Novation ReMote : Please help !
Hi,
I´ve just purchased a Remote 61 and I´mn totaly disappointed with this tool. Ok, the keys are great and the knobs looks good, but how can I use it to controll Logic Pro 7.1 ??
I did all thing which are described in the manual. So I changed the prference files , I loaded the Logic 7 remotLSO, but nothing works.
It´s nearly uselesse at the moment and I´m really depressed, cause I thought that I am able to controll a lot of AU instruments as well as Logic too.
I would like to know if somebody here in that forum can show me a way how I can use the Remote with the templates. Or maybe someone has written his own template which works fine ?

I own a Novation Remote as well and like any MIDI controller, it takes learning how to setup your MIDI controller to work with your DAW. If you read the Novation Manual, download the appropriate template editor, drivers, etc... then you'll be up and running in no time. It took me about 2 days to build all of my templates (for all the synths) and get total control of logic just using the Remote. Just have patience. One thing I've noticed though is the Novation drivers seem to be very buggy in OSX Tiger. I've had continuous crashes with the Remote and my friend just installed the Novation Remote and said Logic has been crashing on him since installing it. So, if you can, run the controller through an Audio interface to avoid potential issues.

Okay so I used v7 of the installer on Novation's site (so the Novation OS is on 1.015), but the Logic automapping doesn't seem to work right. I read that one thread on it, but nobody seemed to have a clearcut way to get it to work.
Am I supposed to do something else?I got a SL Remote 25 and it's fine. I downloaded all drivers and templates, and when I scroll through the menu it displays all templates from Logic to Bass station. When I open Logic it recognizes it and switches to automap. Can't get the transport to work though.
In Reason the automapping is amazing. Logic isn't fully operational yet, but Reason is and I can't wait till it works like Reason.
I'd say install every driver available, start with the first one and finally v7. Then try again. Maybe open the free bass station included in Logic and select the mapping for the bass station on the SL. That's how I did it.
From there on, try a few plugins in Logic and use automap to display the parameters on the SL. -

I'm having trouble setting up a VPN using MAC OSX 10.4.11 Server. I have and XSAN system and one of my volumes has been down for quite a while now. There is a very kind MAC IT professional that is willing to help be troubleshoot my system but he needs to be able to access my system remotely. I am able to connect the MDC to DSL but I haven't been able to set up the VPN. Please help, this is an emergency. Thanks!

ITunes, iPad, Remote app Home Sharing Problems. Please help!
So I have my 13" Macbook Pro with the latest version of iTunes installed (10.5.2)
I also have a 32GB Wifi iPad 2 with iOS (5.0.1) with the Remote app installed.
I am so frustrate with this stupid Home Sharing. I followed the directions the app gave me beginning with turning on Home Sharing on iTunes on my MacBook with my account. I then used the same account to turn on Home Sharing on my iPad from the Remote app. I wait a bit, and wait some more, and yet my iTunes library isn't shown in my Remote app like it is in my iPhone.
I've tried to find the answer to my problem via Google and these Apple Support Communities, but with no fix.
I wish you could just connect your device to the computer and punch in the 4-digit code like they used to have you do.
Please help! Thanks in advance.Try turning Home Share off then on on the MacBook Pro and then check Remote App to see if now appears and you can connect - for me it works but eventually I will have to repeat the process to get it working again.
The four digit code method still works.

I just lost my iphone5 in a foreign country. Was not able to previously register it with icloud and have not installed the findmy iphone app. How can i wipe out my data remotely without these setups? Is there any good app i can use to track it? Please help!

PLEASE HELP, SOMEONE REMOTELY VIEWING/SCREEN SHARING MY MACBOOK?
Hi - I urgently need help from anyone who knows about this issue - I am a very basic macbook user, and don't really know about all the different programmes etc. I believe someone ( the guy who sold me the macbook, who told me he was a mac repair person and programmer) has been hacking into the computer, using the remote access - there is a programmed called SCREEN SHARING but I cannot access it - and a bunch of other files such as odsagent etc - not sure if these indicate he is using the screen sharing/ remote access to my mac.
The reason that I believe he is accessing the mac, is that he downloaded all the files, so would clearly have access to passwords etc, there were loads of his old files, that showed pictures of people saying " target", and old files showing he was studying comuter/ mac programming. The first time I went online all of a sudden the computer froze, and two green lights showed on the num lock key and the shift key I think, the two keys were frozen, and the keyboard basically wouldnt respond, but the activity continued on the screen. This has happened a number of times since then, usually just randomly the keyboard freezes, and if you wait a while it goes back to normal - the mouse works fine, then one day it keep sort of freezing/ getting stuck/ pausing for no reason - the next day its fine again. He put in a load of software, which he has obviously been able to get round the need of liscening numbers, as he did not provide me with them. one day I saw a name "macbook pro" suddenly appear, and that it was tryin to connect/ share or something - this has never happened to me before with my old mac- it was like another computer was connecting/ sharing with my computer without my permission - this was when I was online. This has not happened since.
I am scared he is accessing the computer, because these things that happened, and because there is loads and loads of files and programmes, which sound suspicious, i dont know what they do, and I just have this dogey feeling about this guy, and the fact that there is screen viewing/ remote management files etc which I cant access, but I am not sure if they are being accessed.
PLEASE HELP - I FEEL LIKE MY PRIVACY IS BEING INVADED - I was speaking to my family on Skype and the green lights came on/ it froze, I continued with the conversation, but later I felt like he might have been watching.
If anyone can recommend an expert in the London area, that can check the mac to see there is nothing on there that is being used to remotely control/ screen share my mac, I would be very grateful - its just horrible using your computer, and always being worried someone is invading your privacy, and and downloading your files etc.

Many thanks for your help in advance.Since you don't know much about computers, disconnect your internet (wireless or wired) to prevent future unwanted access. While it is smart to contact Apple Communities, this is a criminal matter and you should consider taking the matter to the police. People like this will not stop with you. You need to list the private data that may be stolen and take action (cancel credit cards, change passwords, bank accounts, phone numbers, whatever you have cause to be worried about). If you can afford it, buy a new hard drive, remove the old one, and install OS X from scratch. Give your old hard drive to the cops. Make sure you turn the Firewall on (click the Apple up on the toolbar top left > System Preferences > Security) and uncheck any "Sharing" options (System Prefernces > Sharing). This event you are experiencing is unfortunate, and rare, but with a pro-active attitude you will come through it fine - and wiser.

dgambler is right in that by purchasing a Snow Leopard disk (presuming you don't already have one) and performing a fresh install (it is easy) is a sure way to "take back" the controls of your Mac. You will need to study online tutorials for "wiping the drive" rather than a simple install. But you should let the police look at the hard drive before you do that - they will be able to see exactly what this person did.

I UNPAIRED MY remote by mistake please help me
hey guys i just unpaired my apple remote by mistake i think by holding play/pause button and the menu button for like 6 seconds and now i cant re- pair my apple remote with my ATV2 , when i click something on the remote the led light on the atv2 flashes twice and nothing happens, please help me , how do i re pair my apple remote?
Message was edited by: lamonsasaIf you unpair the remote, the Apple TV will (or should) respond to any appropriate remote, so the problem isn't that you unpaired (assuming that you actually did unpair).
I have had this happen a few times with my Apple TV 2. After power-cycling the Apple TV, it responds to my remote (and then I can re-pair it so that it won't respond to other remotes). -
I use FPT to try to view a directory on a remote server that contains 19000 files, but only 10000 are showing. Please help.

You can be right that DISM don’t support the scenario that User profile and System are in the separated volumes.
As a workaround, we should use the defaults to put the profile on C: during capture image, and then set the profile path to be on the D: drive after the image deploying.

Not possible to select the button i want with the remote on my menu..please help
Am I missing somthing? I have my menu all set up in DVD Studio Pro. Everything works fine on the simulator. After burning the DVD and playing it on a computer where i can use my cursor to pick the button, everything works fine. However, when i put it on a DVD player, the buttons are never highlighted..i can't pick and choose a button with my remote. Is there something else i need to do for this to work? Please help.

I by mistake turned on my speak reature on the my apple TV. Now it speaks everthing when I navigate through the remote. I cannot figure out how to turn it off.

My iphone 5 was recently stolen. I had the service shut off, but I don't know how to remotely wipe out my data from my phone! Please help!!
YOu can only do that if you had find my iphone setup and activated prior to having your phone stolen.
Then you log into icloud.com to remote wipe, but your phone has to be connect to wifi or cellular data to do that. -
Use 2nd gen apple tv and remote control app on iphones and ipad. We can control some functions on the apple tv but unable to purchase, access such controls as reset, restart, turn off home sharing, etc. Home sharing stuck on old apple ID. Please help.
That is why I said to restore via iTunes, did you check the link?
This will put it back to factory settings and you can set it up with the new ID once you reconnect with your HDTV. This is not done via ethernet, as per the link you need to connect to the computer via micro usb. You cannot bypass home sharing.
FYI: An Apple ID cannot be deleted so the old one would still exist (even if you no longer use the email account it is associated with). -
MS Remote Desktop Printing stopped working correctly. Please Help!!
I have been using MS Remote Desktop for mac for a couple months now. I had no problem printing from windows to a printer shared on a local windows network. For some reason it does not print correctly now. The print is aligned wrong and it doesn't fit on the screen. It is almost like its using the wrong driver. I know that the Apple Laserwriter driver sends the print to my mac which redirects it into the proper format. It worked great for a couple months, like I said. I don't know if the problem happened when I changed to the RDC 2.0b2. I tried going back to the original beta and it didn't work either. I don't know what went wrong. Please help me, I rely on this heavily. Thank You.
RDC still works for me, I'm glad to have windows to log into to avoid all the Mac Bugs !
