Nowssbe2.5 Changing Server ip

What is the best way to change the ip on the server? I had a client that after the server was installed, he decided to change subnets... When you change the ip on the server it does not replicate to the other installed products, which is the best way to do this?

How to change server in SAP B1 8.8

I have a problem in using SAP B1 8.8. I have 2 separated server which is one is contain license server and the other server contain database company. My client doesn't want the company database in one server with license server. In SAP B1 2007 that my client used before, this is not a problem. But now, in SAP B1 8.8, it's become a problem because SAP remove "CHANGE SERVER" button in modul change company. I tried to click in the server list but the server that appear is License Server only. I can't find Database Server.
So, How can i choose the database server ?

before you can add your <server-name>\SQLEXPRESS you must have your SBO-COMMON database available in SQL Server.
If you have the original SBO-COMMON.mdf and SBO-COMMON_log.LDF files just place them under you SQL Server DATA folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.SQLEXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA) and Attach from MS SQL Server Management Studio.
Also attach any company databases.
After that you can add <server-name>\SQLEXPRESS as follows:
- open SAP B1 Service Manager
- select License Manager service and click Settings
- click Configure Security (bottom left)
- enter password and click OK
- enter your Connection Settings e.g.
    MSSQL_2008
    <server-name>\SQLEXPRESS
    sa
    <sa-user-password>
- click OK
That will take care of the connection settings but not of your Add-ons registration.
So if you have any add-ons (e.g. Screen Painter, Fixed Assets, etc.) you will have to manually edit the AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo file (under C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One) and change any
Name="<server-name>" entries to Name="<server-name>\SQLEXPRESS"
Save the modified file.
Now start the SAP client, press Change Company and set you Current Server to <server-name>\SQLEXPRESS
Done.

Change server in SAP B1 8.8

Hi Experts,
I have installed 2 server at my client place, 1st one is Live server and 2nd one is test server.
I am using client on my laptop and if i want to change the server, could not able to find change server button on change company form, earlier it was available in SAP B1 2007.
Is there any other option to change the server in SAP B1 8.8

Change Server Option in 8.8

Dear Experts,
I have SAP 8.8 PL05 installed on my laptop.Now I need to connect to the server machine of the client which is also having same version installed. However I do not find any option of 'Change Server' on the client interface as it was in SAP 2007 .
What is the method to change server in 8.8 ?

Changing server time zone

Hi
We are planning to change server timezone,now itz running US-Time zone,and we are going to change it to IST( indian time zone ).
is there any effect on database,.
As ....instance is in archive log mode, after changing time zone need to take cold backup and archivelogs generated after that only can be used for recovery,...any other.....things we need to take kare of......
any suggestion will be helpful.

I think its possible to change the server names. But ya that would impact on the connected systems and you have to modify the RFC destinations of connected R/3 systems as well as have to update the sender and receiver systems with new XI server information

Documentation for changing Server name

Hi,
I'm looking for documentation for changing server name. Ex. from prod1.domainname.com to prod2.domainname.com. We only change the server name, not the server itself.
Does someone know where I can find it?

On the server side you need to edit two files:
1. ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/listener.ora
depending on the protocols you are accepting connections on, you need to change the value for HOST = <new server name goes here>
2. ORACLE_HOME/dbs/init<SID>.ora
You probably haven't specified this parameter, but if you did specify a value for LOCAL_LISTENER, then change it accordingly.
On the client and server side you need to edit one file
1. ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
Find the service names that refer to the databases that live on the server whose name was changed. If TCP is the protocol being used to connect to these databases, then change the HOST = <new server name goes here> accordingly.

Changing server options

How can I changer server options on my i5? It appears to be different than previous models. There are no Advanced settings.

How does ATT like you to configure the SMTP (outgoing mail) server? In particular, what is the port that is used?
When I first upgraded to Mountain Lion, one of my email account's outgoing (SMTP) server stopped working. I played around for a while and finally I found that setting the port manually instead of using "default" got things working again. As far as I can remember this happened (for this particular account) on all devices in my household. Of which there are many.
I used one of the default port numbers, 587, I just didn't use the default button. Sort of like black magic, I know. Especially since other accounts I have use the default port just fine.
This may not help you at all. But it won't hurt to try. You get there via Mail, Preferences, Accounts, Outgoing Mail Server, Edit SMTP server list, Advanced.

Apparently the Server name is stored under:
HKEY_LOCAL_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\Outlooksoft
5\LATEST for each user who uses BPC under the data containing "SERVER"
So this is going to help on this requirement, previous a registry backup.

I have 10.2g database on a Windows Server 2003 in production.
What would be the impact on the database if I change server time i.e. if I roll the clock backwards?
My database server takes time from my DC server and I wont to roll the clock backwards on DC server.

Thanks!The schedulers will be affected. I mean by the schedulers; Oracle defined schedulers (maintenance window, etc...) and user defined schedulers.

Hello.
As the B1_SHR folder cointains all the SAP Business One additional files, such as Microsoft Word and Excel documents, attachments, pictures, scanned documents, etc., you should update the right path in General Settings.
To move the folder location try this:
1. Copy the folder B1_SHR to target server and share it grantting access for all SB1 users.
2. Restore a copy of the Data Base as *** TEST ***, and do the folowing steps on TEST DB.
3. Change the settings under the Tab "Path" in "General Settings", changing all paths to the new folder and subfolder.
4. Save settings and restart the SB1 session.
5. Verify the functionality: Create some PDF's, export to Excel and Word, attach files to activities an messages. The files should be in the new server folder. Check this through some SB1 user accounts.
If all work fine, you could change the folder path in productive DB.
I hope this helps..

Ichat cannot change server setting, cannot connect

iChat cannot connect. Read it somewhere that I should change server setting from 5190 to 443 after logging out. But the server setting will auto and immediately change back to 5190. Won't let me change to 443. Please help. Thank you.

"Safe" is a relative term here.
iChat, when you restart it will recreate them.
com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist (or the Jabber one) only hold the Login details and will force a fresh login to the relevant server.
com.apple.ichatAgent.plist This holds surprising little info. Mainly it holds the info order for the iTunes is Playing script (Artist, Album and Track etc.). It holds the default Idle time (and then of course if you are Idle)
As iChatAgent actually does the login is hold pointers to the other .plists.
com.apple.ichat.SubNet.plist Holds the Bonjour info (or rather where to get it in the Address Book).
The Status Messages one does what it says. It will hold all the Status Messages you have Created and decided to Keep.
com.apple.ichat.plist This holds everything else. Everything in the Preferences accept the Account Pane.
SOme of the Menu Items depending which window is Front.
Examples. The Sort Order of your Buddy listt from the View Menu (when the Buddy List is "front". This can be a 2 pass setting (As in Avaible and Alphabetical). The capabilities shown in the Connection Doctor. (Video Menu).
It does hold a list of all the account you have in the Preferences and some info is then pulled to Display the Accounts in the iChat Menu and the Buddy List windows in the Window Menu
Most important it holds the default or other Font you chose in Messages in the Preferences, whether that font is Coloured, the colour of the IM Background (Balloons or other style). (Which Style form the View Menu > Messages). Whether you are saving transcripts of the Text Chats, and in iChat 5 what part of an old chat it displays.
If you were using Incoming Overrides you lose that setting.
All your Alerts settings both Globally set in Preferences > Alerts and those set in a Buddy's Info Card
I could probably list more.
If you have a problem then it pays to tackle the .plist one at a time so that you know which one "Fixed" it.
Deleting them all in one go is often too heavy handed.
When I have a clear idea as to which one may be causing the issue I will list that one only.

WRT610N - Unable to change "Server Name" - No Text box.

I have my WRT610N running V2 firmware. In all of the documentation I see, on the Admin area within the Storage Tab, there is a text box next to the Server Name and you are able to update that field to change the Server Name. However, I have no textbox here, and thus am unable to change the Server Name. I've attempted factory defaults, firmware upgrades, and multiple reboots to attempt to solve the issue. Any help out there?

Whats the Firmware version is installed on your Router and whats the Version number of your Router? If it's an Version 2 Router, then it doesn't have an option to change the Server Name. As far as i know the Version 1 Router has an option to change the Server Name.
If its an Version 1 Router and if you have updated the firmware, with the latest firmware you don't have an option to change the Server Name, By Default its WRT610N.

Change server name in SM51

hi guys,
we have two instance central and dialog running on different server cofigured by clustering . whernever sap failure or any other reason when we stop and start cluster we got change in sm51 status. the server name of dialog remain same but central instance server name changed by cluster package name. and it will correct by restart sap application. can anyone tell me what the issue and how we solve it.

I guess you might need to get cluster log, system log, audit log to capture the changes. So that you know which function is involved in triggering the changes.
