Notifications not showing.

Hello all!
I'm struggling with something on my computer that's slightly annoying. Basically, I'm not being notified by skype. I use windows 8.1 skype app. If I'm on my computer and someone sends me a message or calls me, a box will pop up at the side as it should. But if I leave my computer to use the toilet or something if someone messages me when I'm away from the computer it doesn't give me any notifications. So I could miss important calls or messages while away. Is there any way I can sort this? In windows 7 if I missed something it left a little (1) next to the icon. Thanks

Well for starters, Apps(with the exception of stocks and weather) won't show up in Notification Center until you actually have a notification for that App.
As for Twitter, I don't think it gives you a notification every time someone tweets. I think you only get notifications when someone replies to you, mentions you, sends a message, etc.

Do I have to activate something elsewhere?

    Hi guys,
I found a solution that worked with me.
    1- Delete Facebook app.
2- synch your phone and install it again.
3- create a US account on apple store that have a us address.
    4- download Facebook Messanger.
You will be able to receive Facebook message on the lock screen.
    Try it.

  • Mail notification not showing up in "Notification Center"

I have few emails configured with Mail but when a new mail arrives it does not show up in the notification center.
The notification center settings for "Mail" is set up as Alerts correctly.
Should I make the "Mail" to start automatically after login??

I am having the exact same problem. I've had a bit of issues setting up my Exchange account and get iCal to work properly, so ended up deleting my Exchange account and setting it up again. Before, emails showed in Notifications, now they don't, even when Mail's up and running. I've got my computer set up to show the last 10 items. I would appreciate any help anyone could proivde.

  • Why are Facebook notifications not showing up in Notification Center?

On OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Facebook account is setup in Internet Accounts preference pane in System Preferences.
Facebook is configured in Notifications preference pane in System Preferences.
The Share Buttons widget is configured in Notifications preference pane in System Preferences.
When I view my Facebook account via my web browser I usually have notifications available, but these notifications are not showing up in Notification Center.
I do receive Calendar, Mail, etc. notifications in Notification Center so I know it works.
I can send posts to Facebook via the Share Buttons widget in Notification Center, but presently I can receive nothing from Facebook..
Anyone know of a solution to this problem?
    Thanks!
P.S. I read in another thread how Facebook can be setup in iMessage, but I don't want to use iMessage if I can get Notification Center to function properly.

I got it to work yesterday. I tried none of the advice from discussions dealing with changing settings, enabling/disabling accounts, terminal commands, etc. All I did was ask a Facebook friend to respond to a post, and I was able to see the notifications in Notification Center.
I know most have their settings configured correctly in System Preferences, but this is how my preferences are configured on OS X Mavericks 10.9.3:
    (1) Internet Accounts preference pane:
There isn't much to configure here. I signed into my Facebook account. I checked or unchecked the Calendar and Contacts selections. It doesn't matter. I left the Description, found in the Details button window, as Facebook, but it doesn't matter, either.
    (2) Notifications preference pane:
Facebook alert style is set to Banners, but Alerts will also work just fine. This setting is crucial because if it's set to None, no alerts will be received. I left Show notifications on lock screen unchecked, but it doesn't matter if I check it or not. And I put a check mark in Show in Notification Center, and the number of Recent Items can be set to whatever available setting desired, mine is set to 20 Recent Items.
    (3) Notifications preference pane:
I placed a check mark on Show share button notifications in Notification Center, which is found when Share Button is selected in the list of notifications like Facebook, Calendar, Mail etc.
Again, I did nothing else, and it just works. As a side note: before I got it to work I called AppleCare and a senior advisor spent considerable time with me trying to find out why it wasn't working. And his last bit of advice was that I should reinstall the OS. He needs retraining because that bit of advice was ill-advised, to say the least.
I simply had no experience with receiving Facebook notifications in Notification Center 'on OS X', and the AppleCare employees had no training in this area, but if Notification Center is part of OS X, and Facebook notifications are part of Notification Center training in this area should be standard, but the AppleCare employees were guessing, not advising, which certainly is not technical support. Hence, my AppleCare dollars were not at work as expected.
So without prior knowledge as to how the specifics of 'Facebook' notifications worked in Notification Center on OS X, my assumption was I would be notified each time someone tagged me, someone liked a comment, post or photo of mine, someone commented on one of my posts, or someone sent me a direct message.
When I asked one of my Facebook friends to help me test it out, the following occurred (I don't remember if I had Safari up and running at this time - Note: I was signed into Facebook via Safari. I say this because AppleCare employees did explain on OS X some applications must be launched in order to received notifications, which in my mind is wasted time and code for Apple developers. Why offer notifications if the application is already launched? Ridiculous, if you ask me. That's what configuring each applications preference to set badge app icons, if it's not already coded by default.):
    (1) I sent a Facebook post via Notification Center using the Facebook Share Button.
    (2) I communicated with one of my Facebook friends by private message via iOS device and asked for a response to the post I sent.
    (3) My Facebook friend responded to my private message, but I don't remember if I received a notification in Notification Center.
    (4) My Facebook friend liked my post, shared my post, and commented on my post. I received two separate notifications in Notification Center on OS X, yet I received notifications on Facebook for all three actions, seen via iOS device. By the way, I wish Notification Center notifications would stay in Notification Center until we manually remove them. If they did stay until we manually remove them I would have time to find out which action of my friend I was received the notification for in Notification Center.
    That's it!

  • Notifications Not Showing Up in iCal

I have notifications set up in iCal to display 15 minutes before the event, but for some reason they are not showing up. My calendars are currently being synced with Google's Caldav servers, but even when I try to do it on a local calendar, the notifications are simply not popping up. They used to be fine in 10.5, but for some reason, nothing is popping up in iCal now. The notifications are fine on Gcal. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.

I don't seem to be getting iCal push notifications on my iOS devices and my Macs.  I have current versions of Lion (10.7.3) and iCal (5.0.2) and am using iCloud (@me.com) and the people that are sending me invites are using a variety of email accounts for their own iCloud accounts.  The point is that the invitations show up in the Calendar (outlined and background color of grey with the option to Accept or Decline) but they aren't pupulating in my "inbox" next to the "Calendar" button in the upper righthand corner.  Nor are they indicated on my iOS devices.  Both updated with the latest version of iOS 5.X.X. Anyone help?!

  • Today notification not showing weather

Two computers are set up exactly the same, or so I think, other than them being two different models. In the Notification Center there is a weather extension This is not in reference to that extension. This is in reference to the Today extension. On one machine the Today extension gives the day, date, and text summary of the present weather and predicted high temperature. This was also the case in the previous version of the Notification Center. For some reason one of the computers does not show this weather summary. Preferences are exactly the same in all places affecting the Notification Center i.e. Preferences>Extensions>Today, Preferences>Security & Privacy>Location Services, Preferences>Notifications and in the Notification Center Edit pane.
What else affects the extension and/or why is the weather statement not there on the second machine?

I have run into this as well except mine will show for a while then disappear.   I spoke with Apple Care, created a fake account and it worked fine, they then deleted some preferences in my usual profile and it worked for about a week.  I then reinstalled the OS and it worked fine for about a week.  Now I'm back to it not showing.
I've noticed when I turn on wifi on this imac the weather will then show.  If I cut wifi off then the weather will mess up again.

  • Phone notifications not showing up on iPhone 5S

For the Phone app, my notification alerts are not showing up on my iPhone 5S. I double checked all the settings - the alerts are set in the notification center, but the phone app does not behave according to my settings.  I only see a badge when someone calls, no the alert in the Notification Center. Anyone have any ideas for a fix? Thanks!

    Hello Veronica
Go through and Reset All Settings, by going to Settings > General > Reset > Settings > General > Reset. By doing this, it does not erase any personal data and will just put all of your settings back to its default. If it does that and still having issues, then let me know and I will provide another troubleshooting option.

  • Notification not showing on XP client

    Hi
I got SCCM 2007 r3 setup and it see's the client pc which is Windows XP but when I am trying to push out a windows update , a notification is now showing on the client machine , is there something I missed on this?
    Thank you.
    DJ SAI

    Hi,
Is it only for Windows XP clients that the popus are not showing? or do you have other clients with other versions? For Windows xp it was popular to disable balloon notifications which could affect it. You can also select to "hide all notification for
end-users" under Client agents, software update agent..

  • Ios 7 reminders notification not showing in all

Dont like the new notification centre.
First off on the today screen, if you have a meeting in the evening the day view takes up the whole screen. Turn it off and you lose the evening appt all together. Leave it on and you have to scroll down to see other notifactions 'hidden' at the bottom of the screen. I want the today section to be a splash view of what i have planned for the day. If i have day view on then my reminders are hidden at the bottom of the screen and then i dont remember! - so no point.
Second, i cant get reminders to appear in the 'all' section at all. They just dont, so its hardly 'all'
    Any ideas?
Lastly the overall feel of ios7 is bland.. I thought we were meant to see through the dull gray/white.. the phone call secion is horrid. Also you dont even see the picture of who your calling.. dont like this at all esp if your out and about and dont have your glasses with you! seeing a picture is far easier than reading the name, esp with this font! As for the way the apps are grouped in on the home section, i have actually 'un grouped' all my apps cause that horrid bubble that surrounds them makes the iphone look like it was designed for kids.
I like the control centre but why wasnt this feel carried over to the whole of the ios.
Lastly im an apple fan, love most things they do, have most products, but this ios for me has made some things really nice, but most things look horrid. dissapointed.
    Simon

Thanks, your tip worked for me too.
The remonders now show on the today screen BUT still do not show up in the all or missed section. In fact nothing ever seems to show on theses screens at all.
Also a huge weakness is that if you allow your reminders to show on the locked screen they can also easily be updated. In fact it is difficult not to touch the update circles.

  • E-mail notifications not showing on lock screen

A  few days ago my e-mail notifications stopped showing up on my lock screen and the banners disappeared from when using my iphone too. I've already check the settings in the notification centre and they are set ok, just not working. What do I do?

Try doing a reset on your iPhone,
Reset your iPhone by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPhone will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
Good luck and do report back.

  • Why do my notifications not show when I swipe down anymore?

please tell me how to re-start my notifications they are not available when I swipe down from the top of the screen

    Hi kellygreenthumb,
If you are having an issue with Notifications not being available on your iPhone, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
Understanding notifications on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
The section most relevant is -
    Get help
Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
Notifications use Wi-Fi only when a cellular connection is unavailable. Firewalls and proxy servers may affect your ability to receive notifications. For more information, see Unable to use Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
If you're not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
Verify that the app supports notifications.
After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app to begin receiving notifications. If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
Check Settings > Notification Center to ensure that the app is configured for notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L

  • Notifications not showing on iPad

    I have installed latest updates
I have changed the app setting in the notification center
The same app shows notifications on my iPhone
Will not display on my iPad

No clue what app or apps you are talking about. No clue as to how you set the notifications either. Without some More details, try the first step basic troubleshooting steps. Restart or reset the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
