Now for something completely different.... status of iPhone 6+ 128GB Space Grey pre-order?

Yes, just like everyone else asking the same question on this form, I placed a pre-order on 9/12 and received my emailed order confirmation from VZW at 2:26 pacific time.  Now I get NO information from the Order Status page - only "We received your order and it is in process." and "Shipping Date: Not available at this time."  ... both of which tell me nothing.
So here we are on 9/16 more than four days after my pre-order was placed and that's the best Verizon Wireless could do?  I realize they are handling millions of orders, but I find it hard to believe that they really haven't worked through the first 2 1/2 hours of orders yet .... after four days?
PS - Verizon Wireless Customer service - don't bother sending me a link to the Order Status page that I am already checking far too often.

    While I normally look down my nose at video training, I'm willing to grudgingly acknowledge that it has its strengths. Step-by-step written tutorials are awesome for getting from A to B, but they're not too good at the arm-waving stuff, which videos excel at.

    lecture is an Element, toString() is not implemented, so print correctly displays some fuzzy pointer information, nothing more...

    Have you tried re-building the artwork?
    Try unchecking "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod.
    Then check "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod again.
    This should resync the album artwork to the iPod.
    If this does not work, you might need to restore the iPod and reload the songs in order to correct this error.

    I want to buy an unlocked 128GB iPhone 6GB in Space Grey. I've spoken to Apple, and they suggested I reserve one at my local Apple Store (Princes Street, Edinburgh) via the following link:

    I was told to try shortly after midnight, as this is when the stock levels are updated on their system. However, whenever I try to reserve a phone I'm told the one I'm after is unavailable (there are always gold ones available, though), and, perhaps more to the point, that there are none available anywhere in the UK.
    Are there shortages of the silver and space grey 128GB iPhone 6 Plus?

    I checked that link earlier today and every Apple Store in the UK had the same stock indication: every iPhone 6 Plus was in stock, apart from the silver 128GB and the grey 128GB!
    No idea how Apple's manufacturing, assembling and delivery systems work, but it does seem weird that they can make the grey case for a 64GB grey 6 Plus and the electronics for a 128GB gold 6 plus, but they can't put the two together. If I was a millionaire I'd just buy two phones and get someone two put together the phone I want from the parts!!

    I've had a lot of issues getting a reliable status out of Verizon.  See the previous posts here and here.  Needless to say, I'm fed up.  Finally, after being told that my phone would definitely arrive on 9/19, my card was actually charged on 9/17.  That seemed promising.  The order status updated to the typical "Processing, check back tomorrow" message.  The order actually appeared when I logged into my Verizon account for the first time.  So I waited all day and when I woke up on 9/18...the status did actually change.  The status changed to "Ship by 10/7".  I about lost it.
    I got Verizon on the phone, the first time via the Internet Orders phone number.  The guy basically told me that they didn't have a tracking number and that their system had a lot of issues and due to the overwhelming demand they had to delay some of the orders.  I tried to get more info and see if there was any chance I would get my order 9/19, and was told "No, that's just the way it is".  So I tried calling 611, talked to another CSR.  They told me pretty much the same thing and that I would be stuck waiting.  I was livid.  But at that point, I was done.  Done calling, done posting, I just resigned myself to the fact I would be waiting weeks to get my order and that I would be switching my carrier at some point due to the total lack of knowledgeable customer service.
    I checked the status again on a whim, around 6pm EST.  It actually changed again...this time the "Ship by 10/7" date went away, and it changed to "Shipped", with a UPS tracking number.  The tracking number was actually a link that pointed to FedEx (seriously, they can't get anything right).  I looked up the number on UPS's site and found out it was shipping from Memphis, TN via UPS Next Day Air Saver, and it listed my correct delivery city (I was hesitant to believe it, because I've been given a FedEx number before by a CSR that was bogus and shipping to another state).  The package says it will be delivered 9/19 by 3pm, and has moved from Memphis, TN to Louisville, KY.
    I'm hopeful I'll actually get my phone tomorrow, and not a gift-wrapped pile of...something...in a Verizon box.  I wouldn't put it past Verizon to find a way to screw this up still, but this is the most promising things have looked thus far.  To all those checking the order status every day for the next couple weeks...the best advice I have is just don't believe it.  At all.  I've had dates showing 9/19, 10/14, 10/7.  I had CSR's guarantee delivery on a date, and others telling me I'd be waiting weeks and there was nothing they could do.  I've had a response via Twitter saying I would definitely receive my order on 9/19 and a DM on this forum telling me the Twitter user was wrong.  I had the date change after the card was charged.  I've had a fake order number sent to me from an actual Verizon number via a text just to get me off the phone.  I've been given a FedEx tracking number for someone else's order to get me off the phone.  I've had the absolute worst customer service experience I've ever had in my life.  Before this, I thought Verizon was the best carrier out there, and this destroyed all confidence that anyone working there in customer service has a clue about what's going on behind the scenes.
    So yes...Verizon..."I understand how exciting this can be."  Just not in a way that reflects positively on you.

I know it's exciting to be waiting for this phone and I'm sure you want to know exactly when to expect it. I must apologize because the email date that you received in that confirmation is incorrect and this was due to some system issues we were having at the time these orders were placed. I am seeing the correct delivery date for your order is 10/7, and I'm so sorry for the confusion and delay. -Sarah"
    Upon replying to @saraho_vzw and asking why the response from @vzwsupport conflicted with her response:"If I received both of those dates I'd be confused too! 10/7 is the correct date. I'm fortunate enough to work right alongside ^VC and she was not aware of the issues going on with our system at the time the order was placed. I've made her aware of this so others are not misinformed.  -Sarah"
    So if the last message is correct, I'm not going to have my phone until 10/7, and Verizon's entire checkout process and confirmation emails completely misrepresented the actual date I will receive my phone.  I've asked them to re-mediate the issue but I'm not confident they will meet their original agreed upon delivery dates whatsoever.  This is absolutely horrible customer service.  Advertising a deliver by date of 9/19 prevented me from going elsewhere to get my order fulfilled.  And no...it's not 'exciting to be waiting for this phone'.  It's frustrating.  We had an agreement when I placed the order and Verizon is failing to meet the agreed upon terms without any explanation other than 'issues' in their system, and claiming they have no control to escalate the order and correct the ship date.  I'm done.

You may not be able to see a change from Processing until it officially ships, then you'll see the tracking number. Today I put some money to the card, pushed the "pre-order" button on the Random Access Memories album and... Nothing! It writes that I have already done it. But I didn't spend any money. And I can't find it in the folder with stuff bought before. Sorry for my russian english. Help me!

    I want to make some custom validations on completing of the Quality notification. These changes have to be done for some specific notification types (eg: Q2/F2).
    The status set on 'Complete' is NOCO.
    Can anyone please let me know some BAdI or user exit where in I can code to make the custom validations?

    But, this happens when a task is completed and when entire QN is completed.
    Can you please me how to identify the difference in the code.
    In both the cases, only T_VIQMSM  table comes populated. Rest all the initial.

  • Compressor 3.0.5 Encoding something completely different

    I have used my Compressor 3.0.5 for many years without any issues.
    Recently I have had a nightmare of a project which involved corrupted mini-dv footage and when I encode the timeline and bring the M2V's into DVD studio Pro, both the video and audio AC3 files are something that is not on the timeline. It looks like the software choose to encode a random clip in my FCP browser instead of encoding what is on the timeline.
    So far I have tried deleting the  FCP, Compressor & DVDSP .plist's from Library/Preferences and have repaired permissions. One of which pertains at an ARDAgent app, will not be repaired but not sure if this has anything to do with anything.
    Any help is surely and desperately appreciated. My client has been waiting a long time for their DVDs.

    It sounds like you used the Send to Compressor workflow. If you did, try exporting a QuickTime movie, current settings. Then bring that into Compressor to make your files for DVD SP.

    It's a Google service and you know how they love to change the menus...
    Or -- was it an iGoogle calendar ''widget''? That could be affected by the planned (imminent?) shutdown of iGoogle. Not sure how to address that.
    Sometimes you can revert Google UI changes by clearing all your Google cookies. If you want to try that, finishing anything you're working on, then, while still on a google.com page, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    In the dialog that opens, you can remove Google's cookies individually.
    Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Any difference in the menu?

  • I use garageband with ipad2 which I love, except it keeps changing my drum patterns that I've recorded to something completely different. How do I stop garageband from constantly 'fixing' my rhythms?

    I love using garageband on ipad2, but it won't let me enter my own drum rhythm at all.  I've tried using the ipad kit directly with my fingers and using my electric kit through a midi to usb cable. I've even tried changing the beats individually via the edit option.  But it still changes my perfectly good and unique rhythm into its own format.  I don't know it this is supposed to help amateur players, but it's very frustrating for someone who has played for over 20 years!  Also, is it any better on a mac? I might consider reinvesting my money. Can anyone help at all, because it's driving me crackers. 

    When you have the drums up on your screen look in the upper right corner for the icon that looks an equalizer control.  Click that and look for the Quantization option.  Click it and select none.  Quantization tries to correct what it sees as off rhythm beats.  Every time I tried to tap out a blues beat with a shuffle feel it "corrected" it to a straight beat after recording.  Turned it off and all is well.

    A simple search would have revealed that you are not comparing the same thing.
    The US prices quoted are for a device subsidized with a 2yr contract from a carrier.
    The price in China that you've quoted is most likely for outright purchase of the device without a carrier subsidy.
    Apple has yet to announce non-subsidized pricing for the US.
