NSAPI plug-in configuration
We have WLS51sp9 cluster with NES41 plug-in. When we configured obj.conf we put
cluster objects at the end of the file. Is this correct and should it make any
difference if we put it under default object. Also do we need libroxy.so from
WLS51sp9 or we can use it from other versions?
Thanks,
Gene
If I remember correctly, good to put it under default object. It is safe to
copy libproxy.so from wl51sp9....

Does NSAPI plug-in route the T3 requests to WLS?
Hi,
In our deployment, we use IPlanet witn NSAPI plug-in for web
server and WLS as application server. It works fine for browser
clients.
If we want to add Java Swing application clients, which use T3
to talk to WLS what changes are required for the same
configuration to work? Does the plu-in route the T3 requests to
WLS in the first place? What changes are required if so?

1)add "weblogic.httpd.tunnelingenabled=true" to your weblogic.properties

Multiple Apache-Weblogic plug-in configurations for the same host
Hi BEA,
I have a situation where I have more than one weblogic server/cluster both using
the same Apache to proxy. Reading the Apache plug-in configuration I gather that
below should work. In Apache (httpd.conf):
<Location /path1>
SetHandler weblogic-handler
WeblogicHost app1
WeblogicPort 7001
</Location>
<Location /path2>
SetHandler weblogic-handler
WeblogicHost app2
WeblogicPort 7001
</Location>
In this case the later Location of the two works fine and the other seems like
it is just not there. (If the two are switched the other works fine...) The thing
is that, if possible, I would like to avoid splitting the two locations onto two
different VirtualHosts (which works).
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this and still avoid the use of multiple
VirtualHost-definitions?
Is it due to a limitation in Apache module architecture that the configuration
above does not work or is it a design choice in the plug-in?
//GG
Gunnar,
I would post this Apache proxy plug in question to the
weblogic.developer.interest.plug-in forum

How to make redirects work with NSAPI plug-in
We have a NSAPI plug-in on a Iplanet server which routes any URL request with "weblogic"
on it to a WebLogic server with a PathTrim. eg. http://ksopsd01/weblogic/myapp/login.jsp.
All my forwards are working fine except any redirection. My redirects fails
as it does not have the "weblogic" in it. Is there anyting like PathPrepend to
get my redirects working? Or do I need to hardcode "weblogic" in all my redirections.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Using NSAPI Plug-In from WL 5.1 in conjunction with WL6.0

What kind of problems you are having? I just ran a simple load test
accessing servlets/jsp's via nsapi plugin.
Could you tell us how we can reproduce your problem?

NSAPI Plug-In For WebLogic 8.1
I am having some problems authenticating in WebLogic 8.1 when passing Novell I-Chain
headers through a IPlanet proxy. Authentication works fine when passing the headers
directly to WebLogic, but it seems as though WebLogic cannot recognize the request
when passed through the NSAPI proxy plug-in. Any suggestions?Small bug, simple answer:
The NSAPI proxy plugin converts any headers passed to it into lowercase. Make
sure the authenticator is looking for the correct case-sensitive string. -
NSAPI plug-in and request.getRemoteAddr
Hi,
we are using the NSAPI plugin (6.1sp5) on an iPlanet webserver. It
seems that what we get from request.getRemoteAddr is the IP of the
webserver. I would have expected the IP of the client instead.
So what I would like to have confirmed is: I am right to expect the
client IP instead of the webserver IP? I mean I would have thoght his
was the reason to use a pluing not just proxying.
Second have anyone else expirience with this? Is it a know bug?
Best regards,
ThorOki - just for the record...
It was a configuration problem in our WebLogic server. To get the
client ip transferred correctly you need to set
"WeblogicPluginEnabled" on the Server element in config.xml.
Obvious one would say afterwards :)

NSAPI Plug-in problems for WLS 6.1 SP4 on Solaris 8
I recently upgraded our dev weblogic 6.1 to SP4. Around the same time, the
netscape plugin inexplicably starts to behave differently.
I have the following configuration lines in the obj.conf file
<Object name="test" ppath="*/apps/*">
Service fn=wl_proxy WebLogicHost=appserver.mycompany.com WebLogicPort=7001
</Object>
I did not configure the plugin to proxy by mime type.
But no matter what I put in the url, it automatically gets proxied to
appserver host.
I tried:
http://web.mycompany.com/index.html - I see the WebLogic Index page instead
of the default Netscape Webserver home page.
http://web.mycompany.com/test/test.jsp - I see the test jsp page, even
though it is not a path that I configured to proxy over to weblogic.
Anybody experience this before?
TIA,
JohnThanks for your response.
The plugin inexplicably starts to work again after several days
without changes to obj.conf file but the webserver was restarted.
However, when I first spotted the problem, I restarted the webserver several
times with no visible effect on the problem. I need to trace this
and see if I can duplicate the problem again, but for now, the
problem has gone away.

This may be a netscape issue since, from what you are saying, the weblogic
plugin gets invoked on any request.
The only time the plugin gets invoked is if it goes into the object tag.
Can you paste your full obj.conf?
Thanks,
Eric

Netweaver Developer Studio 7.0 - Problems with MI Plug-in Configuration
Hi,
I installed the NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0.11 and have problem when configuring the MI Plugin. The configuration page does not save the settings and then it just doesn't show any fields in the screen. Does anyone has the same problem?Any ideas? Thanks in advance.Hello Jon,
I agree, but 2 GB RAM is sufficient to run the NWDS efficiently, consider the following points to increase its performance.
1. Tweak your eclipse.ini : This will increase the memory usage of Eclipse, but will give you the best startup and working performance. If you think eclipse is using up too much memory, lower the Xms, Xmx and PermSize values.
-startupplugins\org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.101.R34x_v20080819.jar--launcher.XXMaxPermSize256m-vmargs -Xms256m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:+AggressiveOpts-XX:+StringCache-XX:+UseFastAccessorMethods-XX:+UseLargePages-XX:LargePageSizeInBytes=4m-XX:AllocatePrefetchLines=1-XX:AllocatePrefetchStyle=1-Dide.gc=true
2. Disable the un-necessary startup plugins
It loads up certain (un-necessary) plugins at startup. We can tweak this a bit to improve the startup performance.
Go to Window > Preferences
Expand General and select Startup and Shutdown
On the right side, uncheck the plugins you don't want to start. Usually, you can uncheck all of them. Don't worry, it just makes the startup minimal. Once you need to access the module in the IDE, it will start it up.
Click OK and restart IDE.

Hi
1. You do NOT write any code for Session Replication. Its not worth trying also though possible in extreme ways.
2. Session Replication means, I guess if you have more then one server like a Clustered Domain. For this you just create a Clustered Domain with one Admin Server and more then one managed servers. Then you add some load balancer infront of this cluster like Apache HTTP Server. All your requests go to apache which redirects to back end weblogic server. It will do load balancing, failover, session replication. There is absolutely nothing to do or configure. By default session should be replicated across all the servers in the cluster.

Sun Java 7.0: How to increase the value of
Hi everyone,
In Sun Java 6.1 and former webservers there used to be certain parameters in magnus.conf file like:-
RqThrottle 128
DNS off
Security off
PidLog /export/agent6/amit_server/https-server1/logs/pid
User agent6
StackSize 131072
TempDir /tmp/https-server1-0430e9ef
But in the new web server Sun Java 7.0 there are no such parametes.
The application which i am running needs to increase the value of the parameter "StackSize".
I added this parameter in magnus.conf file of the new Sun Java 7.0 web server but it is ignoring it and giving a warning as "StackSize directive ignored".
Can you all suggest some way by which i can increase the StackSize as my application doesn't run without it.In WS 7.0 TP release, the magnus.conf configuration file is retained for NSAPI plug-in configuration, but all functionality not related to NSAPI plug-ins has been moved to server.xml. Most of these configuration parameters are now new elements that will be created/defined in server.xml. For StackSize, I believe the server.xml will have an element like follows:
<stack-size>131072</stack-size>
where 131072 is the stack size in bytes. You should be able to configure using GUI or the admin CLI.
Thanks
Manish
