Novice to Blackberry help needed !!!!!!
I am struggling with my 1st Blackberry (curve 8320on the box 8520 on the desktop) carrier Virgin (who can't or won't help). I am firstly trying to set up wifi with no success at all. When I got it a week ago it connected to the wifi immediately. However, the cable modem then broke & virgin replaced this & since then I can't connect at all. I get messages using things like SSID codes or if I go manually it tell me to type in a code - where does this go? Also, when I connect BB to laptop, I can't see anything that is on the phone on the BB desktop, what on earth am I doing wrong? I'm sooooo frustrated with this.
Following the official tutorial should be a good starting point. Also looking at official samples implementation.

Help needed to create additional memory.............
I recently purchased a 4Gb SD memory card for my 8830 World Edition through the Bell Network (GPRS, CDMA) v4.5.0.127
I have followed the instructions online to install and activate the new media card. It looks as if I have done everything ok and changed all the settings
media card - on
encryption - none
mass storage -on
auto enable -yes
I have formatted the card and it tells me that it was successful.
When I go into options - media card it shows that I have 3.6Gb free but when I go into options-Status it tells me I have 0 free space available.
My Bberry is obviously jamming up all the time with the hourglass as there is no free space.
Any suggestions on what I need to do?
Do I have to move data from my bbery hard drive to my media card and if so how do I do this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to Solution.First of all, you have an 8830 and you posted in the 8300 section. You might want to ask a moderator to move your post.
As for your issue, you'll first want to turn off the encryption on the card. If you ever remove the card from the BB device you will not be able to recover any data from it. If you require that kind of security then, by all means, leave it turned on but most don't need that and it only causes headaches later.
Second, Your memory in "Options >Status" is different than what you have available on the media card. You cannot solve your memory problems with the addition of a media card.
You'll need to move any pictures you have stored on the device memory over to the media card. If you have 3rd party apps you may need to remove some of them.
I wrote a very heavily viewed post a while back on another forum about this very problem. Fortunately, RIM has increased the amount of application memory available on the newer devices. Here is the post. It should help:

Help needed with header and upload onto business catalyst
Can someone help with a problem over a header please?
I have inserted a rectangle with a jpeg image in background, in the 'header' section, underneath the menu. It comes up fine on most pages when previsualised, going right to the side of the screen, but stops just before the edge on certain pages. I have double checked that I have placed it in the right place in relation to the guides on the page.
That's one problem.
The second problem is that I tried to upload onto business catalyst, which got to 60% and refused to go any further, saying it couldn't find the header picture, giving the title and then u4833-3.fr.png. The picture is in the right folder I have double checked. And it isn't a png. Does it have to be ?
And the third problem is that I got an email following my upload from business catalyst in Swedish. I am living in France.

How can I check the preview in other browsers before I publish a provisional site with BC?
The rectangle width issue happens on certain pages but not others. The Welecom page is fine when the menu is active, also the contact page, but others are slightly too narrow. Changing the menu spacing doesn’t help - I was already on uniform but tried changing to regular and back.
In design mode the rectangle is set to the edge of the browser, that’s 100%browser width right?
Re BC I have about 200 images on 24 different pages and it seems to be having difficulty uploading some of them. But it has managed a couple I named with spaces but not others I named with just one name.
Is there an issue on size of pictures ? If I need to replace is there a quick way to rename and relink or do I have to insert the photos all over again?
I’m a novice with Muse with an ambitious site !

Answering the questions :
- Have you checked the preview in Muse and also in other browsers ?
- Does the rectangle width issue happens when menu is active , or in any specific state , Try to change the menu with uniform spacing and then check.
- In design view the rectangle is set to 100% browser width ?
With publishing :
- Please try to rename the image file and then relink
- If it happens with other images as well , see if all the image names includes strange characters or spaces.
- Try again to publish
With e-mail from BC :
- Under preferences , please check the country selected.
- If you have previously created partner account in BC and selected country and language then it would follow that, please check that.

Blackberry Playbook Help Needed
I am restarting a PlayBook. I get past the wifi login screen successfully. I cannot get past the BlackBerry id screen.
When I type my password, it tells me this:
Network / Connection Error. Please check your connection settings and try again.
(and yes.. my id valid and I do have my password)
Any input would be appreciated.Are you sure that you are entering the correct wifi settings. Try setting up your playbook on another wifi.

hi, i have a problem that i have bought blackberry 8520.i want to switch my contacts from my old mobile samsung star s5230 to blackberry 8520.i have shifted my contacts from samsung to my laptop but i am unable to transfer from laptop to blackberry.i have tried to send some contacts to blackberry from laptop but blackberry doesnot show it.please let me know how can i do it.i have also downloaded blackberry desktop software but i dont know how to shift contacts from laptop to blackberry.

After playing with it for a while at my local Fry's store where they put 5DMII, 5DMIII and 6D next to each other, using the same 24-105L lens, I decided to get the 6D and pocket the different for lens later.
I'm upgrading from the 30D. So I think you'll love it. It's a great camera. I have used 5DMII extensively before (borrowing from a close friend).
Funny thing is at first I don't really care about the GPS and Wifi much. I thought they're just marketing-gimmick. But once you have it, it is actually really fun and helpful. For example, I can place the 6D on a long "monopod", then use the app on the phone to control the camera to get some unique perspective on some scenes. It's fun and great. GPS is also nice for travel guy like me.

Help needed! I hava made bootable RAID with two S-ATAII 250Gb HDD and its not working! Every now and then at bootup I get a message RAID -> DEGRADED... Must be seventh time! Rebuild takes its own time!
What am I doing wrong!

P.S. I wery SORRY with my poor language!I'm going to blame the nVRAID because I've seen issues with it in the past. If your motherboard has another non-nVidia RAID solution, use that instead. Using the nVidia SATA ports as BASE or JBOD is fine and dandy but RAIDing always had issues. It's not even a driver issue I think it's just instability. Latest drivers and even boxed drivers never helped. Granted, some will report success with their rig. But on a professional level I've seen nForce issues on different motherboards and different hard drives that had RAID disaster stories.
Good luck and if you don't have another RAID solution, my suggestion would be to buy a dedicated RAID controller card.

Help needed on installation of Oracle 9i on Sun Solaris 8

Help needed on installation of Oracle 9i EE on Sun Solaris 8. The problem I met was: we followed the installation guide from the documentation. And we selected the choice "install software only". After it was done successfully, we run Database Configuration Assistant utility to create a database instance. But finally it always tried to create the instance at the root directory ( / ) which doesn't have enough space and then failed. The case was that we have set the enviroment parameters: $ORACLE_BASE = /export/mydata, $ORACLE_HOME = /export/apps/oracle9i. That means it should be installed at /export/mydata, but it didn't. Any help or advice are welcome. Thanks.
SimonI have downloaded Oracle 11G R2 version from Windows and extracted it in Windows and copied it into DVD after extraction in two folders. Now I am mounting that DVD in Solaris 10 installed in my VMware . I made a new directory named as 'installation ' under /export/home/oracle and copied the folders from DVD to 'installation' folder. Now I am entering installation folder and try to do ./runInstaller as 'oracle ' user and getting the error mentioned before.
