Now Contact and iCal

I'm using Now Contact a CRM for the Mac that is no longer supported by the company and I'm having difficulty synching the Now Contact database to the iCal calendar. I can't seem to select the calendar it's greyed out. I think I need to create a calendar file? If anyone is familiar with Now Contact and synching calendars, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks.

  • I just purchased a new iMac, and I want to sync my contacts and iCal from my older Macbook Pro.  What is the easiest way to do this?

I'm not sure how to sync contacts and iCal between my older Macbook Pro and my new iMac.  I've searched on Google for a few explanations, but they seem fairly complicated.  Are there any easy ways to make this happen?

Is this a  one time sync or do you want to keep them synced all the time?
If it's a one time sync you want to use Setup Assistant to migrate your data from the old machine to the new one. You can use the Lion Setup Assistant tips for help.
If you want to always keep them synced you have several alternatives. First is you can wait for iCloud which will be released this Fall according to Apple. You can find information about iCloud at www.apple.com/icloud. Several years ago I began using a tool called Synctogether which syncs Bookmarks, Calendars, Contacts, Widgets, Dock Items, Mail Accounts and Mail Signatures. You just check what you want synced, for example I do Bookmarks, Calendars and Contacts. This app sells for about $49 I think, however if I were you I'd wait for iCloud which will give you 5GB (which is a LOT) for free.

  • How do you sync Yahoo contacts and iCal calendar to the Touch

Help results say "If you have an iPod, iPod nano, or iPod mini, you can sync it with Address Book contacts and iCal information on your computer" but we have the Touch. It also says "When the iPod icon appears in iTunes, select it and then click the Contacts tab", but no Contacts tab appears when I select the iPod on the left in iTunes.

The tab you're looking for is called "Info". You should see it just after "Photos".

  • TS4062 we have 2 different iphones. When we are synching, the contacts and ical interfere and we end up by having all our contacts and ical info mixed together.

we have 2 different iphones 4 and iphone 4s. Why when we are synching, the contacts and ical interfere and we end up by having all our contacts and ical info mixed together?

Well are you syncing them with the same acount?  Are you syncing them to the same source?  If you are both syncing the iCal on the same computer then you are going to end up sharing all the entries.  You need two differnt AppleId's and user ID on the comuter you are syncing to if you want everything to stay seperate.

  • Cannot access the iCloud mail for some reason I don´t know. Worked perfect until Nov 28th, but a message with "incorrect ID/password" popped up. Contacts and iCal is accessible. Have tried from iPad, Mac, iPhone and PC. Any recommendations?

Reset your password. Be sure your new one meets the requirements for length (8) and characters (at least one upper case and one number).

  • NOW Contact and Mavericks

Anybody figured-out if a fix is possible so we can use NOW Contact with Mavericks.
Won't load and I don't know why. I've kept 10.8.5 on another drive just so I can access
NOW Contact. Importing NOW Contact into Address Book is an incomplete process.
In addition, it's still a superior Contact program.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks!
    Jeff

Although it is possible to export most data from Now Contact and into another program like Apple Contacts or SoHo, I found that my custom notes field did not transfer over.  And that's where all of my important data resides from the past fifteen years.
I have no solution.  Just adding to the dismay.
It's interesting that a fifteen year-old application did it better then AND now than any other.  Reminds me of Fullwrite Professional back in the eighties.  No word processor has ever equaled it then or since.
    Sigh.

  • Duplicate entries in Contacts and iCal

I have Lion on my iMac and IOS 5 on my i Phone 4S. Ever since I set up iCloud, everything in Contacts and on iCal is entered twice. Do I have to do anything with iTunes to stop this? What else if anything do I need to do to stop this?

Actually, we never signed up for iCloud on the 3G iPhone. That said, I followed someone's suggestion in another post on deleted contacts. I clicked the little arrow on a recent number of a friend that had called and then selected 'Add to Existing Contact.' Somehow, with that action, all my contacts reappeared immediately. What an entirely strange glitch.
Still not sure what to do with the duplicate iCal entries but will check out the iCloud settings on the iPhone 4 to see whether that fixes the problem.

  • IOS5 and iCloud have duplicated my contacts and iCal entries.  How to I fix this / only use one of them?, iOS5 and iCloud have duplicated my contacts and iCal entries.  How to I fix this / only use one of them?

Since loading iOS5 and starting to sync with iCloud, I'm getting multiple contacts in my Macbook as well as on my phone. How do I get rid of one or the other? The best soultion would be to fix the error without having to delete all of the duplicates manually.  This also happens with my events and reminders in iCal.

I had the same problem and many contacts amongst my 330 differant people were duplicated up to 3 times. What seemed to have happened is any one who was in your main addrees book and also in a list would be duplicated when icloud syncs.
I solved it by switching off icloud on the phone. deleting all entries in my mac address book. Checking the address book was totally empty. Then manualy deleting all the duplicates on the phone. Once I was happy everything on the phone was correct I Then turning cloud back on the phone. thats synched back all entries to the mac and no problem since.
Now when i amend/delet/add a contact it syncs acros  both devices within minutes.

  • I have a new hard drive, can I pull my contacts and ical from my iphone?

I have a new hard drive and I would like to pull my ical and contacts from my iphone to replace what I lost but when I sync my phone it doesn't bring the data onto my computer and if I choose sync calendar and contacts it seems to want to erase the phone and replace with the blank computer data. Any ideas?

If you are running OSX Lion and iOS 5, you can sync via iCloud.
What versions of OSX and iOS are you running?

  • New iMac, now contacts and cals won't sync to iPod Touch

After migrating from a G4/Tiger to an iMac/Snow Leopard on Friday, I have experienced many keychain and permissions-related problems. I have been able to solve all except one. It involves iTunes not syncing Info (contacts, cals, etc). I have tried everything under the sun and still cannot make it work. I have compiled a detailed account of the problem with screen shots here:
    http://bit.ly/7YmE4S
If anyone has ideas, please post. I have not been able to arrange a support call with apple yet because it keeps getting rejected and I am told to try again later.

I set up a new standard user to see if iSync problem was solved and it was. Remember, I could not open iSync AT ALL in my current user account. I erased my iPod and synced it with the new user and it worked. At that point, I got fully committed to transferring my files over to the new user instead of piddling with more solutions that might or might not work for this and a variety of other issues that came up during migration. (Nothing against your suggestion which I am sure is a very good one...I am just tired of jumping through hoops with no results at this point and thought a fresh start was in order.)
Anyway, all seems well now. The new user account seems to have cleared everything up except for the printing, but that is due to apple dropping appletalk support, so I will have to tackle that in a different way. Transferring my files to a new user was not as laborious as I thought because most apps have export/import. I am still looking for a way to change permission to large batches of files/folders that are nested. "Apply to enclosed items" does not do the trick.
    Thanks again for the assistance.

  • Lost my contacts and ical is empty

Hi, I have problem with my calendar and contacts evan bookmarks. I can not sync them to iphone. I would like to but It does not. When I plug iphone to macbook its says this: ''itunes cannot sync iphone because syncing has been disabled. Do you want to enabled syncing?''I agree that I want to sync. after that it says: ''syncing cannot be enabled on this computer''.
Photos and music is ok it sync. Also I authorize computer. Can you help me someone please?
    Sorry for my english.

The message is coming from the iSync application on your Mac.
Open iSync from the applications folder on the Macintosh.
Go to the iSync menu and select Preferences.
Make sure Enable Syncing is checked.
You can also reset the sync history by clicking the button at the bottom of the preferences screen.
If you still cannot enable syncing you will need to contact AppleCare support to troubleshoot your Mac OS.

  • Can I sync my iPhone calendar with exchange server AND ical on my mac ?

I have been happily using my iPhone synced with my Macbook over usb via iTunes.
I have contacts and iCal syncing. I have a number of 'calendars' set up in iCal which allow me to view separate aspects of home and work but they all exist within iCal. iPhone just treats these as colour coded appointments (different colour for each ical calendar)
I really like this set up.
However, I just changed jobs to a firm where they have a hosted outlook exchange set up and I need to use the exchange calendar for work appointments and showing my availability.
I have managed to setup my iPhone to work with the Exchange server for email as well as in apple Mail on my mac. This has all worked fine. However, I hesitated when iPhone asked if i wanted to sync my contacts and calendar. I said no as I was unsure if my private calendar/contacts would be uploaded to the public work area.
In fact it seems that this is the least of my worries:
As I have read on apple support for iPhone:
"Note that after configuring an Exchange ActiveSync account, all existing contact and calendar information on the iPhone or iPod touch is overwritten. Additionally, iTunes no longer syncs contacts and calendars with your desktop computer. You can still sync your iPhone or iPod touch wirelessly with MobileMe services."
So I am really pleased that I didn't let it sync those and wipe out my personal data if that is really true.
But now I am unsure how best to enable myself to view and update the work calendar on exchange.
Also it would be nice to see work contacts on my iPhone.
    Contacts
    - although i have said no to sync contacts with Exchange in fact it looks like I can get contacts ok - when i send email from the Exchange account on the phone , it searches Exchange contacts on the server as i type in the TO box.
    - also in Contacts on the iPhone I have a new group that has been created with the name of my Exchange account. The group appears to be blank when you go into it on the phone, but you can type in the search box and get contact details from the server just fine.
This seems workable for now for my purposes, although updating contacts is not going to be possible that way.
I'd like more info on that if poss but more importantly..
    Calendar
    - Unlike Contacts, no Calendar has been auto created for Exchange
    - Unlike contacts, I can't see how I can view or search or create an appointment in my Exchange calendar on the iPhone
What is the best solution to this problem - I presume lots of people face the same dilemma. My initial research suggests that there are multiple ways round this but all of them look like workarounds with various disavantages.
    Questions are
    - Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
    - Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
    - What is the best work around for this?
At the moment I am seriously considering getting a separate iPhone for work and have that sync with Exchange fully although that seems a bit drastic and does not solve the problem of seeing work and home appointments on the same calendar.

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

  • Why did my contacts and calendar disappear?

After being away for several days, I logged on to find Address Book contacts and iCal calendar empty.  They're empty when I use the icons.  When I access through Outlook bar, entries appear, but it looks like Apple entries, not Microsoft entries.

Are you using iCloud? If so, did you somehow log into www.icloud.com and accidently delete Contacts and/or Calendar entries? Or did you uncheck iCloud as a source for Contacts and Calendars in those applications? Maybe only 'On My Mac' is selected in those apps and that is empty for Contacts and Calendars.

  • Will iPhone work with Now Contact?

I am thinking of buying an iPhone. Will it work with Now Contact? How will i sync? Currently using MissingSync. I have 1400 contacts in my Palm Treo 680 and I rely on it. Any thoughts or experiences? The mapping feature of the iPhone is intriguing as I travel 7 states.

You're looking at this backward. The real questions are:
    • will Now Contact and Now Up-to-Date work with the Sync Services framework?
    • will the soon to be released NightHawk replacement program work with this framework?
The answer to the first question is no, while the answer to the second is yes. Users of version 5 of NUTD or Contact will be able to update to NightHawk for $ 69.95 directly through Now Software.
You will be able to synchronize using the existing Mac OS X 10.4 or later framework using iTunes via USB, or cross-grade from the Missing Sync for Palm OS to the soon to be released Missing Sync for iPhone, which includes a migration assistant specifically designed to move contact, event and task data from a Palm device to the iPhone, and extends support for call logging, SMS transfers and the synchronization of notes.
