NPR and Apple TV update v6

Is NPR streaming radio available on the Apple TV v6 upgrade ON iTunes Radio? for example Is WBUR still available after the upgrade?
Sorry about the edited repost. I'm a newbie
Thank you

iTunes Radio is not the same as Internet Radio which has been part of iTunes and continues to be so. iTunes radio is entirely a service provided by Apple and as such includes no third party radio streams.

Have a problem with Home Sharing with Apple TV and iTunes. Have latest iTunes and Apple TV downloads. Have both items set up for home sharing with same address and passwords. AppleTV running fine for everything else. FYI, my library is about 60gigs. AppleTV model is MD199LL/A if that matters. Really want to hear my entire music library and not just Purchased items. Thanks for any help!!!

I have an older PC with Windows XP Professional on it. I updated to the latest iTunes and I am able to access the photos, etc. on it. However, my Windows 7 PC still does work (since last Apple TV update). Apple TV does not recognize that Home Sharing is turned here. The latter PC has all my current photos on it which I would like share with others on my Apple TV. A fix would be appreciated.

  • In trying to update itunes to version 10.7 I get messages that older versions of "Bonjour" and "Apple Software update" cannot be removed and so the update fails. Itunes works well on my old ipod nano but not on my new ipod touch? Any ideas

Any ideas as to how I can update an older version of iTunes to at least version 10.7 given the problems I'm having with "bonjour" and the "software update"?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Updateentries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Next, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

Does it go through properly this time?

  • Unable to uninstall QuickTime and Apple Software Update

    HELP US
This is really screwed up. I got the notice to update to 10, ran the update, threw an error about looking for a file, quicktime.msi. Nowhere on my machine. I followed the troubleshooting tips. I am now unable to uninstall Quick Time, still looking for the quicktime.msi. Unable to uninstall the Apple Software Update, looks for applesoftware.msi. I spent 3 months moving my entire music directory to itunes, now I cannot update/add music to my wifes ipod, or my mother in laws ipod, both 8 gig and now I am not sure if I want to get the 32 gig ipod touch. When I try and download version 10, once again it looks for quicktime.msi, cannot find it, fails to install quicktime and of course itunes does noT install. Now what? anybody got a copy of the two .msi's?
Is there anyone out there from apple to help us?

Unfortunately, these sorts of msi-related troubles have gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any *Apple Software Update* and QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly this time?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, And And Apple Software Update Aren't Working.

I've had a problem syncing my iphone to itunes ever since updating to 10.7 , so i reinstalled itunes.
When that didn't work, i uninstalled itunes and all programs related to it (quicktime, apple application support, apple mobile device support, apple software update, mozilla firefox, and safari), and reinstalled itunes again, but to no avail.
I've tried repair in add/remove programs for itunes, but it didn't work.
When I tried to do that with any of the other itunes related applications, I got this message: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. "
When i browsed for the location of any of them, the were no where to be found on my computer.
Can someone PLEEAASE help me because this is reallllyy stressful for me??

  • Windows 2K and Apple Software Update

Is there any way of preventing a W2K machine from automatically getting Safari from Apple Software Update?
Apple Software Update does not seem to check that it is incompatible with W2K and yet installs itself anyways.
For that matter, is there any method of excluding specific updates (such as Safari) from ASU at all (WinXP/Vista/W2K?

Yeah, as AOpen said, go to the Tools menu and select "Ignore Selected Updates." But, if you're getting these things coming up it sounds like you're on a later version of iTunes than is supported. iTunes 7.3.2 for Windows 2000 is the last one for that OS: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/itunes732forwindows2000.html
Maybe it's just best to uninstall the Apple Software Update component, if you're at the latest version for your OS already. ..if you're using a higher version, and the associated Update software that came with it, well it's not expecting to run from this OS in the first place, so of course doesn't check for that.

  • Internet radio and Apple TV update 6.0

Has internet radio been eliminated with the 6.0 update to Apple TV, or is it hidden somewhere as it is in the new iTunes update.
The primary reason I bought a 2nd Apple TV was strictly for internet radio through a housewide sound system.  To remove it from the software almost seems criminal to me.  I get that iTunes has its "own" radio now, but surely Apple must realize there's a world out there beyond them.  Maybe not.
So - can I access internet radio through my Apple TV?

Internet radio is available through the 'Radio' Option.

  • HT1926 I cannot connect my iphone to itunes. When I go through the troubleshooting, it tells me to uninstall and re-install itunes. BUT I do not have Apple Software Update or Quicktime to uninstall. It tells me that Apple Services failed to start!! Please

I go through all the motions in troubleshooting and uninstall Itunes, but I have not got Quicktime and Apple Software Update to uninstall. • Uninstalled QucikTime, I have these two programs, apple support update, and

I used QuickTime player on my windows 7 64 bit PC , didn't like it, removed it using add/remove program. Now I have these two: Apple Application Support Version 1.3.1 and is 42.8 MB and Apple Software update 2.1.1.116, 2.15 MB. They are from Apple, Inc. They are listed on my ad /remove program. My question:Since I have Uninstalled Quick time player, do i need to remove these two files? Are they related to any other important software like (e.g adobe)?
I have apple support update, which has , as I understand,an update , but I no longer have a Quick Time program. Do I need to get rid of these two programs, and how to do it safely?
    Thanks

They're not doing anything now, so you can remove them. Uninstall them from the Add/Remove Programs, just as you did with QuickTime.
    Regards.

  • Apple Software Updater On 64-Bit

I run QuickTime Player and Apple Software Updater on a Windows 7 64-bit system.  My problem echoes those recent postings under the Windows topic.  Yesterday, while runing the updater, I kept getting a blank program box.  Usually it shows what is available in addition to detecting updates for what one has.  Yesterday this page was not available; so I uninstalled both QuickTime and the Updater so I could reinstall them new.  The Repair feature in Add/Remove Programs already failed to fix the problem.  The reinstallation did not work either.  The discovery of this problem is disappointing because this aspect of Apple's Windows software was efficient to the extent that sometimes it was the only way to install an update.  Still, I can use QuickTime to detect its available updates; but can we expect Apple to fix this problem?

    SOLVED IT
Right click on Apple Software Update in the Start Menu and bring up the Properties Window
    Select the Security tab
Select your Username (don't worry about what rights the computer Administrators group has, it does not apply here) and select Edit
After you pressed Edit, you should have a Window that shows all the computer groups (Administrators, etc.) and usernames (yours and other users (if any)) on your computer. Select yours.
Change your Rights to Full Control, press OK.
Press Apply, applying the changed settings to Apple Software Update, then press OK to close the Properties Window.
You can now run Apple Software Update and see what programs (updates) there are to download. For some reason, the latest update which came down gave the computer user (in this case, you--meaning pitiful us) no rights other than deleting. This meant that we could not see anything--no updates, nothing. What we just did through this list was give the ability back to the user.

  • The older version of Apple Software Update Cannot be removed-WinXP

I have followed every step from the support site concerning completely removing iTunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, and Apple Software Update to no avail.
I then went and through the installation of the following tools to clean any remaining elements from my system.
installed and ran Windows Install Clean Up
    Installed and ran  Revo Unistaller
I went to the Apple site and downloaded a fresh copy of iTunes 10.5 and ran the install, all went well until the following message appeared.
The older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed.
This indicated to me that I must have some lingering components on the system that the installer sees and I cannot find.
I went back through the registry and searched for any entries having to do with Apple, Bonjour, Qwicktime and removed any and all.
Still the same error.  So this is where it sits,
    Any additional suggestions from anyone?

I have done the exact same steps as Drewfromlacenter over the past week.  Also to no avail.  Same message about the older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed, and it tells me to contact my Technical Support Group.  Who is that anyway??  Any suggestions where we go from here?

  • How do I get Windows "Apple Software Update" tool point to my local server?

I have a Mac OS X Server, with Apple Software Update server running.
I also have Windows machines, with Safari, iTunes, and Apple Software Update, of course.
I would like the Windows version of Apple Software Update to point to my local ASU server. There isn't a preference for that, but there should be a registry entry, I would think.
Is this possible, if so how?
    Thanks,
    -Dan.

I can't accept this. According to Apple (http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/L355781BSoftwrUdtTB.pdf),
"Mac OS X Server also supports hosting Apple updates for software running in Boot Camp, such as iTunes and QuickTime for Windows."
I have already figured out that you can set a registry value that will make Apple Software Update for Windows talk to a different server to find updates, I just don't know how to get Software Update Server to cache the updates for Windows software.

Two weeks ago I was updating my iPhone 4 to the new software. As soon as it was done it sent my phone into recovery mode. I talked to apple support line four times and they could not figure it out. I got frustrated after two days of

I had to change my Apple ID and password in itunes. Now my icloud doesn't work and I can't update my apps on my iPhone. I have looked at suggestions on the community pages and apple suggestions but none of them are relevant to iOS 8.1.2
icloud just keeps bringing up my old email address & asking for my old password which doesn't exist anymore and when I try to sign out of icloud it wants my old password, when I tried to change my primary email back to the old one it wants me to verify it through an email address that doesn't exist. Please can you help me sort out this nightmare.

    Hi skippy2012trev,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
    Cheers,
    Joe
