NSeries PC Suite... Why??

Just out of curiosity... What's the point of the NSeries PC Suite?? From using it, seems to have less functionality than the regular version...

  • Nokia PC Suite vs Nseries PC Suite.

    Hi All,
I am regular user of Nokia PC Suite, when i came across N Series PC Suite, i thought of trying to use N Series PC Suite too. I just wanna know the more detailed Information technically what are the major differences between these two also which is better, as my phone is a N Series handset. I am amazed to see that Nseries PC Suite dont have an option to send Messages whereas in Nokia PC Suite messages can be sent. If Nseries PC Suite is better why even such an important feature which is available in Nokia PC suite is not there in Nseries PC Suite? May be like these reasons, people are continuing with Nokia PC Suite instead of Nseries PC Suite. One more thing i heard ( Not sure if it is true or not) that by updating Phone Software thru NSU, data wont be erased? Is it true, because i dont want to lose my data on my phone but i want to update my phone software on my handset. I can't fully rely on Content Copier too, as i have seen so many posts related to NSU/ Backup and Restore options. So if its true that my data wont be erased while updating my phone software thru NSU, i will be happy to update my phone software. Expecting some positive posts from anyone of you !

Nseries PC Suite is based on the same core PC Suite, but with a slightly different look and feel + some original PC Suite applications overriden/replaced or removed with new ones (e.g., in favour of Lifeblog).
NSeries PC Suite does not automatically preseve your phone's data from updating the firmware any better than the "regular" PC Suite does.

  • Nseries pc suite connection wizard?

i try and connect my n95 8g to nseries pc suite but when i get to typing the passcode in my phone to pair with the laptop it says error could not antheticater to device, why is this?
    Liam

    Hi,
Did you use same passcode in PC and Phone?
Anyway, if you use same passcode in both side and problem happen...try this:
Open phone's Bluetooth application and remove paired devices from there and try again. Does it help?

  • Whats latest version of nseries pc suite?

    what version is it?
My beta labs version of nseries pc suite works fine apart from when I check for updates for the pc suite itself and it comes up with"THERE WAS A PROBLEM COMMUNICATING WITH THE NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATE SERVER PLEASE VERIFY YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION"
Even though I try and turn firewall off it still wont check for updates anymore.
    Liam

    Hi Liam182,
As per i know, current version of beta available in the betalabs is 2.0.162 i guess...Whereas in the Nokia Support pages, NSeries PC Suite version avialable is 1.6.....Nokia PC Suite (Normal) is 6.85.14.1....By the way may i know some more details about your connection and PCs....Thanks

  • Nokia Life Blog Nokia Photos and Nseries PC Suite...

    Hi
    I'm a power user and own N95.
I try to install almost all available applications on PC related to my mobile.
So I installed PC Suite 7 and using the same successfully.
But now I installed Nokia Photos (latest name of Nokia Life Blog, as they say). The same installed correctly, but when I run it, it gives the error on the splash screen itself (something like "Nokia Photos has encountered a problem and needs to close").
I've tried uninstalling, then rebooting, and then reinstalling/repairing etc.
    2. When I try to install NSeries PC Suite (after exiting-- not uninstalling-- normal PC Suite V7), I get some error in the end of installation: "NNPCSUI has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    Any clue?
Wish#1: MP3 Tag Editor capable of editing ratings.
Wish#2: Android type Video player, highly efficient player capable of playing all formats.
Wish#3: Without Google Maps (and products), no gadget is worth keeping.

    Hi zopfan,
Could you please confirm your PC details??? What all you have uninstalled already from your PC? You have informed that you have uninstalled Nokia NSeries PC Suite? So you can decide which applications you are going to use? If you want to send SMS and contact editor please do stick with Nokia PC Suite 7.0.7.0 or you can install Nokia NSeries PC suite on your PC or you can also install Nokia OVI Suite too. As far as i know, you can have both the PC suites on your PC without any issues. To resolve your issue, you can uninstall Nokia PC Suite, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, Run some reliable PC Suite cleaner, which will clean unwanted registried from your PC. Then you install any of the three PC Suite
    Nokia PC Suite 7.0.7.0 or
Nokia NSeries PC Suite 2.0.262.0 or
Nokia OVI Suite 1.0 depending on your need.
Then try to install Nokia Photos on your PC reboot the system and then try :0 You can follow in the same discussion forum for your nokia photos and lifeblog issues, as some of the issues were discussed already in this forum, or google and check for the posts related to Nokia photos and nokia lifeblog

  • NSeries PC Suite problems

I have correctly installed NNSPCS 2.0.262.0 on Windows XP SP2.
I connect my N95-8GB v20.0.016 through bluetooth and it is recognized by PC Suite.
When I click on "Esplora il tuo dispositivo Nokia" ( that is "Explore your Nokia device" in italian), it opens a window that displays all my pc's resources, but not my N95 !
And I don't find any utility for managing sms and sms.
    Please help.

The Nseries PC suite doesn't have the full ability to manage SMS messages.
You need to install the full PC Suite which is also much better than the Nseries version.
    www.nokia.com/pcsuite
Installing this version may also solve your connection issues.

  • NSeries PC Suite 2.0 on Support Pages

    Hi All,
The most awaited Nseries PC Suite 2.0 is already on support pages of Nokia NSeries and discussion of these forums has been started in various forums....Have anyone installed this on your PC...Please do find the link where it was discussed...

It's been available in beta form from nokia beta labs for months and it isn't very good (in my opinion).
I prefer to use normal pc suite.
Both versions can be installed on the same PC. Give it a try and see what you think about it.

  • Nseries PC Suite cant run on Vista

    Hello, Nokia!
    Nokia N81 8GB
    Sony VGN-FZ11SR
    Windows Vista Home Premium
Nseries PC Suite - latest version 1.6
    1) I installed Nseries PC Suite from CD, run NSLauncher and it's work good. But after restart of windows NSLauncher can't run and no process running in task manager and there is no icon of pc suite in the tray.
    So what's happend after restart?
Then I try to reinstall Nseries PC Suite, and get same problem - first time works good, after restart dont work.
    Then I go http://www.nseries.com/index.html#l=support,downloads,nseriespcsuite,download
    and download webinstaller_1.6.exe
This installer update nseries pc suite and then NSLauncher RUN! But after restart I press shortcut Nokia Nseries PC Suite and NOTHING HAPPEND!
What's wrong? How can I start this program?
Sorry for bad english, I am from Russia
    N81 8GB

It runs fine on vista home premium 32bit for me.
    Try version 2.0: www.nokia.com/betalabs/nseriespcsuite
Or install pc suite 6.85 instead: www.nokia.com/pcsuite
I prefer standard pc suite instead of the n series pc suite, try them both.
If neither work you have a software problem with your computer.

  • N82 Edit contacts via Nseries PC Suite

    Can anyone help?
I have an N82, which came with a copy of Nokia Nseries PC Suite. I have copied all my contacts over from my Sony Erickson via the simple copy to sim and then onto the N82.
Problem that arises here is that all the contact names have a '/1' or '/2' or '/3' and some names get cut short.
So I would like to be able to easily edit all the contacts on the PC rather than the phone. Doesn't seem to be any options in the Nseries PC suite!
Is there a way, and what is it?
P.S. It would also be nice to be able to compose txt's on the PC - is there a way to do this?

These features are not in the N-series and Ovi Suites, for that you need the standard version.

  • New Nseries PC Suite 2.0

Where is Nokia headed with the new Nseries PC Suite?
In the previous 1.0 version, I noticed many apps are missing. No contacts management, SMS app, not even their own photo downloading app. It seems like the product "isn't ready", but it was distributed in the box with the new N95 8GB.
Ok, 2.0 is here. Nokia Photo is now included, which I suppose is what you use to download photos from the phone. But it looks quite like Nokia Lifeblog, and yet Lifeblog is still included. Is Nokia Photo going to replace Lifeblog?
Previously, after downloading all the photos, I can have the photos on my phone deleted automatically. I don't seem to find such a setting with Nokia Photo. Any ideas?

Content Copier used to throw me an error immediately when I try to start a backup. That was version 1. Version 2.0 works fine.

  • Nseries PC Suite Problem

I have alwasy used Nokia PC suite without any problem, then i found the Nokia NSeries PC suite and was excited to try it out, but when I completly removed the old pc suite and installed the Nseries suite I got some problems. When connecting my phone either by usb mode or by bluetooth, I get an error when openning or copying files from my phone to my pc, which says access is denied, or sometimes it says, the The current device is busy, please wait for any other transfers to or from the device to complete and try again.
I have an n82 and my pc is running Windows Vista 32-bit .

When uninstalling the normal pc suite I go to the add/remove programs and remove everything nokia. Then I restart my computer and then only install the new Nseries pc suite, and it pairs by bluetooth find and i can browse the files but when there is a heavily populated folder like inside images, it loads the first two and then stops with an error saying, the drive is busy, finish all transfers to and from the phone first and then try again. Not exactly in those words but close enough. same thing while using the usb cable.

  • Cannot install NSeries PC Suite at all!

    Hello
I'm new to Nokia software - I guess I am in for a long ride.
I have an HP Pavillion 2530ea running Vista Home (no service packs).
I have tried to install the PC Suite on the provided disk and from the web site here (v6.85) and in both cases, whatever I choose to install (everything to minimum install), it returns "failed" in friendly red letters with no error message.
Even when I connect my N82 to the the machine by USB it isn't recognised.
I also tried to install the provided software on my Windows XP machine, but that didn't work because it doesn't have SP2 (my machine HATES SP2).
Does anyone have any alternative suggestions? Anything???
    Thanks!!!
    Mark

    Hello
Well, I have had some progress. I recently installed all the updates for Vista and the PC Suite now installs on the laptop. I still can't connect via USB though. There is a generic "There is a problem with the driver" message in the Device Manager and installing the driver from the website returns a "The installed driver is newer than this one" and I can't seem to be able to force it to load.
So, being up to date with all your upgrades seems to be the solution. Both machines are 32 bit - the phone is UK/O2.
Had I realised quite how non-useful the PC Suite was I probably wouldn't have bothered installing it. I was hoping for something to downscale video so it was suitable for the phone, perhaps some extra software such as a text editor, more games etc.
More importantly, I was hoping that by now manufacturers as big as Nokia would have introduced a PC based method for configuring the phone. Rather than going through all the menu options on the phone, why not do it on the PC. Also, a dictionary editor, menu organiser, rules editor. If any of these exist please could someone let me know.
    Thanks for the help

  • CS5 Master Suite - why so many serial keys?

I just installed CS5 Master Suite.
After registering my product code, I was given keys for:
    CS5 Master Suite
    Acrobat Pro 9
    After Effects CS5 Color Finesse
    Creative Suite 4 Production Premium
    After Effects CS4 Color Finesse
The only keys i've been asked for are the first two.
An Internet search has mentioned Color Finesse is a plugin for After Effects. I've looked on the discs, but do not see this anywhere.
Even if I did find it...why would I want the filter/plugin for both CS4 and CS5?
Also...I noticed a folder on the third disk (CONTENT) that had a lot of fonts. But no other programs like the above. Just manuals.
    Thank you for your help.

    Greetings J.,
This is explained by a few points:
    1. Adobe Acrobat 9 is bundled separately from the rest of CS5 (likely for easier upgradability to Acrobat X).
    2. Complimentary versions of some CS4 products are included with CS5, in support of those customers who are still on 32-bit platforms...  But obviously if you a have 64-bit computer, you don't need to use them.
    3. As for Color Finesse, there's more on the After Effects help page about that.
Hope this helps explain things... if you have further questions, see Adobe's Creative Suite FAQ.

  • NSeries PC Suite 2.0 - Music Manger install preven...

Hi I have encounterd a very annoying problem with Nseries PCSuite 2.0, specifically on Vista 64.
Basically when I install it, the drivers for Windows Portable Device are not loaded unless I install the old pcsuite ( 6.86 ) first, uninstall then reinstall 2.0.
It seems to be linked to the PC Connectivty X64 driver that gets loaded when you install the music manager. If I do not install the music manager I do not get an issue.
The driver is important as I cannot browse my phone without it loading. It does not appear in explorer, nor is the driver appearing under portable devices in the windows device manager.
This is a very annoying bug, is this a known issue?

It's been available in beta form from nokia beta labs for months and it isn't very good (in my opinion).
I prefer to use normal pc suite.
Both versions can be installed on the same PC. Give it a try and see what you think about it.
