Nsu discoonect with n95

Hi,
I've read olds topics in nokia discussions web site, but i still have the same problem.
I bought N95 free SIM, i've installer pc suite and NSU. All work fine, PC Suite detect the N95 connected to pc with a usb cable. I can backup and restore my data. I can also do all thing with PC SUITE, else upgrading my N95.
Where NSU is launched, PC SUITE disconnect after 1 minute and NSU don't find my phone.
Help please.
N95 information:
v 10.0.018
15-03-07
RM-159
Nokia N95 (A5.01)
many thanks

Hi fincom
When NSU is launched it disconnects from PC Suite mode automatically, but I wonder whether application can access the internet. Do you have any anti-viral software running which might be interfering such as Symantec Norton?
You could try un-installing NSU, reboot your PC and try installing application again.
You should reach a stage of seeing Nokia BB5 ADL Loader USB Phone Parent as a connection, then you know that you are getting somewhere.

  • Updatinng N95-1 Running NSU compatible with XP sp2

Please Help. I run NSU comptatible with XP sp2. I started to update the phone. NSU downloaded the 116.2 MB software and started to update the phone. It says etsimated time 15 mins but I ve been waiting more than 30mins. What should I do? THe current firmware version of the phone is 12.0.013
and the new version that nsu detected is 21.0.016.

You should hope, that the phone didn´t crash while flashing the firmware, because in that case you might have to take it to a Nokia Care Center.
I´d wait another 15min and close all other applications and see if it goes on.
After that i would unplug it, close NSU, restart NSU, plug in the phone when asked for it and pray it is recognized...
Good luck and let us know what happened!

  • Ck-20w with N95 video out

    Hi,
I am thinking of buying ck-20w for use with N95.
My car screen has "video in" and I would like to connect my N95 to the screen while it is connected to the ck-20w. Is it possible?
There are few things that make me worry that it may not work:
    - As far as I know the 3.5 jack uses the same ring for video and mic.
    - When connecting a cable there is only one type of accessory that should be selected.
    - This sentence in the user guide saying "When the car kit is connected to the phone with a cable, you cannot connect the phone to the car kit using Bluetooth technology for handsfree operation.". Will it still be possible to use the handfree operation through the cable? This will probably require some splitter to use the 3.5 plug for both video and mic.

Hi, do you have any other problems with the N95 and the CK20w? I for instance have, when I turn off the ignition the CK20W refuses to disconnect from the phone. It keeps the connection until I try to make a call on the N95, then it disconnects. It works correctly on other phones though through bluetooth, it connects when I turn the ignition and turns off when I turn off the ignition. I don't know whether it's the phones problem or the car kit's.
One more thing when I make a call when the kit is on then it turns off correctly, this only happens when I don't make a call:
Kit on, make call, turn off ignition, kit off
Kit on, no call, turn off ignition, kit still on. Does anyone have the same problem?
The phone works correctly with BT headsets though.

  • NSU not detecting N95 on Vista problem resloved

I have finally got the NSU to detect my N95 on my Vista laptop.
For anyone having the same issue do the following, it may work for you too:
    1: Uninstall PC Suite
    2: Uninstall Nokia Cable Driver
    3: Uninstall NSU
4: Uninstall Norton Internet Security (or whatever you use)
Once all have been uninstalled clean your registry using whatever cleaner software you have.
    Restart your PC/Laptop
Install PC Suit from nokia website (make sure its latest)
Once installed go through the connection setup and ensure the N95 can connect to PC/Laptop
Then install the NSU from the website (latest version)
Once installed go through setup and it should nowdetect your phone and provide an update.
Once updated you can re-install your anti-virus software.
I have opted for good ole AVG. Norton is such a pain in the rear.
Hope this helps anyone who has also had problems with the NSU detecting your phone.

    Thanks mate.
Well, apparantly, there is some incompatability between Norton Internet security i had and NSU, when i checked Norton site they suggested to upgrade to latest Norton Internet Secutity 7.3 (version i had probably was 6, it was among bundled sofware with my laptop and was labeled as NIS for Sony).
When i downloaded and installed Norton Internet Sec. 7.3 NSU started to work perfecly!
Considering PC Suite over bluetooth, it didn't work either, i uninstalled it two times, then reinstalled it, no luck.
Now interesting part, Nokia released new version of PC Suite 6.84 couple of days ago, this version perfectly (well almost) connects to my laptop via bluetooth, and installes all cable drivers correctly , but still, i sometimes can't look for pics and videos when in bluetooth mode, i get error messages like 'this file doesn't exist" even though i see this file, or ' or 'you don't have enough rights' or something like that, but i can perfectly read my contacts and sms. Well, better this than nothing (as i said, i could NOT connect via bluetooth with previous version PC Suite 6.83 at all).
I guess, may be some bluetooth stacks are not fully supported yet, or may be it's because of Vista..

  • Problem with n95 pc suite music manager

when i load up pc suite and click on music manager to transfer music files from my pc to my phone it shows up for about 10 secs and automatically closes by itself, every other one is fine except install applications which does the same thing but i can update my contacts, view images, messages and the lot apart from music manager and applications, so basically i cant transfer any music on to my phone now plus i even tried uninstalling the old version and installing the updated version of pc suite but its still same thing.

if you use file transfer...it should be on your memory card where the files should be save...and if you are using n95 8GB...you can then try to move the files from memory to your phone's internal memory...but i think..music player is smart enough to display all the music files transferred to your mobile...not unless file is not supported...that's the case with my n73ME..all music file i transferred can all be seen in the music player..i suggest you just refresh library...or move the files to folder where other music files visible in the music library...good luck

  • Problem with N95 Desktop after upgrade to 20.0.015

    Hello,
I upgraded my phone's firmware to version 20.0.015 this morning. Before starting the update, I had backed up the phone's memory to my memory card. When the update was finished, everything worked fine until I decided to restore everything from backup, to ensure that I hadn't lost any of my settings/contacts/messages/etc. Ever since I did that, I have been having trouble with my phone's desktop. All of the things that are supposed to appear at the top are gone! ...there's no clock, no operator, no meter for the battery or signal! All I get where they used to be is a thick white/blank bar. So there's my wallpaper and a big white empty bar on top!
I have tried different skins, wallpapers, etc but they won't help. I have also tried going to "Settings> General> Personalisation> Standby Mode", but the option "Active standby apps." is missing... The only two options are "Active standby" (which does nothing -- throws me back to the desktop/standby) and "Shortcuts" (which is used to define the left and right selection keys)... so there's nothing I can do through the "Standby Mode" settings either! I have even tried reverting to "Factory settings", which again didn't fix the problem (though I have to say that when the phone restarted, I did see the things that go on top for a split second).
Does anyone have any idea on what I should do to fix this problem? I am starting to lose hope...
This is my device's version/model data:

Well, there's a work-around but you'll need to spend some time. To get all your data from the Memory card:
    - Restore the phone from the Memory card (might break it, though)
    - Use PC Suite to make a partial backup (Contacts, Notes, Calendar, Messages but NO phone-settings)
    - Reset the phone to get rid of the broken top-bar
    - Use PC Suite to restore the Contacts, Notes, etc.
This solution will take some time and it is possible that you cannot backup from the broken phone and/or restore to the newer firmware, but if you have no other options to get all your contacts back, then it might be worth a try.
Also note that messing with phone memory might corrupt the phone...

  • Recording videos with N95

    Hello.
I have recently purchased the Nokia N95 and am having some troubles with audio when recording videos.
When the sound is loud it 'crackles' during playback. This isn't because of the phone's speakers, as the crackling also occurs when I play the videos back via television or when playing the .mp4 files on the computer.
It would seem the problem is occurring when the audio is being recorded. Is there a way to decrease the sensitivity of the microphone that records the audio? If not, where is that microphone located so that I can try covering it to reduce the level of sound reaching the microphone.
Thanks in advance for any help!

The microphone is the same microphone used for voice. The opening hole is next to the charging connector on the bottom of the phone.
One way to improve this is to use the remote. When you have the Remote connected then the microphone in the remote will be used.
If someone would be clever enough they can develop a microphone that can be plugged into the 3.5mm jack of the N95 for better video recording.

  • MAJOR ISSUES WITH N95!

CAN ANYBODY SHED SOME LIGHT ON THE HUNDREDS OF ISSUES WITH THIS PHONE?
I PURCHASED A NOKIA N95 3 WEEKS AGO FROM CARPHONE WAREHOUSE.
IM NOW ON MY 4TH HANDSET IN 3 WEEKS!
MY FIRST HANDSETS BATTERY ONLY LASTED 5 HOURS (WITHOUT USING IT)
MY SECOND HANDSET HAD TERRIBLE AUDIO PROBLEMS. (SOUNDED LIKE A BLOWN SPEAKER)
MY 3RD HANDSET KEPT RESTARTING AND WHEN ON, HAD WHITE BOXES OF NOTHING ALONG THE TOP OF THE DISPLAY. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS WAS TO RESTART THE PHONE.
MY 4TH HANDSET CONSTANTLY SAYS 'SIM REGESTRATION FAILED', ERROR CONNECTION, INSERT SIM, TIMED OUT PLUS MORE! IT ALSO OCCASIONALY RESTARTS ITSELF!
IM SURE THIS IS NOT JUST BAD LUCK ON MYPART BUT IM FUMING TO SAY THE LEAST. ONTOP OF THIS CARPHONE WAREHOUSE ARE NOW SAYING ILL HAVE TO PAY £600 TO COME OUT OF THE CONTRACT BECAUSE IM OVER MY 14 DAYS, BUT THE 14 DAYS WERE WAISTED WITH FAULTY HANDSETS OR WAITING FOR CARPHONE WAREHOUSE TO REPLACE MY OLD ONE. DISCUSTING!
NOKIA N95 WAS A GREAT IDEA AND HAD ALL THE FEATURES I NEEDED. SHAME THEY DONT ACTUALLY WORK PROPERLY!
CAN ANYBODY RECOMEND A DECENT (SMARTPHONE) HANDSET WITH THE N95 FEATURES THAT ACTUALLY WORKS?
ANYONE ELSE HAVING AS MANY PROBLEMS AS ME?

cant recall now...usually your warranty is either a card or part of the back of the manual...but to prove a warranty you need a purchase receipt with date of purchase clearly shown...usually you would return a copy of the receipt with the phone for your warranty claim....
i dont think and imei number will supply a fixed date of manufacture..and even if it did i doubt it would be enough to prove you have a valid warranty claim...
if it was a private sale can you get the original purchase details from the person you bought it from? that way you might at least be able to paperchase a supplier receipt and get a firm date of supply from Nokia or the original suppliers....
the problem with private sales is you are always going to suffer with warranty pit falls....
Nokia Customer services might be able to track through with the serial number from the side of the box or from the phone....again whether that will enough to validate a warranty claim im really not sure....
you might have to contact Nokia and explain the situation and just see what they are willing to do...
    *addition*
happened to have my old 9300 manual in my desk here at work..the warranty is listed near the back of the manual...
the only thing i can find that might harm a warranty as explained in the manual read something like this:
Limited warranty is not enforcable if the product has been opened, modified, accesory date code, imei tampered with etc etc by anyone other than a NOkia service engineer...any warranty in such a case will be at Nokia discretion...
again i think its going to come down to "proof or purchase" date
hope this helpsMessage Edited by kirisute on 06-Jun-200703:19 PM

  • PC will not read disc which came with N95 8GB Phon...

Upgraded to N95 8GB. So far so good, then !!!. Came back from hols to link with PC to find that the CD drive and DVD drive will not read the disc which came with the phone. PC will still read other discs but not the Nokia disc. What is the disc format and can I get what is on the disc elsewhere?

It's probably just a damaged disc. You can download the PC Suite software from www.nokia.com/pcsuite, as far as I know you can't get replacement CDs.

  • Lost BT Modem Function with N95

Until I did a SECOND Firmware upgrade (first was to 20.0.015, second to 21.0.016), I was able to use my N95 as a modem via BT with my Palm TX. Now, when I attempt to connect, a BT connection is established followed by a 3G/3.5G data connection visible on the N95's screen as the solid bi-directional arrows. However, as my Palm is doing it's "Signing On" routine, I notice that the N95 data connection drops. Every single time at the same place in the sign-on. This is followed by a "Time Out" message on the Palm.
If I have the Connection Manager open to Active Connections while trying to make the Modem Connection, "Modem Connecting" does appear for several encouraging seconds, but then disappears as the data connection fails.
I've received new configurations from my provider, and internet connectivity is fine directly from the N95 alone. I can't explain why the Palm can make the BT connection, generate an initial 3G data connection, yet fail at what appears to be the final stage of authentication. My Palm configuration has NOT changed. There are no error messages from the N95, and only the "PPP timeout" from the Palm.
    Ideas?

    grschinon,
As we both suspected, it was the N95. Nothing to do with the Palm, on which nothing had been changed. Basically, my O2 support tech had me manually create a new AP. It differed only slightly from the original one I created (with O2 direction) when I initially set the phone up. But, both manual configurations were completely different from automated configurations delivered to me via SMS.
The slight difference between the two manual configurations? Explicitly specified DNS IP addresses.
So, that put all to right, and to great relief. I should have stopped there, but NO! I decided to DELETE what I assumed to be the non-functional configuration (supplied via SMS). After having done so, my N95 continued to work as a modem, but my Truphone wizard couldn't "see" my manually created 3G AP! So, I re-saved my SMS-delivered configuration, and this resulted in a 3G AP which is visible to and works with Truphone. I still don't understand what about the manual configuration renders it "invisible" to Truphone -- other applications (Google Mail, browser) cab see it just fine.
So, now, things are working as usual. None of this was intuitive. I'll see how this works when roaming outside of O2's network.

  • Problem with N95 8Gb Gallery

I have a quite annoying problem with my N95 8Gb Gallery.
Since last week, when I open the gallery it appears a lot of system files that shouldn't be there instead of only showing my videos and photos. It makes the phone a lot slower and it crashes. It takes a lot of time to select any file.
Is it some kind of system trouble or have I messed up with something i shouldnt?
Thanks for the help and sorry about the writing mistakes

    yes it is very odd!
Well I have tried to just loads 2 images from the laptop onto my mobile. I have tried doing a direct file transfer (mass media) and then also tried through Nokia PC suite-uploaded via the CD rom I was given. On both occasions this has been uncessful to view images from the gallery menu on the phone..crashes!
I think the photos are actually on the phone under the file manager folder I can find them stored here. However on opening the gallery to try and view these files, the phone freezes and I am unable to exit the menu -using the 'back' button have to press the red phone cancel button. Once out of the gallery folder and back to the main screen I can then no longer access and shortcut menus for about 3mins. Very frustrating. The most recent phone I have now, I got 2 days ago-I've not even plugged into my laptop, and when asking a friend to send me images via bluetooth I cannot open this either!! (it comes as a text format from bluetooth) and on opening the phone just freezes again. I try to save this when asked to mass memory and not phone memory.
I can take images on my 'phone camera' but again cannot view as unable to access the gallery-constantly freezes the phone. The images are not a large file just jpeg format for example 45KB another one I tried was much larger 1MB...
I still don't understand why this is happening all the time!!! Many thanks for your help.... (Orange are going to send me a new sim card to try) and see if this helps.

  • Nokia Maploader problem with N95

No i do not have a connectivity error with Maploader.
I cannot start the program at all. After installing. I click on the program then I see a splashscreen. And under the splashscreen I see a message saying That maploader is a program to transfer maps on your Nokia. Fine till then.
When I click OK I get a message Maploader doesn't work anymore: It has never worked!! And the program disappears
I tried both versions Smart2go and Nokia (both are the same)
I have Vista, I also did a reboot after install---> No Go
I tried WinXp SP2 compatibility---> nope not working.
I already opened Maps several times on the N95
don't really know what to do now.

Map Loader often fails for unknown reasons.
If you can put your memory card into a card reader, you can use AvMapsLoader by Andreas Vogel.
    - program: http://sites.google.com/site/avesomega/AvMapsLoader
    - review: http://symbianism.blogspot.com/2009/02/nokia-map-loader-alternative.html
If that doesn't work for you, just download the maps with your web browser and extract them to the map folder on your phone:
    - Nokia Map Loader Alternative: http://nokiamaps.site666.info
If your phone can go online by WiFi or if you have unmetered mobile internet you don't even need a computer to preload maps on your phone.
Of course you can also keep troubleshooting Nokia's own map loader until it works, but that can take such a long time that the alternatives are often faster and easier.
With WiFi and fast mobile internet all over the place Nokia should code a lightweight map loader for Symbian. There's no reason for not doing so, because downloading and unzipping map files really doesn't need hundreds of megabytes worth of Map Loader, PC suite, and .net framework. It doesn't need to take much more than a web browser (already present in Symbian), a zip program (already present in new versions of Nokia's firmware), and some code to make 'em work together.
