  • Object Type & Catalog profile

    Hi PM Gurus,
I have created 100 object type in my company, now i want to create catalog porfile against that.Is it right to copy all the 100 object type and create catalog profile against those.either there is any other way for creating catalog profile. What is the best way to shorten our task by consider the total asset family
    AR

    Hi Amit Rana,
You have created 100 object type in your company, the object type & class can be same.Say example Pump,Motor, gearbox like that.If you create the Catlogue profile with this 100 object type then it will be very critical for the users to search & select the object list in those 100 list.
So better you can create the object part in catlogue specific to the business identification say example in object type if you create as centrifugal pump, reciprocating pump.then no need to create 2 different object type in catlogue, you can specify as the Pump only.
So it is depend on how it is user friendly to your users to classify the fault.
There is no hard &  fast rule in this. But try to classify as minimal.

    Raj.

  • Catalog profile of QN plant wise

We have requirement that for diff plant our business want diff defect code of Notification.
Like we have created catalog profile X1 for QN type Q1. Now Q1 is used in two diff plant 0101 & 0102.
Now our business want 0101 defect code should not appear in QM01- Q1 of 0102 plant & vice versa.
Note - Here they don't want to create diff. catalog profile.
Reply would be awarded with point.
    Tom.

For this kind of scenario, maintain two notification types (Copy of Q1) for diffeent plants...in doing this you can also achieve plant wise complaints report through standard.

  • Search option in catalog selection in maintenance notification item, object

    Dear Experts,
I have a problem to search & choose the relevent catalog codes in maintenance notification item,  in catalog selection pop up when F4 done on object part. Is there any setting to find the relevent codes from the cataloge selection screen or any setting for the FIND option availabilty on the catalog selection pop up.
    We are using ECC 5.0.
    Kindly provide the solution.
    Regards,
    Tushar

    Tushar,
Your emphasis is on Relevant Codes. This means codes relevant to the Technical Object (Equipment or Functional Location)
For this purpose only SAP has given the functionality Catalog Profile.
Create a Catalog Profile  (OQN6) in which you mention the codes relevant to the technical object.
Now mention this Catalog Profile in the Organisation tab of the Technical object. (Equipment or Functional Location).
After this whenever you create a notification on such Equipments/FLs, you will get only those catalogs which you've mentioned in the Catalog Profile
    Hope this helps you.
    Regards
    Jogeswara Rao
PS: Creating a catalog Profile is a IMG activity, which you have to do in Client 200> generate a request> and transport this request to the client of your working.

  • Customizing catalog profiles in  notification and work orders

    Hi all,
I have been trying to figure out two problems:
1- I would like to add one more catalog code to notification; therefore, there will be object part, damage, cause and activity. I would like to make this like a picture posted below. Catalogs in tab is not feasible and easy to enter.
2- Is it possible to show all catalogs (object-damage-cause-activity) in work order tab? There are only two catalogs and I would like to add two more.
    Regards,
    Selçuk - Maintenance Planner

    Hi Selcuk,
    1. This is a standard screen area (015), which can not be modified.
So you need to go fro screen-Exit to have a screen area with Activity fields under this one. Obviously Coding will be done in PBO and PAI to input values of the Z-fields to the real activity fields of the table (VIQMMA).
Screen-Exit in Enhancement QQMA0001 will help.
    2. Similarly, for Order issue too you need to take help of Enhancement (Screen-Exits) IWO10018.
Both jobs will be deep technical jobs.
I do not see alternative ways other than developments for these requirements.

  • Need an help to maintain catalog structure for objects parts, defects, causes, activities and coding in one z table

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to create a z table with the same fields repeating for the development in PM module.
I want to have Catalog structure (Catalog,Code group,Code) for objects parts, defects, causes, activities and coding in one z table.Firstly I have created these fields by selecting it from QPCD table. Then as I want the same functionality as it is in IW21 (PM Notification) I created the fields by referring to VIQMFE, VIQMUR , VIQMEL and VIQMMA as in IW21.
    1) However, I am not able to maintain the values.Once I select catalog structure for object parts and then when I am selecting it for defects the search help is still taking the object parts value in it and not allowing me to get the relevant data and also to maintain the data.
I feel the problem is of check table as all the fields are referring  to the same check tables TQ15 , QPGR and QPCD but I am not getting the exact solution.
Please find attach the screen shot of the table I have created and also the error I am getting while maintaining the values.
    Please do the needful.

  • Catalog Profile

    Hi gurus,
I am just trying to create Catalog Profie. Clent Requirements is foe example i am cretaing one catalog of crane . Crane as catalog profile. Now i ahve maintained all object parts for crane using qs4, similarily damage and causes.
now when i am updating history in Notification, I have selectedone object part let say hose , so damage and causes related to hose only should come in drop down.so that only user should update history for hose only not for others. here i am getting complete list. how can i manage it.

    Hi
Its not possible in standard SAP....
I am not sure how much this gonna be useful for u....
Object defects, damage, cause.... dont not have co-relation.... every thing has to be entered and saved separately...
If u say... they have relation... then we can do the way u want...
All these are individual things... which u club together in as catalog profile

  • Catalog profile for a equipment

    Hi
We have following structure defining our Effluent treatment Plant (ETP)
    Plant Section: Utility
    Functional Location: Water Treatment System
    Equipment: ETP
In order to create Catalog profile for this equipment we have created Object Parts as mentioned below:
    Aeration System
    Dosing System
    pumping System
There are further sub parts in each of these object part for example: in Aeration system we have Blower-1, Blower-2
The question is how to configure these Blower-1 Blower-2 so that we can specify breakdowns against these parts.
    Regards,
    Ram

    Hello Mr. Ram,
I think we discussed exactly similar thing in the previous query. We can continue this for more clarity. I am clear about your situation and assuming that your configuration is irreversible. But if you have created the
        Aeration System
        Dosing System
        pumping System
as Object part codes, then you should change that. you should have these as CodeGroups with labels such as AERNSYS, DOSGSYS and PUMPSYS.
Now under AERNSYS you will have BL01, BL02 codes for Blower1 and Blower2.
When you create Breakdown Notification on Blower1 of aeration system, You go to Catalogs& Codes tab of Notification and Select the Object part Code Group as AERNSYS and you will get the dropdown Bl01, BL02 for filling the code field. Select BL01. Thus all the information filled in this Notification belong to this Blower1 of aeration system of your ETP. You have standard reports such as IW69. Hope you understood.

  • Object Part analysis in PMIS reports

    Dear PM guys,
Is there is any standard report for the object part which we are keying in notification.I hope reports are there for Damage and Causes of damage.Eg in object, Iam having Genset and under which cooling pump, engine, turbo charges etc are there and I want to see no of Notifications/Orders created on all object parts for one month.
    Regards
    ISWARI

    hi iswari
why can't you use these T codes
    MCI3 - PMIS: Location Analysis
MCI5 - PMIS: Single Object - Damage Analysis
MCI4 - PMIS: Planner Group Analysis
MCI1 - PMIS: Object Class Analysis
you can get the reports on all the objects by using multiple selection in the report,or if the all the objects are with similar planner group i think you can use MCI4

  • CODE GROUP( Catalog Profile )

    Hi Sapient,
Is it possible to assign more no. of code group with a single catalog type like damage ( Catalog type "C" ) for a single equipment only.If it is possible then can anyone tell me how to creat the same and display it.
    Regards,
    AR.
Edited by: Amit  Rana on Apr 14, 2009 10:26 AM

    Hi,
You can creat multiple code groups within same catalog. But when you define catalog profile for technical object you need to  include all those code groups which you want to be available. If you want to include multiple then you need to put each code group against related catalog in catalog profile or add * for given catalog to include all code groups defined for damage catalog.

  • Changing the catalog profile when creating a QN FROM ACTION BOX in transaction QM02

    Hi All,
When I create a quality notification from the action box in transaction QM02, the catalog profile is fetched from the material master. I want this changed so that the catalog profile is
always copied from the QN being preocessed in QM02. (current QN)
I am not able to locate the code where the catalog profile for the new QN(QN being created) is fetched from the material master.
If I change the catalog profile in the material master, it works, but that is not a solution for me.
Need the exact point where I can pass in a different catalog code.
Also, I do not see the new QN number anywhere while debugging.
PS: The QN is being created from the action box in transaction QM02 and not from transaction QM01.
