NSA collecting phone records of millions of Verizon customers daily

"Top secret court order requiring Verizon to hand over all call data shows scale of domestic surveillance under Obama"
Folks, you need to read this article.  Did Verizon protest this Obama Administration order, even going to the courts to not comply?  No word of that in the Guardian article.
Of course, now that I've posted this, the National Security Agency will flag me.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jun/06/nsa-phone-records-verizon-court-order

Bozlo,  I thought the same thing, but how do we know Obama isn't gathering all the data from the other carriers as well?  I would not put it past that lying traitor.
Here's another article about it.  The is really hitting the fan today.  Yet one more Obama scandal.  I hope we take the Senate and keep the House in 2014 (I'm sure we will) and that our Congressmen and Senators have the guts to impeach this fraud.  He has trampled the Constitution and Bill of Rights...he disgusts me.

    Another case of Big Brother and Big Government trampling on its citizens.  First the IRS, the State, then Health and Human Services, then Labor.  As a customer I detest this unwarranted dragnet.  Secondly, are they doing it to other companies?  Gee  whiz, is there a camera in my bathroom?

    Don't just call customer service, call people in their PR department and try to get them on our side.  Verizon has lobbyists in DC that could help get change in the law.  Here are numbers for Verizon's PR department:

  • I know the day and time of a conference call that took place b/w 2 Verizon customers and a 3rd party but it is not reflected in either phone record. Why?

      I am an attorney with a law firm that is involved in litigation where the date and time of a 3 way call that took place in June 2009 between an attorney at my firm, a broker, and the broker's client.  The broker and broker's client are both Verizon Wireless customers.  I have their phone records for June 2009.  I am 100% certain a three way phone call took place between the attorney in my firm, the broker, and broker's client.  However there is no phone record that shows a phone call between all three individuals. .
    The first Verizon Customer is a local real estate broker with a West Palm Beach, Florida  phone number with a 561 area code.  The other Verizon Customer is the broker's client and was in CT on both 6/24 and 6/25.  The broker's cell phone records were reproduced by Verizon in 2014. I believe the client's cell phone records were reproduced by Verizon in 2013. The client has an 860 area code.  The law firm is in Palm Beach County with a 561 area code.  Any phone call from the law firm to the broker would be local and would only show up on the broker's cellphone record.  Any phone call from the law firm to the broker's client (who was not a client of the law firm) would be reflected in the law firm's long distance records.  There is no such phone call.  The broker's cell phone records show a 10 minute phone call between the broker and the law firm at 2:24 p.m on 6/24.  There is a 8 minute phone call from the broker to the law firm at 9:39 am on 6/25 and a 22 minute phone call from the law firm to the broker at 9:48 am.  The broker's cellphone record shows that during the 9:48 phone call the broker attempted to perform a 3 way call with the client at 10:04 and again at 10:05. Each attempt lasts just 1 minute and neither shows up on the client's cell phone records.  The phone call with the law firm and broker lasts an additional 4 minutes.
    The broker's and client's cell phone records show a 10/11 minute phone call on 6/25 depending on the record at 8:41 am.  There are numerous other phone calls between the broker and client on other days.
    If the broker called the client then called the law firm, then the initial phone call should be reflected in both Verizon invoices, and the 2nd call should be reflected in the broker's record.
    The same would be true if the client initiated the phone calls.
    If the broker called the law firm or law firm called the broker, then called the broker's client the phone call should be reflected in the law firm's long distance records and the client's records.  It is not. There is no documentation that shows the client was participating in a 3 way call.
    My question is why not?   Alternatively, is it possible for the 3 way call not to be reflected in the records?  I have the phone records of both customers. I also have the invoice number for the broker.  How can I find out if the broker added the client to any of the above calls.

        Hi papal74. I am sure that this is a situation in which these call records are extremely important. In order to provide additional information about these call records we would need to speak with you personally. Please give us a call at 800-922-0204. This way we can get down to the bottom of this.

  • Microsoft all ready has an update for Windows Phone 8.1 Verizon customers still don't have WP 8.1. UGH!

    Microsoft has all ready released an update to Windows Phone 8.1. Us Verizon customers don't even have WP 8.1. *** Verizon?  My contract with Verizon is up in November this is the tipping point.  I am not going to renew my contract.  I will just buy the phone out right and sign up for Straight Talk.  Then I don't need to have the "Nanny service provider (Verizon)" telling me when I am able to obtain a device update.  Thanks for nothing Verizon.

    On one side, I can understand that maybe (and that's a BIG maybe) Verizon wants to make sure they have enough data (pardon the pun) regarding the successful adaptation of the update for it's customers in order to make sure everything goes smoothly.  However, I find that Verizon likes to keep customers in the dark regarding time frames.  It's interesting to see on some of the similar titles message boards entries on this topic have Verizon monitors ready to wipe out entries if they violate terms of service on the forums.  But, when asked directly about time frames for Windows updates, you either get a link to some Verizon news page (which is of no help), or nothing at all.  A number of people called Verizon customer service and get varied answers like: "Sometime this summer", "Soon", or even an "I don't know, they don't even tell us either"...which is the answer I got one time.  Very discouraging.  I had a choice between the Windows Phone, or a Samsung Galaxy phone.  I chose Windows because of it's features.  Beginning to regret it now, since support for it on Verizon appears to be dismal at best.

  • Can you block your number for texting, so dont show in ppls phone record?

    usually in the phone record show the number who is text you and the phone you sent a message. But since a week a go don't show the number of the person, and I received tons of messages everyday, but  on my phone record of text messages don't reflect the phone number. Is a way you can block your number??? so dont registrer in the phone record?

        I understand the importance of viewing numbers in your message details hmaldonado. There is an option for individuals to block their number if it is restricted. What do you see on your phone for these messages you are referring to? Is this a number that is stored in your phonebook? Have you checked My Verizon online? Can you see calls from this person? What specific task are you trying to accomplish with this number? Here's how to access My Verizon. Select My Usage, then Usage details. http://bit.ly/xB4iTc

  • How to loop through a collection of records which is return value of func.

    Hi all.
    Have this situation:
    - Stored function (member of pkg procedure) that returns a collection of records.
    Package Spec:
    =========
    type tipo_pvt is table of s08_plan_venta_totalizado_r % rowtype;
    rc_pvt tipo_pvt;
    (s08_plan_venta_totalizado_r is a view).
    Package Body:
    =========
    select col1
    ,col2
    ,etc
    bulk collect into rc_pvt
    from s08_lista_precio_producto_r lpp
    ,s03_producto_r prd
    where condition;
    return rc_pvt;
    Once collection is loaded and returned (i know it loads records). I just want to loop through every record on a pl/sql procedure on the client (forms6i procedure), but it gives me the error: ORA-06531 Reference to uninitialized collection:
    On the forms6i client procedure i have something like:
    procedure p_carga_plan_venta_inv (p_id_plan_venta in number) is
    v_contador integer;
    v_mensaje varchar2(10);
    rc_pvt sk08_gestiona_plan_venta.tipo_pvt; (sk08_gestiona_plan_venta is package name)
    begin
         rc_pvt := sk08_gestiona_plan_venta.tipo_pvt();
         rc_pvt := sk08_gestiona_plan_venta.f_genera_plan_venta_inv (:pvv.lip_id_lista_precio
    ,:pvv.ems_id_sucursal
                                            ,:control4.v_metodo_calculo
    ,:pvv.unm_co_unidad_monetaria

    -- previous statement dos not fail BUT THIS:
    message('rc_pvt.count= '||rc_pvt.count);pause;
    DOES FAIL
    end;
    So my question is : since i have already returned the collection, how come is not initialized....?
    Do i have to extend it first? In this case i have to return the number of records in the collection.....
    Look what happen when done from sqlplus:
    declare
    rc_pvt sk08_gestiona_plan_venta.tipo_pvt;
    begin
    rc_pvt := sk08_gestiona_plan_venta.tipo_pvt();
    rc_pvt :=

    end;
    SQL> /
    Registros en la coleccion =6
    Procedimiento PL/SQL finalizado con éxito.
    SQL>
    I put a dbms_output.put_line on stored function .....
    Please help ....!
    Apparently it fails when calling the stored function:
    rc_pvt := sk08_gestiona_plan_venta.f_genera_plan_venta_inv (:pvv.lip_id_lista_precio
    ,:pvv.ems_id_sucursal
    ,:control4.v_metodo_calculo
    ,:pvv.unm_co_unidad_monetaria
    ,:pvp.fe_fin_periodo) ;
    I don't undestand since this function return the appropiate type. It seems the collection is empty, although having test that on sqlplus works ...
    rc_pvt := sk08_gestiona_plan_venta.f_genera_plan_venta_inv (:pvv.lip_id_lista_precio
    ,:pvv.ems_id_sucursal
    ,:control4.v_metodo_calculo

    ,p_tipo_nivel_inv in varchar2
    ,p_co_unidad_monetaria in varchar2
    ,p_fe_fin_periodo in date) return tipo_pvt;
    for some reason it works on plus:
    SQL> declare
    2 rc_pvt sk08_gestiona_plan_venta.tipo_pvt;
    3 begin
    4 rc_pvt := sk08_gestiona_plan_venta.tipo_pvt();

    Forms 6i is an antique ... write your code to run on the server.

  • Native Web Services and Collection of Records

    Hi
    I want to use XMLDB Native Web Services but one of my requirements is for the web service to pass in to Oracle a collection of records as a input parameter to the stored procedure.
    What is the best way to achieve this with Native Web Services ? A couple of options I can think of below, are there any others ?
    1. Create a stored procedure with an IN parameter defined as CLOB or XMLTYPE (which is best, does DBNWS work with XMLTYPE ?) and structure the XSD/XML to contain the required record structure. See below
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE test_using_xml (
    p_xmlin IN XMLTYPE,
    p_xmlout OUT XMLTYPE) AS
    BEGIN
    BLAH, BLAH, BLAH;
    END;
    2. Define TYPES as below
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE MEMBER_REC AS OBJECT
    (FIRST_NAME VARCHAR2(10),
    LAST_NAME VARCHAR2(10));
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE MEMBER_TAB AS TABLE OF MEMBER_REC;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE MEMBER_TAB_OBJ AS OBJECT (DUMMY MEMBER_TAB);
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE get_quote (
    p_members IN MEMBER_TAB_OBJ) AS
    BEGIN
    NULL;
    END;
    Thanks

    This is what we ended up using, creating complex object types. Seems to work quite well. The object also is effective your SOA Contract which is quite nice.
    The generated WSDL is reasonably straight forward and logical apart from a few naming quirks.
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE MEMBER_REC_IN AS OBJECT
    (PERSON_NUMBER CHAR(2),
    RELATIONSHIP_CODE CHAR(1),
    FIRST_NAME VARCHAR2(10),
    LAST_NAME VARCHAR2(10),
    GENDER CHAR(1),
    DATE_OF_BIRTH DATE);
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE MEMBER_REC_OUT AS OBJECT
    (PERSON_NUMBER CHAR(2),
    API NUMBER);
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE MEMBER_TAB_IN AS TABLE OF MEMBER_REC_IN;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE MEMBER_TAB_OUT AS TABLE OF MEMBER_REC_OUT;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE GET_QUOTE_SUBMIT_OBJ AS OBJECT (MESSAGE_GUID VARCHAR2(2000),
    EFFECTIVE_DATE DATE,
    PRODUCT_CODE VARCHAR2(12),
    GROUP_ID VARCHAR2(12),
    ADDRESS_LINE1 VARCHAR2(50),
    ADDRESS_LINE2 VARCHAR2(50),
    CITY VARCHAR2(50),
    COUNTRY VARCHAR2(50),
    POSTCODE VARCHAR2(10),

    QUOTE_NUMBER NUMBER,
    API NUMBER,
    FAMILY MEMBER_TAB_OUT,
    RESULT_CODE NUMBER,
    RESULT_DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(2000));
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE get_quote (
    p_quote_in IN GET_QUOTE_SUBMIT_OBJ,
    p_quote_out OUT GET_QUOTE_RESPONSE_OBJ) AS
    BEGIN
    -- Initiliase the record
    p_quote_out := GET_QUOTE_RESPONSE_OBJ(NULL,NULL,NULL,MEMBER_TAB_OUT(),NULL,NULL);
    p_quote_out.message_guid := p_quote_in.message_guid;
    p_quote_out.quote_number := 123456;
    p_quote_out.api := 999.99;
    -- Loop thru the members passed in
    FOR idx IN 1..p_quote_in.family.count LOOP
    -- Extend the array
    p_quote_out.family.EXTEND(1);
    -- Initiliase the record

  • Phone Recording app

    I would like to install an app for phone recording on my Skype or other phone facility that exists on my iPhone
    Do you know of any such app ?
    There seems to be no phone recording on any smartphone I know. Or is there any smartphone with this function ?

    My friend bought an android phone for $89 only and he can record the calls.
    I wonder : what is the use of spending more than half grand on a phone, which does not provide basic function of call recording.
    If this is so important to you, it sounds like you should have acquired another phone. iPhones have lacked this feature by design for over 3 years - you should have done due diligence research before purchase. No device can or should be all things to all people.
    The fact is that the VAST majority of iPhone owners don't consider call recording to be a "basic function" of a cell phone.
    _*Apple themselves and the other apps develepors should develop free apps for recording the calls as soon as possible.*_
    As already explained in this thread:
    1. 3rd party apps are not allowed access to core functions of the phone, and can't provide this capability.
    2. This forum is strictly a user-to-user tech support site. Apple doesn't read these posts. Also, discussion of Apple policies and decisions is prohibited by the forum Terms of Use.

    Without "pretending" to be yourself on the other phone (change settings) there's nothing else you can do.
    iOS devices are meant to be single user and can't view iCloud.com the same way a Mac or PC can do.
    You need to find a desktop or laptop machine (Mac or PC) to log in at iCloud.

  • Opening cursor to collection of records?

    Hi,
    I am researching an issue at work, and I wanted to see if any of you knew whether or not what I'm attempting to do is possible.
    Essentially, what we have is a large number of stored procedures that return data in the form of OUT parameters. If there is more than 1 row, the procedures return a special integer, and the client code (a Java process) repeatedly calls the procedure until it gets all of the data.
    We want to convert these procedures so that they return a result set (i.e., they will
    return a reference cursor variable.) However, we'd rather not work directly with the procedures themselves. What we were hoping to do was develop a set of "proxy" procedures. Java calls these proxies, which call the original procedures, accumulating all the data. Then, the proxy opens a cursor to the final data set, so that in terms of network accesses, there is a single Java-side network access, and multiple local accesses on the Oracle end of things.
    The problem is, I'm not sure that we can return a cursor to the data. What follows are the issues:
    First, we can't open a cursor to the original function calls (AFAIK.) We have to somehow get all of the data from the function into the proxy, and open a cursor to that in the form of a SELECT on all of the data (from SYS.DUAL, or some similar method.)
    So, I decided that maybe the answer was to use a collection. Logically, I thought it best to create a RECORD data type, with a pseudo-column for each of the OUT parameters in the original function call. Then, I created a nested table of these records. I call the original function from the proxy, populating this collection of records with all of the data. That works fine. However, I thought it would be relatively straightforward to open a cursor to this collection, using i.e.:
    OPEN ref_cursor FOR
    SELECT * FROM TABLE(CAST(my_collection_variable AS my_collection_table_type));
    (Or some variant of that.) Unfortunately, it is not. This results in an Oracle error, when I actually open the
    cursor:
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [15419], [severe error during PL/SQL
    execution], [], [], [], [], [], []
    ORA-06544: PL/SQL: internal error, arguments: [pfrrun.c:pfrbnd1()], [], [], [],
    ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [0]
    ERROR:
    ORA-24338: statement handle not executed
    After some research, I found that I could not define the nested table at the PL/SQL level (All of these functions live in packages.) It had to be defined at the database SQL level. So I created a nested table of NUMBER variables at the SQL level (from within sqlplus), tested opening a cursor to that, and everything worked fine.
    Then, I hit the next snag. I can't define the RECORD type at the SQL level, and I can't reference it from the nested table definition (which is defined at the SQL level) when it is defined at the PL/SQL level. This is the error for that:
    1/29 PLS-00201: identifier 'REF_TYPES.FUND_RT' must be declared
    (Where FUND_RT is a RECORD declared in package REF_TYPES.)
    See below for the SQL scripts.
    So, I would have to create literally hundreds of nested tables of VARCHAR2's, NUMBER's, etc., for each OUT parameter at the database level for this approach to work, which is not feasible.
    Does anyone know of a work around for this situation? Is there a way to access a RECORD type defined at the package level, from within a SQL-level nested table
    definition? Is there a way to accomplish what seems like a very simple task that I'm somehow missing?
    Thank you,
    Gabriel Weinstock
    SQL to create the record type, executed first from sqlplus:
    conn owner/password
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE ref_types
    AS
    TYPE ref_cursor IS REF CURSOR;
    TYPE fund_rt IS RECORD
    ( var1 NUMBER,
    var2 VARCHAR2,
    var3 DATE );
    END;
    grant execute on owner.ref_types to public;
    ** ("owner" is the owner of the table-- is that a problem? I tried "owner.REF_TYPES.fund_rt" and that didn't work either). **
    Next, to create the collection, which generates an error, the following script is called from sqlplus:
    conn owner/password;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE fund_tab_t AS TABLE OF ref_types.fund_rt;
    Error, see above:
    1/29 PLS-00201: identifier 'REF_TYPES.FUND_RT' must be declared

    I agree with Stephen as well that given more time a rewrite of the stored procedures would be optimal.
    Todd-- thanks for the answer. What had me baffled was that I don't think you can define a record at the SQL level, but an object is acceptable. Is that correct?
    However, this raises more issues. I'm not sure management is going to go head over heels for all of these anonymous objects defined at the SQL level, not belonging to any package, so, as I looked further, I think I might have to use a "pipelined function". Which will mean one function calls the original stored procedure, and gathers up all the data into a collection of records. Then, it returns that collection. A second (!) function, opens a ref cursor for a SELECT that includes the returned collection from the first function.
    This way, nothing has to be defined at the SQL level, and I can do everything in the package. (I'll probably eat my words on that.)
    It definitely is NOT pretty, but it might be the way things turn out for an interim solution.

  • A Verizon cellphone tower in my area is feeding multiple Verizon Customers / Devices with the incorrect time (one hour behind) when we are in range of this tower

    A Verizon cellphone tower in my area is feeding multiple Verizon Customers / Devices with the incorrect time (one hour behind) when we are in range of this tower (in this specific area).   Our phones show the correct time in other areas.   Is there a way to fix or report this?

    The zip code that this is occurring in is: 87102
    Specifically when I am at
    1001 Woodward Pl NE
    Albuquerque, NM 87102
    Upon further investigation, it is happening to anyone with a Verizon handset, regardless of specific device.  I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and my co-worker has a Motorola Droid Turbo and we are both having the issue.  Anyone on a different carrier (T-Mobile, AT&T) is fine, and is not experiencing this issue.
    It actually looks like the cell tower is feeding us the correct time, but its like it forgot daylight savings happened.  So it is feeding us the incorrect time zone/day light savings information.
    When I goto Settings -> Date and Time on my Android device,  I have both "Automatic date and time" and "Automatic time zone" checked.
    the "Automatic timezone" it is pulling from the Verizon cell tower is "Mountain -7".   It is correct that we are in the "Mountain" timezone, but we are currently "Mountain -6" (also known as day light savings).   So the Cell Tower things it MST when it should be MST DST
    When I uncheck "Automatic time zone" and select my own, suddenly it lets me select "Mountain -6" and doesn't even give me the option of "Mountain -7".
    So in conclusion, some cell tower in the area of zip code 87102 forgot that daylight savings ever happened, and is telling cellphones they are in the "Mountain -7" timezone, instead of the correct current timezone of "Mountain -6 DST"
    Edit: Oh, sorry, and to answer your question, it began happening about 3 weeks ago.  We started noticing around March 25th, maybe a little after that.

  • I will be in Italy.  I want to text or call other verizon customers in the US.

    I will be in Italy.  I want to text or call other Verizon customers in the US. How do I do this, what are the charges?  I have unlimited texting.  What if the Verizon customers I call are on my phone plan?
