Notifications in Release 2

All,
Anyone find a way to get the notifications working in Release 2 of OCS?
Rumor was they were going to tie it into the smtp servers on OCS but they are not working.
Everything else seems to work fine in the new release.

Like I said before, notifications need sendmail to be configured. If you are using outlook connector your users will recieve meeting acceptance alerts and reminders. However this is different from the actual email notification sent from calendar.
When a meeting (not the only event) is created in calendar an email notification is sent to the various attendees. In order for this email notification to be sent you need to configure sendmail. There is an issue I have come accross in release 2 (which wasn't there in release 1), when the email notification is sent from calendar it takes 6 minutes to be sent to the attendes. This can be verified by creating a meeting. and running unireqdump. You will find that for some reason the email notification has been queued and will be sent after 6 minutes. Apparently a later release will address this issue. Bottom line, if you're talking about email notifications from calendar you need to configure sendmail.

could you please tell me which screens are assigned to the notification.
Tasks can be assigned to the notification header and to notification items, accordingly these are displayed on different screens (Tabstrips) in the notification transaction.

Select the notification type
goto Extended View: Tabstrips and Screen Areas

Notification after releasing of PR

Please guide me
When the PR released (after final approval), the person who should create PO should receive notification to start with PO creation process, currently PO creator doesn't receive any notification. Please let me know how we could configure this in the system?

Visual Studio Online / Release Management Email Notifications

We use Visual Studio Online and not a local TFS instance. Additionally we want to / ARE using the Release Management service. But, we are having difficulties configuring the Email notifications within Release Management. We have steps
configured for email notification on step approval. BUT we are not getting any of these notifications and the Releases get stuck waiting during these steps. And only if by sheer dumb luck the user logs into his/her Release Management window
do they see that they have pending approvals...
What do we need to do in order to get these approvals flowing?

Allow modifications over "Long Text" in notifications until it's released

Hi friends!!!
It is possible to allow modifications over field LONG TEXT until the notification is released??, I know you can disable a field in customizing but I don't know how to restrict the action just until the notification is released,

          I saw the interesting Post in d morning itself(Indian STd time). This post is what i m looking for , But all these things I wanna do for Notification , The first 2 steps i hv already done, but for updating the Structure RIHQMEL_LIST I dont know how 2 do this because there is no standard include where I can insert the User fields I hv used in Screen Exit.
         Also Where I am implementing consist of 6-7 companies with 15 Plants.
         Can u tell me any complications or apprehensions in appending the structure. Can it affect working of other Plants and in what way.
          Please advice.

Email notifications and the notifications to the application

Hi,
How to stop email notification so that when the notifications are released, the users doesn't get emails but they should be able to see when they log into the application.
The reason being to restrict the email notifications in the development instance.

There are several ways I can think of doing this -
1. Change the global email setting (for all users) to NOMAIL
Use Workflow Administrator Web Applications responsibility, navigate to Notifications, then click Administration tab, set Notification Style (in Global Preferences) to "Disabled" or "Do not send me mail"
2. Set a test email address so that all notifications are sent to this test address.
Use System Administration responsibility, navigate to Workflow, Service Components, click on Workflow Notification Mailer, "Set Override Address" button and follow the wizard instructions.
3. Turn off (disable) running of Notification Mailer.
Use System Administration responsibility, navigate to Workflow, Service Components, Workflow Notification Mailer radio button, select "suspend" on right, click Go
Option #2 is recommended

Creating notification (Its urgent Plz help)

I am asked to do a development for create notification such that if a person enter the measuring point greater than a specified limit say 60 which according to them is a dangerous point then a notification should be created and it should be triggered to the concerned person that the measuring point is at danger level. How could i achieve this functionality, how should i proceed, the transaction in which they needed this functionality is IK11.

Material movement through notification

Dear QM Experts,
I am trying to create Q2 notification through QM01 transaction. As all of you by means of action box one can transfer the stock to block through 344 movement.
We came across for the requirement that 311 movement should happen for defective qty internal and external through Q2 notification type. For this we developed new Z function module and assigned this FM in action box through SPRO. Then followed the sequence as below
1.     QM01 and selection of Q2 notification type
2.     Enter material, vendor, plant, complaint qty, ext and int qty, then defect recording
3.     Click on customized action box option after which new Z screen gets called capturing defective qty int and ext with storage location from and to fields.
4.     Entering of storage locations manually
5.     Enter
6.     Then two material movements happen (one for int qty and other for ext qty)
7.     Material documents also gets generated.
8.     But then error comes as

Message no. IM258
Diagnosis
This refers to an error in central status management.
Task status
The central status management connection at task level will only be supported from Release 3.0.
For this reason, no task status is available for statuses created before changing to Release 3.0, and status change is therefore also not possible.
Procedure
In the case of task statuses of notifications in releases prior to 3.0:
When you save a notification you can create a status for the tasks.
In the case of notification or task statuses for notifications from Release 3.0:

Instead of going fo new invemtory cube with the help of standard 0IC_C03 you can achive it.
Create ODS or DSO with all the fields of 2LIS_03_BF and build multiprovider on ODS and standard inventory.
the key field syou can use are material doc number and MJAHR,document line item number.
build query on Multi provider and restrict movement types as you desire.
This will help you as well as you will have inventory staging data which can be further used .
load 2lis_03_bf directly to ODS as well as 0ic_co3.

Changing status of Task created by system in Notification.

I am facing a problem while changing status of "Task" in Notification to "Complete". Actually I want that if system is cretating a Task automatically in Notification, this Task should have status "Complete" instead of release.
For this to happen I did some settings but after that system is giving me arror as shown in below.
If any body has faced simmilar situation, pl. give some clue.

Notification creation using imrc0001 exit(ik11) but unble to get the status

i had used the exit IMRC0001 for the creation of notification if reading exceeds the upper range using fm

It is updated in table VIQMEL
but when i open tcode iw22 is giving me a error message

i had applied the OSS NOTE 437878
then also iam unale to update the staus directly
when iam running the note program ZPMNOT_STATUS01 separetly with the created notification it is upadting the status.

Hi ALL,
I am creating notification >>> Created repair order from action box.
System says, Repair order will be created after saving,
When I try to save notificaton system give error as

PM notification Workflow

Dear i want to implement the PM notification Workflow means if a user creates notification and release and save immediately one email should trrigered and will come to outlook is there any customizing setting required for this event or only through ABAP that can be possible if customizing required through which options i can do this settings

The business object Maintenance notification is a means by which internal company notifications are entered and managed in Plant Maintenance.
Structure
The following types of maintenance notification exist:
o malfunction report (notification of a malfunction or problem)
o maintenance request (request for tasks to be carried out)
o activity report (documentation of actions that were carried out)
A maintenance notification contains one or more items. An item describes the symptoms that have arisen, the cause of the problem, the part of the object affected, as well as the tasks and actions that were performed.
If this doesnt solve your requirement.you can enhance this BO & delegate to a zbo.

Mail notification from SAP to Outlook

I have developed a program in SE38 to send a mail notification to outlook mail from SAP.Can I use this program in standard Tcode IW21to generate a mail notification at the time of saving data?In IW21 only notification is sent to SAP inbox.
Can anyone provide me the steps to insert this code in IW21 Tcode?
