Notification- code group defaulting

I customized a notification and every time I want to assign task code group and task code to that notification. Is it possible to assign/bring only required Task Folder to that notification, so I dont have to select task code one by one every time.
Purpose is to write long text comments against each task code in notification. Task codes will remain same for this notification.
Conculding:
Once I selcet particular Notification Type, Task Codes also should get selected and displayed automatically in Task field like default tasks.
Is it possible to do in this way?

you can only resist the selection option , i dont know is there any possibility for defaulting all the task code

Error in notification- Wrong Code group displaying

While creating Notification, we can assign codes for defect loc, def type and causes. After that, If I go in change mode of same notification, code group for defect type and causes are default taking as code group assigned for defect location.
Also the code group for defect type and causes are not even displaying in screen.
But the data for defect location is showing everything fine, means code group, codes.

Defect Location:
Code group- Correctly displaying whatever assigned during creation of notification
Defect Loc code: Correctly displaying

Deactivation of code groups and task codes in PM/CS notification

hi experts, would like to ask regarding Plant Maintenance and Customer Service module. Is it possible to disable code groups and task codes assign to notification type? instead of just deleting it? We have a config made on which the old format is no longer applicable so we need to exclude the old one on the selection so that users may not be confused of having so many options in the list.
Please suggest procedure on how can I make it.

Is there any standard report i can get equipment malfunctions according to malfunction codes?

It gives the details of the code group and code, which u give in catalog...
You need to get the text which u have written in the PM Notification...under damage and under causes...
Once u get the code group and code itself... i hope its sufficient...

F4 help for Code groups while creating a notification.

Hi all,
We are using Exit QQMA0015 to filter the code groups for object parts, Damage, Causes and Activities based on the Z table.
Our requirement is based on Object Parts, we want to restrict f4 help for Damage and then based on Object Parts and Damage we want to restrict f4 help for Causes and so on for Activities based on the Z table . And we are going to maintain multiple values for one Object Part.
For e.g. If we have two entries for Damage code group in z table based on the Object Part, then both these code groups should be shown on f4 help of Damage. So we want to pass multiple code groups from the Z table
We are facing an issue like the export parameter E_codegruppe is an variable and hence we can pass only one value. So in the loop we are trying to pass both the values to the table T_RIWO020TAB and in the exit this table is getting filled with the values we want.
But once we are out of exit the standard table G_RIWO020TAB in the FUNCTION'CATALOGUE_SELECTION' is having values as per standard configuration and we are not able to get the values we want.
Please suggest on the above mentioned requirement. This will be really helpful for us.

is there any relation between " reason , code , code group , subject profile'
Actually i have make "reason" feild has default value ..
i have to do by RFC .
Cany any body plz reply from where i have to pick this reason feild and set reason feild has default value has " not started "

Hi,
Subject profiles are used in different areas like
Service
Complaint
Activity reason(Used in all documents like sales,service order)
There is a relationship between Codes, Code groups, code group profiles, Catologs, Subject profiles.
Do not confuse 'Reason' with 'Code' or 'Subject'(Not subject profile), all are same. In different contexts you call them with different names.
1. In IMG while creating codes you use the name "Code".
2. While entering details about activity in any business transaction you call it as a "Reason"
3. While entering the defect of the problem in Service or complaint doc. you use the name "Subject"
In all above cases it is equivalent to name "CODE' which you define in IMG.
Now coming to relationship of above mentioned entities, in any business transaction type customization you can select "business activity" as additional business transaction category. At the customizing header level of this bus. tran. category you are allowed to enter a "Subject profile" which controls your "Reason" field in the business transaction.
In a similar way for service or complaint order you are allowed to enter a "Subject profile" for entering "Subject" in respective transactions.
Each subject profile is assigned to Subject profile category like Service, Complaint, Activity reason etc.,
1. First define catalogs
2. For each catalog define code groups and codes( Code, subject, reason mentioned earler)
3. Create 'Code group profile' for each catalog and assign assign 'code groups' that are relevant for coreesponding catalog to 'code group profile'
4. Now finally create a "Subject profile" which is the combination of "Catalog and code group profile"
I think this would clarify your doubt.
Coming to default value in this reason field, the standard system will not support this. You sholud use some Badi to get this.

Selected set assignment to code group

I have maintained a catalog " S", under which i have maintained code groups and codes in QS41, but here the usage indicator is deactive. I cannot select it.
Now when i use QS51,i am unable to view the codes. the selected set is empty. In this case how to assign the code groups and codes to seleccted set.

There is some confusion you have in code gr & selected set.
In simple words -->in QS41 you create defect codes & code gr for catalo types like 1,3,9 etc.
But in QS51 you combine different codes from code grs to form selected sets.Practically selected sets are only used for Characteristics attributes(1) and Usage decision(3) and by default they carry valuations.
For catalog defect type (9) I would suggest to add and create your own codes and code groups as per business requirement in QS41.You should not actually create selected set for catalog 9.

code groups are used in Notifications and quality result parameters.
Code groups are used to combine and structure codes within a catalog type
code groups at client level to group codes that have the same contents or relate to one another, within a catalog type. Codes, that are assigned to a code group are also known as group codes.
When you maintain the code group index, the system locks the required catalog type for other users. However, if you use the individual maintenance function, only the required code group is locked.
these are can ot create by plant wise.
1.when you have material which measures by means of color then you canhave code group color and codes of red ,black etc..
2.if you have defect codes then you can mention them
3.if you have problems of perticular part, then in notification by use of codegroups and codes you can enter the data.
A selected set contains a combination of different codes at plant level, for example, coded descriptions of characteristic attributes (such as color, shape, surface characteristics), defect causes or usage decisions from different code groups.
selected sets to combine codes from several code groups for processing that are allowed or useful for a particular application.
Codes that are copied into a selected set are known as set codes.
When you maintain the selected set index, the system locks the required catalog type for other users. However, if you use the individual maintenance function, only the required selected set is locked.
4.with combinationof code and code groups you can create the selected sets , canbe used in Usage decission.(ex:aprroved, no approved,ok, not ok etc)

Code Groups not visibile in QS41

He experts,
I have created catalogs by t-code: QS41.
After the entering and saving the code groups and codes system is not showing the codes for the code groups.
Only code groups are visible. However I can see and use the code groups while donig transaction i.e. in notification in filling the history details.
Please tell me if there is any settings need to be done so that codes are visible in QS41.
I am working in ECC6.0

Code groups, codes & selected sets during UD

Dear Friends,
Can I create my own catalog types.
I have created my own catalog types.
1) For Usage Decision (R)
2) For Defets recording (P)
During defect recording the system is picking the code groups & codes created by me and which are assigned . It is not showing other ones.
But during Usage decision it is picking all the code groups, codes & selected sets attached to standard UD catalog "3".
I am unable to understand how the system is behaving like this.
I have created my own notification type Y1. I have created my Catalog profile (YQM000001).
I have assigned this profile to inspection type.
I have assigned this notification type to inspection type.
In the catalog profile YQM000001, I have assigned two catalogs (R & P).
In catalogs & catalog profile for notification type, problems field assigned the catalog type "P".
One more issue while recording the defects I am getting notification type as Y1 (created by me) but the catalog profile is showing standard one "QM0000001".
I am unable to understand these all. Do anybody has got any solution.

There is no need to create separate catalog type for your problem of displaying specific UD codes while giving user decision. You can assign the specific 'UD selected set' from catalog type 3 ( User decision) in SPRO ' Maintain inspection type' for QM. Following is the path you can assign the desired UD option you need to see while recording UD:
SPRO >> Quality Management >> Quality Inspection >> Inspection lot creation >> Maintain inspection types >>execute >> select the inspection type say '01' and view details >> there will be field UD selected set, assign the specific selected set made for your plant and save.
By doing this when you go for giving any UD, codes defined by you only will be displayed (not all).
Didn't understand your issue related to notification, but in same above screen you can also assign notification type for particular insp. type.
Looking at your requirement there is no need to create separate insp type or notification type just make proper use of existing one and do proper assignment.
Please let me know if you have any problem in resolving this.

Code under code group disappear after creation

Hi all,
I have two questions on following which are link to each other:
Q1 u2013 Code created inside a newly created code group is disappearing.
>> When I created a code group using QS41 with status of the code group indicated as u201CReleasedu201D. Next I went to create three codes with individual defect class under the code group screen. Lastly, I hits save.
>> Next, I went to QS42 (display) on this code group. However, surprisingly, all the codes created under this code group were disappeared. May I know why?
Q2 u2013 Using defect class to activate a defect record as quality notification automatically during defect recording.
>> I read this section in SAP help portal that I can activate a defect class in customization to automatically activate a quality notification (i.e. so that the defect class can automatically activate a defect record as quality notification during result recording so that the user can continue process the quality notification. How do I do this in system since I keep on getting problem on question 1 on above? Even after question 1 on above solved, what are the relevant steps that I require to configure in order to make this function working?

Dear all,
We use quality management module. My requirement is in notification of type Q3 we use code group to enter defects, is there any possibility of restricting certain codes of the code group for certain users only.
i.e., if i have a code group x of catalog type 9 wherein in x we will have various defect codes like d1,d2,d3....... - Can these codes for example user1 can only select codes d2 and user2 can select any codes from d1,d2,d3...

we have code groups & codes under catalog.
we have created lot of code groups & codes in code groups, now we wanted to delete or deactivate or block some of the code groups & codes. how this is possible ?.

What u r asking is only about... catalog that's is the combination of code groups.....
from here u can deactivate catalog...

Hide Code Group code as selection

When we develop Code Groups and Codes, after a period of time the Code is no longer to be used. I understand that it can not be deleted as it has usage, but why can't one flag similar to the Code Group itself so it will not be visible for selection. Right now we change description to DO NOT USE, but users still select code.

Hi,
It is possible to delete the catalog codes inside the group.
For that, first you have to define your own catlog type (as SAP recommends not to change the settings for the SAP defined catalog types).
Procedure:
- Define catalog type say 'Z'
- In config set the check box Deactivate. (Read F1 help on this checkbox)
- Now define the codes for this type in QS41.
- Use the code somewhere (e.g. Notification)
- If u check QS41 again, it will have usage indicator.
- But you can delete the entry ignoring the warning message.
Let me know if this fulfills the reqmnt.
