.NRW files not displaying thumbnails in Bridge

.NRW RAW files from Nikon P7800 do not display thumbnails or metadata in Bridge. PsCC, Bridge and CR 8.3 are all showing as up to date on CC Desktop App. Files display correctly in Lr 5.3. Any suggestions ?

I have:
PhotoshopCC>Edit>Preferences>CameraRaw>8.3.0.141
BridgeCC>Edit>CameraRawPreferences>8.2.0.94
The computer found  6 files  named Camera Raw.8bi.  They are in pairs , two in the CS5 folder and two in the CS6 folder, two in the CC folder. One of each pair has >Program Files(x86)> The other one has  >Program Files>.
When I go to C:\ Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats\ only one (Camera Raw.8bi) file shows. This was created on 18 March 2013 and modified on 3 December 2013.
If I go to C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats\ another (Camera Raw.8bi) file appears, created and modified same date and time as the first one.
Is this making any sense ? Thanks for your help.
It appears Bridge is using CR 8.2, the question is why and how do I persuade it to preference CR 8.3
By the way, I failed to mention it previously CR is converting and editing the NRW files normally, I just can't see their thumbnails in Bridge.

    My company recently installed Adobe Drive using a CMIS connection to Alfresco community edition (bear with me, I'm the art director not IT so I hope all that made sense) only to find out that CMIS connections don't support thumbnails and previews in bridge. I then inquired with Adobe about their DAM solution and they said that was for larger enterprises. I would like to know if anyone knows of a work around? I can't imagine we are the only company who wants to use the versioning drive offers AND maintain our workflow with bridge. Any help would be appreciated..

    Actually, it might be worth checking through the iPod + iTunesdownloads page to see if there are any useful widgets and whatnot for that there. (There's a few notes-related items showing up there too, which might work better than my suggestions about performing unnatural acts with your lyrics tags.)

  • Bridge CC not displaying thumbnail/preview large PSD (win7)

    Hello!
    Latest Bridge CC, will not display thumbnail or preview of many of my large (1.5-3gb) PSD files.
    1) I have PURGED CACHE in Prefs
    2) I've individual cleared cache for individual PSDs.
    So, I just see the generic icon.
    My only reason for even using Bridge is to visually select from my large PSD/TIFFS without having to open them first.
    I'm pretty sure these same files previewd when I was running CS6 Bridge.  Lightroom 5's import will show the preview.

    It was strange since the thumbnails work in CS5.1 and 6
    Then you must have set them before to a larger amount, I believe the default is 1000 MB and has been so for as long as I can remember
    But I'm not sure about the generic icon because usually it shows a low quality thumb with black border, like the ones you get when using 'Prefer embedded' as quality.

    Could you please attempt to shed some light on why FLVs created with ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER CS6 do not display thumbnails in ADOBE BRIDGE CS6, yet apple finder is able to display thumbnails for these same FLVs without issue?
    I'm running CS6 Production Premium with ALL updates installed on 10.6.8
    I appreciate any input and help provided the input is provided by someone who either
    A) knows the answer because they actually work for adobe
    B) actually tried this themselves before attempting to provide a solution
    If the conclusion is that it is a codec issue or a header issue with the FLVs You'd have to present a very strong case to back that claim up as it makes no sense whatsoever that CS6 is unable to generate thumbnails for media encoded using CS6, yet Apple finder can without issue. NOT to mention the FLVs in question are CREATED on the same machine with the same codecs installed that is trying to generate previews in Bridge.
    Apologies if my frustration is showing, I've gotten and seen several... incompetent replies on this forum regarding this issue and it has never been actually addressed properly as far as I can tell by Adobe support.

    We are all just incompetent users here.  As pointed out before this is just a user to user forum, Adobe rarely checks in.
    I was hoping by now you would have gotten to the bottom of this problem and were offering a solution.

    Try the following:
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
    Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
    In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • JPG images not displayed correctly in Bridge and Photoshop (Mac OS)

    I am using CS4 under OSX 10.4.11 on a PowerMac G5 Quad with 23" Apple cinema display. Images which have been captured as JPG are displayed fine by Preview, but when opened in Bridge, Camera Raw or Photoshop. the colours are all "washed out". The attached screen capture should give an idea of the difference, with the upper being Camera Raw (image settings) and the lower being Preview. My monitor has been calibrated and I'm using sRGB IEC61966-2.1 colour space in Camera Raw and Photoshop. The colours displayed by Preview are pretty close to "real life". I find it virtually impossible to adjust the colours in Photoshop to get back to anything similar.
    After opening the image in Photoshop without adjustment, and Save As JPEG with embedded color profile, Preview displays the new image the same as Photoshop. Save As JPEG without embedded color profile, and Preview displays this copy just like the original. It seems that Photoshop is making different (incorrect) assumptions about what color space to use when there is no embedded color profile. Shouldn't it assume sRGB like virtually everything else (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRGB)? Or is its interpretation of sRGB incorrect? How can I fix this?

    I can unambiguously and in good faith represent to you that my color management, from capture to print, is as spot-on as anyone with any kind of setup can hope to achieve.  Unequivocally and without qualifications.
    Now, first things first:  Forget about trying to synchronize color management across the point applications lumped together only by Adobe marketing fiat into a variety of meaningless "creative suites".  Concentrate on Photoshop.  Do not try to use Bridge to synchronize anything.
    The "suites" are a totally artificial construct created by Adobe bean counters and marketing types.  The point applications (i.e. the individual programs clumsily bundled together, e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) are developed independently by separate engineering teams that are not only not in the same building, but in different cities, different states of the American Union, and even in different countries.  They have very little communication among them, if any, as evidenced by repeated posts in these forums by Photoshop engineering staff urging us, the end users, to let the other teams know in their own forums that a given problem exists and is actually affecting our work.
    Enough said about the cause of the problem.  The end result is that Color Management is at very, very different levels of progress and sophistication in each individual point application, with only Photoshop fully entitled to be considered state of the art.
    Secondly, a disclaimer:  I have been hanging on to my CRT monitors and take care of them as Jascha Heifetz used to take care of his Stradivarius.  I don't know what I will do if I manage to outlive the usefulness and accuracy of my CRTs (unlikely at this point).  I have despaired in futile efforts to bring the luminosity of any LCD monitor down to where I would feel comfortable calibrating and profiling it.  I believe my monitors are the foundation of my color management efforts.
    Especially if you have one of the extreme wide-gamut LCD or LED monitors, you'll face an uphill battle. 
    Be careful to avoid any version 4 icc profiles, whether canned or generated by your calibration software.  Stick to version2 icc profiles.  Ask the manufacturer of your calibration software/hardware if in doubt.
    Here are some not-too-recent, but thoroughly representative screen shots of the calibration results I obtain with my monitors, which I calibrate and profile often and regularly (I validate the calibration at least several times per month).
    In a nutshell, my color management practices and settings mirror those described by Bruce Fraser, Jeff Schewe, Andrew Rodney and Gary Ballard's site.  I have learned from all of them.
    My working color space is ProPhoto RGB.  I choose to work with PSD and PSB files.  As a long-time, rabid JPEG hater, I only rarely deal with JPEGs, using them sporadically to illustrate a point in this forum or elsewhere in the web.  My main output consists of prints.
    I only deal with tagged image files (files with an embedded color profile) and often recommend beating up with a baseball bat any moron that hands you an untagged file—figuratively of course, but I find the expression gets my point across unambiguously.
    Following is a screen shot of some of my pertinent settings:
    Note that I have never bought into the "suite" concept myself.  I do have and routinely use Adobe Illustrator 10.x, InDesign 2.x and Acrobat Professional 8.x, but they are all older, independent versions of each point application, licensed at different times.
    Be further advised, that the answer to many problems offered by Adobe engineers often is not to install VersionCue, or uninstall it, or at least disable it.
    Also, as outlined at the beginning of this post, concentrate on Photoshop, not on synchronizing applications that can't really communicate with each other, despite the claims of Adobe marketing hacks to the contrary.
    One big caveat, do not fall into this trap:

    I agree Terrance. However, I was able to copy other large batches of other files (my music for example) without any issues. The issue only showed up when copying iPhoto's library and/or the photos themselves. This was repeated 3 times; I copied all my other files to the drive then it unmounted on iPhoto. And, as I said, again when I started with a fresh reformat and just iPhoto. That does not seem like hardware to me if it is only happening with one set of files.
    I have managed to get the iPhoto library to work on my other external drive. It wanted a rebuild twice and a thumbnail rebuild once. I am now attempting to copy it over to the new HGST internal drive.
    Anyone have a suggestion for alternatives to iPhoto? I have aperture, maybe I will try that. But from what I understand, it just shares the same library as iPhoto.

    When you see it in Firefox  - do the thumbnail populate the grid?  See attached populated and un-populated.

  • Leica X1 DNG files not viewable thumbnails in Media Expression

    Hi-
    I just bought a Leica X1 which shoots raw in DNG format but the raw DNG files it creates to not display thumbnails in Media Expression (formerly a micorsoft product, now Phase one).
    I am running mac OS X 10.6.4
    One "solution" offered in the Leica forum was to run the Leica DNG file in DNG converter... I did and it worked but that is a really really clumsy solution to what I feel should not be a problem.... and renaming and deleting original files etc it a real PITA if you shoot any number of photos.
    I know that Nikon had issues with new versions of NEF files which had something to do with "header changes" in the NEF file before ACR could decode them, and I'm wondering if there is some similar issue with DNG that I am not aware of.
    Any information would greatly be appreciated.

    the "appear for a moment" is probably Aperture showing the preview image in the .raw file, before deciding that it can't handle the raw image data.
    (If it is this, then odds are Finder will show the images but Preview.app will also fail to.)
    Clearly MacOS understands the .raw file format, but thinks that it doesn't have support for however your camera identifies itself in the EXIF data. Modifying the Raw.plist is the way to try, for now.

    Step 2, Answers – More Products > BI Publisher > My Folders > Create a new report > Edit > Data Model > New > Type: SQL Query > Data Source: Oracle BI EE > Query Builder > from SupplierSales assign Customer, Periods, Sales Facts (select Region, state, Year, Units Shipped) > Results > Save > Save
    Click Layouts > New > enter Name ….. > Click Layouts > borrows .rtf file in Manage T file > Upload > Save > Click View
    It is showing only the .rtf file without data. Why there is no data?
    Please guide me to solve this issue.

    I an using fusion 11.1.2.1 32 bit. I have Copied the Icons as well as GIF files in C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\forms\java folder.
    At button property i set Iconic to yes
    and file = addrow
    Icon not display at run time.
    but when i set file = abc.GIF
    image is displaying at run time.
    My doubt is that ICO file not displaying at run time while GIF file are displaying.
    Do i need to change configuration ?

    First Try this steps
    To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
    Double-click My Computer, and then click Options on the View menu.
    Verify that the Icon file type appears on the File Types tab. If the Icon file type does not appear in the Registered File Types box, skip to step 10.
    Click Icon in the Registered File Types box, and then click Edit.
    Verify that the following settings exist, and then click OK:
    The Description Of Type box contains Icon.
    If there is a Confirm Open After Download check box, it should be selected.
    If the settings do not appear exactly as listed in step 4, click Remove, click Yes, and then click OK. If the settings do appear as listed in step 4, skip to step 10.
    Click New Type.
    In the Description Of Type box, type Icon.
    In the Associated Extension box, type ICO.
    Click OK, and then click Close.
    Use Registry Editor to view theHKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.icokey, and then verify that the default string contains the following value:icofileIf the .ico key does not exist, create it, and then insert the value listed above. If any other values exist in the .ico key, delete them.

    1. Create a “icons” folder and place all your gifs in there
    i.e. “c:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\forms\java\<icons>”
    2. From within icons folder make a jar file of all the gif images:

    We are running a project using RH 11, team consist of 3 person (include me)
    But we have problem with many  .htm file from my 1st coworker, file not displaying in Topic List in my Robohelp and 2nd coworker.
    Although we already get the latest file again and again
    But .htm file displaying in all our RH11 folder.
    In my 1st coworker RH, all file displaying in Topic List also RH11 folder, but when file generated then
    Many files from 1st coworker, hyperlink is not working well (broken link / file not found)

    First of all, make sure you do not have the following files in source control: .cpd, .pss, .ldb.
    These files contain local information that can cause problems when in source control.
    Then try this:
    Everyone deletes the .cpd file.
    Everyone gets the latest files for the whole project from source control.
    Open the project.
    Does everything now display correctly?
    If yes, you need to make sure you delete the cpd file before opening the project each day, and also during the day if you know a co-worker has made changes that you need. This file is a database which includes a list of all the files Robohelp knows about. When other people are adding and removing files, this information no longer matches properly. I recommend doing a Get Latest in these situations as well, just to make sure Robohelp can find the correct information.
    If you are still not seeing the correct files repeat the above process, but at step 2, pick the options to Overwrite local files. I can't say where you will see these options - they may be two checkboxes in a dialog box when you select Get Latest - it will depend on your source control application.

  • Files not displaying in list view?

    I recently upgraded my MacPro (early 2008 8core) from Snow Leopard (10.6.8)  to Lion.
    At first i wanted to do a fresh install on my machine but soon realised it wasnt possible to import old accounts from another internal drive so i opted to upgrade the system instead.
    After doing so I was faced with an odd problem of files not displaying in my finder windows when switching through internal drives or changing from 'file view' to 'list view' or 'column view' etc...
    The attached screenshots were taken in sequence youll also note that the path bar & top window name dont update either.
    The relevant drives are in healthy condition with several tests run over them to ensure their healthy(Disk Utility & Drive Genius). I have also run permissions repair, and a utility to empty cahces etc (OnyX). From what i can see its possibly something to do with the Finder not updating or refreshing the window? The issue seems to be isolated to the drives however intermittently the problem exists deeper into the directory on 'TerraTank' Volume.
    The finder also crashes semi-frequently and the problem seems to dispaear for a while and revealing the contents of these volumes for a few mins.
    I have also checked activity monitor to see if any particular process was going haywire and all seemed relativly normal.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem?

    Onyx may be causing problems.  Don't use it on a non-backed up system, as cleaning caches may damage them, and make things not work.    Make sure your Spotlight indexes all drives you wish to be searchable.  Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Spotlight and add each hard drive to the Privacy section, and then remove it again.  Then click on the Spotlight menu every half hour to see when it stops saying that it is indexing.  It might take a few hours.  But once done, it should be fixed.

    .nef files not displayed in my content window. I just want to work, not screw around fixing thing. How come the .nef files won't display anymore? The new .nef files don't display.

    Well, I'm afraid I'm not going to be a lot of help. From what I see, if everything is installed correctly it should be working. I know that there has been a few challenges associated with Vista, but I don't know enough about that aspect to really comment. I'm still using Windows XP.
    As far as Camera Raw is concerned, there have been four updates since CS3 was released. If you haven't done any updates you are probably in for a pleasant surprise. New controls have been added that most people have found to be quite valuable. The most current version of Camera Raw is 4.3.1. The first thing I would suggest is for you to download that update and get it installed and see it that makes a difference.
    I know you indicated that you don't want to have to do a lot of fine tuning of the program. But Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) is updated frequently, and you always want to make sure you have the most current version. If the new version of ACR doesn't resolve your issues the problem "might" be related to Vista. And I'm afraid I cannot help you with that at all.
