Nouveau driver on Xorg how to set screen borders/margins ?

Hi I'm using the nouveau driver on a TV screen at the resolution of 640x240, the problem is that the TV screen is an old screen of an arcade cabinet and some of the Xorg screen is out of the actual TV frame.
There's a way to center the image from Xorg ?
I'm looking for a solution but i didn't find yet.

I've messed out with the Modeline with no results and now i guess that my problem is a bit different... Advmame and sdlmame appear at center perfectly, wahcade too.
I got an overscan problem only with xterm and xmame that appear cut out on the left. So I'm guessing is a problem of "Xorg related applications" ?
There's a way to fix that ? I use the geometry option for xterm so i can put the console to the center of the screen... but this is more like a workaround than a stable solution, i would like to find a base solution for every Xorg related application and not using geometry for every Xorg app.
Anyway if I'll find out what can i do and I'll post my workaround when i come up with something stable.

I've find out what was the problem with xmame.
I've changed the value of two configuration variables from 0 to 1:
video-mode 1 # stands for: 1 Fullscreen DGA (hotkey left-alt + home)
fullscreen 1 # xmame to fullscreen

I need information on how Adobe Drive works and how to set it up

Hey folks,
believe it or not, but I have been searching a lot on the web already on how to find information how Adobe Drive works and how to set it up.
Most information that I found is old and seems to be valid only for older versions of Creative suite. Here in the company we use CS5.5 and will switch to CS6 soon.
I already downloaded Adobe Drive 3 and installed it on my Mac. Unfortunately I don't know what to do next? Do I need Adobe CQ to make it work? Or can I use it with an existing SVN infrastructure, that we have here? Actually I would like to access the SVN via Adobe Bridge. But after the installation of Adobe Drive my Bridge CS5.5 is crashing while starting up, and I didn't find out how to fix this again.
Actually I just found the manual for Adobe Drive 3 and read it. Seems to be easy in case its working. But it's not in my case, as mentioned above.
Any idea what could be the problem?

in the meantime I managed to re-setup Adobe Drive 3 again. Bridge CS5.1 is still crashing (i have a log-file with a detailed error-report, if somebody knows how to extract information from this.
At least now I can start Drive as a standalone application.
So now my main question is how to connect Drive 3 to our subversion infrastructure in the company. Does anybody have information on this?

How to set Screen type "Selection Screen" in Dialog program

I have copied a screen 400 from a program into my program. In that screen in source program, the screen type was defined as 'Selection Screen'. After i copied that screen into my program, the screen type Selection Screen option is disabled. How to set the screen type of a screen to Selection Screen.
I am currently getting the following error
"Error when generating the selection screen "0400" of "Ztest_screen ".
I tried running the generation program RSDBGENA. There the diagnosis was given as follows:
When generating the report Ztest_screen and its selection screen, an existing screen 1000 (not a selection screen) was overwritten.
The selection screen was defined as follows:
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 400 AS SUBSCREEN.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK blck1 WITH FRAME TITLE text-001.
SELECT-OPTIONS: s_matnr FOR mara-matnr.
PARAMETERS: p_werks TYPE werks_d OBLIGATORY.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK blck1.

I am calling the screen 400 with selection screen declarations in PBO of screen 0100.

I had copied the generated screen 400 also from the source program into my program. This was the error. I deleted that and the report got activated now.
Both the source and destination programs are not module pool. They are executable programs.

How to set screen resolution on Apple TV Gen2

This is my first bad out of the box experience with an Apple product. I got my brand new Apple TV Gen 2 and hooked it up to our Sony Receiver/TV.
Plugged everything in. Turned it on and I got the screen but am not able to change resolution. With the current resolution I can not see all the menus and the display does not fit on the 40" display.
Tried unplugging.
Tried doing a reset.
Tried holding the Menu & Down arrow
Tried looking through the menus, such as Settings, Video & Audio but can't find anything on setting screen resolution
Tried searching this forum for instructions for changing resolution
Much appreciation in advance for any tips or magic tricks on setting screen resolution.

i also have this problem. i had a long discussion with apple support and the result was that apple tv 2 is not build for connecting it to a receiver but only to a up-to-date flat TV. i don´t know how i managed it to use the 720p resolution but as i had it i set the auto power to off and let it switched on all the time.
after the update to 4.2.1 it had no chance to get it to 720p. it is locked to 1024x768 which is not the resolution i want to watch HD movies.
but my setup is not a normal one. i have a onkyo AV receiver which is sending the HDMI signal over a HDMI splitter to an LCD screen and a HD beamer. the LCD screen is an old one which has no HDMI input, i use a HDMI to analog-component converter for this. the HDMI output of the onkyo is connected to a wireless HDMI system from marmitek.
so its not so the ideal setting for apple tv. i hope that everything works fine if i have a new flat TV with a normal HDMI input.

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
*do not clear the Site Preferences

Portable hard drive suggestions on how to set it up.

Hey guys! I have a question and I'm looking for some advice. I got a portable hard drive for Christmas and since I'm not sure how to set it up I was wondering if I can get some help from you guys on how to set it up according to my needs.
The portable hard drive is 320GB and what I want to do is set it up for time machine to back up my MacBook, and also be able to read and write on the portable hard drive using a PC, Mac, and my PS3.
I'm assuming I would need to format it into Fat32 so my macbook can write to the hard drive? Also from my understanding PS3's can only detect fat32? So would you guys recommend me formatting it into fat32 and how would I go about doing that? Plus do you guys have any other suggestions? I wish I could use the portable hard drive for boot camp but maybe I'll just transfer my iTunes library on the hard drive and sacrifice my MacBooks HD space for boot camp? Thanks! And happy new years

No idea about PS3.
TM needs a Mac OS extended Journaled format which cannot be seen by Win.
I would leave a Disc only to TM which is a complicated but serious easy and affordable backup.
Fat 32 could be OK to transfer files between Mac And Win systems but you will need to copy files manually to it. More.. Fat system is not so safe and stable as MacOS.
Teoretically you could partition your drive with Disc Utility into 2 Discs and use one for TM and the other for rest. I am not 100% sure if you can do it (I mean use TM on one of the Partition Formatted as MAC OS Jour) but you can try. As I wrote I would not do it.

How to set HP5610 default margins

We print a lot of documents/forms from the state and the last quarter inch or so gets cut off the bottom of the documents, and the state won't take them unless the offical form number is displayed (and it's naturally on the very bottom of the page).
How do I set the default margin for the HP5610? This happens across all 3 of our browsers (IE, FireFox, Chrome), although the forms are in pdf form.

First, you'll want to uninstall the current software:
Uninstalling the Printer Software
Then, put your printer into clean boot mode:

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, reinstall the software via the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

How to set Screen Sharing to greyscale on Leopard 10.5

The new screen sharing feature (just a built in VNC client) is decent, although I would've liked it better if it gave an option to view the connected computer in greyscale (like Apple Remote Desktop can), so as to make the screen redrawing much quicker. This is how you do that:
To change this setting manually, open up the Terminal and type in the following command:
defaults write com.apple.ScreenSharing controlObserveQuality 2
This changes the controlObserveQuality setting within this plist file: “~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ScreenSharing.plist” file to 2, which is grey scale. To change it to a different resolution, substitute the number 2 with one of the following numbers:
1 = black and white
2 = grey scale
3 = 8 bit color
4 = 16 bit color
5 = full color
However, when you've connected and you're all happy that you have greyscale, if you then choose Adaptive Quality from the View menu in Screen Sharing, this will set the default back to 3 (8 bit color), and you'll have to run the Terminal command or edit the .plist file again - so, just leave it when you initially set it and all will be well!

I tried the malisphoto.com solution it but it didn't work for me.
I even tried the one at entropy.com but that also didn't work.
I was very careful and successful in the command line (bash) and afterwards, phpInfo() showed that the GD library was installed, however, my localhost GD (gif draw) scripts still kept showing the same old error messages on my localhost (and not online): "Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagecreatefromgif()"
Perhaps I'm just wrong to think PHP GD will work on my localhost pages after performing these installations - perhaps I'm misunderstanding something? Am I'm trying to change a light-bulb with a jack-hammer?
I should also point out that both solutions made my localhost run extremely slow. After restoring my system, it's all working fine (but without php GD).
My system is a Power Mac 10.5.8 Leopard
This is really lame. Is Apple trying to shut out PHP now? Is PHP the new "Flash"?

I have added one custom tab with seven fields in the PO item level using the BADI 'ME_GUI_PO_CUST and ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST'.
Now i want to change the screen property dynamically. According to some calculation i need to change the customer fields in display mode and change mode. when ever it is in change mode i need to set the fields as mandatory.
How can i implement this logic using this BADI. Please help in solving this issue.

Swapping optical drive for SSD - How to set it up?

I'm going to purchase a Crucial M4 128GB SSD for my Late 2011 13" i7 Macbook Pro. I don't use my optical drive at all, so I figure I may as well swap that out for my current 750GB HDD, and put the SSD in the main harddrive bay. I know full well how to physically install the respective drives, but my confusion comes when cloning the current HD onto the SSD, then moving all your media files (music, movies, documents etc) over to the HD, while keeping your system files and applications on the SSD.
So what I really need, is a PROPER in depth guide from the start of the setup process (First boot after installation of physical drives) detailing how to copy my system files and applications over to the SSD so I can boot from it, while keeping my data & media files on the HD and being able to access them all as I normally would through finder.
Any and all responses are appreciated - I need all the advice i can get!

If you use a cloning software program it will move, actually copy, everything from your original drive to the SSD.
No need to anything after that to get the SSD to boot and have all your programs and data.
