Notification Center Deleting Messages

I recently updated to ios7 from my iphone 4s and everytime a notification pops up and I choose to hide it by flicking up...the notication along with the content from the app it came from deletes itself when I try to go look for it. This has happened randomly with kik and pinger messages. People have sent me messages and when I go to reply...it's gone (the message content in the app aswell)!. I ask them did they send me anything...and the reply is yes. This doesn't happen all the time...but is there a way I can fix this?
The only possible reasons I could see why this is happening is that my iphone is old or I'm taking up to much space on it (2.2 gb available). Any suggestions?

That would be a question I would ask the app developer. All the Notification Center does is display incoming alerts, so dismissing it from Notification Center should not delete the message or whatever else from the app itself.

  • Notifications for deleted messages showing up on Mac?

Whenever I finish a conversation on my iPad and delete it, I keep getting notifications for them on my Mac! Is there any way I can get messages to delete across all devices?

    Hi sdchaves:
I'd like to chime in here and get your voicemail notifications working again. I have a few questions for you.  When you turned on the voicemail notifications, did you do that by dialing into your voicemail box? Also, has this worked in the past? One recommendation I have to solve this is to dial *228 and choose option 1.  Once the programming is completed, please pull the battery for 20-30 seconds. Also, when someone calls you, are they able to leave a voicemail message? When you call, are there new messages waiting?  If people are unable to call & leave a message, you can dial *73 to cancel call forwarding. This generally fixes the problem.
    Keep us posted!

  • Notification Center to RSS or similar

Is there a way, a script or an app, that will allow me to get notification of Notification Center generated messages on the number of Macs I manage?
I'm thinking, is there a NC > RSS mechanism, to convert NC notifications to RSS feeds, that can then be acquired via a standard RSS app?
    Any thoughts?

There appear to be others having the same problem. If you check the "More Like This" box, maybe you will find a solution.

  • Is it possible to delete mail from the notification center?

I would like to delete mail directly from the notification center, is this possible and how?

    Hello legaleagle10,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
While you are able to reply to messages and emails from the Notification Center, you are not able to delete email via the Notification Center.  If you want to delete your email it will have to either be done via Mail, or the Banner notification that pops up when the email arrives.

  • Alert messages from Notification Center hang after using close button

After opening my MacBook in the morning, Notification Center displays the alerts from my Calender (I realy like this new feature!).
    Problem
When I click the Close Button on an Alert Message the Alert Message does not close but stops responding and stays displayed.
The only way to get rid of it is to logout and login to OSX.
Does anyone have the same problem?
I am looking for a solution.
    All suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks,
      Chris

    Hi,
    Uploaded with Skitch!
As you can see the System Preferences > Notification Pane talks about "Alerts" in a general way first
Then it offers options on how the Notifications are displayed.
I was presuming you were talking about the Notifications in the same general way and I was asking which option you were using
Since my first post in this thread I have changes my Mail Notifications to Alerts (It seems to be the one with more issue)
It does hang around until I deal with it
It then send me to Mail but the Incoming mail item(s) is(are) no longer marked  as unread.
This makes it a little difficult to check the generic Inbox rthat has five Accounts set up.
I am not getting a spinning beach Ball and the Alert Style Notification goes away.

  • How can i remove the phone number from the text messages that i receive in the notification center

how can i remove the phone number from the text messages that i receive in the notification center?

You choose whether to see text messages in Notification Center or not.  If you elect to see them, they will display the phone number (unless they are from a contact in your contacts list).
You can choose not to see them at Settings > Notification Center > Messages.

  • I can no longer receive Facebook messages in the notification center after upgrading to Mavericks

Hi everibody! As in the heading, i can no longer receive Fb messages in the notification center, but i can still receive push notifications for facebook likes and comments. Is someone able to fix this issue?

The problem has been solved with the help of a MobileMe online counsellor. My MobileMe account had in fact been hacked into and the fraudster had been redirecting my e-mail messages to a phony account that he controlled. We took the forward off and reset all my passwords and security questions, which solved the immediate problem.
    Thx.

  • No text messages in Notification Center

I feel like I have all settings correct but I'm not getting any text message notifications in Notification Center. If I wanted to start over and reset everything from scratch, where do I start?

    Hi,
The Messages app has Alerts in the Messages Menu  > Preferences > Alerts.
The top item is a drop down of Actions.
The next line starts with a  Play Sound box to be ticked and then a drop down of Sounds
There is then the Box for causing the icon in the Dock to bounce.
For the Invite variations Dialogue boxes do appear on the desktop in different places depending on the type of chat.
Test Chat ones tend to be top right of the screen.
    Video chats are top centre.
Audio Only chats  are to the right but below the Text invite spot.
This is where the Incoming ones appear.
You obviously don't get the invite box with out going stuff but the Chat is often where you left the last outgoing chat.
So you can set a sound to a particular actions and in some cases those could be the incoming invites.
They will work with iMessages and other IMs on AIM or Jabber accounts that you may have.
The Notifications is part of the System Preferences panes and has the options to have different types of notifications show up for some of the actions.
The items can be "Alerts" or "Banners" ( or None).
The so called Notification Center is top and far right in the Menu Bar where Spotlight used to be.
This can reprise old notifications for  specific apps.

    Hi,
I take it you have a Jabber account set up in Messages ?
A Google Mail ID can access Google talk which is a Jabber Server and if you have Enabled "Chat" at Facebook you will have a Facebook chat ID that can be used in Messages as they too run a Jabber server.
Of course these are just two of many Jabber and compatible XMPP servers.
I don't have Facebook or Twitter but I did use the Menu bar icon for Notifications  and clicked Messages and Sent a Messages to one of my Jabber IDs (it logged me in and sent it from my Google one).
In the System Preferences > Notifications I do have Share Button set (Messages only).

  • Messages not showing up in notification center

I've had a problem for a while where iMessages and text messages are not showing up in the pull-down notification center. I have everything enabled in Notification settings, numerous restarts, toggled settings on and off... Nothing works. Anyone else have this issue?

Did you try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Appel logo comes back again, instead of restarting the device?
    Is "Do not disturb" active?

  • After the most recent iOS update, notification center doesn't show messages from people who are on "do not disturb mode". Anyone know how to fix it?

Originally, even if I had some messages on the "do not disturb" mode, I would still be able to preview them in the notification center. After the latest update about a week or so ago, the only messages that appear are the ones that aren't on "do not disturb". I've tried taking them all off the DND mode and turning it back on, messed with the settings, even turned my phone off and on, but nothing is working.
    Any ideas?

Follow-up to my earlier post that iPhone 6 Bluetooth not working correctly.  I purchased a Jawbone MiniJambox to use as a speaker phone in my office.  Everyone in our company thinks they are the best.  However, it is experiencing the same issues as with all my other Bluetooth headsets.  Everything works except cannot answer or hang up calls pushing the buttons on the Bluetooth devices.  The Bluetooth patio speakers in our courtyard also have the same issue.  However, my colleagues using iPhone 5 and 5s who did not update to iOS8 are using all Bluetooth devices without any issues.  Apple says it is a problem with my Bluetooth device.  Come on Apple.... This makes 7 different Bluetooth devices with different manufacturers.  You cannot possibly believe the problem is with the Bluetooth devices when iOS7 works perfectly fine...
On another issue, my iPhone 5s worked perfectly fine in my vehicle entertainment center connected via USB.  The vehicle entertainment center had complete control of my iPhone and iTunes.  However, now I plug in my new iPhone 6 and it no longer communicates with my vehicle entertainment center.  Again when I called Apple, they said my vehicle entertainment center needed a firmware update.  Are you kidding me...  That is a bunch of BS...!!!

  • Duplication of calendars - how to delete one in Notification center

After upgrading to iOS5 and syncing (by mistake) through iTunes with MS Outlook I now have exact duplicate calendars. the Outlook and the iCloud calendar. Not a big problem (in Oulook and on the iPhone one can deselct one), however in "Notifications Center" both appear. How do I delete/eliminate  one?

Someone else posted the solution and it worked for me!
"Okay, so I think I solved this. All I did was disable iCloud syncing for Calendars on my iPhone which wiped all calendars including those stored on my iPhone (which doesn't matter because they're now already copied to the cloud) and then reinstated syncing. This then pulled from iCloud the one and only copy of each calendar entry and the 'From My Mac' calendars were entirely erased.
    Simple when you know how...."

  • Messages disappearing from notification center, ios8

Why are my messages disappearing from my notification center before I open them with ios8?  I have an iPhone 5s.  Sometimes they don't appear in notification center at all...

I myself am having this issue and its driving me crazy. I search the internet and find posts just like this, one with no answer or solution to the problem. Please help this is really annoying !

  • I see a message in notification center but can't read it in the message app because it is not here.

Just "received" a message from a friend but i can't see it in the message application. There is the red "1" digit upon the message icon and i see the message in the notification center so i don't understand how to solve the problem.
    Cheers.

The next steps in user troubleshooting are a restore from backup, and if necessary a restore as a new device, not from a backup. Perform what is necessary.

  • Google Talk Messages Only Appear In Notification Center

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, instant messages from Google Talk only appear in Notification Center. (IM's between iCloud and AIM work fine.) On one occasion, I was able to double-click on the incoming IM from Google Talk, and it opened in the Messages app. However, subsequent IM's are effectively trapped in Notification Center. I am unable to single or double-click on them to reply. The only indication that I see to know a new IM from Google Talk has arrived is Message's icon bounces once in the Dock, and gets badged with the number of new messages.
This was not a problem using the Messages Beta with Lion, which did not have Notification Center as a feature. The only interesting Messages related message I find in the Console is:
7/30/12 12:11:45.733 pm Messages[5475]: *** WARNING: -[NSImage compositeToPoint:fromRect:operation:fraction:] is deprecated in MacOSX 10.8 and later. Please use -[NSImage drawAtPoint:fromRect:operation:fraction:] instead.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Timothy Arends1, if you want notifications to be displayed in the notification center, just set the one you want to see in the "INCLUDE" section.
Settings > Notifications > Edit > Touch the bars on the right of the app you want to be notified and drag into the INCLUDE section.
