Notification Center for fb: When clicking on "show" it just vanishes...

When I receive a notification alert from Facebook via the Notification Center it shows 2 buttons; Close and Show. When I click on Show it just vanishes and does not open the Facebook page. Can anyone explain why this is? When I receive notifications from Mail it does open Mail so I am confused and wonder if there is a problem (bug) with my set up! Any help appreciated.

Notification Center for iPhone 5 and iPad Mini Disagree

I have an iPhone 5 and iPad Mini - both updated to iOS 7. They both have the same settings for what is supposed to show and not show in Notification Center. However they don't show the same notifications on the second "All" page. And neither show anything on the second "All" page if I open Notification Center from the Lock Screen.
Another "funny" thing - the description of the day's weather (since they are both residing in the same city) differ in the descriptions. Now I realize that iOS 7 was just released and that Apple's servers are probably going nuts - but you would think that they would both display the same information (again with the same app settings).
BTW - Has anyone found a good website tutorial about Notification Center and what all the controls in Settings actually do? Thanks.

Wow, that's great; thanks! Can I ask what settings you used to get the files so small?
Yes, I am familiar with Photoshop and image optimization issues, but I didn't realize that PNG was so much bigger than JPG and that I had so much file size I could shed before I would notice a degradation in image quality. Your advice will certainly help greatly, and I will certainly apply it to the thumbs as well. I think my mom will be very pleased. : )

The weather widget doesn't appear in the notification center for ios7

I can't find the basic weather widget which was part of the earlier iOS in the notification center. Has it been removed or do I need to change some settings?

System Preferences/Notifications - check the setup there. Also check the daily reminder in the Reminder application.
Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.notificationcenterui.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Is it a bug that I'm seeing entries in the Notification Center for calendars that I've unchecked?

I have unchecked one of the calendars in the Calendar app ... but when I pull down the notification center (either on iPad or iPhone), I still see entries for the unchecked calendar there. I would think that notifications only happen for calendars that I'm interested in. Is this a bug?

Frustrating that now as we are at iOS 5.1.1 there is still no fix for the issue. I called Apple a little while back and the representitive made a mention as to that this was a 'feature' of the notification center and not a bug. I think 'features' are supposed to make for better usability, not an inability to use a function. With that said.. any workarounds? Right now, I'm doing the following: My brother and my wife both share their calendars with me, iCloud to iCloud. I started two iCloud accounts, one for the intended purpose of iCloud (syncing all of my calendar events, contacts, etc.) and one simply for their calendars to be shared to. I've included that iCloud account only on my iPad and turned off calendars in the notification center on the iPad. So if I want to see their calendars I can now use my iPad for that purpose.
Please also send a bug report to Apple if this issue is bothering you --- discussion forums are just that, for discussion.

No image when click on "show photo settings"

So...I've added all of my pics into an iMovie file, but for some reason, with this particular movie, I can't edit my photos once I click on "show photo settings". It's just a black screen but the cursor still runs across for the ken burns effect... any ideas why this would happen?

There's a bug in iMovie 6 which discards iMovie's copy of any photos you've imported to the project. When you empty the Trash the photos are discarded, so Updating a clip creates a black clip.
The solution is to re-import the photos, then don't empty the iMovie Trash.

Facebook and Mail both send banner alerts in notification center for every action on facebook

So I added Facebook to my accounts in Settings. Then I logged in to Facebook and modified my notification settings so that I would get the notifications I wanted. Awesome. Works great. Problem is, these notification settings in Facebook are tied directly to your email on file with facebook -- there's no way (at least that I saw) that allows you to disable getting email from FB, but allow OS X to pull in those same notification settings.
So now in Notification Center, everytime someone interacts with my Facebook, I get an alert from Facebook and an alert from Mac Mail that Facebook was alerting me. Super redundant.
Anyone find a way around the duplications?

I'm also having this problem.
Notifications receives alerts from Reminders app, but not Mail.
I've set preferences in Mail for 'Inbox Only' and 'All Mailboxes', sent test mail from ISP webmail and Google (Mail is not setup to receive from this account) - still no notifications.
I had previously used Growl (v1.4) and GrowlMail very successfully (with 10.7), but while upgrading to Mountain Lion I was informed that GrowlMail was incompatible so I deleted it.
While testing this problem of not receiving Mail Notifications I have disabled Growl and rebooted.
Like others here:
Checked: Notifications setup
Checked: Mail setup
Rebuilt permissions
Rebooted
Any help would be very gratefully received.

MacBook Air11' Crashed when click slide show of office 2011

Hello,
I have been encountered crashing problem since I installed office 2011. Every time when I click slide show, black screen comes and the keyboard is frozen. After a few seconds, normal screen is back. However, some times I have to kill power point process manually to make my laptop useable. I followed the instructions found from Microsoft website, almost tried everything. The problems are still there. I cannot use slide show. I found this problems had been reported 4 years ago, but ended-up no solution. Please tell me how to solve this if you know. Thanks!

I had even run "Delete All Settings" and double checked everything.
Restarted a couple of times.
But no luck. I have similar problems with other apps, like Todo 7.
I even tried to restore from a backup 3 times.
I am getting out of ideas.

How to change the Notification Center Weather (Farenheit To Celcius)

The way to change it is very cumbersome to say the least.
In theory it should be manageable from the Clock App Weather setting, but unfortunately it doesn't work from there. The setting there seems to have no effect on anything I can find.
The only way I have found to change it is by going into Settings->General->International->Region Format. And choose a region that uses Celsius instead of Farenheit. Then it will change the format in Notification Center.

Frame Duration not selectable when clicking on show info for jepgs & stills

I have imported still images into imovie HD6 and cannot select the duration any clip. I have tried both, pressing apple+i and double-clicking the image.
The only thing that works is the manual slider control in the timeline section. The problem is I'm importing several hundred still clips and don't want the standard (default) of 5 seconds, but rather, 0:00:8 of a second. I was hoping to be more exact than just dragging the slider down. Not to mention manually changing each clip is going to take quite a long time.
Also, I was wondering if there was a way to "select all clips" and then change the duration of all clips at the same time? (so far I've been able to select all and that's about it)
any help would be appreciated

Thanks for the info. It has not completely solved my problem, but I have gotten farther. By importing the images from iphoto instead of a straight drag 'n drop from my desktop, I have now been able set the duration of my frames when importing. I am also able to change each clips duration individually once I double click on a frame in the timeline window.
Here's my dilemma:
I may be able to control the duration of each picture I import, however I can only choose the numbers I can set using the slider. Meaning, if I go in and punch in the numbers manually, even if its within the minimum 00:03, I still get an error that states "I have not set a time within the minimum parameters." You may wonder why I can't set the slider to what I want and that is because my slider control under "photo settings" skips from 0:03 to 0:18 or sometimes 0:15 or 1:10, 1:18, and so on....
clarification:
(i'm talking about as I slide the slider back and forth. It doesn't move up and down the numeric scale evenly. Once I set it on a number, it doesn't skip.
I mean it skips between numbers with no means to refine the number you really want to try—I hope I didnt' confuse further.)
A Little More Background:
I am importing 176 pictures as still clips from iphoto into imovie HD6. I don't know if the number of slides have something to do with it or not, I cannot seem find a definte answer to that. do you know?
Also, once imported from iphoto into imovie, it will not consistently behave the way I assume the program is made, when I try and set a new duration time. Meaning if I wanted to change all my photo stills from the chosen imported time of 00:03 to one of the next numbers on the slider (let's say it's 1:18), and I hit update, it sometimes changes it and sometimes doesn't. More times it does NOT. I have tried "select all" or "select similar" from the menu thinking that my selecting method may be the problem, but these actions don't seem to make a difference.
any ideas on what is wrong? is it a bug or is it something I'm not doing correctly.
btw: thanks for the note on the frame rates. I know I speak less intelligent in these areas. I appreciate the new knowledge.

Which app is asking for permission when iOS 7 shows a notification that says: "exited?" would like access to twitter accounts

Is this notification coming from geofencing? Why would it need access to my twitter accounts?

I have both this and a slightly different question. I have multiple Twitter accounts on both my iOS5 and iOS6 (test) devices. i like to post tweets from various apps like the Wall Street Journal, etc. In my case, the built-in functionality simply seems to pick the first of my Twitter accounts in my list of accounts in the Settings panel, and post to that one. It would seem to make sense that there should be a user-selectable option for which account(s) should process a tweet, and it probably ought to be system-wide. No?

Center the image when click the movieclip
