Notifications on iOS5

My notifications from Facebook and twitter or echofon won't appear or notify me at all. I tried restarting my phone for a lot of times. I checked my settings and everything is fine, but it really doesn't want to send my notifications. Plus, the pop up for the push notifications when the app is installed doesn't appear. Help anyone? :(

Personally, I've never gotten consistent notifications from Facebook on any version of their App or iOS.

  • Mail notifications not working in Notification Centre iOS5

    Hi
I am using an iPhone 4 and recently updated to iOS5. Most of my notifications in the new Notification Centre work fine, except my Mail. Whenever I send a test email, it never pops up as a banner at the top of the screen, as it would like an ordinary iMessage. I have turned Mail 'On' in the Notification Centre, and after a couple tests I did get the feature to work, although the mail notification only popped up like 5 minutes after I initially sent it. For the most part, however, if I send a test email, I never receive the pop up notification. The only way I can receive mail is by manually going into the Mail app, as we all did before iOS5.
Please can someone offer some assistance here?
    Thank you!

I have a 3GS, and am having the same problem! I updated to iOS5 (with a multitude of other issues), and everything with mail was fine..it was only a couple weeks ago that I noticed I wasn't receiving notification of new emails in any email accounts. You're not alone!

  • Viber push notification error ios5

I'm having issues with viber in ios5. It prompts me to enable push notifications, which are enabled but viber thinks they're not. Any way to repair the push notification status?

Rebooting your phone means to turn it off and then on again. You will not lose any data or settings if you do that.

  • Duplicate Email Notifications on iOS5

I am currently having issues with notifications on my iphone, but not all the notifications, just my email.
I checked the settings for notifications already (banner, bubble, etc)
All other items show up as a single notification, but for emails, i receive duplicates, even though I only receive the email once.
Is there something I set up wrong to have this happen (ie: iCloud, email, notifications, exchange email)?
I am definitely sure that its just email and its not any other items that are duplicated.
    Thank you.

Found this answer which worked for me
For anyone else with the problem. I went into settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; Accounts; then turned off one of the "mail" options on my two email accounts.
    One account is for email.
One account is for syncing my calendar.

  • Lion Server push notifications to iOS5

    Hello All,
I'm having trouble with push notificaitions to iOS 5 devices from Lion Server.  Mail, Contacts and Calendar services appear to be working but any time new mail or new meeting invite is sent, I see the below error message regarding APNS:

I recently updated my APNS certificate, which I believe could be part of the problem.  All iOS devices are on the same subnet as the server, so firewalling is not an issue.  Moreover,  I'm not blocking traffic outbound (to the internet) so I know the server can connect to the APNS.  Any ideas or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    re Question 2 APN & 2195
Looks like you need to forward Port 2195 & maybe also port 2196
To use Profile Manager, you should ensure that the following ports are open on your network.

  • Twitter notifications on iOS5

I am very happy that iOS5 now supports custom alert tones for various contacts, messages, programs, etc.  However, this feature does not seem to be working with Twitter.  If I go to Settings -> Sounds -> Tweet I can change to any alert tone that I want, however when the tweet comes in it always defaults to the apple "ding" no matter what I choose.
Anyone else experience this, and if so have you found a fix?  I know a minor complaint, but still annoying.
    Thanks in advance

I have read this issue from a lot of users here on the forum.  I believe it is a bug at this point and hopefully something Apple will fix.
    I hope this helps!

  • No Twitter and Facebook Notifications

There's still no sign of Twitter and Facebook push notifications appearing following the introduction of Notifications in ios5.
All the settings in Notifications for these apps are set correctly and I have the latest versions of the apps. I'm getting other
notifications - Mail, Calendar etc - but no Facebook or Twitter.
One other question on this. Assuming this does get to work, exactly what notifications should be received? For example, is it just Direct Messages
on Twitter rather than posts by people you follow? Same question with Facebook.

Here is my experience with this issue.
First of all, I have an iPhone 4S (my first iPhone), and when I first got my iPhone in the mail and installed Facebook (fb) I was getting my fb notifications without any issues.  Then after installing others apps and receiving updates, all the sudden I stopped receiving my fb notifications via fb app.   The only way that I would get fb notifications was by e-mail, but I soon realized this was going to be so annoying.  Thereafter, I decided to search online and see if there other customers with iPhones were having the same issues I had encountered.  Surprisingly enough, I found this thread.  After reading all of your comments herein, the first thing I did was to delete my fb app from my iPhone.  Secondly, I deleted my fb app from my previous smartphone (bb), and thereafter, I downloaded fb onto my Mac through iTunes, and from there to my iPhone.  I can now say, that thus far this has resolved my issue, and I'm now getting fb notifications on my iPone via the fb app.

I seem to be having the same problem on my brand new iPhone 4S. Everything was working fine on the phone until I updated to iOS 5.1.1, but now I no longer receive push notifications for the native Mail app, Instagram, or the Facebook app. I still seem to be receiving SMS texts and iMessages via push, but the aforementioned apps need to be opened before I can receive missed notifications (having them open in the background seems to make no difference).
Thanks for any help that you may provide!

did you try notifications under settings? You can customize it as per your requirement, for each application.

  • I just downloaded ios5 to my iPhone 3gs but nothing has changed ... i don't have a notification centre or anything ! help please !! :(

I just downloaded ios5 to my iPhone 3gs but nothing has changed i have no notification center or anything help!

    Hi,
Just updated Mac with Lion Recovery and Mac OSX update, then updated my iPhone 3Gs with V5 software. Here is a screen shot of my notification center.
Have to say all went extremely smoothly along with a few cups of coffee, only thing that happened was after I hooked up to iCloud I needed to get an iPhoto update in order to get photo stream working, which I did and all is fine.
Once again a big thank you to Apple and all the hard working tech people.
Not sure what has happend but are you sure that the upgrade took? Just check your software version in settings > general > about.

  • I've got the iOS5.1 update notification directly in my phone settings

've got the iOS5.1 update notification directly in my phone settings but neither I want to update my phone nor I want that little "red 1" displaying on my screen!! How do I get rid of it? There's no option in the settings... pls help!
P.s: isn't weird that only I got that notification directly the settings while my friends didn't? (mine is an American iPhone 4s while my friend's is from the UK)

Okay I have a stupid question but I am new to IPhone and appreciate you experience...if I update the software will I lose my text message, photos and songs and have to dowload them again from ITunes?  Or, is it just like a software update on the computer where if updates without effecting anything?

  • IOS5 on iPhone and iPad - Notification Center Probs

I upgraded to iOS5 yesterday on both my iPhone 4 and iPad 1.  On both devices, the same things are happening when I look in the notification center:
Sometimes the calendar shows up and sometimes not
The calendar jumps around as though it is trying to disappear
All appointments (my calendar and my wife's) are showing up even though I only have my calendar visible in the normal calendar view.
Another issue: and iMessage is a bit slow and has crashed a couple of times.
Wait for the first patch?  How can I tell Apple about this?

You cannot change it. If you're delivering video on web, your viewers can see any url, even if you embed it like Google. Even if they have the URL, you should have some sort of authentication. Are you saying you have no Authentication on these urls that determines if a viewer can see the video or not?

  • After upgraded iOS5 on my ipad2, sound notification gone dead even with setting sound on

After upgrading my ipad2 to ios5, sounds notification doesn't work, even though setting sound is on

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • Push notifications work after restore, but not after reboot - ios5 iPhone 4

Push notifications work after I restore my iPhone (confirmed by ipusher and facebook), but from the first time that I turn off/reboot the phone push notifications stop working!? I have restored several times, as the same thing happens every time.
    I have an iPhone 4g 32gb running ios5.0.1.

If it's all push notifications, restore the device as "new" and see if the problem goes away.
If it's push notifications for specifics apps, contact the developer of those apps.
