Notify User When Student Discount Is Near 1 Year Expiration

I think it would be fair to notify users when their 50% off student discount is about to expire. I was recently suprised when my bill jumped to $10 with no notice. Could be notififed through application or by e-mail. I just think it's a fair thing to do. Keep up the great work though.

A warning for when Student Discount is about the expire

There is nothing written about how student discount is needed to be renewed after a year, and there is no warning when this is coming to an end. This means students can often be charged full price without them being aware. This is unfair, since we all knowstudents are not exactly the richest bunch of people!!
An e-mail with a warning a month before, with links to renew should be customary.

Its a 12 month student deal only which it states when signing up. After that, (atleast in the UK) you can't go back to a half price subscription. Bit of shame that I cant renew my subscription even though im still a university student, and will be for atleast 2 years!

College Student Discount Email I Received was Expired

I signed up to get the College Student Discount Email but when I Received it , it wasan Expired coupon. It expired 5-03-14 and I signed up on 5-04-14. Also, when i go to the best buy website it still says that the offer is still going on. Can someone help me or inform me when the issue will be fixed, thank you.

I can imagine it would be quite confusing to receive a coupon that has already expired. I sincerely apologize for any confusion this has caused.

Student Discount and the CC year Subscription

If I am currently a student for design and purchase the full year of the prepaid Creative Cloud and If for whatever reason I decide not to return to school the following semester will my Creative Cloud Student Subscription be canceled? what are the terms in that situation?

On the terms it says this "We may verify your academic status at any time and if we find that you don't qualify, we may suspend your account. "
Does that entail that you will not be refunded? I just want to make sure If I buy the full year I'm going to get the full year in a worst case scenario. If not, I'd rather get the monthly but don't want to be responsible to maintain the monthly payments when I can afford the full year prepaid

How to notify users when they are timed out?

So I am a developer for fortune 500 company and the network infrastructure team came to me with an odd request for an application that taps into Anyconnect. I find it hard to believe that this functionality doesn't exist.
So here is the scenario. We have Anyconnect set up to not have an idle timeout. However we have it set up to disconnect after 12 hours.
Here is the problem. When the end user meets that 12 hours, it just disconnects on them. There are no warning messages, no messages they have been disconnected. Just the connection is terminated.
So my question is there any way to set this up to notify the user they have been disconnected and need to reconnect. Is there a way to notify them in advance that they will be disconnected in say 30 minutes?
They want me to create an application that periodically checks the connection time by executing
C:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client>vpncli stats traffic
Getting the time connected then if they are nearing the timeout time then start presenting the user with a warning.
So that's basically my question. Is there no way to set this up in Anyconnect? If we are supposed to see these messages is it something our team might have disabled?
We are using Anyconnect 3.1.01065 on Windows XP and Windows 7

Actually yes, at least in our environment. Using Citrix applications and VT Terminal applicaitons they need a constant connection. If the user disconnected say via an Idle Timeout then their sessions into these applications can and will hang. Not only that the older VT terminal sessions if hung durring a process that locks records or tables then it is locked for everyone. They have to call our helpdesk and have them kill the user. Citrix gets a little wacky as well if the user just blinly disconnects. So idle timeouts are actually a bad thing. Also a user might through a terminal session or though a citrix connection start a long run transaction. For example a blueprint sent off to a render farm could take 3-4 hours to render some have even take 10 hours. So a user may start a process and then go away especially on the weekend.
So while there are issues with the internet in general that can cause disconnects most of this software will try reconnecitng from the server to the client everal times before finally giving up. So a quick break in internet connectivity is not an issue, a idle timeout where it doesn't reconnect until the user returns doesn't work.

Notifying users when a request is made

I have a problem when launching notifications when sending response to a request.
Here the scene in detail:
1. The user user01 (who makes the request) with mail account: [email protected] makes a resource request through the administration console of Oracle Identity Manager.
2. He gets a notice via email to the user's account approv (who approved the request) to account mail: [email protected]
3. The sender of the email the user approver in this case is correct:
From: [email protected]
To: [email protected]
4. When the user approver approves or rejects the request he receives a message notifying the requesting user
From: [email protected]
To: [email protected]
5. According to point No.4 the requesting user should receive notification of the user in this case: From: [email protected]
The stage is on an environment of Oracle Identity Manager 9.1.0.2
Any recommendation to correct this notification process. thanks

What is required is notified through the e-mail to each applicant (this part if configured correctly) when making the request and notify the approver with your email address to the requesting users the status of the application when approved or rejected (in this part the notification has been done with the requesting user's account. See example in the previous thread)
In addition the accounts you have created with the duly completed Mail field.

Notify users when their disk space is running low

Hi all,
I'm an administrator of about 100 Apple macs and an OS X server and generally speaking, problems are pretty easy to fix. There is just one major problem I'm always having and its simple to fix, which is that when Users run out of home disk space (only 600MB each) applications start crashing (understandably). The problem is that users don't actively watch their free disk space and when things start going wrong, I'll come along and point out that they need to delete some things and it'll start working again.
What I'm having trouble with (because I'm an absolute beginner) is making an AppleScript (or whatever would be best) to watch for when their home space is getting full (with 20MB free space) it'll pop up and say "don't trouble the technician, delete some files!" (or something along those lines)
So, here's what I have (pretty pathetic)

Is their a way of finding disk space of a Home Drive (which is on a network drive on the server)

--I'm sure there are several ways to do what you want; here's one that works on an individual computer. If necessary, suitable changes should be possible for server situations, but someone else will have to jump in on that. Copy this to Script Editor, make suitable modifications, then save it as an application; be certain "Startup Screen" isn't checked. Either have the user start it when the computer is started up, or place it in the log-in items (System Peferences) so that happens automatically.

Student Discount Disappeared

I've been using Spotify Premium with a student discount for about a year but this month I was charged full price. I am still a full time student, so I dont understand why I don't have discount anymore and why I wasn't notified when this was going to happen and if I can be reimbursed for this months extra payment?

Hi Pete, Im having the same problem. Twice Ive been charged full price and did not recover the funds back (I am a student and was charged 9.99 then 4.99 the next day in april. I wasnt charged the next month, but I paid for three months. Now, it charged me 9.99 again, three months later, but I am still a student. Can you please help me get all of this situated? Student discount/ Card rejection

I was on vacation when my student discount ran out. I am still a college student and would like to keep the discount, but since I was to renew my account on July 27th (it's now August 2nd and I got to read the email informing me of the problem this morning), I fear I'm going to have to pay for a month of premium before I can renew my student subscription.I read that the way to do this is to revert one's account to free and then apply for the student discount again (as the offer "expires" after a year). However, I can't revert to free until I update my card info.My credit card was frozen while I was on vacation (a bunch of sudden out of state charges sent up red flags and the account was frozen). I assume that's why the automatic payment wasn't processed on the 27th. I can't unfreeze my card until tomorrow (when business hours resume).Is there a number I can call or somewhere I can email to sort this mess out tomorrow? I really don't want to have to pay full price just because I was on vacation.

Is it giving you an error when you try to cancel your subscription here? It should allow you to cancel without updating any payment details which prevent you from being charged.

Renew student discount after 1 year period

Hi, I just logged in to my account and saw, to my surprise, that my student discount was cancelled in June, and am set to be charged $9.99 per month from July 6. When I checked "receipts", it appears that the discount ran out last month, having run one year. I saw the terms and conditions now, and it looks like a student discount must be renewed before it is set to expire. Since my student discount expired (basically in May 2015) and I was charged the regular premium price in July, is there any hope to renew the student discount now for another year? If so, how? Many thanks!

Spotify Charing me Full Price - Where did my student discount go?

I'd been having the student discount price since last year and suddenly, with no warning (which I think is poor business practice but whatever) it's reverted to full price. I went to the student discount page to see if I need to sign up for it again but it says I am not eligible for the student rate, despite still being an enrolled, full-time university. I'm seeing in the T&C that the student discount does only go for 12 months. This seems silly, since most people are students for 4+ years, but whatever. The bottom line is that I wasn't warned of this account switch beforehand. How do I go about either being put back on the discounted price and having the difference refunded to me for this month's charge, or cancelling premium altogether and having all of this month cancelled instead?

I apologize for the billing change to your account. The student discount can be a little tricky at times. As you saw in the terms and conditions, the student discount needs to be re-verified every 12 months. The problem is that the account cannot have an active subscription while applying the discount. Since you currently have Spotify Premium, you need to cancel it here and wait for your account to revert back to 'Spotify Free' before re-applying the discount.
