NSS 322 not accessible on my network, only Tonky ...?
Hello experts,
I have just installed my new NSS 322. (Great! Just bought it and just discovered Cisco is dropping it - so much for rewarding shareholder loyalty). Anyway, I expected to see NSS 322 (set to Raid 1) on my network (as per the NSLU2). But it's not there. I can access the NSS 322 using the webserver without problem. I am using windows (7 and XP) on my network. I presume I have not set it up correctly (although the workgroup name is correct - it's just that there's nothing I can copy the files to).
Could anyone out there help a damsel in distress, please?
Thank you.
Nicola
Regan,
I'm happy to hear that the issue was resolved. Cisco will continue to provide support for one year from the date of purchase as usual through the Small Business Support Center. The hardware warranty will be honored for five years from the date of purchase as well.
The NSS300 devices are manufactured by QNAP. QNAP will continue to update the firmware and provide support for Cisco customers that convert to the QNAP firmware. QNAP is constantly adding features to these devices and works very hard to make noticeable improvements to the functionality. You can find more information about the transition process at the following page: http://www.qnap.com/cisco.asp Note: It is not possible to revert back to the Cisco firmware once the QNAP firmware has been loaded.
My understanding is that QNAP provides excellent support and they also have a well established community forum which makes it very easy to find answers quickly.

Cisco NSS 322 not staying connected to Active Directory.
Hello,
We recently deployed a NSS 322 in our office, and connected it to our windows 2003 domain controller (running as a VM). It seems every morning that i need to log into the NSS 322 and reconnect to the active directory (Network Services -> Microsoft Networking). After i do this, everyone is able to connect to the shares on the NSS 322.
Just to add, we do not have any issues during the day with the active directory authentication, it seems to only occur over night when no one is using the shares.
Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening, or any solutions to resolve or minimize its occurrence.
Cheers,
Walter.Hi,
Please maske sure you are running on the latest firmware 1.3.0.5 .(always make sure data is backed up)
Make sure write cache is disabled.(since it's VM)
Make sure the NSS time is pointed back to your PDC
We have a couple VM running 08 Server; hadn't run into any issues.
If this doesn't fix your issue, please call in for support 1-866-606-1866
Thanks,

Can I make Virtual Host accessible to local network only?
On our web server (with only one interface and IP address), we have two virtual hosts:
-An intranet site which should not be viewed by general public.
-A public website accessible by general public over the internet.
How do I ensure that our web server only serves the intranet site to the local 192.168.0.0/16 network, whilst still allowing anyone to view the public website?Quick thoughts. You can handle this a few ways. Here are two fast ones.
You can just use the host name and order your virtual hosts public first, private second. Then make sure that the URL for the public site is the only one on you public DNS. For example, if you have two VHs, www.yourdomain.com and wiki.yourdomain.com. Then on the public DNS servers, create a record for the www host only. That way, if the wiki host is entered outside of the environment, it will not resolve to an address. Now if you are using wildcards on the outside, then this may cause some issues and I can not predict this early in the morning if the wildcard would resolve to the primary VH or pass the URL in the header.
So the other option is to modify the directory container within the virtual host file. For example, your VH file has a Directory container that probably looks something like this.
<Directory "/Library/WebServer/Documents">
Options All -Includes -ExecCGI -Indexes +MultiViews
AllowOverride None
<IfModule mod_dav.c>
DAV Off
</IfModule>
</Directory>
And to it the following:
order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from 192.168
This will restrict access the to the 192.168 subnet. Refine it more if needed to 192.168.0 etc.
Hope this helps -
HT1976 why is my iphone 4 does not have cellular data network only cellular data
why is my iphone 4 does not have a cellular data network and apn only cellular data without apn settings, thanks
# Settings > Refresh apps on background. I would suggest to completely turn that off
# Settings > Privacy > Location tracking > Only Maps, Google Maps are allowed to use location tracking in my case, you could also turn that off completely or be very selective which apps can use your GPS.
# Settings > E-mail, calendar .. >deselect 'Push' and set it to either Fetch e.g. once an hour for all separate e-mail accounts you have. In your case you could set it to Manual so you won't use any data as long as you won't open your E-mail app and manually download e-mails.
It could also be that there is still an app running in the background as i had. See also this post.
In that case you need to dive into the Settings > General > Info > Diagnostics and Use >
Diagnostics and Use >logs per app to determine which app isn't closed although you turned off your phone (or even in my case reset to factory settings without backup). It's unfortunately pretty hard to find the app that is causing this. Therefore i wish Apple would come up with a better solution for this to see which processes/app(s) should be killed (now the best solution is removing the app completely). -
"could not scan for wireless networks" iphone6 or iOS 8?
new iPhone 6 with iOS 8. Wifi works fine for a few hours and then drops. The wifi connect screen sits there spinning and if I attempt a manual connecation I get the message:
"could not scan for wireless networks"
Only solution so far has been rebooting.
No issues with older devices and iOS 8. Just the iPhone 6.
As this issue seems to come out every time Apple release new hardware I am hoping it's just a bug that will be squashed and as such wanted to bring it up on the forums. Will also report to support.Hi Uncle Ook,
From what I've read, other iPhone 6 users have experience this issue too. I've read that by doing these steps it may help resolve your issue:
Open Settings
General
Reset
Reset Network Settings
Enter your Passcode if prompted
Tap Reset Network Settings
What this will do is reset your network settings. By doing this we'll reset any issues to default settings that'll help fix your issue by setting the network settings to default settings.
You'll see a series of different screens. This is normal. Just wait until it's completely done. You'll know when it's done when it takes you to the lock screen. You'll need to unlock your iPhone after that and try reconnecting to your wireless network that you were attempting to join. I'm not sure however that these steps will help permanently or temporarily, but I'm sure Apple will fix this issue within the next update that comes out. I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask. -

The system cannot find the file specified
I have tried from so many forms. This is so frustrating. Thank for everyone/anyone who wants to help. So this is what happened: I had to uninstall my previous sqlserver 2012(which worked great) for some reason, and I uninstalled everything from that download.
Then I installed the trial edition of sql server 2012 (64 Bit) and It wouldn't connect to the database. (Error mentioned above.) My local DB is COWBOYS. (COWBOYS is also my computer name.) After this, I have tried downloading sqlexpress and sqlserver 64bit
many times and cannot connect to my local DB.
How do I connect to my Local DB?
Also, I think this might help: (When I run sqlserve.exe, which I was able to find in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\LocalDB\Binn, I get an error: Your SQL server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with(Error getting
instance ID from name). Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.
I would happily re install it, if it wasn't my 20th time.
I don't have any remote connections, I don't use username/password, only window authentication. I work mostly on visual studio, but without able to store /retrieve data, I don't know how to survive.
May be the solution is very simple, but I am too frustrated.
Some of the things I have tried:
From a command prompt, enter one of the following commands:
net start "SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER)" OR
net start "SQL Server Agent(instancename)"(for instance)
on my sql configuration, I cannot start anything because there is nothing there to start. I can post more details, if that would help. Also, some more details about the error:

Any one that can help me, I will be greatful. Thank you so much. p.s. please ask me anything if you have any questions. It sounds like there are a couple things going on here. First check if you have a successful install of SQL Server, then we'll figure out the connection issues.
Can you launch SQL Server Configuration Manager and check for SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) if default instance or SQL Server (other name) if you've configured your instance as a named instance. Once you find this, make sure the service is started.
If not started, try to start it and see if it throws an error. If you get an error, post the error message your hitting. If the service starts, you can then launch SSMS and try to connect. If you have a default instance, you can use the machine
name in the connection dialog. Ex: "COWBOYS" where Cowboys is the machine name. However, if you named the SQL Server instance during install, you'll need to connect using the machine\instance format. Ex: COWBOYS\Romo (where Romo
is the instance name you set during install).
You can also look at the summary.txt file in the SQL Server setup error logs to see what happened on the most recent install. Past install history is archived in the log folder if you need to dig those up to help troubleshoot, but the most
recent one may help get to the bottom of it if there is an issue with setup detecting a prior instance that needs to be repaired.

Oracle VM 3 - only one virtual host accessible from the network (DELL R410)
Hi,
I have installed Oracle VM 3.0.3 and created the network for Virtual hosts. After installing two systems on the server only one is accessible from the network at a time. The second one is not.
Have no idea how e to enable the second host to reach a network.
Maby You have some idea?
Thanks,
JarekHello!!
I'm not an expert but /OVS/Pool should be the directory naming of OVM 2.x, replaced by /OVS/Repositories/REPOS_ID in OVM 3.x
The "wierd directory name" it's the unique ID that OVM assigns to Repository, infact if you go to VM Manager in Repository tab and edit your current repository you will see this ID: 0004fb0000030000839f2d2faa5014c3
Under "0004fb0000030000839f2d2faa5014c3" folder, as you noticed, there are the classic folders ISO, VirtualDisk, VirtualMachine, etc. where files are placed.
I've never tried to import a pre-packaged template from Oracle but I would try importing it as an assembly from http/ftp! ;)
Hope this helps.

My Macbook Air with Lion does not show up on my network to any of my other computers (PC's) , even though it is connected to my wifi and does access the Internet. In addition, my other computers sometimes show up in Finder and sometimes they're not there. Sometimes they do show in Finder and when I click on them, I get "Connection Failed", other times, they connect. Also some shared folders on those other computers, which are PC's are not accessible, even though fully shared. My network is Apple Airport Extreme and works perfectly otherwise, including all PC's being able to see each other. Help would be much appreciated
I got the same problem. I want to access my shared folder on my home windows7 from my MBA. Tried many suggestions on the web but all to no avail. I thought that should be very trivial. Maybe a Lion bug?

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The
server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26- Error:Locating Server\instance Specified)
How Can i solve this?1. Make sure SQL Server Service is running
2. If a named instance, make sure SQL Server browser service is running
3. Make sure SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections
4. Examine the SQL Server error log for messages confirming that SQL is listening on the expected network interfaces and ports
5. Test server connectivity with PING from the client machine
6. Test port connectivity using TELNET or PowerShell to the server and port (from step 4) from the client machine. For example
a. TELNET <server-name> 1433
b. PowerShell: 1433 | % { echo ((new-object Net.Sockets.TcpClient).Connect("YourServerName",$_)) "server listening on TCP port $_" }
7. Check firewall settings if step 5 or 6 connectivity test fails

my voice call services is not working with cellular network...only works fine with wifi..please help?
Since you have already done some sort of reset on your Airport Express, you might as well make sure it was a "hard reset" - follow the instructions for a hard reset found at:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108044
Since your Mac is running Leopard, you need to configure the Airport Express using the Airport Utility found in the Applictions->Utilities folder. You cannot install the old software that was supplied on the CD you got with the Airport Express.
In future - if you do something bad with network settings on your Mac, do NOT try to fix it with the Airport Utility. The Airport Utility is only used to configure the Airport Express - and since the problem you have created is on the Mac and not the Airport Express, there is no need to be using the Airport Utility and especially there is no need to be resetting the Airport Express. -

Genius bar told me to erase the harddisk and install OSX Maverick again. This has not changed the problems with the system settingsYou need to Repartition the drive as One partition which will erase all data from it and then reinstall OS X. then with the initial setup system you chose the language on the first screen that comes up. That sets the language for the whole system.
There is no other way of completely removing certain information created by a previous owner. this hold strue whether you are selling or give a Mac to someone.
To do the repartitioning you need to use the Online Internet Recovery system, if the Mac came with Lion 10.7 or above, or from the original system reinstall discs that came with it when it was new.
