Notification-daemon: clearing the notifications queue

I'm using notification-daemon (0.7.3-1) and libnotify (0.7.4-1), calling notify-send from an external program. After several notifications have popped up (not sure of the number), they stop appearing, but still show up in the queue, which is accessible from the notification area (using GNOME 3 with xmonad). The only way I've found to clear the queue and have the notifications start appearing again is to click the "Clear Notifications" button in the system tray queue window.
You'd think notify-send would have an option to do this. I would love to just use dbus directly, but can't seem to find anything in the doc for clearing the queue (best I could find was http://www.galago-project.org/specs/notification/0.9/ ). The queue viewer is clearly able to do it, so there's got to be a mechanism.

Hi,
Thank you for your post.
I am trying to involve someone to further look at this issue. There might be some time delay. Appreciate your patience.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • [Guide] How To Clear the Play Queue

QuestionHow do I clear the play queue?
AnswerPlease note this is an unofficial workaround and not an official solution.
    1 - Click New Playlist.
2 - Add only one song to the Playlist.
3 - Whenever you want to clear the Play Queue double click it.
Once Play Queue is flushed, only the short song you used will be in the Queue. The reason is that the last song played in the Queue always stays until something new is loaded into it other than manually added material.

The MarkupBean uses its own broadcaster (MarkupBroadcaster).
The setBroadcast(boolean b) is available only in the VueEventBroadcaster.
We may work on better solution to fix the issue.
Probably the issue is not related to the number of notifications!. Try this workaround to confirm...!
Workaround (I do not recommend to do this):
    - Save the current markup broadcaster : oldBroadcaster = getMarkupBean().getMarkupBroadcaster()'
    - Set an empty broadcaster (getMarkupBean().setMarkupBroadcaster(new MarkupBroadcaster())). All the listeners are copied into the new broadcaster
    - getMarkupBean().getMarkupBroadcaster().removeAllMarkupEventListeners(); // Remove the copied listeners
    - Put back the old broadcaster (markup listeners).

  • How do i clear the qRFC queue in a R/3 sandbox

    Hi All,
I just built a R/3 4.7B sandbox and we are going to perform an upgrade on it. But before we do that we need to clear the qRFC queue. Can anyone please let me know as to how i go about in clearing the qRFC queue.
    Thanks
    Anil

Open the infopackage that loads deltas from this infosource.Use option delta and run the infopackage.Do a monitor on this infopackage and check that it has gone GREEN and pulled records.
then go to tcode rsa7 in the source system and highlight the datasource, then click on the 'detail'(lens) button.
In next screen choose radio button delta update and check that it lists 0 records(shows as 0 from 0 records).
Will also probably show 0 LUW's in the delta queue screen beside the datasource tech name.
This confirms that queue is cleared.
    cheers,

  • Clearing the print queue

While printing, the paper supply ran out but when I reloaded, it tells me the printer is out of paper. I've turned off the printer, tried to delete the current job but am still unable to print.
    Thank you.

Hi - Have you rebooted the computer yet?  I'd try that first.  That should clear the print queue in case the previous document is still stuck int he print queue.  If that doesn't take care of it, does the printer attempt to pickup paper or do you get any response from the printer when you send a file to print?
    Hope that helps.

  • Do we necessarily need to clear the BW queues in preprocessing steps of SAP

    Hello Experts,
    A quick question.
I am doing EHP upgrade on BW system
Do we necessarily need to clear the BW queues in preprocessing steps of SAPehpi?
OR the same can be done just before downtime?
A fast response is much appreciated.

    Hello Markus,

  • How can I clear the print queue?

How can I clear the print queue on an iPad 2?

Double-click the Home button to bring up the "recent Apps" tray. Find the Print Center icon in the tray and touch it to switch to it. You can cancel print jobs from there.

I've been trying to find a way to clear the smtp queue from postfix in Lion Mail Server.  Got hit by a bad account penetration sending spam and want to clear it to see what is new.  TIA

  • How do you clear the download queue?

I've reached the 3,333 track limit on my device (Android phone) and keep getting the message every time I go switch off offline mode, because I have tracks queued to download but obviously can't.How can I clear the download queue, to stop the message (and download different tracks after I undownload some others)?

I've ran into that buying a movie. You cannot cancel it. It has to finish downloading then delete it. I tried emailing apple, they told me to do it that way. I also heard they can clear your queue(apple), but that didn't happen to me. Sorry, I looked everywhere as well. I would buy a movie on my iPad to watch on atv and I had to do it that way. I just purchase from tv now and download later on MacBook or iPad if I want it.

  • Unable to clear the printer queue

I have the HP Photosmart All-in-One Printer C308g and tried printing a document last night.  There was response.  So I tried to clear the doc and it said "deleting" -- that was 11:32 p.m. (EST) last night.  As of this very minute (11 am EST), the doc still shows as "deleting".  I have tried numerous time to cancel the doc.  I even turned the printer off, unplug it and still nothing.  I closed everything down on my laptop and then rebooted it and tried to print again but the original job was still in the queue.  Please if anyone has an answer to my dilema, I'd really appreciate your help.

  • Not clearing the job queue

    Hello everyone,
We've been experiencing some oddities in our database and we hope to find some help around here. The scenario is as follows:
Our job queue shows 13 pages of jobs, updated in the last 5 days, in which we find lots of jobs - actually most of them from 3 days ago - with the progress showing "transcoding clip" and the status as "RUN".
When we try to cancel any of those jobs we get an error message that says: "Error cancelling - this job is currently not running".
We have tried flushing the event queue from Terminal using the following commands:
    fcsvr_client flushresponsequeue
fcsvr_run psql px pxdb -c "vacuum analyze verbose;"
but none of them solved our problem. We cannot clear the event tables in the db (pxevent and pxeventresponse). We have even tried a more desperate solution by accessing the db via Navicat and manually deleting each and every row (!!!), visually clearing the tables.
BUT on the next day they did reappear and on the day after double in quantity (i.e. empty table --next day--> 4K rows --next day--> +4K rows and so on...).
So now we have 18,826 entries in our table which seems to grow indefinitely (and for no apparent reason).
We fear that our problem may get worse and cause us bigger problems. Any help would be very appreciated.
Details of the system: FCS V1.5.2 / Mac OS X (10.5.8)
    Thank you in advance,

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.
the issues with the "pxevent" and "pxeventresponse" tables seems to have been solved BUT the issue with the Job queue remains the same.
Old (1 day old or more) jobs are showing status as RUN although when you try to delete it you get an error message which says "error cancelling - this job is currently not running" despite the fact it is shown as running. When you "get info" on any of those, you can see in the logs that it has failed and retried, then failed again (on the retry). This condition should make the status change from RUN to FAIL but it is not what's happening.
All this ends up putting some recently added jobs on a WAIT status which ends up kind of locking my queue (therefore preventing jobs from running, timming them out and, consequently, failing them). If I go to the "pxjobs" table and delete all entries it solves the symptom (as it was well said by one of you) but the problem doesn't cease to happen.
I can force the waiting jobs to run now but they end up failing too.
Any thoughts on that? I have some print screens but don't know if I can post them here (newbie on this forum, sorry ).
    Thanks for your attention

  • Any way to clear the Mail Queue Completely?

So it seems my SMTP service was hacked over the weekend, with someone deciding to use my server to send a whole lot of mail. I've shut down the service and locked down the security hole, but now I have a lot of mail sitting in the queue and it is taking hours to clear it all out by using the Maintenance tab. Is there a quicker, easier way to clear the queue?

    Hi
Rather than using Server Admin it's generally agree to use the command line instead.
    sudo mailq
This command flushes the mail queue
    sudo postfix flush
    To re-queue the mail queue
    sudo postsuper -r ALL
Command to see what's in the mail queue
    sudo postqueue -p
Command to delete everything in the mail queue
    sudo postsuper -d ALL
If you've got lots in there it will take some time. You might benefit by stopping the mail service first:
    sudo serveradmin stop mail
Use this command to restart the service afterwards:
    sudo serveradmin start mail
If you've got a lot of mail in there it will take the time it takes. You will need some patience. This link discusses how you can secure your mail server:
    http://osx.topicdesk.com/content/view/38/41/
Some friendly advice. Secure your server further by placing it behind a firewall. Only open ports required by the Mail Service. If you have to open ssh secure it by using ssh-keygens and disable sshd passwords. Beef up all your passwords.
    My 2p.

  • Clearing the eprint queue after error

We sent two print jobs to eprint and got an email error message that the printer was not connected. We discovered the IP address was missing and traced that to the cable being disconnected accidentally. That is all cleared now and in the process of troubleshooting we updated firmware, etc and restarted/reset computer, printer and router.
We now have an IP address and test print pages worked fine. However, we have not seen the two jobs in the eprint queue come through. We tried sending another one and got an email with the error message that eprint is busy printing other jobs.
Do we need to clear the queue or do something else?

Alright. Let's try this next. Before doing these steps, make sure you have all of the "Pending" jobs cleared out of the print queue.
First, disconnect the power cord from the back of your router.
Next disconnect the power cord from either the back of the printer or the wall, without powering it off first.
Wait about 30 seconds and reconnect the power cord to your router.
Wait about another 30 seconds and plug the printer back in. It should boot back up automatically, but if it doesn't go ahead and press the power button.
Once everything is back up and running, try to send another ePrint.
If this doesn't work for you, reply back in this thread with model of printer you have so that I can give you the next set of steps.

  • Who clear the import queue?

    Hello,
The import queue at our site was cleared by someone. I recovered the queue from backup but would like to know if there is a way to discover who cleared the list?
    TIA,
    Yossef

There is more than one way how an import queue might have been deleted.
The file may have been deleted or emptied at OS level, by tp command or other operating system commands. Follow Rishi's advice to investigate further.
All the transports may have been deleted from the queue by means of transaction STMS. In this case you may find out from the transport protocols the time when this happened. Then you may find out who called STMS at that time by transaction STAD.
    hope this helps
