  • Why Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 not working appropriately in Firefox 13.0?

    Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bits Pt-Br
    Firefox 13.0  (Adobe Flash Player Plug-in) 11.3 r300
    IE9 (Adobe Flash Player Active-x) 11.3 r300
    In time: In both browsers (Firerox and IE9) Adobe Flash Player is slower than normal and in Firerox sometimes it crash.
    My System:

    I too have an 8GB RAM and quad core processor on my desktop and my laptop it is an Intel Quad i7 core, 8GB RAM. When there was any sluggishness, it was not Flash, but something else causing the heavy CPU useage because it was fighting with Flash.
    On my computer, I went into FireFox Add-ons, then checked the extensions and plugins.The one problem I had was with a Real Player plugin. It allowed the recording and download of any video, with an App style button that appears above the the video itself when the cursor is placed there. For me that was disabled by FireFox because of conflicts, but even in the disabled state, it caused Flash issues. When I uninstalled the extension or plugin, Flash worked fine.
    It may be the same, or another plugin or extension that is causing the issue. FireFox sites say to disable, but that proved useless to do because disabling for the RealPlayer plugin made no difference, it had to be removed completely to see the difference.
    If no greyed out ones, then uninstall all the plugins and test FireFox. If all works great, reinstall one by one and each time test FireFox with Flash. You will likely find which one it is and know what to do from there.
    I know it is a bit of a hassle, but from the experience I had so far, Flash was not the issue, it was from another plugin.
    If it is Real Player, then disable the plugin by:
    Close Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer if either is running.
    Click "Start," click "All Programs," click "Real" and click "RealPlayer." (Or click the RealPlayer shortcut to open it)
    Click the "RealPlayer" menu button at the top-left corner of the RealPlayer window and click "Preferences."
    Click "Downloading and Recording" category near the bottom of the list of categories at the left side of the preferences window.
    Uncheck the "Enable Web Downloading and Recording" checkbox by clicking it.
    Click "OK."
    Re-open Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.
    Worst comes to worst, uninstall real player completely or if there is another program that installed a problem plugin to FireFox, install that.
    Let us know how this worked out.

  • Recently I cannot view certain attached videos because I need the adobe flash player. It does not get installed and the system says it will do so once firefox is closed. pl.help

    recently certain video or pictorial attachments to my e-mails be opened because the system requires the installation of the Adobe Flash player with Java plug-ins. The message also gives a link for installation. It appears to install but nothing really happens. Then the message advises that it will install automatically once security is uninstalled or when Firefox is off. Nothing seems to work. Please help. P.S. I recently also installed the Firefox 4.0 version also

    1.Download the Flash setup file from here using Firefox: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
    Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
    then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

  • I downloaded firefox 4.0.1 and it does not work with Norton. How do I load 4.0 back on?

    With firefox 4.0.1 none of my passwords or log in names are entered from my norton program. I would like to go back to 4.0 which was working fine with all my systems. Any way this can be done? Below it list my installed plug ins but those are from my laptop which I'm using now not from my desktop which is the problem child.

    Symantec are due to release updates very soon to make their add-ons work in Firefox 4.0.1. For details see http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Norton-product-compatibility-with-Firefox-Updates/m-p/443808
    Pending this update, you can go back to Firefox 4.0, their add-ons work in that version. You can get Firefox 4.0 from http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/4.0/win32/ - you need to select the folder for your language, you can then download and run the Firefox 4 setup file to install it.
    If you do install Firefox 4.0 temporarily turn off automatic updates until Symantec update their add-ons. To do that in the Firefox options window, go to the Advanced panel, and then the Update tab and de-select the option to automatically check for updates to Firefox.

  • Real Player Video Downloader does not work anymore - isn't even accessible anymore - after Firefox / Adobe Flash Player update, how to fix this?

    Hi David, try dropping the .dll extension, in fact you can just enter dom.ipc.plugins and it should come up. Or enter the whole thing and then backspace until it comes up. Also, I have Windows 7(x64) and this fix worked fine for me.

    Im installing adobe flash player and its telling me to close mozilla firefox to continue. i exited off the internet but it still says i need to close it

    Download and installation are two separate steps. The Adobe Flash '''installation''' procedure requires that Firefox be closed before installing Flash.
    orange Firefox button > '''''Exit''''' or File > Exit to close Firefox. Then wait a minute or so before starting to install Flash.

  • I am trying to download Adobe Flash player and it is asking me to close Mozilla Firefox, how do I do this?

    I am trying to download Adobe Flash Player and it is asking me to close Mozilla Firefox before it will download. How do I do this?

    Save the Flash installer to the desktop and close Firefox via File > Exit or Firefox > Exit.
    Then run the Flash installer with a double lick on that desktop icon.<br />
    You may need to use "Run as Administrator" via the right-click context menu of that file.

  • Why the hell ADOBE FLASH PLAYER 10.2 DOESN'T WORK on Firefox 4???

    Adobe Flash Player 10.2 doesn't work on firefox 4. I downloaded 10 times, I installed and again, "Please install ADOBE FLASH PLAYER"

    You appear to have it installed twice. Your system specs show you have both Shockwave Flash 9.0 r28 and Shockwave Flash 10.2 r159 installed.
    What I suggest you do here is to uninstall Flash using Adobe's uninstaller which you can download from here: [http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe uninstall_flash_player.exe]
    Close Firefox before you run the uninstaller, then reboot.
    Then manually install Flash using this file: [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe install_flash_player.exe] Close Firefox again before you run it.

  • Firefox Plugins lists Shockwave Flash 12.0.0.70 but Adobe lists this as Adobe Flash Player, and Version 12.0.9.149 as Adobe Shockwave Player, so wtf is going on

    Flash causes us all immense confusion, and Firefox is adding to the problem.
    My Firefox Add-ons page lists (under Plugins -- isn't there a difference?) that I have:
    Shockwave Flash 12.0.0.70 which is set to "Always Activate".
    Adobe websites list:
    Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.70
    Adobe Shockwave Player 12.0.9.149
    -- so what on earth is the Firefox-listed "Shockwave Flash"?
    This simply adds to the utter confusion already surrounding Flash Player -- which I cannot find anywhere amongst my Programs -- but which I can find under "Uninstall or change a Program" where it is listed as "Adobe Flash Player 12 Plugin".
    There is also the thorny issue of FlashPlayer vs. FlashPlayerDownloader......
    I need a flash of inspiration to get me out of shock -- I'm not waving, I'm drowning!

    In the internals of the plugin it is still referenced as Shockwave Flash. That hasn't changed as it would break websites that check for a specific plugin name. You can see that on the about:plugins page and in the properties of the Flash plugins file.
    You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) and paste this JavaScript code in the command line to see how the Adobe Flash Player plugin identifies itself:
    <pre><nowiki>console.log(navigator.plugins["Shockwave Flash"].name);
    console.log(navigator.plugins["Shockwave Flash"].description);
    </nowiki></pre>
    *https://developer.mozilla.org/Tools/Web_Console
    On disk you will also see Macromedia for folder names used by the plugin.
    *32 bit Windows: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
    *64 bit Windows: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\
    * C:\Users\&lt;user&gt;\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\

  • Firefox adobe flash player plugin continues to crash, how do i fix this?

    with each update from adobe and from Firefox, flash player becomes more unstable. the last time it was stable was when adobe was still in 10th version but once it reach 11th version it became unstable. i have did everything the tread has offer to do from updating to the latest flash player and updating Firefox. uninstall Firefox and uninstall flash player and then reinstalling it. I have reset Firefox to its default settings. i keep my system clean of cookies and other things using CC cleaner and disk cleanup. i have the fast internet service provider and i have disable my antivirus software to make sure it was not interfering. i have tried safe mode. and have disable video accelerator as well. to no prevail. i know this has to be a flaw in the update. when it crashes a box appears saying a "script as stop working or is busy would you like to continue or stop plugin" of course i stop it because it will just freeze the computer if i don't. this occurs on a daily basics now. it would also appear that it slows down my internet speed while the process is running as evident of when it crashes my internet moves extremely faster than normal. i love Firefox and do not wont to switch. i know i can not return to internet explorer its terrible unstable and prone to virus but now Firefox is acting up. is their a add on or something to fix this issue that's been troubling users for the last 2 years. i have windows 7 home premium 64 bit computer. i have gone as far as performing a factory restore.

    I have been chasing my tail with this problem for several years. Perhaps it is a problem common to Window 7 / 64 bit. At any rate you'd think that both Adobe and the Firefox developers could find a solution.
    I'll try the above fix but if no solution is forthcoming I will be changing back to IE. After all the very reason I came to the Firefox browser was that IE was at the time not up to the challenge. It looks like the tables are now reversed.

  • Drag and drop does not work in firefox 3

    Does anybody has the same issue with firefox when you add a layout to the oracle composer and you want to drag and drop some components that it just does not work...
    When i hoover over the title bar of a component i see the cross icon but the drag & drop does not work. WHen i do the same in IE8 or google chrome, it does work.
    I have this issue for both oracle composer stuff as for sites i build in webcenter spaces.
    We are working with the latest version of webcenter

    WebCenter is compatible with:
    * Firefox 2 & 3
    * Internet Exploirer 7 and 8
    * Safari 3.0
    It might be caused by a firefox extension in your browser.
