  • Notifications volume very low

I just updated my Q10 to OS 10.3.1.1581 and now when i get notifications the sound is very low even with the volume setting at its highest level.  My wife updated hers at the same time and she has the same problem.  Is anyone else having this problem?

Blackberry won't even tell us that they are aware of this.. This is unacceptable! I read that there were 6 months of beta testing and notification volume was a known reported issue.. How can they not bother to fix such a MAJOR issue and release such a deal breaking OS update? Please update us on the issue blackberry!

  • Default notification volume now 1/2 since upgrade

Before the upgrade my "default notification" was maxed out in volume and very very loud on all my sounds.
Since the upgrade the MAX volume level now 1/2 even though the slider is maxed out.
I have all the volume levels maxed out.
My ringtones volume appears to be unaffected.
What am I missing. Is there some new setting with this upgrade I am missing?
Nothing has changed on my side.
    Thanks

Let's get your volume back to normal bucknastytoo! A factory reset isn't a popular troubleshooting step however, it is very effective. Please backup your device and complete a reset by following the visuals here http://vz.to/16GW51c Please keep me posted on your success. Thank you.

  • Notification volume louder than ringer setting

    iPhone 5 with latest iOS.
Let's say I have my ringer set to 5/10 (in terms of loudness) and I recently watched a video at 9/10 loudness.
It seems that no matter what I set my ringer to with the volume buttons, the notifications are using that 9/10 volume level instead of the ringer volume level.
I've turned the phone off and back on but that doesn't fix the problem. Not sure how to replicate this problem, as not always does it present itself.
Anyone experience similar symptoms and come up with a way to fix it? One obvious workaround would be to watch a video (or perhaps play music) and lower that volume level, but that's just ghetto for such an expensive device that's supposed to just work.

Turning the phone completely off and then back on seemed to fix the problem this time.

  • Headset SBH52 Notification Volume Problem

    Hello.
I can not hear the notifications or hear the spoken message when I receive.
By the time I get the alert facebook for example, the volume is down automatically to almost 0, and when the message finished talking the volume returns to normal.
I'm not listening to music or using applications ringing sound when the warning comes.
I searched settings but found nothing.
It happens to all notifications, all that is notified when the volume drops to the minimum.
Tested in two mobile Sony Xperia ZQ (Brazil) and Xperia Z1.
    Anyone know why this?

    Hi RetiringSoon, (I'm jealous!)
The troubleshooting steps in this article may help you with this:
iPhone: Can't hear through the receiver or speakers
    Resolution
Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (chooseSettings > General > Bluetooth).
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.
    Hope this helps!
    Judy

  • Ringer/Notification volume differences

I've searched here, but haven't been able to find if there is a solution to the difference in ringer and notification sounds.
    I have iPhone 4S running OS 7.0.4
My complaint is the lowest volume setting for notifications (since OS7 update) is too loud for night time when I have the phone on the nightstand next to the bed.
The ringer is just right at that setting. Just loud enough for me to hear and not startle me, but not so loud as to wake my wife. But if an email or text comes in, yikes!
If I turn the ringer up so I can hear it at work, the notifications are too loud!
I have Sound Check turned off, and "Change with Buttons" turned on.
As a test, if I make both the ringtone, and new email alert the same (Aurora in this case) and have the ringer at the lowest setting, the ringtone is barely audible, and the notification is loud enough to be heard by my coworker in the next cubicle.

Just wanted to bump this topic.
Because of the massive feedback about ringer volume being too low and wanting it higher, I have found it nearly impossible to find a forum post with a final solution/answer to this.
I'm not sure if the update put out to fix the too-quiet complaint issue just shifted the entire volume spectrum up higher or something, but I agree with mtpiper that even at the absolute lowest volume setting, I find the ringer too loud for a lot of settings. I'm going to attempt to just make a custom ringtone in iTunes and see if base-volume levels are adjustable through that route, however I really think there needs to be a click on/off setting to be able to 'soften ringer volume' or something of that nature.
I could have sworn there was at one point, but I've digged and found nothing in settings.

  • Whatsapp notification volume

Can't seem to turn it up, SMS volume fine
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi wpdensley,
Unfortunately, you cannot change the volume of the whatsapp notification. Since you already turned up the volume of your device and SMS, that will ultimately be at the optimal level that you can have it.
    Hope this clears things up.

  • Notifications/volume much quieter since 10.3 update on Q10

I just was pushed an update to 10.3.2.440 and ever since the volume of my notifications is so faint I can barely hear it.  Is anyone else having this issue?  Any suggestions? Thank you

Has there been any resolution to the issue of the notifications being significantly shortened in length?  I really can't believe it if they haven't fixed this yet. Never mind.  I just did a search and this issue has been discussed in virtually hundreds of threads.  It appears to be an issue based on your carrier. I'm pretty surprised Rogers hasn't done anything to rectify this.  The most basic feature of a smart phone is letting you know something has happened, like getting a text/email, etc. and they blew it up and don't fix it?

  • IPhone notification volume will not change

Every iPhone I have on iOS 7.1.1 has this same problem. I change the ringer volumes to the second to lowest, and the notifications and keyboard clicks still sound Luke they're on full volume. One of them has a broken vibrate motor so I can't just leave it on silent like I can with the others. What is the problem? It's extremely frustrating to have to miss notifications due to the permanent silence.

Try to set the tone at Messaging > Menu button > Settings > Notification tone.

  • Update affected notification volume

Since the recent update, it seems as though my ringtones and notifications are no longer controlled by the volume switch on the side of the phone.  Even when I have it set just one notch above vibrate-only, these sounds still come in at full volume.  Extrememly annooying and disruptive.  Is anyone else having this issue?

Since posting my original question, I continued to poke around on the phone and found the "Volumes" settings under "Sound".  There I was able to adjust the Notifications and other volumes individually. I'm guessing that the update reset all the volume settings to the maximum, and I have now been able to successfully adjust the volumes to my preferences. But I'm still not clear on how sounds other than the ringer are controlled by the volume up/down switch on the side of the phone.

  • IPad notification volume controls

I got an iPad notification that was too loud (my volume was up higher than normal due to a YouTube video that was too quiet) so when the screen came on I tried to turn it down to the normal volume but there was no volume indicator on the screen so I could not tell which level it was at; I had to swipe to unlock then hit the volume button to see the indicator (usually I keep it at 3).
Is there some way to fix this or notify Apple of the issue to get this improved? I'm impressed with many things on the iPad but I'm not sure why I can't see the volume indicator on the notification screen.

There is not a seperate volume control for notifications.
    Give your feeddback to Apple.

Every time I try to change the Alert volume on my iPad, it automatically reverts back to something very low. How do I turn it up?

    @Johan79 ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forum.  One thing you may have to do here is go and make sure you download all your drivers again.
Once you have your drivers downloaded and saved to a USB stick or burned to CD or DVD.  Boot your system into safe mode.
Tap the F8 button on startup.
Once in Safe Mode go and uninstall all the drivers for your system.
    HP Pavilion 17-f059nb Drivers
After you have removed all drivers while in safe mode you will want to boot into normal Windows mode.
Now you will want to install the drivers but you have to start with the Chipset Driver first.
The reason for this is the Chipset Driver acts like an air traffic controller for all the other drivers.
Try this and let me know how things go.
Thank you again for posting and have a great day.
