Notifications app introduced in Asha 311?

After updating Asha 311 to firmware v.5.92, i found a new notifications app present in the menu which claims to show up recent notifications.
Sounds exciting. But, after using the phone for 5-6 days, I found that it doesn't do anything. It never gathers any notification and stays empty forever.
So what's the purpose of introducing this? Sounds something still under development and added by mistake. Will be happy if someone with little insight can clarify.

At present, the twitter for nokia app 1.2 supports push notifications.. check the settings in push notification app...

hi there
i bought my new asha 311 but whenever i try to open any defualt app by nokia like facebook nokia chat or defualt browser it sitck on update and didnt update anything
and show up some Network error..
i m using internet through wifi
any solution ??

First the wifi signal strength and connectivity status,and
Is your phone's software version 5.92(check it by dialing *#0000#)
If so,then before using wifi make a manual accesspoint setting.So that you can use wifi
(you can do this by (settings>configuration>personal config.>add.))
It should work now.If not visit nearest NOKIA CARE CENTRE.

best to check with Viber (publisher of the application) as they determine which phone model their app will be compatible with and where will it be available for download. For Nokia phones, applications are made available through Nokia Store. You may contact them here: http://helpme.viber.com/

Internet speed test app for Asha 311

Is there any internet speed test app for Asha 311? I tried the speed test from http://bsnlspeedtest.in but the result was very high. I have Airtel 3G and it always shows 3.5G.

If you want to check the max speed of your phone internet there are two methods.
1.
Check the speed in kbps while downloading any file using UC browser. Get UC browser from Nokia store or via www.ucweb.com
2.
Connect your phone as a modem to your pc and use any pc web browser and check the speed at http://speedtest.net or any other sites.

Hello Guys, i am using Nokia Asha 305 cell phone and accidentally NOTIFICATION APP has deleted from my phone. Anyone pls help me how can i get this app back? My Cell's Latest software is 7.42!!

Nokia's facebook app does not work in nokia asha 311?i changed and installed new versions three times.but no change.

In the top menu of your Nokia 311, do you still see the app ‘Social’?
Then, you do not have the latest updates of all apps on board. In the Nokia Suite » Software updates » did you use the reinstall option? If you still have ‘Social’, please, go for the Nokia Software Recovery Tool. After that, you have the dedicated Facebook app. Does that app give the same error message?

Quality apps for asha 311

we as users of the asha 311 are very disappointed in this device given its capability of being able to accommodate very powerful quality apps like skype shazam amongst others. the nokia engineers should be able to fix such additions.....and also features such as video call..copy paste options..screen lock pattern instead of the common number keyguard lock...this phone can be the dopest of all if such additions are considered

Btw. regarding VoIP calls - it's seems that Asha 311 should support Nokia VoIP natively (http://www.nokia.com/global/products/phone/asha311/specifications -> VoIP calling mentioned), so there would not be necessarily a need to install additional app (like Skype).
but I can try check/verify how that works in practice.

What is the new features of asha 311 version 7.36

Can anybody tell me what is the new features in new software version 7.36 of asha 311 ????..........

^ I've only noticed updated apps. You get new mail, new chat, twitter with push notifications, updated notifications app, added some pre-installed games from gameloft and EA. That's it. UI or menu saw no changes. One change is the volume too loud note when earphones are plugged in.
Sad thing is that the chipset won't allow you to downgrade. So update only if you're ready to get those updated apps

Successor of the Nokia Asha 311

I have an Asha 311 and though it's a nice phone (besides the problems like missing mutlitasking, copy/paste etc) I think the biggest problem is the tiny screen. Even for a feature phone, a Fulltouch-phone should have a display, which is at least 3.5 inches. Everything else is unusable and maybe for a 8 years old good. Preinstalled apps are possible to rotate, but most Third-party-apps miss this feature.
Are there already any plans for the successor of the Asha 311 with a bigger screen (and of course other improvements)?

Nokia has now announced the Asha 310, almost a clone of the cheaper S40-Fulltouch-phones Yes, the Asha Phones are hot sellers, but I really don't think that's good for Nokias image to release so many similar phones, just with differences in WLAN, Dual-SIM, or 3G. I really hope they'll skip the Asha 304, and finally release the Asha 312.
