Now on my second new Centro in 1 week: Same problems as first!!! At wits end...

What is the problem with this phone? Did you a'lls entire shipment of Centro's to the Cincinnati area come from a corrupted batch?
Problem one: Random resets and accompanying crackling noise coming from speaker
Problem two: Backlight will come on without touching the phone and will not go off unless I turn it off manually
Problem three: Internet stops working. I click on web icon and the sceens goes blank except for a message that says "Please Wait" but nothing ever happens.
Problem four:When  I try to answer calls sometimes the phone will just hang up randomly as soon as I touch the answer call icon.
Problem Five: Battery will not charge to 100%
All these problems happened with my first phone. And all of them get resolved when I do a soft reset......for about 6 to 8 hours. Then all the problems come right back. I took the first phone in and got it exchanged. Less then 48 hours after bringing home the second unit all the same problems are back. I got the replacement phone from a different Verizon store even. I am not hard on the phone or doing anything unusual. I am runnig only one app that I downloaded and I never even got it on the first phone before all the problems.
What's the deal? I'm about ready to take it back and go with another device from a different mfgr. Is there any way to fix these issues? I feel it pointless to try a third phone. I'm very frustrated as I'm an airline pilot and I do not have time to deal with this issue. I need a phone that works!!!

Hello!
Please hard reset the phone and test it for a day to see if replication occurs.  Pretty certain you just need to hard reset and rename you backup folder before your next sync to resolve this issue.

  • Upon activating my Siri button, I get an unbearable screeching sound.  I already turned in my old ipad under warranty for a new one because of this same problem.  Now the newest one is doing the same thing.  Anyone else out there experiencing this?

I'm wondering whether or not to get yet another warranty exchange for my ipad 3 over this horrible screeching sound associated with the home button.  I was told at the Apple Store by the technician that he had never heard of this problem before and they gave me a new one.  Now a few weeks later the new one is doing the same thing.  Anyone else having this problem?

Try going to Settings > General > Siri and turn off Siri.  Now try to activate Siri with the home button and you should get the voice command system (similar to Siri).  Does it screech?
Next, go back and turn on Siri.  Then back up your iPad to iTunes or iCloud.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.  Does Siri still screech?
Lastly, Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings.  When the Set up screens show up, choose 'Set up as new..." and skip everything you want to.  Test Siri again and see if it screeches.
If it does not screech when set up as new, then you may have something corrupt going on in your backup.  You can restore form your backup and see if the issue returns.  If it does, then go back and set it up as new again and maually set up your accounts and apps again.
If the issue continues even when set up as new, go back to the Apple Store.

  • Running 3.6.23 on Ubuntu 10.10. worked fine on Nationwide's site last week. Now they have a new site and there are many problems. Can I make the browser tell their site its on windows not linux?

changes since new site running All of which worked fine before:
clicking back button now asks if I really want to leave the current page and logs me out.
They report my browser is not supported.
Times out even though I am actively using the site.
When I try to send a secure message it wipes out what I am still typing and says it is not the right sort of thing to put in a message.

    Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

    Hi NWL1,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone won't update and is stuck. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • Brand new ipod touch 5th gen 64gb problems with first power on

I have just received a brand new ipod touch 5th gen 64 gb from amazon. After reading the instructions i tried to power it on but nothing happened.
It was suggested on here to try the recovery start but again, nothing happened.
I then plugged the device in to a wall socket charger to see if the battery is flat, but the apple logo comes on for about 15 seconds then goes off again. If I hold down the home button while the apple logo is off, after a while the ipod goes into recovery start up, but as soon as i unplug it from the wall socket adaptor it turns off.
It will not do anything plugged into the usb soccket of my laptop.
Any ideas or will I have to return this to amazon?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. You can go to an Apple store even if yo purchased it from Amazon

  • Well a month later, I called back sent me to apple location..gave me new phone ..I have same problem again phone 5 dimming

MY first iPhone5 going dim, brand new out of the box second day after release. Apple did factory restore for me and see if that helped me. Still
happening so they set me up with appointment for new iphone5 at apple outlet. Went home and week later started dimming on its own again, apple has a problem that they need to address and fix in their system correctly

What is the exact wording of the error message? It may be that there is a problem with your computer and is causing the problem, not a problem with the iPod.

  • HT204053 i use one apple id for icloud and one for itunes  and now it wont let me since i reset my phone now  i up graded to iphone 4s still the same problem

please help me fix this problem I have one id  for icloud and one for itunes that i share with my husband

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Kernel Panic Log, New logic board, new ram....same problem.

I have had continuous problems with my computer. First Apple said it was the Ram...replaced...same thing still happening. So they said oh, must be the logic board...replaced...still happening. Glad I have apple care or i might be more angry. ha.
Basically not sure what is going on.. i have tried to figure out if its a software issue. But it happens at different times. It did seem related to internet use. But turned all that off and worked in photoshop and it happened anyway.
Love the gray screen with all the languages telling me my computer is whack and wants to restart, they must know how i like to brush up on my foreign languages...but i feel that i have learned all i can at this point.
I am copy and pasting my panic log, so anyone who might understand what it is saying. Please shed some light on what i can try to do now.
I use airport to connect to internet. FYI.

Cheers - I've run Rember a few times and it hasn't come up with any errors, but I've heard it's not a 100% accurate test. Looks like that's the only thing left it could be!

  • I have an iphone 5s, and i am very sad because, when i dislock my phone de app store sign was elimitaded, now i cant dowlond apps, now i cant actualize apps. anyone that have the same problem?

hy, im very sad because in my iphone 5s, the app store dissapers is have been eliminated, and thats like impossible, i dont know waht happend.
    someone can help me?

Check Settings > General > Restrictions > iTunes Store: ON (green)?

  • New External iSight & still same problem

I just got my external iSight camera replaced because I was haveing a issue that whenever I plugged it in, the light would turn on for about 2 seconds, then it would make a noise and shut off. Rotating the ring in the front was of no help either. I sent in for a replacment and now the new one has the exact same problem. The only thing that I can think of is that there is some kinnd of compatability issue or something. Any suggestions are aprecheated, thank you.
    System Specs:
    Powermac G5
    DualCore 2.0Ghz
    2.6GB RAM
    OS X Tiger 10.4.6
    PowerMac G5 2.0Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Cujo,
Thats common. Plugging the iSight in to the firewire port results in the green light coming on and it makes a little noise, thats the camera itself being detected by OSX. Then the little light goes off.
When you open iChat, and open the preferences for Video/Audio, the light will come back on, maybe make the same noise, and should be working.
The green light and associated iSight noises (auto focus), are only present when the camera is in use.
    IE: in a video conference.
    Otherwise, the light is off.
It is not a problem, its how the camera works.
Also, turning the front of the camera only enables or disables the privacy shutter.

  • I started with one itunes account for my iphone and ipad, and now have a second ipad linked to the same itunes.  Can I set up a new itunes account for one ipad without losing what has already been downloaded on it?

I started with one itunes account for my iphone and ipad, and now have a second ipad linked to the same itunes.  Can I set up a new itunes account for one ipad without losing what has already been downloaded on it?  I want to stop my husbands downloads appearing on my ipad, and vice versa.

A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

  • I just purchased a new ipod touch so now I have two. I do not want the second ipod touch to sync the same as the old ipod touch - 2 people with 2 different music preferences. How do I keep them separate.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.
