Notification Service

Hi
I am not able to get the notification services when I choose SystemAdministrator->Knowledge Management->Content Management-> Global Services .I have EP 6.0 with KMC SP11 on WAS 6.40 Netweaver 04. Do I need to configure anything to get all the Notification service? Any help will be appreciated.

I have found the Notificator services in the advance configuration option but wondering how I can configure this service with inbox services. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Windows 8.1 - Windows Couldn't connect to the System Event Notification Service service

I have an issue that has been bothering me for a while on new 8.1 computers. Standard users are not able to log into the computer on the first try consistently. They receive the error message: Group Policy client service failed the sign-in access is
denied. They are stuck at the logon screen.
If an administrator logs in (local or domain), they can log in but get a black desktop with two error messages. The first is Location is Not available - C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. The second error message is a popup
balloon. It states "Failed to Connect to a Windows service. Windows couldn't connect to the System Event Notification Service service."
When a standard user attempts to log in, event viewer records three warnings. They are listed in order from oldest to newest
The winlogon notification subscriber <Profiles> was unavailable to handle a critical notification event. -Logged 9:14:44
The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> failed a critical notification event. - Logged 9:14:44
The winlogon notification subscriber <Profiles> was unavailable to handle a notification event. - Logged 9:14:49
After a reboot, users still have the issue. I noticed that the user profile services and system event notification service are not running though their startup type is automatic. They start after a minute or two.

    Hi Joseph__Moody,
Based on your description ,I assume it is a domain environment .First of all ,I would suggest you to try to update all the machine .
"I have an issue that has been bothering me for a while on new 8.1 computers"
Do you mean all the Windows 8.1 machine share the same symptom or just a specific one ?Did the machine work correctly before ?When did the issue start to occur ?Have you installed any third party software before ?Can we operate the machine when we login with
    an administrator account ?
If the issue occurred with the specific machine :
"The first is Location is Not available - C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable."
Please try the following suggestions if we can operate the machine when we login with the administrator account :
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile and verify if it has the Desktop folder there. If the folder doesn`t exit, we can copy from C:\users\Default\Desktop location(This folder is hidden by default).
We also can try the following suggestions to have a troubleshoot :
1.Run "sfc /scannow"or "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" to check the health of the system files.
2.Perform a full scan with an antivirus software.
3."They start after a minute or two."
I suspect there is a third party service confilct here. Please perform a clean boot to verify whether there is a third party conflict here .
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135
If the issue occurred with multiple machines in the domian ,I would suggest you to check whether you have configured any logon scripts and logon group policy .We can remove the machine from the domain to have  a troubleshoot .
If the issue occurred recently ,we can perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous normal point.
    Best regards

  • Notification Service in Web Dynpro for Java?

    Hello Experts,
I'm new on the topic "web dynpro for java" and have a question about a real-time-notification of web dynpro clients.
In web dynpro for abap ther is apparently a new solution called "Notification Service" (since NW 7.0 Ehp2).
    Details: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/elearn?rid=/library/uuid/f0802995-3433-2c10-2787-d7db51352891&overridelayout=true
But I found no hints how to solve the problem of a real-time notification in web dynpro for java.
Requirements for short: The server can trigger a refresh in one or more web dynpro clients.
    Requirements a liitle more extended:
    1. A web dynpro is running in a browser and shows data it gets from a DataBase table1
    2. Now a function module1 is started by an event and changes the data in table1 on the server side, the web dynpro does not know about this event or the changes made by external components.
    3. These changed data should be visible immediately in the running web dynpro after the event occurd --> trigger a refresh of the web dynpro from the function module1?
All I actually know is that: The web dynpro can update its context with the new data from table1 after a refresh of the gui (wddomodifiyview). Using a timed trigger I can get new data after x seconds (same way --> context update and gui refresh). Is there another way to refresh the web dynpro (that noticed requirements of #3) ?
    Regards,
    Anja Hormann

I recommend that you create another Web Dynpro application with this Timer to execute an RFC. This application would be in a Web Dynpro iView hidden from your SAP EP and shoot an event that would be captured by another application.
However I would take great care with this type of application.
And to answer your question at the moment, to my knowledge, there is no solution for this kind of integration between the ABAP and JAVA.
    regards,
    Angelo

  • WebDynpro Notification Service with multiple Application Servers

    Hello Experts,
I am currently working on a project where I have to integrate a BSP Application into a new Web Dynpro ABAP Application. On the BSP Page it is possible to edit some details (for example for a customer).
When the user start to work on the BSP Page, the Web Dynpro Page should prohibit the navigation (i.e. disable all links). After Saving the BSP page, the navigation lock is released and the Web Dynpro reloads some data, which were changed from the BSP Page.
I have a NetWeaver 7.02 so I decided to use Shared Objects and the new Web Dynpro Notification Service to realize the given requirements. On the development system everything worked fine. The Notification Service was called and it took about 2 Seconds until the Web Dynpro Application updated.
But we got serious problems on the testmachine, which uses a Web Dispatcher and two application servers. After some research we managed that the application is running, and works.
But the Notification Service takes now up to 1 Minute until it fires the registered actions. And I good frequently an ASSERTION_FAILED from the method CL_WDR_NOTIFICATION=>ATTACH_FOR_READ in the ST22 as long as the application is running.
Can anybody help me how to solve this issue. It is a real blocker for the project.
If there is another way to establish eventing between Web Dynpro and BSP I would also go for another solution. But I don't think there are many other possibilities (SAP Portal and NWBC are no options - Maybe the new Web Dynpro PageBuilder?).
    Best Regards
    Daniel

    Hello Guys,
we decided to do a workaround for the moment. We use a refresh button on the Web Dynpro screen. That is not very nice, but sufficient for the moment.
Anyway: I am still interessted in the BSP-Web Dynpro Interaction Issue. So if somebody has any ideas, please let me know.
@PageBuilder: Currently the page builder does not work on the system, because of an 403 - Error when I try to call the Application-Configurator (the SICF service is active). But I will try this also as soon as this problem is solved.
    Best regards
    Daniel

  • Using AIA for Error Handling. Logging and Notification Services

    hi,
In our project we usie OSB and BPEL for integrating different applications.
There is a suggestion that we should use AIA to just use the Error Handling, Logging and Notification services from AIA. I am not sure about this use case, as most of these services mentioned can be replicated in BPEL. Except for the AIAAsyncExceptionHandling BPEL process, i guess all other functionalties provided by AIA can be easily developed in BPEL or OSB alone.
However, would like to hear from you guys about this particular use case. Is it advisable?

  • In the Apple Push Notification Service,How long does a push notification sit in queue before being removed?

Official developer documentation isn't clear about this.
Apple Push Notification Service includes a default Quality of Service (QoS) component that performs a store-and-forward function. If APNs attempts to deliver a notification but the device is offline, the QoS stores the notification. It retains only one notification per application on a device: the last notification received from a provider for that application. When the offline device later reconnects, the QoS forwards the stored notification to the device. The QoS retains a notification for a limited period before deleting it.

This is an iPad user to user forum, so you are not addressing Apple. We have no way to know what and when Apple will do something.

  • Queries on Event Notification Service

    Hi,
I have installed the System Messaging Server 6 2005Q1 in Linux and wish to use the Event Notification Service for the Mail Server. I have the following queries on the ENS
    1) Does it follow the SUBSCRIBE/NOTIFY dialog under SIP?
    2) The enp:// type url used for subscription and notification refer to Event Notification Protocol or is it something proprietary to SUN ENS?
    Regds,
    N.Ramki

    Hi,
I wished to check on the notifyplugin parameters set for the ENS and used the configutil tool
    ./configutil -o local.store.notifyplugin.<eventType>.enable
and for none of the event types (newMsg, ReadMsg etc) any value was returned.
Could we add these parameters and the value we wish to set using the configutil? Or are there other means of doing it?
    Regds,

  • SQL Server Notification Services Removed from SQL Server 2008

It comes as no surprise to us that 2008 will not be supporting notification services.  Several years ago our company developed our product line of alerting applications and gave some long and serious thought into using SQL Notification services.
Besides the fact that the NS desktop alerting component itself was rather bland/limited, (an acknowledge button, image, hyperlink) at the time it just made no sense to create a core component of the business plan around such a 3rd party dependent widget.
While a look at this MS page shows only a few companies who have built alerting systems around NS,
    http://www.microsoft.com/sql/technologies/notification/partners/appsoftware.mspx
….there is actually quite a few companies who have done this and must now consider a total rewrite of their alert system.
Quite frankly, looking forward at MS's new family of Communications servers,
    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/office/aa905499.aspx
I am not sure that things are changing much.
"Welcome to the Microsoft Office Live Communications Server developers' home on MSDN. Live Communications Server 2005 provides your business with an enterprise-ready instant messaging, presence awareness, and an extensible platform that connects people, information, and business processes—enabling better decisions faster."
    Remember this?
MSN Buys MessageCast for Real-Time Alerts
    http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Messaging-and-Collaboration/MSN-Buys-MessageCast-for-RealTime-Alerts/
MessageCast was a serious product on the up.  They sold out and poof.  The whole fiasco was a joke.
As it pertains to alerting platforms, the good call just may be having a architecture that is somewhat autonomous ( i.e.  Ok, perhaps Windows OS, .Net Framework and SQL Server as prerequisites is ok) to MS embedded components and not reliant on “Live Server" licenses.  Seems like just a better bet hands down all day long.
I can tell you that about 5% of all alerts our clients create are sent to inform end users “Exchange is Down”.  It’s hard to get a OutLook Desktop Alert when Exchange is down.
So, an alert system designed from scratch in-house (the hard way) may just be the heads up alert your customer needs to see.  If for nothing else, you can control your products destiny….unless of course MS Windows is made obsolete.  <wink>  Unlikely.  Hey....without MS products, we would not be in business.  They make some of the best software in the world.  But that does not mean your campany is not capable of the same.

I'm coming to the discussion of the fate of Notification Services a bit late as it is now December. It is my view that Microsoft should rethink its position on Notification Services, and should continue to support and evolve it until such time as it might be migrated to the future "alerting" solution Microsoft devises for at least the following 2 reasons:
    (1) Notification Services addresses an enterprise application integration need complementary to Microsoft's web service strategy. This is a place Microsoft has not gone before, but needs to go. Why? EAI vendors won't modify their infrastructure to make them web service oriented ... they can't because it is legacy. Instead, they try to buy something and attach it to legacy ... but that doesn't work too well. Microsoft already has started/built greenfield. Further, Microsoft has commoditized such so that with notification services and its other .NET-based products (at least they evolve to such) a full complement of architectural components is being or has been assembled. Why would Microsoft make such an investment ... across the portfolio of server products ... and then back off of it? Microsoft has not been in the enterprise space before to the degree it has wished. It has intimated, at least, that it will be at the periphery with its variety of services and products. An integration broker is necessary for success at the periphery, and it provides a bridge to the enterprise back office that has the property of loose coupling, which is both good for Microsoft and its clients.
    (2) Microsoft claims to be working to develop a server platform suitable to provision notification services. This server platform could be productized as Microsoft intends, and then notification services could be made to work on that platform and then it could be open sourced. If Microsoft intends to provide a kind of application server foundation that would make it possible for non-Microsoft development teams to build out services on a Microsoft stack that can be hosted with the same set of services as, say, IIS, Biztalk, SQL Server, etc., then it seems that Notification Services could easily be migrated to this server framework once such is ready for prime time. Functional expansion of such could be accomplished by an open source community if Microsoft chooses to not further extend it on its own dime ... maybe even on its own nickel.
I've read some of the reasons justifying Microsoft's rationale to discontinue its Notification Services product line. One was that not many people used it. Blogs have listed a number of companies that have used it. The number may not be to the scale Microsoft would like ... one could look at Biztalk and suggest that Workflow Foundation represents Microsoft's belief that Biztalk too should be deprecated. Maybe so. But the strategy Microsoft is taking with workflow does not drop support for a core architectural capability. Why not keep Notification Services and give people time to learn how to architect in enterprise fashion with Microsoft infrastructure? Why not use it to seed an open source community? It probably costs you little ... and you have an open source community option that could get Microsoft further into an enterprise than it has previously been ... right into the middle ... leveraging Microsoft web service innovations in spades at substantially less cost than traditional EAI vendors, IBM, and other competitors could afford. People have to learn how to use Microsoft products in an enterprise context ... aside from specialized applications and OS vmware, what products have you put out that systematize infrastructure?
I've also heard that Microsoft is considering incorporation of Notification Services as part of Reporting Services. Please pardon me but that seems ack basswards ... events are not reports, but reports could be events if you view reports as correlations over critical business activities instead of some statically produced bit of information to be shoved off into someone's mailbox or file system or even web site. Reports are static. Events are part of a dynamic and learning enterprise platform. Isn't that what you're attempting to build infrastructure for? Isn't that exactly what Microsoft needs to secure its position at the back of an enterprise just as it has the front?
Please reconsider your position. And please contact me at tommy  at zipa dot deedoodah dot com to discuss. I'm as opinionated as everyone else, and I think you have a good product here that you're throwing away. If you don't want it, I will take it ...
    Sincerely,
    Tom Winans

  • LMS 3.2 - DFM Notification Services issue

My customer installed an LMS 3.2 on Windows 2008 Server with SP1.
Now the DFM Notification Services causing Problems.
We configured for a test the Event Set A and setup a Notification group with the following boxes ticked:
    Alert Severity
    Critical   Informational
    Alert Status
    Active
    Event Selection
    Event Set: A
    Event Severity
    Critical   Informational
    Event Status
    Active
And all Devices marked in the device selector.
At least the E-Mail configuration was set.
Now none of the Alerts or Events generate an automated e-mail, while the manual mailing from the AAD is working.

    Hi Joe,
    thanks for your fast reply.

    05/06/2010 10:46 AM 7,112  ProcessEPMDataManager.class
    The setup instruction from TAC:
    1- Stop the  daemon manager:
                 net stop crmdmgtd
    2- Go  to:
    $NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/triveni/WEB-INF/classes/com/cisco/nm/trx/nos/server
and backup  the original files (either copy them to another safe directory or rename them to  something like . Please don't retain the  original extension when renaming the files.
3- Make  sure that the patch files have the following MD5s:
    MD5  (ProcessEPMDataManager$EpmDataQueueItem$epmAlarmHistory.class) =  08851732b0b3aac5bb0636cc3e8e3c10

    MD5  (ProcessEPMDataManager$EpmDataQueueItem$epmEventProperties.class) =  af3b72952ec59d59e30b0309af80a9d2
    MD5  (ProcessEPMDataManager$EpmDataQueueItem.class) =  a70f49f8eab6bdea007b4ddd79e3809f
    MD5  (ProcessEPMDataManager.class) =  a6ec024955bb638d8fec47694816a82a3-
4- Replace  the originals in the above mentioned directory with these  versions.
    5 Start the  Daemon manager:
                 net start crmdmgtd
I followed these instructions and still facing the problem.
I also searched for the libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll, i found them, but in a path not included in the Windows PATH variable. Therefore these files should not influence LMS.
In the NOS Log i still see these messages:
    10-May-2010|15:01:10.027|ERROR|NOS|Process EPM Data Thread:Pooled  Thread:1|EpmDataQueueItem|processEPMData()|.|Caught Exception in  processEPMData():  java.util.NoSuchElementException

    10-May-2010|15:01:39.747|DEBUG|NOS|Thread-5|EPMPoller|pollEPM_Wash()|.|No  DB Exception in  polling
Since these Messages depends on EPM Data i had a look into the EPMServer.log and EPM.log
The EPMServer.log is shortened and showing all entries from the last dmgtd start. After the usual urn_not_found messages and the init of the Groups the following entry is generated:
    java.lang.NullPointerException
        at com.cisco.nm.trx.epm.providers.alarm.AlarmUpdateListener.processUpdatedAlarm(Unknown Source)
        at com.cisco.nm.trx.epm.providers.alarm.AlarmUpdateListener.run(Unknown Source)
        at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:595)
After that i changerd the logging of EPM to debug and attached the file as EPM_Debug.zip to this post.
Thanks a lot for your valuable support so far.
    Cheers Frank

  • Upcoming notification service, how to make use of if you are small company?

How does the upcoming notification service works? I would assume that apple does not host any code for you, but just an open service. In other words, you would need some sort of backend/server code and hosting for yourself. This is easy for companies like ebay or what not, but how bout small companies and individual developers?
Say I'm developing an app that uses an online service and I would like to provide updates and alerts depending on the state of that service. There's no place to place that checking code. It cant be on the phone, because it cant be in the background. And it wont be on apple's server that's for sure. So I have to find a scalable hosting solution basically?
    Insights?

Even if every iPhone user in the world bought a copy of your application you still wouldn't get the kind of traffic Google or Amazon sees. If your sales aren't enough to sustain the $50-$100/mo. a decent VPS account will run then scalability probably won't be that big of a problem for you. If they are, then this isn't really anything to complain about--every business has associated expenses, and in this case they'd likely be fully deductible.

  • Notification Service in a CLuster

I have to implement a kind of Notification Service in a WLS Cluster, which informs all registered
subscribers about changes of a Object (planned to be implemented as an EntityBean).
I am thinking of JMS. But how can I survive a crash?
              Has anyone any ideas ?
              Thanks

    JMS has persistent messaging.

  • Security Notification Service - Not working

    Hello
I really couldn't find the appropriate place to post, but I thought I'd try here
    On this site:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=szalert
You can supposedly sign up for the Security Notification Service.
I've signed up using at least 3 different email adresses but have never received anything!
Help! I need to know when adobe releases new product updates!

What version are you on, if you are not on 10.1.3.3 then you will need to apply some patches to get this working. I think there are 2, sorry don't have the off hand. If you do an advanced search on Metalink you should find them. I would recommend upgrading to 10.1.3.3 though.
what happend when you execute the command
    telnet dlsun4254.us.oracle.com 225
You should get a lank screen. If nt you haven't established a connection to the email server, either the port or the server is worng.
Are there any errors in the domain.log?
Are you getting any errors in the in the BPEL process itself.
    cheers
    James

  • The following Apple Push Notification Service certificate will expire June 10, 2014.

We have a BES10.1.2 server with a UDS server.  We have multiple iOS users that access work emails via Work Space/Work Connect.  I do not find anything in the licensing that indicates anything is due to expire, however, we are receiving emails that the Apple Push Notification Service certificate is due to expire tomorrow.  How do I determine if this is in fact the case?  How do I renew this certificate?

    Greetings Prem garigapati,
I understand you are receiving a message regarding an expiring certificate. Are you using a version of OS X Server on your computer? This article has additional information which may be helpful:
OS X Server: How to renew expired push certificates - Apple Support
If the certificate you use with the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) has expired, you can renew it using OS X Server.
Use these steps to renew any push notification certificates that have expired:
Open the OS X Server app.
Select your server in the Server app sidebar, then click Settings.
Click the Edit button next to the “Enable Apple push notifications” option.
Enter your organization's Apple ID in the sheet that appears, then click Renew to renew the expired certificate.
Deselect (uncheck) the “Enable Apple push notifications” option.
Select (check) the “Enable Apple push notifications” option.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Bobby_D

  • Notification Service OIM11g

    Hi
Has any one tried out sending notifications using notification service using OIM 11g?
When I am trying to send notification I am seeing exception like

when I submit a request as an administrator for others.
    and I am seeing
oracle.iam.notification.exception.NotificationManagementException: Authorization check failed for LOOKUP Operation for user jon.doe.
    at oracle.iam.notification.impl.NotificationServiceImpl.lookupTemplate(NotificationServiceImpl.java:256)
When I submit a request for self.
    Sample code:
    event = new NotificationEvent(eventId.toString(), userIds,
                                       null, "Request Creation",
"To be sent during a request creation",
                                  "NOTIFICATIONADMIN", values,*
                                       reqInfo.getCreationDate(), reqInfo.getEndDate());
    System.out.println("Notification event constructed successfully");
    NotificationTemplate templ = notifSer.lookupTemplate("Request Creation", Locale.ENGLISH);System.out.println("template found="+templ.getEventname());
    boolean notifyStatus = notifSer.notify(event);
    Regards
    user12841694

I found the problem and fixed it. For the benefit of others, here was the problem.
The CS workflow notification service had suddently stopped about two months back. We found the root cause as the email address not being stored in the workflow's DSPerson database table. The email id was properly populated in portal database.
On checking the User Profile Manager I found that the user's Email field was mapped to 'email' property instead of 'Email' property (yea, it is case-sensitive). Rectifying the mapping and running the hot sync (<PTWorkflow Install>\bin\hotsync.bat) migrated the email addresses to workflow database and notification emails started being sent out.
