Notification on history changes
Hi all,
we have some users have the rights modifying some parts in ServiceManager on properties of differet Configuration Items. Now it would be great if the Administration reach an Mail on defined (not all) propierties changed. Like a filter on Keyword on the General
available history. Always with oldValue -->NewValue.
Is here somthing possible? I tried to realize this with Powershell and SCORch but all do not work :-(
Perfect would be if some users could be take out ... this users are trusted and there is no Need for an ChangeMail on Object!
Please give a Little help for me :-)
many Thanks
I have not the data for Configuration items in it...it is only for incidents!
And the same logs for different Configuration Items like Servers and so on are in really bad Quality for bulding alerts. And a realtion to the user i cannot find, too.
General i´m not so happy in triggering somthing directly out of DB...do you Trigger for your incident this in the named way?

The Message "Connect to iTunes to Use Push Notifications "BBC History Magazine" notifications may include alerts, sounds and icon badges" keeps coming up in Newstand, also happens with National Geographic Magazine. HELP!
I have now followed multiple instructions from this and other forums. have turned push notifications off. Turned them on. Have updated to IOS 6. Have signed out and signed back in, have uninstalled all magazines and reinstalled. Have synced, and updated everything in iTunes.
Nothing works,. Also cannot use youtube.Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
It might also be a good idea to contact Square for assistance. -

Database tool for routing table history changes
Dear Community, I'm looking for a freeware tool to hold history changes in routing tables for small to medium network running BGP, OSPF and MPLS VPN routing tables via VRFs. This tool need a way to compare the database in order to know if these are the same during the time.
Is there a way to do this in Cisco Works?
Thanks in advances for your recommendations.Julius,
There are no industry recommended open source DB tools.
Normally it depends upon the developer preferences that how he/she wants to see the tool usability.
I can suggest you to go through the below link:
http://sourceforge.net/search/?type_of_search=soft&words=SQL+Tools
You can find many open source SQL tools, which you have to test and select one among them.
I can suggest you to use:
1) TOra
2) Easy SQL
3) SQuirrel

View of Date track history change field summary
Hi experts,
In Oracle HRMS, we have the function "Date Track History" in People/assignment. In the summary window of Date Track history, we have column which is named "Change Field Summary". For reporting purpose, I am looking for the view/function/package/... which can show type of data.
For example:
- If I give certain assignment number/assignment id, view/function can return "Birth Date, Full Name, Known As" in "Change Field Summary".
Thanks in advance.
Hieu
Edited by: user122479 on Jan 26, 2013 10:43 PMHi Vigneswar,
Thanks for reponse.
The view PER_ASSIGNMENT_HISTORY_VIEW shows data changes in columns, it is similiar with HRFV_PERSON_ASSIGNMENT_HISTORY view. However It does not show us which columns were changed like in "Date track history change field summary" window. I don't have access to Unix server, so that I can't do the trace stuff.
Thanks and Regards,
Hieu

Tech tool pro is giving me a list of four playlists with unrepairable errors. Should I delete them, try to find them somewhere in my Time Machine backup or just ignore them? I have listed them below. Everything seems to work but I have nearly 20 000 pictures.

Aperture Library.aplibrary/Database/History/Changes/
Hello everyone, i've recently had some trouble with corrupted Aperture library. This has all been fixed now however in the process of trying to fix things up I stumbled accross Aperture Library.aplibrary/Database/History/Changes/ folder - I've been trying to clear some space from my HDD and notice that this folder is enourmous. Almost as large as the preview, master or thumbnail folders.
It measures over 40gb which accounts for over 20 per cent of my library size. What excectly does this folder do (Aperture Library.aplibrary/Database/History/Changes). There a hundreds of plist files measuring several 100mb each.
I know I can safely delete things like preview and thumbnail and rebuilt the database however have been hestitant to touch this folder as I don't know what it does. Can someone shed some light on the purpose of this folder. Google searches have just come up with threads about disk warrior reporting the folder as having errors but doesn't say what the folder does. Can I delete to save space? I'm concerned this folder contains the changes made to masters meaning i can't revered changes in the versions.Just as a test I took one of my libraries that I do this sort of thing to and removed the Changes folder and ran Aperture on the library. Aperture worked fine. The library behaved just as expected.
I've never paid much attention to this folder before and it's not clear just what 'changes' they are referring to but I wouldn;t get to worked up about it. Just make sure you have good working backups (as you should have anyway) and remember the next time you run DiskWarrior you'll probably see these errors.

BGP Notification received, configuration change
Hi,
We are monitoring a BGP peering flap for a fraction of seconds approximately every three days for a particular neighbor. We are seeing this behavior consistently for a Month.
Jun 10 08:55:15.566 NST: bgp[1041]: %ROUTING-BGP-5-ADJCHANGE : neighbor x.x.x.x Down - BGP Notification received, configuration change (VRF: default)
Jun 10 08:55:15.565 NST: bgp[1041]: %ROUTING-BGP-5-NBR_NSR_DISABLED_STANDBY : NSR disabled on neighbor x.x.x.x on standby due to BGP Notification received (VRF: default)
Would like to know what does the error messge indicates "BGP Notification received, configuration change"There might be a clue in the bgp trace on the device that experienced this condition:
show bgp trace and look around the time of the notification down.
Depending on what is on the other side, I think that hte investigation is better done on that node as that was the originator of the change hence bringing the peer down.
This can be as simple as an address family add or remove, things like that. When capabilities of a peer change, they have to bring down the peering since they are only sent in the OPEN message.
IF it is very periodic, I would also verify and check what might be happening during those time windows, especially on the peer. Maybe there is a config script that could induce things.
If that peer is an XR device, the bgp trace will be very helpful in that regard.
If itis an IOS device, then maybe you need to keep running some debug bgp event for around the time that you expect this flap, and a syslog analysis (sh log) around that time for clues.

Server Monitor Notifications - Drive Status Changed - Time Machine
I'm using an Xserve as a file server for a small workgroup . It has a Raid 1 set which is being backed up via Time Machine to an attached disk array.
Whenever Time Machine runs (every hour), I get two notifications from Server Monitor that the drive status has changed:
*Reason(s) for notification:*
*Drive status changed*
The timestamps on the notifications coincide with these messages in system.log
Feb 2 11:28:05 ciesaxserve2 Server Monitor[854]: * _NSSocket.m:243 read() failed; socket=0x197060 error=(NSPOSIXErrorDomain,61)
Feb 2 11:28:05 ciesaxserve2 Server Monitor[854]: * _NSSocket.m:243 write() failed; socket=0x197060 error=(NSPOSIXErrorDomain,61)
Feb 2 11:28:05 ciesaxserve2 Server Monitor[854]: * _NSSocket.m:243 read() failed; socket=0x2090e90 error=(NSPOSIXErrorDomain,61)
Feb 2 11:28:05 ciesaxserve2 Server Monitor[854]: * _NSSocket.m:243 write() failed; socket=0x2090e90 error=(NSPOSIXErrorDomain,61)
and:
Feb 2 11:28:55 ciesaxserve2 servermgrd[78]: servermgr_backup: TimeMachinePostBackupHook called.
Feb 2 11:28:55 ciesaxserve2 servermgrd[78]: servermgr_backup: TimeMachinePostBackupHook done.
The notifications simply report that all is normal, and the number of available drives goes from 6, to 7, back to 6. Something to do with making the backup volume available, I presume.
I would like to disable these specific messages. I realize I can disable all messages from server monitor regarding disk statuses, but then I would be turning off messages about failures and actual problems.
Is there a config I can edit which will only alert me to actual problems? I'd like to stop getting 48 emails each day; reduce the noise and increase the signal.I know this post is old but this has recently cropped up for me. I have been backing up with Time Machine for months without a single alert. It started happening after I replaced the failed battery on my RAID card. A coincidence...however the prolonged down time surely caused an SMC (and perhaps PRAM) reset which I assume triggered the change in behavior.
I've pinned it down to Time Machine backing up service settings, in particular the Open Directory archive. Time Machine backs up all the service data independently from the rest of the data on your server startup volume.

You can see this data in Terminal.
serveradmin$ cd /Volumes/[YourBackupVolume]/Backups.backupdb/[YourServerName]/Latest/[YourBootVolume]/.ServerBackups

-rw-r--r--@ 1 root admin 249 4 Jun 15:32 openDirectory.browse.plist
The ServerBackup_OpenDirectoryMaster.sparseimage contains an archive of your Open Directory database like the one you create from Server Admin. The only difference is that it appears to be unencrypted. This is a bit worrying since Snow Leopard, as far as I know, does not have an option to encrypt your Time Machine backup. This image seems to invisibly mount whenever a Time Machine backup is triggered. This can be verified by checking /private/var/log/system.log and filtering for backup
serveradmin$ tail -b 100 /var/log/system.log | grep backup

You can see at 16:00:56 Server Manager got a call from Time Machine to start the services backup and finished at 16:09:26. Open Directory would have been backed up during that process. Take a look at /private/var/log/hwmond.log
serveradmin$ tail /private/var/log/hwmond.log
Tue Jun 4 16:08:36 BST 2013 - Number of drives change from 4 to 5.
Tue Jun 4 16:08:48 BST 2013 - Number of drives change from 5 to 4.
You'll see that both drive change warnings from Server Monitor occured just before the services backup completed. You can also use the sudo diskarbitrationd -d command along with tail /private/var/log/diskarbitrationd.log in another terminal window, trigger a Time Machine backup manually and watch this disk image mount during the backup process. Compare the mount times with the above logs to see if they all match up.
Although I have discovered the cause (which thankfully seems harmless) I have not discovered a way to stop it from generating pointless alerts. I'll post here if I figure it out. I am in the process of upgrading all of my servers to Mountain Lion so it may be a moot point. I am hopeful this information may help someone out there even though it is thoroughly out of date.

No notification for volume change on XFCE 4.8 with alsa
After clean arch x86_64 install with xfce4.8 desktop i cant get notification when i change volume on my Audigy4 soundcard. I used to have it on my old install and lastes package updates. I know xfce4-notifyd works since it notifies sond cange for example but not volume change either trough alsamicer or xfce4-mixer.
I give up an idea to install all these things from AUR, I downloaded instead packages from launchpad: xfce4-indicator-plugin, indicator-applet, indicator in versions that are oryginally in Xubuntu 11.04.
So compilling libindicator3 from sources just works fine, no problems accured.
But things got complicated when I was trying to install indicator applet, here is output:
configure: error: Package requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 2.12
x11
libpanelapplet-3.0
indicator >= 0.3.22) were not met:
No package 'libpanelapplet-3.0' found
No package 'indicator' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables APPLET_CFLAGS
and APPLET_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
I've installed gnome-panel-3.0 but nothing helped with libpanelapplet-3.0 missing package, and also 'indicator' package is missing.. I don't know how to get it, I've got libindicator3 package installed..
My speculations are that problem accurs becouse Indicator in Xubuntu 11.04 using gtk 2.0 and Arch got gtk 3.0 on board.. But on the other hand whole Xfce 4.8 is gtk 2.0 and It's running both applications on 3.0 & 2.0. If I found a solution I'll post it here. Please post your ideas to solve this problem, I think it might be usefull for some people
EDIT: I've just managed to install libindicator3 and indicator-applet. Still fighting with xfce4-indicator-applet. It says that package 'indicator' is not installed.
EDIT: Finally! I have libindicator 0.3.22 and Xfce4-applet-plugin installed. But when I'm compilling indicator-applet I've got following error:
No package 'libpanelapplet-3.0' found

Assignment Date Track History-Changed Field Summary
Hi all,
We have Oracle HR 11.5.7 FP.G.
In the HRMS there is a for the Employee's Assignment Date Track History showing the Changed Field Summary.
We want to specify the exact field(s) changed in Assignment for a period using SQL or Discoverer for Reporting Purposes.
Does anyone have any sample coding or idea on how to perform this? That is to specify exactly what fields changed in an assignment change.
What I can think of is to compare values but I'm not sure how I can get the desired result.
I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanking you in advance
ElenaElena,
To meet you're requirement: changes per person during a period
- done this before using audit trail, be aware that the reports that comes out standard, does not resemble anything a HR user can read. Quite often it says this ID has change to that ID. Building a reports that changes this into something meaning full for a HR/Payroll person does require a considerable effort.
- using the change event log (system extract) or the retro notification report (payroll) will give you're results in a better format. Problem you may encounter here, is that not all entities are available (by default). You may have to add some dynamic triggers.
- if you want to understand how the datetrack functionality is deriving the data, this paper on metalink may help : Create and Modify DateTrack History Views Note:177734.1 -
Extended Notifications: how to change the URL link
Hello,
We are on ECC6. We use Extended Notifications to alert users to the presence of new workitems, but when they click on the link to execute the workitem, they're presented with the login screen.
We have been able to send emails from workflow which contain a link that does not ask for a login so I know which URL to use. The problem is, how can you set the URL in Extended Notifications? How does it decide which URL to use? I've tried changing a few General Settings in SWNCONFIG, none of them made a difference.
Any hints, tips, suggestions would be appreciated.
regards
Rick Bakker
Hanabi TechnologyHi Rick,
I wrote my own notification handler to solved an link issue (wanted to point to a specific iView url). I changed the notification handler via Category and double clicking on the category:
Scenario WORKFLOW
Category ZCATEGORY
Description Adobe Administrator
Requested Reliability 0 Undefined
Collective Message A Grouping with Othe
Notification Priority 5 Medium
Delete After Send
Category Handler CL_SWN_CATEGORY
Notification Handler ZCL_SWN_NOTIF_WF
Handler for User CL_SWN_USER_STD
Have a look at some of the methods:
LOAD_INSTANCE_WA
ADD_LINKS_ACTION
ADD_LINK_ACTION_DISPLAY
ADD_LINK_ACTION_EXECUTE
ADD_LINK_ACTION_DECISION
CREATE_ACTION_ATTACHMENT
CREATE_INBOX_ATTACHMENT
Hope it helps you understand how the link is created. -
My notification settings keep changing on my exchange email account.
For some reason, the notification settings on my work email account keep getting changed without my knowledge. I have it setup to alert me with a banner, in the notification center and on the lock screen. However, twice in the last 5 weeks this has changed so I only have the badge app icon, no other notifications.
How can these settings just change like that, and how do I keep them consistent going forward?

Headphones stop working after a certain time and the notification for sound change has disappeared
HP Pavilion dv6-6176sa
Win7 64bit.
I have a Pavilion dv6, and occasionally no sound will go through headphones when the jack is plugged in. The headphones themselves are not at fault, they are brand new and work fine.
When the headphones are plugged in, the sound will only go through the laptop speakers. I've tried updating the drivers, fiddling with the jack and socket (as I read on google), the only resolution I have found is to restart the comp, which is a bit of a pisstake in all fairness and I'd rather not do that every time it happens.
5 minutes ago I was watching a TV show, listening through the headphones, when I pulled out my USB mouse (and accidentally the charger with it). The sound then switched from the headphones to the speaker.
If I open the sound settings, it will display the headphones as being plugged in, but the sound indicator bar (thingy) will only rise and fall on the speaker icon bar.
Currently I have the audio jack pulled out about a centimetre, this allows sound through the headphones, but the sound is noticeably different to what it should be.
I had rolled it back to "High Definition Audio Device", then reinstalled it to the most current driver. This hasn't fixed it.
Also, this may be a related issue: (I guess) around the same time, the beats audio notification that pops up on screen when the volume is changed has disappeared and doesn't display when the volume has changed.
In microsoft sound control panel, it has the default speakers and the headphone logo, when i plug in the jack, a green phone circle thing appears by the headphone option, meaning it works i guess. However, the description changes from "ready" to "default communications device" and nothing changes for the regular speaker device.
When I go to >configure, and test each (L/R) speaker, if the headphones are plugged in, the noise is louder then when they're not plugged it
But yeah, brand new headphones, brand new laptop, it's mad. What's madder is that the headphones will work for x amount of time, then stop working when I next try to use them...bump...
