Notification sync

I have had my notifications sync between my iPhone and iPad for a while now, but the notifications do not sync on my MBP. Notifications I am referring to would be Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.  I'm running OSX Mavericks on the MBP and iOS 8.1.3 on the iPhone and iPad. Am I missing out on this benefit by not updating to Yosemite?  I feel comfortable using Mavericks but still have a lot to learn about OSX.

Greetings lkpolovchik,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want notifications for your internet accounts such as Facebook or Twitter to appear in OS X as well as on your iOS devices.
You can set this up on your Mac by adding those accounts to System Preferences > Internet Accounts.
See these links for the detailed steps and more help with OS X Notification Center:

All the best,

  • Notifications sync not working

One of the listed features of iOS 7 is "notification sync" which states that removing a notification off one device removes it from all.  I can't get this working,  any notification I clear on my iPad doesn't clear off my iPhone or vice-versa.  Only apps that already did this in iOS 6, like the Gmail app do this.
Has anyone gotten notifications sync working?

So far I've seen it working on the Mail and Messages apps only. The notifications only clear and sync when the new items are read within the apps (you can't just clear the notification from notification centre and have it sync).
Still unsure if other apps are meant to be working, if developers need to code in support for his, and if notifications are meant to sync when cleared from the notification centre as opposed to having to open each app first.
A bit of a mess currently.

  • IOS 7 Notification Sync

Is this a feature that needs to be turned on? If so, can anyone help?
One of the most annoying features of iOS is having to get rid of notifications on iPad and iPhone seperately, so I was looking forward to this.
Still in iOS7, if I get an email and read it on my iPad it still shows as unread on my iPhone until I go into the Mail app and it syncs up. I thought there was background syncing etc. in iOS 7??
It isn't just email, things like Facebook etc. also behave the same way.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I am having same problem tyring to sync my phone with iTunes. It was ok until I downloaded IOS7 and then the problem came. It just wouldn't sync and the message "could not be synced because sync session fail to start" kept showing up. Anyone can help?

  • Mail notifications sync

    Hello,
I have a problem : my Mail notification don't sync between iOS 7.1 and Mavericks. Or not entirely. I receive the notification on both but they disappear from both only when I delete the notification from iOS. If I delete it from Mavericks, the notifications is still there on the iPhone's lock screen.
Any idea how to solve this ?

        Hello Dav720,
Receiving emails is extremely important. Have you tried removing the email and resetting the email? Click here for the process of removing the email: http://bit.ly/U8fYIi.
If that doesn't work, you will want to ensure that notification settings are turn on. You are able to do this by going into your email inbox. Select the option button (looks like 3 horizontal lines), select settings, and select your email name. Once in the email name, scroll down to notification settings and verify that the notification box is checkmarked.
Please let us know if you are having any further issues.

  • Push notifications/Sync not working after NK1

After the NK1 update my battery life has improved slightly, but I am no longer getting Push notifications from any google services.
In order to get messages or emails I need to manually go into the Hangouts or Gmail apps and refresh them. Sync is turn on for Google, and both apps have notifications turned on. I have already cleared the data from the apps and restarted the phone multiple times.
Any suggestions? Anybody else with the same problem? Thanks in advance

There are hundreds or people wih this exact same problem and apple has no interest in fixing it or publicly giving and answer to the issues.
They Botched this release big time.  I look forward to having tp wipe my 64gb iPad and start from scratch.  Oh boy do I!!

  • Syncing Mail Notifications Between Mac and iPhone

    Hi
I been having this problem with the mail notifications not syncing between the Mail.app on my MacBook Pro and iPhone. Let me explain:
When I get a new email, I hear the sound and see the red notification icon appear on both the MacBook and the iphone. When it comes to checking the new email, here are the two possible scenarios:
    a) If I check the new email on my phone, the red notification icon disappears from BOTH the iphone and the MacBook.
    b) If I check the new email on my MacBook, the red notification disappears from the MacBook but DOESN'T disappears from the iPhone (that is until I open the app). This happens with both cases, when the app is "running" in the background or when it is complety closed.
I don't know if I am crazy but I am pretty sure that both of the notifications used to disappear before, no matter where I checked the mail.
I tried deleting and creating the email again on my phone, and it didn't work.
Here some info that could help find a solution:
    - I'm using icloud email (@me.com)
    MacBook
    -Mountain Lion
    iPhone:
    - iOS 6 (this problem started before the upgrade)
    - Push is on.
    - Fetch (that suppodselly would be used only if push is off) is set to Manually.
    - On the "Advanced" sub-menu inside the Mail settings, Push is also selected.
Hopefully this can actually be fix and I can prove myself that I was not crazy!!
Thanks in advance for the help!!

Anyone find a fix for this problem? I've been waiting for this since notification syncing was announced a couple years ago with iOS 6. I use iCloud for my email and find it very frustrating that when I read an email on my Mac or on iCoud.com that it doesn't automatically dismiss the notifications for those emails on my iOS devices until I open the mail app on each iOS device. Notification syncing works great with other apps. With iMessages, for example, when I read a message on my Mac running Yosemite, the notifications disappear on my iOS devices without opening the messages app (badge app icon, home screen notifications and notification center). Why can't they figure this out with email? I remember at my old job, I had an exchange account that properly synced mail notifications between devices, but it has never worked with my iCloud email. I wonder if I am just missing a particular setting or if Apple just blew it here. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  • How do I make the new voicemail notification (red dot) go away on iPhone 4?

I got a voicemail and listened to it and deleted it. now the little red dot over the phone icon is still on and won't go away. I have iPhone 4 and just updated to 4.3.5. I'm with TELUS in Canada. Any help would be apreciated.

why did you revive a thread that had been dead for two years? next time, make sure you're posting on an active thread.
    fractalspace wrote:
I had the exact same problem. Iphone 5s on SpeakOut711/Rogers, Canada. There was no voicemail message, and yet the voicemail icon one the phone (dual spools thingy) stays on, regarless of how many times I check my voicemail.
I got it to 'reset' like this:
    - Call your own cell phone and leave yourself a voice message.
    - Wait for a few minutes.
    - Check your voicemail from your cell phone by pressing (touching?) the voicemail icon which has the red dot (although it may also work if you checked via land line, but not sure).
    - Delete your message.
You will notice that the icon disappears as soon as you hangup your call. It looks like some voicermail notification sync error between phone and the service provider.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Sync not working between Window laptop with FF32 and android tablet with FF 32

    Computer is Windows 7
    Labtop is android
    Both devices have FF 32
As far as I know, sync has been set up correctly on both devices. But they still aren't syncing. It looks as though I've missed a setting somewhere. I tried to follow instructions from an earlier version, but the menu was different and I couldn't find the counterparts for this version. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Jane

    Hi gohim2j,
Thank you for your question, I understand that there are two devices attached to your sync account that do not appear as they are syncing. Please try the following steps to kick start the sync:
    # Make a copy of the profile folder for a back up of the current data.
    # Remove the account from each of the devices, (on the desktop from the "3 bar" menu select "Options" and click on sync. Next to the email, remove account. On the mobile device, go to accounts and select Firefox, tap on the account name and select "Remove account")
    # On the desktop, go to accounts.firefox.com and sign into the account. When you reach the notification "Sync will begin momentarily" close Firefox. Open Firefox and select the Tools menu and click "Sync Now"
    # On the mobile device, re-add the account. Go to the same url accounts.firefox.com and sign into your sync account. Once it has been added, go to the sync menu with the list of check boxes are to select what to sync. Are there any notifications there? Sometimes there will be a warning asking to toggle Auto-sync. Once this is done from the Data menu of the Android device, the sync process will begin.
    # Wait for a bit, then go to the Desktop to check for the "Mobile Bookmarks" folder in the Bookmark's manager.
Did it start to sync? If not it is possible to investigate any error in the sync logs. I can provide instructions on how to do this with your response.

  • Touchpad Sync Flawed on so many levels...

I have talked to support about most of these issues and they are confirmed, reproducable bugs.
    1.  Google Calendar events added to touchpad device do not get sync'd to Google calendar.  I spent 1 hour adding 50 events for my coming year to my touchpad, and none of it can be synced to other devices becase even though I get a notification, Sync completed, no sync occurrs.
    2.  I lost everything from a meeting with people arriving from three continents.  I opened a document on Google Documents, then saved it locally on my touchpad.  I made countless notes and annotations.  Saved the document again, and I got a confirmation, "Document Saved" in the notification bar.  I closed the document and went to find the document.  No document is on the touchpad anywhere, and no changes were saved to Google docs.  This problem was duplicated with a support specialist.
    3. I lost 4 hours worth of work on a plane from the US to Asia.   I wrote an email and saved it as a draft on my google email account.  Obviously, I did not have any Internet connection.  I selected "save draft" twice and the notification said "draft saved."  Turns out the problem occurs because "Drafts was disabled by an administrator on the google account --- over 1 year ago.  The Touchpad had just been set up.  Turns out that the entry for the "Drafts" folder in the accounts setting on the touchpad was "blank" because of the google account.  Instead of placing the draft email in the inbox or elsewhere, the touchpad deleted the draft.  Yes this is a bizarre problem, and not likely to happen to others, but still, the touchpad said "saved draft" and no error occurred...
Seems to me that there are
    1. Multiple sync problems with the touch pad.
    2. Serious error reporting "errors" with the way that WebOS is written.
At this point I NEVER trust any information that is typed into my touchpad.  Seems like I am running into a new error every other week that I use it...  This device is UNTRUSTWORTHY as a BUSINESS tablet.  It has already embarrassed me several times.  Especially in the meeting where people came from three continents and we lost all the meeting notes.

  • HT4623 Issue with anniversaries entry in notification drop down bar and calender app

    Hi guys,
There is issue with notication dropdown and calender app in ios 7 which was not present in ios 6. The notification sync birthdays from contacts but only birthdays and not anniversaries.
same is with the calender app
what is the solution for this?

The problem is not with the phone per se.  The problem is with Android 4.0 and your TB does not have 4.0.  Because this phone is the "gold standard" of development for Android 4.0 it makes sense to report the problem here.  If Verizon takes notice they will push the bug report up the food chain until some developer at Google or Samsung decides to fix it.

  • Why don't Notifications stay up to date?

I'm not entirely sure I understand how Notification Centre on Mountain Lion is meant to work. I currently see notifications for lots of apps - Sparrow (new emails), Twitter (new tweets) etc. However, almost all of the items listed are out of date. I have already read them either elsewhere on my iOS devices, or directly within the given apps on my Mac.
It seems the only way to automatically dismiss these notifications (i.e. instead of manually) is to click on them within Notification Centre. E.g. if I click Sparrow and read a new email, it will not remove the notification from Notification Centre. Nor will it do so if I read an unread Twitter message within the Twitter app - I have to click on it from within Notification Centre.
I don't understand why I should have to always click the notifications as the only method of accessing unread content in my apps. Surely Notification Centre should be syncing status updates with all these apps and keep an eye on how many unread alerts each app has and whether an alert shown in Notification Centre has already been read via other means, and if so remove it.
I think iOS 6 is going to address some of these issues with notification syncing between iOS devices, but what about notifications read directly within apps on my Mac?
I'd like to see how much workflow adoption Notification Centre has, as I'm seriously considering disabling it as it is just full of redundant notifications and doesn't seem to serve a purpose.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you haven't done so already you need to migrate your mail account to iCloud first and do so IMMEDIATELY at the website Move
    Then
Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

  • Email Problem, Need Help

Hoping someone can help. Have a HTC Droid DNA for a couple months and love it. No problems. About a week ago I took two pictures and was forwarding them to my gmail account([email protected] I accidentally sent them to [email protected] which is an account that does not exist. I received a notice "could not deliver mail" and two consecutive "droid" sound notifications. No problem I thought, just go into sent mail and delete but they are not there. I guess because they were not actually sent. Now for the past week, EVERY HOUR (that is the time I set for notifications-syncing) i get two consecutive droid sound notices. Extremely annoying.
All mail functions for my gmail and aol accounts work fine before this happened and other than the annoying droid reminder every hour work fine after.
I was hoping someone could help me solve this in some way. I am not very phone, tech literate so please explain any possible fix carefully.
It was suggested that I clear the cache, that might fix the problem. I did that but unfortunately the problem remains. I would have thought this would (could) be a common problem (accidentally sending an email and attachment to a wrong non existent address).
Many thanks in advance for any help.

When the domains mail exchanger has a delivery problem it normally send that message to the sender alerting you to the problem.
In the body of the message will be something like [email protected] could not be delivered, normally it will say the email address does not exist or will give a message of "we will attempt to deliver this message for 5,7, or 10 days"
The domain if after these attempts will send you a final message of "Delivery to [email protected] has fail, we are sorry but we have gave up"  that will be the last message you should receive.
I would send an email to [email protected] tell them to please stop the mx from sending you repeated bounce messages.
takes them secounds to comply once they see your message.
Of course that was in the old days, hopefully it has not changed.
    Good Luck

  • Alas the poor E7-00 I knew it for a short time

Sadly I've just sent back my Nokia E7 to the shop within 24 hours of getting it, so back to the N900 ....
The phone showed so much promise, however screen too cluttered, why have time and date on the main screen and not at the top of the screen.
Exchange client not working properly, notifications, sync options weren't working , folder list as a submenu option, unlike the N900.
No support for Nokia messaging, so have to setup lots of email accounts.
Awkward setting up for multiple network connections.
Great keybaord, nice looking, however a scribe and a smaller font would make better use of the screen. Great idea of using standard memory sticks, good connectivity to the PC.
Shame the developers weren't more creative and looked what other phone do now .... I would say that my old E90 is a better phone using the symbian OS.

I also absolutely love the E7 and have had zero problems with it, so maybe i've been lucky, but as you are enjoying the N8, which is virtually identical, it seems strange thet you were so displeased /unlucky(twice) with the E7. Unless you do mainly macro photography or want to carry 48Gig of data on your phone, I can't fault the E7.
Still it wouldn't do for everyone to want the same thing , and I hope you continue to enjoy your current phones and whatever you replace them with I a=can only go by my personal expeience, as can you, my expeience with the E7 is opposite to yours, and I have a friend on his 3rd replacement N8 !! So it just goes to show all phones can have problems and thet one handset won't suit every user.
    Good Luck

  • Email syncing/new notifications

I added my hotmail account to my "email" app and have it set to sync every 15 mins but when I get a new email, I do not get a notificication in my notification bar, even though I DO have that option set in my settings.  I often have to manually refresh.
Anyone else having this problem.  Can this be fixed with the new 2.2 update?

Hello! This is Noah with Verizon Wireless, I hope you are having a great day. I would be happy to address your post today.
First lets make sure the phone is updated.
From the main screen, touch menu tab
    Touch Settings
    Touch About Phone
    Touch System Updates
Once you verify that the phone is updated, then could I get you to do a soft reset on the device, by powering the phone off and removing and replacing the battery, then powering that phone on. Then dialing *228 send and option 2 on that phone to update the PRL.
Check the email settings and make sure notifications are enabled.
From a home screen, select Applications.
    Select Email.
From the Email account screen, select and hold the email account.
To return to the Email account screen select Menu > Accounts.
    Select Email notifications to enable.
Enabled when a green check mark is present.
    Select Select ringtone.
    Email notifications must be enabled.
Select a ringtone then select OK.
Select Vibrate to enable / disable.
    Email notifications must be enabled.
Enabled when a green check mark is present.
Then make sure that you are logged in to the account from the phone.
