NSU 1.3.20en - ? Application Still Running

Hi All
On two occasions after using NSU to check for updates (there were none) I exited application, it indicates phone connected to PC Suite by usb (ok so far) and then I disconnect phone. However when I come to close down PC there is something still running which I have to force Windows to close.
I'm using Xp Home SP2
No I haven't used any other applications before or after on both occasions!
My main question in view of people having update fail and "bricking" their phone, is has anyone who has successfully UPDATED noticed anything similar?
Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

I am using Win XP SP2. I think its a joke that there can be so many issues trying to get this software to do what it says it can do. Why should we have to try it on 3 different pc's to get it to work. I have a laptop PC so I dont have to have more than 1 PC! ! I wanted the N80 so I dont have to have an iPod, camera etc! I dont have this problem with ANY other software, all the others install and do what they say. None of this disable that, do this **bleep**. Why cant Nokia just make something that works, after all, the only reason to update the firmware is to fix a phone that doesnt work! Its not like the N80 is a cheap phone. All my phones (except 1) have been Nokia but this might be my last. Maybe they should give the code to the community, I'll bet there are people out there who would have it working overnight. Just take it to a care centre they say, not a problem if I didnt live 500km from the nearest centre.

  • Applications still run after user logged off

    Hi,
    I have a w2k8r2 Terminal server and have a problem that have eluded me for some time now.
    When a user is logged off, by either being disconnected or being inactive for a prolonged time, the user initiated programs are still running.
    To be more exact, Some times when a user is logged off I have the following situation:
    In the task manager on the users tab I cannot see the user anymore (nor in the remote desktop services manager), but in the Processes tab I can still see user initiated programs running. Furthermore I am not able to kill any of those programs, getting an
    "Access is denied" error message.
    My problem is that when the Terminal Server enters this "state" it becomes all buggy and itchy, causing loads of problems for the users that are already logged in (and for the new ones trying to log in). The only solution I have found is rebooting
    the server.
    Any solution, or further troubleshooting steps, are more than welcome. For me the next step is reinstalling which I really don't want

    1. Check any task schedular is running for application or not,
    Refer :
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-security/if-i-log-off-at-night-leave-computer-on-will/559eec53-1d2a-46f8-ac12-f0d4a32ab57a?msgId=b51d42b3-e727-40c0-b94e-8a01b31bf526
    2. Also update Antivirus and scan completely.
    3. Is it specific application or all the application, Which user opened in his session?
    4. If specific application is running (In this scenario Outlook is running even user logs off), Try the below Citrix forum thread.
    Refer :
    http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/301644-user-logs-off-process-outlookexe-stays-active-error-the-citrix-server-has-reached-its-concurrent-application-limit/
    5. Check and update  TCP/IP driver
    Refer : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2465772/en-us
    6. Also cross verify Dharmesh suggestions also.

  • Messed up all my production applications, still running but ....

    I was consolidating apps and building several orchestrations into one application, I was done with one and used the "move application" option of one orchestration to free up an application slot (running the 2010 standard version and I
    can only actually used 4 applications) to install the new consolidated version - Everything went great, it's been running in production for over two weeks without issues.
    I am finishing testing a second consolidated application and started to free another slot but when I used the "Move application" option artifacts from all the applications were moved, I did not reviewed what was going to be moved and
    I guess that because there where EDI references on all the apps it moved everything to one application.
    Everything appears to be running fine, being following tracked messages and monitoring the system and it doesn't seem to be affected by having pieces (artifacts) from one application combined with others on another application.
    My question: Short of restoring the BT databases is there anything that I can do to undo my bad, also, can it be confirmed that all orchestrations that reference EDI are affected when using the "Move Application" in this manner.
    One other question: If I where to restore db's, which ones would be required? msxbox, ruleseng, mgmtdb? All? Including BAM?
    Thanks.
    Bico Bielich

    OK, so on you're 'other question'.  You cannot just restore one database, you must restore ALL BizTalk databases, together, using the backups and tlogs produced by the BizTalk backup job that ships with BizTalk.  You are running this job and have
    these files right? ;)  This job is off by default.  That may change your plan / options.  If you just restore one BT database I think you'll break BizTalk.  The stuff you changed is technical in the management database, but the subscriptions
    are all in the message box.
    About the move itself.  I wouldn't worry too much.  BizTalk is actually a global catalog - the applications exist to make our lives easier - internally it's all one big entity: the group.  I would just keep things where they are, or move your
    EDI stuff only back out and into the EDI application.  All your other applications that had references to EDI will already not have references to whatever this new super app you've created is.  Check them to see for yourself.  It's really no
    big deal.
    Hope this helps.

  • After closing the AIR application, it still runs in the Task Manager

    Hi,
    I am very new to AIR application. I have made a product demo
    application in CS3 using AS2 and just for the sake of testing the
    AIR, I published an AIR installer of that application.
    Every thing works as it should be but I am facing one
    problem, when I close the application using the close button. It
    disappears from the desktop but when I checked the TaskManager...It
    still running there. And using large CPU resource (around 50%).
    Does any one know the reason behind it?....I also tried to
    installing other AIR application (made by other users) but that
    application is closing correctly..

    You might set the flag:
    NativeApplication.nativeApplication.autoExit
    to false?
    Otherwise your app. should exit.

  • In 1 applications, e.g. Norton Virus Scan, and Macware DiskToolsPro, the status bar shows 100% but task is still running. Where it says x of y items complete, x is y. This also happens in Windows 7 with Bootcamp. Please explain.

    In >1 applications, e.g. Norton Virus Scan, and Macware DiskToolsPro, the status bar sometimes shows 100% complete but task is still running. Under the status bar, where it says something like "x of y items complete," x is greater than y. This also happens in Windows 7 with Bootcamp. Why does this happen?

  • Javaw.exe is still running when application is closed

    The application works fine. when i close the application using "x" at the top of the window the javaw.exe is still running in task manager. javaw.exe is accumulating all memory when i run the again. The same problem occurs when i run the application through jar. Any help is appreciated

    If you use
    jframe.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
    and you close de window, all your applications
    running in the JVM will be closed too because System
    exit is used. I prefer to use
    jframe.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DISPOSE_ON_CLOS

  • Installaion error "Some other database applications ,ight be still running"

    Hi,
    I am facing a problem while installing developer trail version. Below is the error.
    FCO-00011  The step installClientSoftware with step key |NW_ABAP_OneHost|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|NW_Onehost_System|ind|ind|ind|ind|2|0|NW_DBClient|ind|ind|ind|ind|9|0|NW_ADA_DBClient|ind|ind|ind|ind|4|0|Sdb_ClientSoftware_Dialogs|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|Sdb_ClientSoftware|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|installClientSoftware was executed with status ERROR ( Last error reported by the step :The database installer reported an error. DIAGNOSIS: Some database applications might still be running. SOLUTION: Check the log file sdbinst.log and C:\sapdb\data\wrk\MaxDBRuntimeForSAPAS_install_<date>_<time>.log.).
    Now the installation struck at "Install database client". I have checked all the place that I know in windows like "Processes" and "Services" to see any MaxDB instance is running. I could not find any such. So I am thinking There will not be any applications which can acces database. unfortunatly installation step is thinking it as if there were some other applications running on it.
    Any help to solve would be a great help.
    Thanks,
    Amara.

    I've run this by the folks from Cakewalk forums and had some suggestions to try but to no avail.
    http://forum.cakewalk.com/sonarstdexe-still-runs-after-I-close-and-exit-program-m2960813.aspx
    There is nothing on this in google that I can find "wdmaud!CWAVRenderer::FreeResources+0x8f"
    Just wondering if there is anything I can do to see if I can fix my system, others in the forum can't replicate this issue...
    Would re-installing the audio driver help?  I don't want to do this unless I have to or if there are any other suggestions to try...
    Thanks in Advance
    Jim

    Hi,
    There are no physical audio or midi devices attached.  I have HP ENVY 17 j005xt Notebook PC and has built-in audio HDT High Definition Audio CODEC sound card - and has the latest available drivers for this card already installed supplied by HP
    as OEM.

  • Applications become unclickable, still run in background?

    Some users (important note: _All running Intel Macs, All ran the Migration Assistant, 10.4.10_) are finding that certain applications (Microsoft Office, Mail ... ) are becoming "orphaned" from the window server.
    They launch fine, after a while however, they become unclickable!
    You can see them in the background, but you cannot bring them to the foreground. Clicking the dock icon does not bring the application to the front - the dock does not even acknowledge the application is running!
    You can control the application by holding control down (as if it were the inactive window, which it is)
    It also means you cannot quit the application without terminating the process in Activity Monitor.
    Also note these screenshots: http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/7282/picture11kl2.png
    http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2607/picture10tp7.png
    Notice in the latter image, that the mail process no longer has the dock icon -- this is when it has became "orphaned" from the WindowServer.
    I've tried reinstalling the Combo Updater, Diskwarrior, Repairing permissions and swapping the app for a replacement application off a different machine. I think there is a rather large bug in the Migration Assistant.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    If the program has logic to transfer the data to appliacation layer, then it works. Other wise it is not possible to download the data into your desktop by running in Background.

  • Finder got an error. Application not running (-600)

    I have a LaunchAgent that calls a shell script, at login.  The shell script runs and determines the users AD container and then will runn the correct applescript application depending on the AD Container.    The applescript applications simply mount up the users network volumes, runs a few do shell scripts and then exits.
    It works and has been working for quite some time, under 10.5.x, 10.6.x, 10.7.x and even 10.8.x.  But I have started getting a few users who are getting a rather odd message in the logs that the script creates and I can't really find anything on the error message.
    "Finder got an error.  Application not running (-600)"
    If I log the user in and run the following at the command line:
    launchctl unload name.of.plist
    It will unload the launchagent.
    If I type this at the commane line:
    launchctl load name.of.plist
    It works perfectly.  No errors.
    I can manually run the shell script it calls and that works fine.
    I can also manually double click the apps and those run fine.
    I've changed the permissions, I've recopied, re-imaged, but I can not figure out why the script won't sometimes and gives me that error message.
    Has anyone seen this error message before and what I can try to do to fix it?
    Thank you in advanced.

    This sounds like a typical race condition, and it's impossible to solve without seeing the script.
    The issue is that your script is targetting some application that isn't available. Ordinarily AppleScript will launch an application if it's not already running, but during launch it's possible that your script is trying to target an application before it can be launched (because the user's envirnment is still loading).
    So you need to look at the script to see what it's doing, and what apps it's targeting. The fix might be as simple as adding a few delays to allow the system to finish logging in, but t's hard to say without more data.

  • How to tell embedded jinitator applet is still running when window closed

    Hello, we are trying to accomplish the same thing that is mentioned in this post from Metalink. I've searched for a solution and hope someone here can help. Instead of restating the issue I think David Wilson does a good job of explaining what is needed. Can anyone please suggest a possible solution?

    How to tell embedded jinitator applet is still running when window closed
    Hi,
    We run an oracle 10g forms application through 9iAS over an intranet. All users are running windows 2000 professional.
    We run separate frame = true but I would like to switch to separate frame = false
    With separate frame = true if the user clicks the outer windows "X" close button (forms mdi window) the user is prompted to save changes before the application ends.
    BUT
    when using separate frame = false
    If the user clicks the upper window "X" button (no longer form mdi window but regular browser window) the window and application is abruptly closed.
    I'm interested in using a onbeforeunload function to confirm if the user wants to close the window. This would be placed in the basejini.htm file. This could always ask if the user wants to exit or not. If they click OK then the window closes but if they click "Cancel" you are returned to the forms application exactly where you left. something like event.returnvalue="do you really want to exit?";
    However if the user exited using the normal exit form method then the applet is already closed before the onbeforeunoad event fires and there is nothing to go back to and I want the window to close automatically. This is accomplished using close.html file in post forms trigger.
    So what I want and what I think many may also want is the check if the embedded applet is still running and if so prompt the user to return to the application or continue to close. Of course If the applet is no longer running then just close because there is no reason confirm closing anymore.
    Does anyone have a html/JavaScript solution that can be placed in the jinitiator.htm file? or similar?
    Thank you
    David

    I don't know if this is exactly what you are after but you can add the following to the top of your basejini.htm file and it should prompt the user before exiting the IE window.
    <BODY %HTMLbodyAttrs%>
    %HTMLbeforeForm%
    <SCRIPT>
    <!--
    window.onbeforeunload = unloadApplet;
    function unloadApplet(){
    message = "Warning! Please exit the Java Applet prior to
    exiting the browser"
    return message;
    //-->
    </SCRIPT>

    David,
    Well I could not understand your complete requirement.
    Refer to Note.201481.1 How to Close the Browser Window When Closing Forms And How to Simulate SeparateFrame By Javascript
    Note.115905.1 How to Close Browser Window When Closing Webforms Applet
    Kind Regards,

    Subject: Re : How to tell embedded jinitator applet is still running when window closed
    Thank you for your reply and yes you did not understand my question fully.
    Sorry if this is a long reply
    I am able to close the browser window using information in notes 115905.1 and 201481.1, this is not the issue. We implemented this several years ago. It is workable for both separate frame = true or false.
    It is most important to not allow the user to end their forms application by closing the windows browser, they must close using normal form exit commands.
    What I want is to have separate frame = false, the big drawback to this option is the user can exit the application and bypass all forms code by pressing the windows "X" close button. This is why we need the code as just provided by Andrew Lenton above in this thread.
    BUT Andrew's code will always prompt the user before closing the window and I do not want that. I want the user to be prompted only under scenario 2 listed below.
    Here's the 2 case scenario for exiting the application.
    1. If the user closes properly and uses exit form which fires all normal form triggers including post_form with it's call to close.html file.
    All uncommitted changes are saved or rollback and the users session is ended normally both on the database and in the application server.
    All browser windows will close, great all is good. And without Andrew's code the window will close but with Andrew's code the user will be prompted to close or not, if they select Cancel the window will remain but the applet has already ended so why prompt? ...This is what I want to avoid.
    2. In the forms app. if the user clicks the windows "X" close button with uncommitted changes. The browser just closes the changes are rollback without prompting the user to save. The users sessions are now lost and still running in the database and application server until they are timed out.
    If I use Andrew's code then the user will be prompted to continue to close or go back, if they click Cancel to go back then focus returns to the forms application and the user can continue to work. If the user clicks OK then the window closes and unfortunately their sessions are still lost until timed out.
    So what I desire is to add to Andrew's code to check if the embedded applet is still running and prompt the user to close or not accordingly.
    Something like:
    Basejini.htm like
    </HEAD>
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    function maximizeWindow()
    window.moveTo(0,0);
    window.resizeTo(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight);
    function confirm(){
    If(document.embeddedapplet.closed())
    Win.opener = self;
    win.close();
    Else if
    event.returnValue = "Closing Forms Application. OK to continue?";
    </SCRIPT>
    <BODY %HTMLbodyAttrs%, onload="maximizeWindow()", onbeforeunload="confirm()">
    %HTMLbeforeForm%
    I hope this explains my requirements.

    I'm sorry this is not helpful at all.
    Note 199928.1 is only an alert which does not stop the closing of the window and still displays as an alert if the user does close properly using exit form ... so why would you want to display the alert then?
    This is exaclty what I do not want and why I want to determine if the applet is still running before displaying any kind of message.

    Closing thread.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    I had the same issue last year - wanting to provide a warning on closing the browser, but only if the Forms session is still running. The approach I took is described below, see also the thread where I originally posted this at Closing brower window
    Hi there,I've had a similar requirement - or rather, the two conflicting requirements: to warn when the browser is being closed, but for the app to be able to close the browser without a warning being fired.
    To always provide a warning when someone (the user or the Forms app) tries to go to a different page (e.g. your close.htm), use Javascript like:
    function confirmExit(){
    if(appletRunning==true) {
    msg="Closing this window or navigating to another page will end your SomeGreatApp session.";
    window.event.returnValue=msg;
    And make a call to confirmExit() in the onBeforeUnload event of your main page.
    You'll notice I first check an 'appletRunning' variable before displaying the warning. This Javascript variable is set to true by my app when it starts up, using an embedded Javabean that calls out to Javascript. Once that variable is set to true, then the warning will be displayed if the user tries to shut the browser by clicking on the 'x' button, or to go to a different URL.
    When my app is shutting down, it uses the same Javabean to set appletRunning back to false. It then navigates to a close.htm - which will be done without a warning being displayed.
    See Re: How can a Javabean call Javascript function of the basejpi.html?? for example code on how to call Javascript from a bean embedded in your Forms app.
    Hope these ideas help you out, it's worked for me (so far, anyway!!)

    I have a Macbook Pro 15" that is three and a half years old.  Although it has slowed a bit, it still runs well and runs every program I need. Any tips for how to keep this old computer running well and in good health?
    I have a 250 gig drive and try to keep at least 100 gigs unused at all times, 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM memory, back up with Time Machine and CrashPlan, and have OS X 10.7.3.
    This was my first Mac since an old Apple II GS.  After that I used PC's and got really good at reformatting, replacing drives, reinstalling, defragging, resolving software conflicts, etc.  Since switching back to Macs (five in my extended family now), I haven't had to do any of those things. So, although, the cost is three times as much, the aggrevation has been ten times less.
    I'm retired and living on a fixed income and would therefore like to keep this computer running as opposed to constatntly upgrading.
    That said, any tips?
    Thanks
    It does have a crack on the left of the screen case about 3/4'' up from the bottom.  I've posted that as another question.

    Kappy's Personal Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
    For disk repairs use Disk Utility.  For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior;  DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible. Drive Genius provides additional tools not found in Disk Warrior.  Versions 1.5.1 and later are Intel Mac compatible.
    OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.  Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts was significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or Lion and should not be installed.
    OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems. For more about malware see Macintosh Virus Guide.
    I would also recommend downloading a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX 2.4.3, or Cocktail 5.1.1 that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc.
    For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack.  If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the command line.  Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion.
    When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
    Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Data Backup
    Deja Vu
    SuperDuper!
    SyncTwoFolders
    Synk Pro
    Synk Standard
    Tri-Backup
    Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on maintenance, optimization, virus protection, and backup and restore.
    Additional suggestions will be found in Mac Maintenance Quick Assist.
    Referenced software can be found at CNet Downloads or MacUpdate.
    Be sure you have an adequate amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run concurrently. Be sure you leave a minimum of 10% of the hard drive's capacity as free space.
    Adding more RAM, if feasible, and a new, faster hard drive may also help pep it up a little.

  • Warning message on log off when application is running

    How can I make a warning message when a user is trying to logoff windows while an application made with labview is still running ?

    I was working on just this issue today. Here is a vi (in 7.1.1) and an exe showing it. The exe has been renamed to a .llb to get around some attachment restrictions, so rename it (after scanning with you antivirus of choice!).  I can make it in 8.0 if needed (don't currently have 8.2 installed)
