Now with Lion my WiFi signal continually drops

Wish I never would have upgraded.

When I think of the time I spent to try to get the iPad to work properly with its connectivity, it makes me crazy. I wanted it to work so badly that I spent time I didn't have. I wonder how much free time an Apple employee would give to help with this problem. What I mean is that even though Apple has acknowledged a problem I've read and heard about folks having to Fight to get their money back in full. Apple and other vendors have the gall to make us pay a restocking fee for a defective iPad upon return? As if the end-user is somehow guilty of being too impatient to wait for a firmware update. To spend over 800 dollars (including all the extra crap you may want such as USB adapter, cover, keyboard, etc..).
They, Apple (and the rest) should be bending over backwards in apologies rather than make people fight to simply return a defective product. I lost a lot of respect for Apple because of this. It took me a long time to become a "mac fan", and even though I feel Apple makes a great line of products, for them to take a "it's your fault" stance is low-budget.

There are two possibilities, 1)it is a software problem which will be fixed.
2)It is a hardware problem, and youll have to take it to an iStore.
BUT there is something you should know.
If your under apple care, its free.
If you are not under apple care, itll cost you something to find out where the problem is (i dont live in the US so I dont know) and then extra cost for the reapair itself.

Well Lion does not support power PC applications.  They only way is to upgrade the application, or if your have SL disks, reinstall SL.

  • When I used download sets of photos, movies etc, (before I installed Lion) I used always get a "Download" gizmo which showed me the download happening with both speed and time left.  Now with Lion, nothing shows on my screen.  Can I fix this?

In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".
To find your OS information, on your Windows desktop, right-click the My Computer icon, choose Properties, under System on that small window is info about your OS.

  • Wifi signal continues to sleep after computer wakes up.

if i let my computer go to sleep when i come back and "wake it back up" the wifi signal can not be found. My computer prompts me to "network diagnostic" when i do searchs for 5 mins + sometimes
-50%- it finds the wireless networks around my house like my neighbors ect. any suggestions how to fix this problem im having????
i never, had this problem with my old powerbook g4-other wireless units work just fine so it obviously isnt my router.

I am having the same problems that you described. MacBook early 2008, 2.2 GHz, C2D w/ 4 GB RAM and 10.5.5. When waking from sleep, the MacBook cannot connect to my WPA protected WiFi network. Two iMacs (also C2D), one eMac, one older MacBook (2.0 GHz CoreCuo) and a 1.5 GHz G4 Powerbook have no problems whatever. I repaired the user rights, I reset everything, I reconfigured my WiFi network. Still, the MacBook is playing hard to get. Only when I deactivate WPA encryption do I get a signal, albeit with a noticeable delay.
I saw a similar complaint on a German user forum (www.macgadget.de) today, and that prompted me to look here for similar experiences. Seems like a problem in the early 2008 MacBooks?
The Airport Card is a Broadcom (who came up with that name???), Firmware Version BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.38.9), set on Channel 11.
There is another thread on the same problem. I admit to posting in duplicate.

  • RE: WiFi signal keeps dropping

Since the start of this week the wireless signal from my HH3 keeps dropping and coming back. At first I thought it would have to do with the wireless channels but it wasn't that. I restarted my hub numerous times as well but this hasn’t resolved anything. I’m now thinking that the problem may be with the hub itself. Can anyone tell me what the problem may be?
    Thank You

When you say you reset it was that a facory reset using the recessed button on back and jolding until lights flash?

  • I have a Synology NAS server and a Maxtor HD connected directly to my router. With Snow Leopard I was able to connect through finder directly to the devices and move files accordingly. Now with Lion I cannot connect to either device directly. Solution?

How do you connect to NAS/External HD on router directly with "connect to" command in Finder. Worked in Leopard, but not in Lion?

  • I have mac book pro with lion and constantly get a drop-down menu when clicking on a menu line

I am new to Apple software.  I have a MacBook Pro using Lion.  Question is I constantly get drop-down menus when I click on an item to initate an action,  even as simple as clicking on the red x to close a page.  Why??

Sounds like the right-click behavior is messed up.  Check the Mouse or Trackpad preferences and see what it has for right-click.
Also, it could be that your contol key is stuck down or the keyboard is sending that command for some reason.

  • MBA with Lion Forgets Wifi Settings

New MacBook Air 13". If I close the lid or sleep the machine, then bring the machine back online, it forgets the wifi network it was attached to. Very frustrating, as the only reliable fix is to turn off, then turn on Wifi to ge the list of my access points to appear again, and then reattach (to the one I was just authenticated to). Frustrating as **** to come home, open the lid and have the MBA *not* connect to my WiFi without this silly on/off procedure. PLEASE FIX!!!

Even funnier than this problem is that in my post, Apple redacted my use of the word, "H E double-hockey sticks"...replacing it with asterics. Serioiusly?

  • Can I sync my contacts with a supported mobile phone now with lion?

Now I've upgraded to Lion and there is no iSync, can I sync my phone (Sony Erikson that was supported in iSync)?

You can still use iSync v3.1.2 from Snow Leopard in Lion for now, however, in some OS X update in the future it will stop working as Apple has deprecated the SyncServices framework which iSync uses.

  • My Mac won't shutdown all the time now with Lion

I can't shutdown all the way now most times, the fans keep running. Sometimes it will shutdown all the way on its own but usually not.

I'm so tired. Can't figure this one out. BTW never had this issue in Snow Leopard. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

have you tried shutting down the laptop with the 'reopen windows when logging back in' unchecked?
i had this problem and it was something to do with an 'app' and the 'reopen windows at login' part of lion

  • Will airport express help with a weak wifi signal?

I have a new Mac Pro 12 Core and it's the farthest away from the router and is much slower to respond than the Sony Laptop it is replacing.  Will an Airport Express give the Mac Pro an edge to help it get a stronger signal?

    Hello:
There is probably no way to answer that - it depends on what sort of capability your existing router possesses.
I would probably try an AE, but I do not spend other people's money.
