Now available - Sun ONE AppServer 7, Plugin for JBuilder 8

I am pleased to announce that Sun ONE Application Server 7, Plugin for JBuilder 8 is now available for public download. This technology integrates JBuilder 8 with the Sun ONE Application Server runtime environment to provide a fully-automated development experience. The Plugin enables J2EE developers to take full advantage of productivity enhancements provided by JBuilder. The Plugin is a technology provided by Sun for developer convenience. Sun will provide limited support on this technology.
The User Guide included in the download describes the capabilities and steps to use the Plugin for JBuilder 8. To use, uncompress the JAR file into the JBuilder 8 root install directory.
Note: Fee-based, guaranteed, technical support for the JBuilder Plugin is provided by Developer Technical Support. For community support, please visit Sun Software Forum on AppServer IDE.
You can download a copy from:
http://wwws.sun.com/software/download/products/3ed3e01f.html

I am running JBuilder 9 Enterprise. Would you be able to give the code for this plugin so that I could configure it for 9, then give it back for the community use? Or could you make the neccessary changes for 9 and release the plugin?

One Finger Zoom Plugin For Web & Photo Browser - Multitouch Alternative?
one finger multittouch for 5800xm and n97 very simple to implement zoom/rotate control by doubletapping you set a control point and when you drag the control takes efect need just one hand to controll (multitouch needs two hands to control - you have to hold the device with other hand
develope it now and upload it to Ovi store, make it free or donationware

You can listen to whomever you wish.
But here's why I'm telling you what I am.
I've been doing this type of thing with still images from a Nikon D200 and now D300 and intercutting them to a video shot with a HVX200, and now HPX170 and HMC150 for more than three years.
FCP does not have the controls to achieve a professional result.
More than that, its ease in/out controls jump the image and provide sparse control over the areas of interest and the zoom/pans, among other things.
I love Noise Industries products. I've tested this one. It's better than some.
But the interface isn't conducive to a good workflow, and you need to render to see results.
I respect David's opinions on just about everything.
But I have tried just all of them - FCP, AE, Motion, Still Life, Moving Picture, PhotoToMovie, Lyric Media's product, and this one from Niclas's NI collection, etc.
FotoMagico is inexpensive and produces far better results than anything I've seen. And it is so much easier and intuitive to use.
And I always watch Boise State football.

  • Can one write a plugin for flash player

I am new to flash development, I was wondering if there was any way one could extend flash player using plugins. If one can, then are there any resources where I can start looking at. Ndippy,
Folks on here are pretty good about helping out others who
are trying to learn actionscript, or have trouble with
understanding concepts. They are less likely to volunteer to do an
entire project for you. I'd suggest trying to do it yourself, and
asking specific questions about the process. Both of your posts are
way to general to allow anyone to give advice that would be
worthwhile. You have said that you have 60 .swfs in your first
post. However, in your second, you said they were 60 quicktime
files. There are very different processes for each option there.
Are you planning to display 20 at once, or let people scroll
through them? What size are your clips and what size are you
    developing for?
Start small, like just trying to load one movie clip
randomly, and then work your way up. Experiment with changing the
positions, sizes, etc. When you run into trouble, ask a specific
question about what you are trying to do, and people will be happy
    to help.

  • How to change the jdk version of the sun one appserver 8.1

    hi
    i have installed appserver8.1 with a jdk 1.5 .
i am facing some problem with the parsers (my application needs to use a crimson parsers which is not supported by jdk1.5 i guess)
so i am trying to change the jdk version by changing the asenv.conf file
but the appservers wont start up if i do so.
    help !! please

This is strange. Setting AS_JAVA to the install location of your jdk instance should work. I have done it many times.
What kind of errors are you getting in the server log file?

  • Sun One application server connection problem for Oracle DB

On our project in live environments we have six Sun One application servers that have been configured to connect to RAC Oracle database using OCI drivers. ( JDBC thick driver)
Sun one application server : Version 7.0.0
    Oracle Database : Version 9.2.0.4.0
Following are two scenarios where Sun one server receives an error while attempting to perform any DML operations onto the database e.g. when you will try to send a insert/update msg through sun One.
Case 1: - If the Oracle package/procedure/function is compiled using Alter package/function/procedure.... command
    problem
Any attempt to perform a DML operation using RMI calls though Sun one application server with already established oracle connection will fail.
Sun One application server needs to be bounced to get an up-to-date state of the package.
Case 2: If the Oracle package/procedure/function is compiled using Create or Replace package/function/procedure.... command
    problem
First attempt to perform any DML operation using RMI calls though Sun one application server with already established oracle connection will always fail. Any subsequent attempts will be successful.
We are using JDBC OCI think drivers. I tried flushing Shared pool at the Oracle side but it didn't help. For some reason Sun One seems to Cache the session information for already establised connections with Oracle database. As its live system we don't want any outage. i.e we know bouncing oracle app server will solve the problem.
So just wondering is there way/workaround to make aware the already estlised connection from sun one appserver to Oracle DB about changed packages/proceduress in the DB?
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
    txns
    Ravi

Forgot one thing: when I use remote debugging , it works.

    Hi,
I have just downloaded the Windows copy. It looks like it now allows remote administration, which is cool. However, I found out that it does not install itself as a Windows service! Is it possible to install it as a Windows Service?
BTW, I think 'Sun ONE AppServer 8' sounds better that 'Java System Application Server 8' :P
    Sincerely,

  • How do I install Sun ONE ASTAware SD w/o javaw.exe error?

I have been trying to execute the Sun ONE Starter Kit successfully for a month now. I purchased the Starter Kit on CD-ROMs. I run Windows 2000, SP2 with all critical and recommended repairs, on a Pentium 4 board installed in a custom computer--that is, with the best of all hardware components. Every time I install ASTAware SearchDisc and then try to execute the search function, I receive the following error message, "javaw.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program." I have tried every workaround offered in the forum and unfortunately none work. Would you kindly provide ASAP a step-by-step guide on how to resolve the error? Please leave nothing to the imagination, such as, when you state that the CLASSPATH must be set, please explain where the environmental variable must be set and how to set it (please refer to http://forum.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=78&thread=8700; Topic: CD 1, Search Engine Installation Problem.
Operation of the ASTAware SearchDisc is especially important to me. I have submitted an invited prospectus for a business executive's book on component-based software engineering and software reuse. I intend to use Sun One to present simple examples of how software component teams work and, thus, achieve higher returns-on-investment than most current techniques. Yet, the state of Sun ONE's search engine is the very reason business executives are reluctant to adopt new technologies. When they see too many workarounds for an obvious defect in an application, business executives are reticient to spend great sums of money to transition to component-based technologies and software reuse.
Again, please help as soon as possible. Thanks.

thanks for that, according to this it should be run like
    /path/to/build.sh build single netinstall
    from inside the chroot
posting this for my own reference and in case it helps others, will mark as solved
    thanks again for your help

  • Trouble with mapping CMR field using Sun One Studio

I am having trouble adding a cmr between 2 entity beans. It is a simple one to one relationship, navigatable in only one direction. In the database I have a foreign key defined between the two tables that store the data for the beans.
I add the relation by selecting the 2 beans and define it as one directional, one to one , with the name "bb". I then map the relationship field via the properties/As Sun One tab. I use the foreign key defined in the database. All seems to be well.
Using Sun One AppServer 7 and Studio 4
Upon deploying the application I receive:
CMP Mapping Error in bean Sites:: Warning: The field bb is not mapped.
Set the column mapping for the field.

The CMR/CMP mappings is very instable.
Sunone Studio 5 has a lot of bugs when mapping CMP/CMR but i never saw this one, try to upgrade.
Please vote for this bug. It's killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sun One 7 2004Q2 restart on breakpoint in debug

    Hi,
I have a very annoying problem.
I took over a project from another team of another company. I have to migrate the web application (using Struts, J2EE, EJB 2.0, ...) from Sun One to JBoss.
For this, a specific profile is searched, and awaiting this profile, i have to get to know the project, structure and code (i don't know any EJB 2.0, i know Hibernate and Spring and like that a lot more than EJB).
Now i'm working a month and a half already on this project, reading documentation, adding documentation, inspecting the code, and developing small changes and bugfixes.
Every time i wanted to perform a remote application debug from within Eclipse to the Sun One AS, things fail.
I start Sun One in debug mode, i check the address port, i connect to that port from Eclipse in debug mode (remote application debug), but when the application reaches the breakpoint, the Sun One AS just restarts, and the application gives a page not found.
First i thought it was a memory problem (i read logs with OutOfMemory and parallel GC errors, but i can't find the logs anymore), and i finally got a computer with 2GB RAM (we work on VPC's). But that didn't solve the problem either.
I removed the -Xmx option for maximum heap size, but that didn't do any good either.
Does anyone know how i can perform debugging from within Eclipse to the Sun One AS without problems?
    Thanks very much in advance.

And i found an error log in the /config directory of the used server instance:

  • Problems binding to Sun One Directory - LDAP_UNAVAILABLE

    Hello there
We got a magic situation here. Customer has Sun One Directory. We call ldap_simple_bind_s and it returns LDAP_UNAVAILABLE.
    Here is the server log:
    bash-2.05$ grep conn=17708 access.log

As you can see, instead of binding damn server performs 3 empty searches! Any ideas? We are sure this Sun One Server works ok for other purposes...

Bingo, It worked. Yup, I'm using SODS 5.2, I have copied all .dll files from nsbasesystem.zip to "C:\Windows\System32".
but now the problem is -
Sun One Directory server service is running
    but
Sun ONE Administration server process is not running
I have tried to start it manually but it didn't worked. It initiates the starting of process and then suddenly shows error message that
"The Sun ONE Administration server 5.2 service on local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."

  • Babel Language Packs R0.13.0 are now available!

Babel Language Packs R0.13.0 for Mars, Luna, and Kepler release trains are now available! Translations in all languages for all projects in Babel up to 2015/08/04 are included in R0.13.0.
    http://download.eclipse.org/technology/babel/babel_language_packs/R0.13.0/
We tested the Babel Language Packs in multiple languages on different operating system platforms. Translation completeness for each language may vary. All translated strings are displaying okay. No corrupted characters.
Thanks to all the Babel translators for the contributions! Enjoy the language packs!

People complained when Adobe added the arrows to the mouse cursors.
Now people complain when the cursor is returned to a Text insertion bar, without the arrow.
Clearly not every customer agrees on how cursors should work, nor apparently everyone in Adobe either.
I have this really great idea...  Maybe Adobe could make mouse cursors with arrows an option you can select.  I for one would choose the cursors with arrows, as Niall above would also, I suspect.
