Notification Switch off in Lumia 710

How do i switch off the notification which pops up on the top of the screen when a message is recieved .. ?? I use a Lumia 710.

Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
There is no setting to set your phone to switch on/off as per to a schedule. This is not possible with any application either, as they cannot access the core functions of the phone (such as power down etc.) by default.
So, I am afraid your only choice would be to put your phone on silent (press volume up and down and then tap the top right of the screen), check that there are no applications running (long press back button) and switch off Bluetooth, WiFi and location services to minimise the battery consumption. There are applications that will ease your access to these services, such as this.

Auto switch on/off on Lumia 710

Hi,
I would like to have an option that my Lumia 710 switches off automatically at 23:00 and switches on at 07:00, to save battery and avoid disturbance during the night if someone calls by mistake.
I don't see it available in Settings and haven't found any app which would do that.

Disabling auto switch off Internet Sharing Lumia 7...

Is there anyway to disable the auto switch off of the auto switch off feature of the Internet Sharing on the Lumia 710?
The reason I ask, is that I want to set this up as my main Internet connection at home using the Three UK One Plan Unlimited Data plan with the phone linked via Internet Shaing to a range extender which all my family can then connect to but the Internet Sharing keeps switching off after a few minutes of inactivity.
This is obviously really annoying as I then have to go upstairs and turn on Internet Sharing again.

There are two things you can try:
1) Keep the AC cable plugged in. It will not shut down WiFi when connected to AC, as the shutting down is a powermanagement feature as I understood.
2) Keep the screen on (unverified, just a thing you can try to keep the lock timeout to 'forever'. I believe this is related to the powermanagement as well.)

Lumia 710 Push notifications

Hii..
Could someone tell me how to disable / Enable push notification feature in LUMIA 710?
I have enabled it when setting up twitter app in phone and since then messages are pouring in day and night!! I like to stop it.
Also is push notifications messages chargeable by the telecom operator?
Any help on this subject will be highly appreciated

Push notifications use data, although it's a minute amount.
You should be able turn them off in an app through Settings..

How to switch off 'Cell Info' in Lumia 925

I recently bought Lumia 925. I am getting constsnt messages pertaining to 'Cell Info'. They keep on appearing once in every few seconds & pile up in a huge number. You can not make a call unless you acknowledge all of them, which takes huge time, alternatively I have to switch the phone off & on & make a call after re-boot!!
I was using Nokia E 63 earlier. It had a setting facility for 'Cell Info' on or off. I do not find any setting facility for 'Cell Info' in Lumia 925.
Please guide me how to set the Cell Info off, or I will have to discard this Lumia 925

a) I tried with SIM of other service provider : There were no troublesome flash messages. b) I contacted my service provider: Airtel: After trying for tremendous patience with support number 121, somehow I could convey the message about what was happening. My call was transferred to a senior person, who promised me that these 'Flash' messages would stop in half an hour. It did not happen. Once again through 121, once again the promises, nothing happens. I personally visited Airtel support centre. Again nothing happens. c) I tried my old E 63 & switched off Cell Info with the same SIM. I am not able to use Lumia 925 because of Flash messages accumulating every few seconds.
Conclusions: I have to change my service provider Or Phone Or Both. – Now I may go for the last option with frustrations.

Switching off notifications

Hey everyone,
Wondering if any of you can help clarify something for me.
I've switched off notifications through Notification Centre for all apps, but I've been told that this doesn't fully switch notifications off. Is that correct?
I assumed that when you switch them off through the phone's settings, they'd no longer push to your phone. Is that the case? Or do you also need to switch off notifications through the app itself? If so, what is the point of being able to move apps to 'Not in notification centre' in the settings?
I'm looking to save a little bit of data and imporve my battery life. Will moving apps to 'Not in notification centre' list assist with this? I understand notifications don't use much data, but they do use a little, and want to stop them doing so.

Nokia lumia 620 automatic switch off

My lumia is automatically switch off and then i have to open the battery than again place the battery then its only switch on

Take a look of the battery contacts insde the battery. Due to wrong inserting of the battery the + contact spring may bend (the to metalsprings are too apart from each other). Try to press them together (not to much) or replace your battery.
Do not insert your battery in an oblique angle. Locate you battery parrallel to the battery compartment while inserting it.

Lumia 1520 + here drive+ tooo hot - switch off

With the latest version of Here Drive, i can't use it as it get very hot around the camera, then, the phone switch off and the windows button pulse every 1 second... Once cooled down? The phone restart automatically
if i restart here drive, enter my destination and start the navigation, the phone switch off again about 1 to 2 min later and the same cycle happen again... Also, my battery drained very quickly (even if plug on the car charger via usb!)
it is quite annoying when the sat nav stop and you don't know where you are... Restarting while driving is quite dangerous as well...
if i don't use here drive, the phone behave as expected... I didn't had this issue with the previous version...
how can this be fixed... Otherwise here drive, an app which i love an make me choose Lumia, become useless...

Just guessing, but I would think, as I look at mine, that it might have to do with when the apps were added to the device. To be honest, identifying this as a bug might not be correct. Basically I agree with you. But í know from experience, that users responds where sensible by changing
cosmetic configuration.
We´re using prio 1 for incoming invoices which have cash discount relevance...The amount of documents is so high that the pop-up from express notification is an annoying damage for the receiving users. But the red highlighting is a good and fast way
to filter the relevant workitems in workplace...
I´will searching for an alternative way to highlight the workitems in workplace and deadlines are also an interesting way
that i´ll analyze.
Is there anybody else who can tell me how to highlight workitems in workplace without giving them the prio1 ?

Lumia 710 standby screen wont turn off

The standby screen of my nokia lumia 710 wont turn off. I powers off when i hit the standby button but when i recieve a new email/whatsapp the screen stays on for hours resulting in a battery life of max a half day. It started a week ago an I did a hard resut in order to solve the problem but it didn't help.
What can be a good solution?

    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, contact Apple.

Toast Notification - Nokia Lumia 710

Is there a way to disable / enable the toast notification of SMS on Nokia Lumia 710?

I work for a cellular provider. The SMS toast notification is a big deal customers. When my phone is locked and sitting on my desk or coffee table I want a notification of a text message to appear but not the message contents.

My fully Charged Lumia go switched off during final process of installation of Lumia Cyan Update, as probabily its battery goes off. Now when i connect it to a charger as phone restarts installation starts again, but after 20-30 min. battery screen starts showing, d 1 which shows when we connects a empty battery phone to a charger instead of installation one. and then after that nothing happening, i tried to charge my battery through desktop charger but after a defined completion % of installation process, phone phone again starts charging. what would i do?

Silent mode for lumia 710

Is there a silent mode in the lumia 710 that cuts out ALL sounds including gaming and all notifications.
I can see by the instruction manual where to change this, and it also says silent, but there is only ring and viabrate, or viabrate only. This does not turn off all sounds including gaming and notifications. I unticked all boxes under sounds, however I still get live update sounds. There should be a silent mode but I cannot see it.
Has anyone else found where this is.

When you switch silent mode on, all ringtones and alert tones are muted. Use this when you are, for example, at the cinema or in a meeting.
Press a volume key to see the volume status bar, then select ring . Silent mode is switched on. If you have set your phone to vibrate, vibrate mode is switched on instead of silent mode.
Set your phone to vibrate
Select > and ringtones+sounds, and switch Vibrate to On .

Lumia 710 signal and Internet sharing problem

I've been using Lumia 710 since 3 months. Even though the initial experience was good now I'm facing a serious signal problem with the phone. We recently moved to a high-rise building where the signal is weak inside the rooms. If the phone looses the signal it doesn't pick-up the signal even though network is available. This is causing a serious a trouble to me as I don't receive or make calls during the period. I either need to switch-off and switch-on again or I need to turn-on and turn-off flight mode for the phone to pick up the signal. Sometime even though the signal shows 3/4 bars I won't be able to make/receive the calls.
I'm also facing a issue with Internet sharing option. Even though devices are able to connect they are not able to use the internet/data from phone. I was using the same SIM with other phone of different make and it was working pretty fine. I rely a lot on internet sharing option and now I can't even swap my SIM with old phone as Lumia uses micro SIM.
Please let me know the solutions to both these issues.

That is not normal though. Bring your phone to your local Nokia Care Center and let them have a look at it.
Internet Sharing on Edge/G is not working very well, try and find a 3G connection (which is fast enough) and you will get a better experience.
