Notification origin

Hi,
When I close the notification, I get a popup to choose if its internal or external origin. I need to get more detail as to who is reponsible for the defect. For eg if its external then it could be the distributor, the manufacturer, the transport agency and if its internal it could be someone at receiving, someone in the warehouse. How do I record that ? Ideally I would like to assign the actual vendor, manufacturer, transport agency's ID or the internal person's ID who caused the actual defect after the notification is complete. How is the best way to do this so that I could run reports on that and see who is giving me maximum number of defects ?
Thanks

Check if you can use defect location code groups for this. If you refer to QM15 report following texts and codes are visible.
Code group of Defect Location
Code Group description of Defect Location
Code of Defect Location
Code description of Defect Location
Above set will be common (for logic) for catalogs of defects, causes, tasks, activities at item level and coding at header level.
What I can suggest is to explore whether all these have been properly utilized or not and try to set the logic of codes so that the individual code or code group will make some sense for reporting.
I doubt at the last instance of notification closure it will be possible or not but I can give 1 example by which this can be mapped. Create 2 code groups- One for Internal Origin and another for External Origin  under defect location catalog. The agencies responsible for externals factors would be the codes of External Origin code group. Same way for internal.
Else you need to go with custome screen mapping and new Z table creations to store the information. When you click on internal or external radio button at the time of notification closure it will take you to different screen say vendor code screen from where you can choose required entry. Earlier option is more advisable, I would say!

  • Completing quality notifications in bulk

    Hi Guys
I need to change the system status of quality notifications (+/-500 000 records) to:
    NOCO and
    DLFL
We’re using SAP ECC6 EHP6. Please guide me to a standard SAP tcode/program that can be used for bulk/mass system status changes (QM10 will require manual actions and is therefore not suitable).
    Notification origin = Q3
    Notification category = 02
    Best regards
    W

    Hello,
Yes same i was told you that in PM/CS such facility is available bcoz notification is linked with costing object like order and those needs to closed before month end for settlement. But in QM there is no such criticality and that's why SAP not provides mass closure.
Yes u cane use LSMW, eCatt and BDC like functionality for this in QM.

  • LMS 4.2 - Two notifications for one alarm.

Currently when a device, say a router goes offline we receive two Active 'Unresponsive' alarms for the router and then when it comes back online we receive two Cleared 'Unresponsive' alarms. All have their own unique Event ID. (shown below)
I was wondering if anyone could help me to config LMS to send only one Active 'Unresponsive' notification when a device is offline and then one Cleared 'Unresponsive' when the device is back online.
Here's an example of the Active 'Unresponsive' alarms I receive when I power the router off:

  • How is table TQ80 (Notification Types) maintained?

    Hello experts!
For SAP Business Intelligence we have a standard interface (extractor) which extracts quality notification data. But only data from tables QMEL, QMFE, ... is extracted which has the origin of notification Q1, Q2, Q3.
This is selected over field HERKZ in table TQ80.
Please could you tell me what could be the business reason for this?
Can someone tell me how to maintain this table? Maybe over customizing?

    hi
Notification origin is used for screen sequence and differentiate the notification in respective moduel ,in case of QM it is qualtiy notification ,where as in PM it is maintenance notification which is further classified as malfuntion ,maintenance report etc.
it is predefined by SAP ,if you are creating new notification type you have to assign any one of the origin and create

  • Definning Notification Types

    Hi All,
i would like to know how could i create a new combination of notification category with notification origin, to use 03 - Service Notification and Q1 Customer complaint and enable the "Defect Class" field.
    Thanks in advance,
    Gustavo Carvalheira

    hi
Notification category are not configurable, those are defined in the system & u can select the appropriate
We can define only Notification types.
generally you get these data in Q1 notif type.
if you want new one with all detailes mentioned by you then you need to do the IMG settings.
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service->Maintenance and Service Processing->Overview of Notification Type.
here you need to create a new notif type and then add the
    screen
    1.Screen Areas in Notification Header
Screen type hdr H500 Header quality notification
ScrnType Object O500 Object for customer complaint / batch
    2.Screen Structure for Extended View
    3.Screen Structure for Simplified View
    etc...
and when you go to create the notification type from Define Notification Types, there based notification origin the system selects the catagory

  • Create SAP Notification?

Is there any scenario to create a notification with out eqipment and functional location?

    Hi
You want to create a Notification for Equipment or functional location which are Not in use or Out of calibration. This is possible through Maintainca type of Notification.
    SPRO->Maintainace & S.P>mainatainace & service processing->mainatainace & service Notification->Notification Creation ->Notification type>Define Notification.
    Specify Notification origine-->malfunction report
In addition that in Equipment master or functional location master you can define a status which is will specfify :Out of calibration or Not in Use so that ,this equipmnet will not be scheduled for calibraion /maintainance.

  • Seeburger AS2 MDN: Reading AS2 Header DATE field

    Hello,
in my AS2 scenario (using Seeburger Adapter) I forward MDN messages to PI. Now I have the requirement to read the "DATE" field of the MDN AS2 Header an map it to a target field.
In the XML message monitoring there are two payload messages:
    AckReport (application/xml) and
    RAWMIMEMDN (application/octet-stream)
In the message RAWMIMEMDN I see the header data and also the DATE field, now the question is, can I use the RAWMIMEMDN somehow to extract the DATE field?
    Thank you for your input.

Looks like this: (However I am not sure how to use it in mapping as there are two PAYLOADS entries in SXMB, I have not seen this in any other scenario before, I guess I only have access to the XML part):

  • LMS 4.2.3 Unidentified Trap Generic Trap:6 Specific Trap:1 EnterpriseOid:.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.41.2

    Hi All,
We are seeing unidentified traps continuously on the LMS 4.2.3.
    Unidentified Trap Generic Trap:6 Specific Trap:1 EnterpriseOid:.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.41.2
What are these traps and how to avoid the same. as these traps are coming from all the devices in the network.
    Regards,
    Channa

    Hello Channa,
the 'Unidentified Trap' Alerts that you provided :
NOTIFICATION ORIGINATOR = Fault Management Module
The EnterpriseOid in this Alert tells me that this is the cisco syslog trap :
    .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.41.2.0.1
    clogMessageGenerated OBJECT-TYPE
            -- FROM CISCO-SYSLOG-MIB
            TRAP
            VARBINDS       { clogHistFacility, clogHistSeverity,
    clogHistMsgName, clogHistMsgText, clogHistTimestamp }
DESCRIPTION    "When a syslog message is generated by the device a
                   clogMessageGenerated notification is sent.  The
sending of these notifications can be enabled/disabled
                   via the clogNotificationsEnabled object."
This tells me that you have configured this device with 'snmp-server enable trap syslog' , which means that every syslog message that is generated on the device will also be sent as an snmp trap.
Is there a specific reason why the sending of syslog messages as an snmp trap has been enabled on this device (and others) ?
To stop LMS generating an Alert for every syslog message I would recommend that you disable this device from sending syslog traps to LMS.  If there are multiple devices sending syslog traps to LMS then the sending of these traps to LMS should be disabled on all such devices.
    Thanks-
    Afroz
