NTFS Folder not showing up in OS X

I've got this 320 GB external harddrive with a NTFS Partition that I use with Windows. It works fine with Windows, and I know that it is only possible to read files with OS X. My problem is that there is one folder with my itunes and videos that only shows up when im using it with windows. When i'm on the mac, it shows that the folder is there when i go "Get Info"; it shows that the drive is nearly full. but when I select all the folders its only like 37GB so it's not in any of the other folders.

Hi,
I wonder what Windows® reports for Sharing rights on that folder?
I know that it is only possible to read files with OS X.

  • Why does my photo uploaded from my PC into the upload Photo Stream folder not show up on my iPhone or iPad?

I just set up iCloud for my new iPhone 4S and iPad2. I have a PC running Windows 7. I have downloaded the iCloud for Windows 7 software. In experimenting with iCloud, I see the pictures that I took on my iPad and iPhone have been streamed to my PC, no problems there; however, I have been trying to upload only one picture (.jpg format) from my PC to iCloud and it does not show up on my iPhone or my iPad. I moved the picture into the upload folder in Photo Stream manually from my PC. I have read and reread the directions several times and I cannot see that I am missing any steps, but the picture does not show up. Has anyone else had this problem and been successful in overcoming it?
    Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem with my iPad. I did what the post above says and it fixed it.
Before I did that my photos weren't showing up in the photo stream but in my FB app if I choose to upload a pic from photo stream they were there. Weird.
and it has worked for me....many many thanks Nikkimc813

  • Folder not showing up in Finder

When I open Finder from the Dock and navigate to /Library, the folder InputManagers does not appear in the list window. However, when I search for InputManagers with Spotlight, Spotight finds the InputManagers folder and when I click on the folder in Spotlight it opens a new Finder window with the folder now showing in the list. What's up here?

This has just happened to me also. Except I have "lost" Applications. Everything is still there. I can get to it various ways, except can't see it in the Macintosh HD window. I just today installed iLife 6 , I also updated everything except Mac OS X (still running 10.4.4). The last time I saw the folder I had connected to my HD from another machine (also 10.4.4) and dropped a folder into Applications. Less than 1 hour later back on my mini I noticed Applications was "gone".

  • Problems with images greyed out. Downloaded folder not showing up in Left Panel

Downloaded folder and it showed up in Lightroom. Next day images greyed out Folder doesnt show in Left Panel. Lightroom says no images to Import. What do I do?

Thanks so much dj for your response. Unfortunately I did start in the Library module and the folder wasn't there to click on. It was really strange, but the usual 'Previous Import' link wasn't showing anything! That's why I tried to reimport.
If the folder doesn't show in your Library module, then you probably (accidentally) imported the photos using the MOVE option instead of the ADD option. You have to search for the desired photos by file name, and NOT by folder. Perform all of the following 4 steps, and you will find your photos
Go to the Catalog Panel on the left in the Library Module and click on All Photographs
Turn off all filters (Ctrl/Cmd-L once or twice)
Expand all Stacks (Photo->Stacking->Expand All Stacks)
    Search by file name

  • Gmail Important folder not showing in Thunderbird

I am using a program called MailWasher (MW) to preview all the emails of six accounts. I have just had a case where it showed an email from Gmail, but when I did a Get Mail it did not appear.
Logging directly into Gmail I found that the message had been place in the Important folder. Doing a Reply in Gmail, again I saw an entry in MW but again, a Get Mail did not show anything.
Am I missing something here? I'm not sure just what rules Gmail is using to decide whether am email is 'Important' but I don't like the idea of Thunderbird not being able to display a message just because it seems to be put somewhere other than Inbox.

It's been a long time since I used gmail in anything other than IMAP, so I'm not sure what happens under POP.
Their operating principle with email is to label it, and then display it in the appropriate view. So mails tagged as "Important" will appear when you select ''Important'', which looks like a folder. In the IMAP world, a message labelled ''Important'' will appear both in its original folder (usually the Inbox) and in the ''Important'' folder. I'm surprised that yours appears to be ''moving'' messages.
Go to the gmail webpage and in your account settings, look for settings to manage these folders. I disable all the naff pre-categorization that google wants to do for me, such as Important and Social, Promotions, etc.

  • Pdfs and MP3s in iTunes Folder not showing up iTunes Library - Please Help

Hi, I am running iTunes 10.7 on a 15 inch MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 4 GB of RAM using OS X 10.7.5.
My problem is that when I bring the latest set of pdf and MP3 files I added do not show up in my iTunes library.  If I go through the finder they are in the iTunes folder, but they will not display or play.
    Thank you
    Nucleus

They will not play or display even outside of iTunes?  Not with Quicktime Player (for the mp3s) or Preview (for the PDFs)?  If that's the case the files are probably corrupt.
Adding items to iTunes and not having them appear in the library is a recurring problem with newer versions for some.
    Try restarting iTunes.
Check your recently added playlist.  If they are there, try temporarily editing an item in the name, then restart iTunes and see if it appears.
Start iTunes, immediately hold down the option key and create a new, test library.  Add the files to it.  Do they add?  If yes, then they are readable by iTunes.  Go back to your old library using hte option key thing again.

  • Drop Box folder in the Public folder not showing on the network

    Hi everyone,
I am running a MacBook Pro 2010 running OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion. We have an office and multiple mac computers connected to our network. For us to transfer files we use the Drop Box folder inside the Public folder (We do not use the dropbox website/service). We would use the finder and click on the computer on the sidebar, open the Drop Box folder and drag files in with no hassel. However my Drop Box folder is not showing up when other users are trying to access my computer via the network.
My file sharing is on and I have attached an image with the settings I am using. I have compared these settings to other macs in the office that have a working Drop Box folder and they match. Hope you guys can help me.

  • Songs in itunes music folder not showing

    Hello all:
Songs in user/music/itunes music folder are not showing up in itunes 7.6.1 are not showing in the itunes application. Recently upgraded from previous version. TIA for any advice.

Maybe I need to expand and clarify a bit.
In my "user/music/itunes music" folder there are songs located in folders listed by artist/album. Some of these songs show up in the iTunes browser. I'm assuming this is due to my recent migration from my old Powerbook to my new Macbook Pro.
Any help would be very welcome.

  • ICloud Drive Folder not showing up in Finder

Hi, I have a Macbook Air (2013) and I'm running the most up to date BETA Version of OS X Yosemite. I read somewhere that is is essentially the exact same as the newly released Yosemite. My iCloud Drive Folder is NOT showing up in my favorites in Finder. I can only access iCloud Drive when I open up Finder and then click on the "Go" button in the menubar. How can I add the iCloud Drive folder to "Favorites" in Finder??? I've read it should automatically be there but it's not. Any help would be MUCH APPRECIATED!

iCloud drive will not show in your "Devices" section, but in the Favourites.
Your "Favourites" are hidden.  Move the pointer to the right of the word "Favorites" to reveal the hidden Hide/Show controls and unhide them.  iCloud Drive will not show as a drive, but like a cloud.

  • Imported folder not showing up in Lightroom 4.1

I've imported my photos into Lightroom 4.1, running on Windows 7.
My photos are organized by Year, then Month.  For example, I imported a directory "2011", which contains all my photos from 2011.  There are sub folders for each month, such as "April 2011".
For some reason, the sub folder "September 2011" is not showing up.
I tried to re-import that directory, and all the photos are shown as already imported.
I also (accidentally) have a "September 2011" directory in a sub-folder in my 2012 photos.  I tried to move this directory to 2011, but I'm told that the folder already exists.
Why isn't it showing up under 2011?

If the photos are already imported, even in the wrong location, you can right-click on one and say Find in Library to see where it is, then move that folder using things inside of LR, to another completely different location, then examine where the photos are and aren’t using Windows Explorer, then decide where you want to move the folder to using LR.  We can’t see your computer to tell you exactly what to do.

  • Smart Folder not showing files

Hi guys, i'm trying to save a search on folder ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub/, but the smart folder is not showing the files even when i'm looking at those files, can any one tell me what am i doing wrong?
    Thanks!

I have bad news for you. There appears to be a problem with the [Contains Attachments] condition in smart mailboxes. For smart mailbox purposes, Mail does’t realize a message contains attachments until you view its contents. I don’t think there is anything you can do about it other than reporting the problem here:

  • Content Tree Media Folder Not Showing Images

I have below issue with getting the uploaded images under Media tree section in Content Tree. Please see if you can help me to figure out the issue.
I did below configuration in Admin section for Tree same as avispots site.
    Title:
    Media
    Tooltip:
    Media
    Sites:
    avisports
    My_Site
    Required Roles:
    SiteAdmin, SitesUser, GeneralAdmin
    Tab Contents:
    My Image Asset
    Image Category
    Image
    ID:
    1336168677350
My asset name is "My Image Asset". Though I am able to upload and see the images of type "My Image Asset" and Image type, I am not able to see them in the content tree. If I double click on Media it
shows all images in browsing screen (same as after search) however it does not show them under the Media folder as shown in avisports site.

Interesting, I'm getting the same thing.  I know for a fact, all of my music that I had album artwork for used to show the album art in Finder.  Admittedly, I don't know when this changed, as I haven't checked for a while (pre-mavericks).  One thing I did notice just now, though, is the album art does show for music purchased through iTunes.  It doesn't show for music that I have imported.  This didn't used to be the case...

  • Public folder not showing up as mail enabled, but it's receiving email.

I've got several mail-enabled public folders that are showing up as not being mail-enabled in the public folder console, but are receiving email. If I run get-publicfolder -identity "\folder\name" | fl it shows that the folder is mail-enabled and
all of the information listed there matches up with other folders that are showing up correctly.
With one of the folders doing this, I selected to mail enable it and see what happened. It accepted it, but it assigned it a completely different address, though if I search AD for the old address, it shows that it's attached to the very same public folder.
Also, if I check the GAL, the public folder shows up twice, one with the old address and one with the new.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

We have the exact same problem.
The "easy" way would be to export all mail-enabled objects from the MESO to text files to have smtp addresses saved :
    get-mailpublicfolder * | select displayname,emailaddresses,grantsendonbehalfto, primarysmtpaddress | fl >> C:\temp\export.txt
Then delete Public Folder objects from the MESO
After that, you should be able to mail-enable your public-folder and add previously saved smtp addresses.
But this is just a workaround, not a real solution.
This is why we have just opened a case with Microsoft to clearly identify what is causing this post-migration (2007-2013) issue. I will update this post as soon as i have some news.

  • Why would files that are in my iTunes Music folder not show up in iTunes?

Downloaded emusic.com files show up in my iTunes Music folder like usual, but iTunes doesn't seem to detect them. Then, each time I quit iTunes I receive a problem report saying iTunes quit unexpectedly.  Help?

iTunes is a data base manager and as noted needs a reference.
If I am adding tunes not purchased from the iTS then I d/l to a folder on my Desk Top then as noted 'Add to Library'.
I also have the iTunes prefs>Advanced>copy .... option enabled. This way iTunes will copy the tune into iTunes and then you can delete the Desk Top copy.
