Notification Center Shows Duplicate Email Notifications

I use the Apple mail app for my emails.  Under Mountain Lion, when new emails arrive, I receive a banner notification but when I look in notification center these emails appear as 2 separate notifications.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Ray,  I was receiving multiple notifications sent to my GMAIL IMAP account.   I noticed that when I opened the first notification I was shown mail with the "all mail" label selected.  Opening the second notification displayed the "important" lablel.
To resolve this issue,  I logged into the gmail web interface, opened settings, clicked on labels.  I then unchecked the "show in IMAP" box for the "all mail" label and the "important" label.
Perhaps this will help you.

  • Iphone 4s showing duplicate email account @me and cloud

I just purchased a new Macbook Air and was setting up the cloud services on my phone and on my new MB Air.  I've had the phone for a while, and had set up the email account on the phone as my mobile me account.  When I set up the cloud service on my MB Air and on my Iphone 4s, I was asked to merge the account from the mobile me to the icloud service.  I followed all the instructions and everything worked like a charm - contacts updated to my devices, photos etc.  However I just noticed a problem on my iPhone, which now when I look at my email icon, it says 66 emails, when I open it up, it showing 2 accounts, both say iCloud, however one is the actual iCloud icon and the other has the mobile me cloud icon.   When I went into my settings on my iphone, I figured I'd just go and delete the mobile me email account, however it says (iCloud - account says my mobile me email address).
I'm not sure i want to delete the account, because if I uncheck the Mail (turn it off), all of my emails go away.  When I turn it on, it shows duplicate email accounts.
I must be doing something wrong, but have been racking my brain for the last hour or so and I just can't seem to figure it out.
    Any help???

I actually worked it out - I deleted it and started it back up again - not sure why it did it in the first place, but I did find others who had the problem and explained how to fix it:

  • Mail notification not showing up in "Notification Center"

I have few emails configured with Mail but when a new mail arrives it does not show up in the notification center.
The notification center settings for "Mail" is set up as Alerts correctly.
Should I make the "Mail" to start automatically after login??

I am having the exact same problem. I've had a bit of issues setting up my Exchange account and get iCal to work properly, so ended up deleting my Exchange account and setting it up again. Before, emails showed in Notifications, now they don't, even when Mail's up and running. I've got my computer set up to show the last 10 items. I would appreciate any help anyone could proivde.
    Thanks

  • Mountain Lion notification center shows no events/items at all!

    Okay, so,
I've updated Lion to Mountain Lion.
I've gone into the Notifications area in the system preferences area and everything is enabled.
I've swiped my fingers across to pull the notification window into view.
I've sent myself an e-mail from my gmail account in a browser to the account in my mail app
But there is nothing in there! Nothing but the Click to Tweet button type thing and the show alerts and banners switch.
Why is my notification center not showing anything?!?!?!?!
Thanks for any help in advance

    Notification Center is empty!
I have an iMac and Macbook Air, I sent myself a test email and nothing showed up in NC on either Mac.  I set a reminder on my iMac and it showed up in NC on the iMac but not the MBA, vice versa; I set a reminder on the MBA and it didn't show up on the iMac NC.  Both event reminders pinged my iPhone though.
I did just get an email notification from MLB.com that I can save $30.00 though, that showed up in NC on both machines.   Stumped.
The settings on both machines are identical, all apps that should be notifying me are minimized but I am getting nothing!
my understanding was that the NC was cloud based and not local to keep all Macs in sync and harmony, this just isnt the case for me.
debating on whether or not to book a Genius appointment to go over this, I'm hoping that the issue resolves itself or that an update is in the works.
I don't anticipate 1000 Notifications in the near future but would like to have a centralized spot to view them, I love the NC on the iPhone but the Mac NC is very frustrating.

  • Duplicate Email Notifications on iOS5

I am currently having issues with notifications on my iphone, but not all the notifications, just my email.
I checked the settings for notifications already (banner, bubble, etc)
All other items show up as a single notification, but for emails, i receive duplicates, even though I only receive the email once.
Is there something I set up wrong to have this happen (ie: iCloud, email, notifications, exchange email)?
I am definitely sure that its just email and its not any other items that are duplicated.
    Thank you.

Found this answer which worked for me
For anyone else with the problem. I went into settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; Accounts; then turned off one of the "mail" options on my two email accounts.
    One account is for email.
One account is for syncing my calendar.

  • Notification center-Calender Duplicates

When I have an upcoming event, sometimes it will show the calender entry twice on the notification center, even though it is in my calender only once. Anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it?

Ok, here is what I did. In my Calender I had two sets of calenders showing up, the ones on icloud and the ones on my mac. I deleted the ones on my mac from my phone and problem solved!
I checked my mac and everything still syncs. Basically if you have two sets of the same calenders go ahead and delete the one that is not icloud and it removes the duplicate entries in the notification center.

  • How do I get my missed call notification to show in the notification center? Everything is turned on but nothing shows up.

I previously posted a question about not being able to see any of my missed calls in the notification center. I have the iPhone 4S running on 6.1.1. The notifications previously stopped working but somehow the calls started to show up. (I can't remember what I did to make them show up). However, after I went to General>Reset>Reset All Settings , the missed call notifications disappeared again. I have tried turning everything on and it still does not work. My settings are Phone> Show 10 Recent Items> Banners > Badge Icon On> View In Lockscreen On. I have also tried to set it as alerts but nothing happens. The only way I can view my missed calls is on the lock screen and in the recents tab in the phone app. They do not show up in the notification center at all. Can someone please help me?

  • Notification Center after read email on iPad, on iPhone still is displayed as unread

    Hi,
Sice some time I've got issue with newest iOS (7.1.2).
I use iPhone and iPad , both are configured with iCloud email.
When I receive a new email, it appear on both devices in notification center - that is very good.
But when I read this email on one device (no matter if it is an iPhone or iPad) - on second device it is still displayed in notification center !
Also when I unlock this second device , I've got unread badge count on Mail icon, which tells me that I've got 1 new unread email !
I need to open email application , then for a few seconds I can see that email, and when email app finish to sync - this email is marked as read.
The same thing happens when I archaive / delete email from the first device.
As far as I remember, with gmail account I didn't had such issues...
Anyone has simmilar issues with email app on iCloud ? This thing takes me crazy
    Thanks
    Daniel

I've found out that this is by design.
Email Application offer push-notification, but read action is not populated to the Cloud.
So Mail app needed to be opened manually each time you want to refresh it status ...
That is not a good information...
As far as I remember, google had that work quite long ago properly (of course on iOS and inside Mail.app)

  • Why are Facebook notifications not showing up in Notification Center?

On OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Facebook account is setup in Internet Accounts preference pane in System Preferences.
Facebook is configured in Notifications preference pane in System Preferences.
The Share Buttons widget is configured in Notifications preference pane in System Preferences.
When I view my Facebook account via my web browser I usually have notifications available, but these notifications are not showing up in Notification Center.
I do receive Calendar, Mail, etc. notifications in Notification Center so I know it works.
I can send posts to Facebook via the Share Buttons widget in Notification Center, but presently I can receive nothing from Facebook..
Anyone know of a solution to this problem?
    Thanks!
P.S. I read in another thread how Facebook can be setup in iMessage, but I don't want to use iMessage if I can get Notification Center to function properly.

I got it to work yesterday. I tried none of the advice from discussions dealing with changing settings, enabling/disabling accounts, terminal commands, etc. All I did was ask a Facebook friend to respond to a post, and I was able to see the notifications in Notification Center.
I know most have their settings configured correctly in System Preferences, but this is how my preferences are configured on OS X Mavericks 10.9.3:
    (1) Internet Accounts preference pane:
There isn't much to configure here. I signed into my Facebook account. I checked or unchecked the Calendar and Contacts selections. It doesn't matter. I left the Description, found in the Details button window, as Facebook, but it doesn't matter, either.
    (2) Notifications preference pane:
Facebook alert style is set to Banners, but Alerts will also work just fine. This setting is crucial because if it's set to None, no alerts will be received. I left Show notifications on lock screen unchecked, but it doesn't matter if I check it or not. And I put a check mark in Show in Notification Center, and the number of Recent Items can be set to whatever available setting desired, mine is set to 20 Recent Items.
    (3) Notifications preference pane:
I placed a check mark on Show share button notifications in Notification Center, which is found when Share Button is selected in the list of notifications like Facebook, Calendar, Mail etc.
Again, I did nothing else, and it just works. As a side note: before I got it to work I called AppleCare and a senior advisor spent considerable time with me trying to find out why it wasn't working. And his last bit of advice was that I should reinstall the OS. He needs retraining because that bit of advice was ill-advised, to say the least.
I simply had no experience with receiving Facebook notifications in Notification Center 'on OS X', and the AppleCare employees had no training in this area, but if Notification Center is part of OS X, and Facebook notifications are part of Notification Center training in this area should be standard, but the AppleCare employees were guessing, not advising, which certainly is not technical support. Hence, my AppleCare dollars were not at work as expected.
So without prior knowledge as to how the specifics of 'Facebook' notifications worked in Notification Center on OS X, my assumption was I would be notified each time someone tagged me, someone liked a comment, post or photo of mine, someone commented on one of my posts, or someone sent me a direct message.
When I asked one of my Facebook friends to help me test it out, the following occurred (I don't remember if I had Safari up and running at this time - Note: I was signed into Facebook via Safari. I say this because AppleCare employees did explain on OS X some applications must be launched in order to received notifications, which in my mind is wasted time and code for Apple developers. Why offer notifications if the application is already launched? Ridiculous, if you ask me. That's what configuring each applications preference to set badge app icons, if it's not already coded by default.):
    (1) I sent a Facebook post via Notification Center using the Facebook Share Button.
    (2) I communicated with one of my Facebook friends by private message via iOS device and asked for a response to the post I sent.
    (3) My Facebook friend responded to my private message, but I don't remember if I received a notification in Notification Center.
    (4) My Facebook friend liked my post, shared my post, and commented on my post. I received two separate notifications in Notification Center on OS X, yet I received notifications on Facebook for all three actions, seen via iOS device. By the way, I wish Notification Center notifications would stay in Notification Center until we manually remove them. If they did stay until we manually remove them I would have time to find out which action of my friend I was received the notification for in Notification Center.
    That's it!

  • Duplicate email notifications in using extended notification

    Hi,
I have configured extended nottification to send workitem notifications to outlook email inbox by using SWNADMIN & SWNCONFIG.  I have executed the SWN_SELSEN program to send notifications out.  However, I am getting two duplicate email messages for every same workitem.  Has anyone run into this same issue?  If you have, could you share how did you solve this problem.
    Thank you for your help.
    Jennifer Tran

If you're on ECC 5.0 or higher - check this blog out
    <a href="/people/saujanya.gn/blog/2006/12/19/how-to-get-work-items-your-outlook-inbox:///people/saujanya.gn/blog/2006/12/19/how-to-get-work-items-your-outlook-inbox
If you're on something lower than ECC 5.0 -
Search SDN for notes on RSWUWFML2 - that's a SAP program that you could use to send workitem to outlook email inbox.
    Hopes this help.

  • SCSM R2 Duplicate Email Notifications

Hello anyone! I recently installed SCSM R2 on Windows Server 2012 R2 and created my Service Manager environment. I incorporated an Active Directory connector so I could notify affected users and assigned users of incident creation, assignment and resolution.
I followed instructions based off various guides I found and created a custom management pack to store all my templates, workflows, etc. I am only deploying three custom workflows within my Incident Event Workflow Configuration. Those three workflows are as
    follows:
    1) Create Event - Incident Created - This workflows will send an email notification to the affected user that an Incident has been created.
    2) Update Event - Incident Assignment - This workflow will send an email notification to the assigned to user.
    3) Update Event - Incident Closed - This workflow will send an email notification to the affected user when the incident has been resolved.
I am using custom notification templates for each of the workflows and they all three are working, doing what they are intended to do except for one aggravating issue. In regards to the "Incident Assignment" workflow the "assigned to"
user is receiving two emails (exact replicas) notifying that the ticket has been assigned to them. My notification list within the "Incident Event Workflow Configuration" properties for the Incident Assignment workflow is as follows:
    Under Notification List:
User - Assigned to User , Message Template - Incident Assignment Email Notification. This is the only notification added to the notification list. I do not understand why it is sending two emails to the "Assigned to User". If anyone is experiencing
a similar issue or can help please do. Thanks!

Thank you Andreas! This MP did fix my issue. To anyone out there that needs to know the steps taken after downloading the MP please see below.
    1) Go to the link listed by Andreas Baumgarten above. Download the Lumagate.AssignedToNotification.xml MP. Save it to a network share you can access from your SCSM server.
    2) Navigate to the Administration tab in your SCSM console. Select Management Packs and then choose import under Management Packs in the Tasks section.
    3) Once you have imported the MP go to the Workflow Configuration section under Administration still.
    4) Choose your desired workflow to edit (in my case, Incident Event Workflow Configuration) and click properties.
    5) From there you can Add a new workflow and select the Lumgate MP. I was able to leave the criteria and notification list sections blank and chose "Do not apply a template" under "Select Incident Template". Make sure this workflow is
enabled and you may need to disable your existing custom workflows if any were previously created.
    6) Lastly, I went and customized the Notification templates from the MP to better suit my company. You can edit the HTML in the message body to fit your needs.

  • Missed notifications not showing up in notification center

Just wondering how long notifications stay in the notification center?  For example, I saw a notification on my lock screen last night to approve a purchase for my DD through Family Share.  I thought I would deal with it in the morning, but it's not in my notification center and I have no idea where to find it.  Currently my notification center is empty.  Thank you!

  • Receive duplicate email notifications

I receive duplicate messages to my Apple Discussion notifications. Any way to make the duplicates stop?
Both are to the same email address. Comparing headers shows no differences.

Should have kept my mouth shut
Do you have notifications enabled for this thread? For this community? If so turn it off.
For the thread look at the top of the thread list
For the community look at the first page

  • Duplicate email Notifications.

Okay this notification at this particular point is a duplicate to the one I read last evening.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2164560#2164560
I will edit and add other duplicates as I run across them.
what seems to be happening is the last post read in a thread from a previous day is used as first post in a new batch of notifications the next day sometimes it further up and maybe the last to or three threads are actually new.

Okay here is another one Hope this time I've coppied everything proper this time:
