NSURLErrorDomain-Fehler -1012.

I since recently get this error message when I go to the updates tab in the App Store window. The buttons to update the system do not appear but two updates are listed: Safari 7.0.4 and OS X-Update 10.9.3
I am running Mavericks on a Hard drive that is partially partitioned by Debian, wich I installed on one of the other partitions.
I once had to move all of my user files to an NTFS Drive and back when I probably lost some special file attributes but I did not have any bigger Problems with that yet.
Does anybody know what the error code stands for?
NSURLErrorDomain-Fehler -1012.

Seems like this is a server side problem which probably will be resolved soon by Apple.

  • Error report (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.)

when I share a video from Final Cut Pro to Vimeo it fails and generates an error report (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.). What does this mean and how can I resolve this?

Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).

    Thanks!

Most of these kinds of things are in the documentation - from the Foundation Constants Reference:
`Returned when an asynchronous request for authentication is cancelled by the user.
This is typically incurred by clicking a “Cancel” button in a username/password dialog, rather than the user making an attempt to authenticate.`

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I'm having this same error tonight on my MBP 13 inch Mid 2009 running 10.9.2. I was also upgrading my sister's MBP 15 inch after a fresh install of 10.9.1 and after doing the 10.9.3 Combined updater. I was beginning to wonder if my rural wireless ISP had implemented some firewall setting that was causing this.
I connected to my office Mac mini server and it's doing the same thing.
I guess we have to wait for Apple to fix this.

  • The operation couldn't be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.)

    On May 25, I updated my OS X 10.9.3.
    Everything seems to work well.
Even the crashing Safari that I could no longer load after restoring from a Time Capsule Time Machine Backup... it now works again!
However, when I launch App Store and click Updates, I get this error message:
"An error has occured.  The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.)"
It is the same error message when I click the Apple logo on the upper left corner then go to Software Updates.
What is this error about and does it really matter?

It appears that the certificate for the app store was not renewed and expired today. You'll need to wait until Apple fixes the problem.
