NTP client in Windows 7 Professional Does Not Sync

I have an NTP server running on an Ubuntu Linux box.  All of my other linux boxes are able to synchronize to this NTP server.  My Windows 7 Professional box is not even after trying multiple steps suggested in these forums.
The NTP server is on the local network; the firewall and anti-virus do not seem to be causing issues.  If I test the NTP server connection using the following line:
/stripchart /computer:192.168.2.63 /packetinfo
I see the following information:
Tracking 192.168.2.63 [192.168.2.63:123].
The current time is 1/28/2014 9:05:24 PM.

Which indicates to me that I am able to see the server and receive NTP packets.
However, if I try to configure the server manually thusly:
w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:192.168.2.63,0x1 /syncfromflags:manual /update
and perform a resync:
w32tm /resync /rediscover
I get the following error:
The computer did not resync because no time data was available.
But -- using wireshark I can see the NTP request go out and what looks like a valid NTP packet return from my server.
What other settings am I missing here?  Why would an NTP packet arrive and not be recognized by w32tm?

I turned on the debug logging; I additionally see this information:

  • Am I the only one whith an iTunes (11.1.3 on Windows 7) that does not sync my playlist on my both my iPhone 4G and iPdos classic 5G

I have multiple Playlists organized by folders (multiple folders but all at 1 level, no folders within folders) and I trying to unload some (cristmast music) and uploading other playlists instead.
From iTunes view everything seems fine, as usual, but the update doesn't show on my iPod App. On my iPhone I'm seeing my Christmist playlists and not the ones that iTunes show as "checked and loaded" in iTunes when reconnecting my iPhone to my PC's USB port. Samething happens with my old iPod Classic. ...BUT!
But if I edit a playlist from my iPhone, after sync, I can see that change of that playlist in iTunes on my PC!? So the download from iPhone works but the upload from iTunes to iPhone does NOT work.
    My Hardware:
    - Windows 7 on a Dell Laptop
    - iOS 7 on iPhone 4G (32 gb)
    - iPod Classic 5G (32 gb)
I consider my self a power-user, using iTunes since 2002 and I just can't find a solution. I've been able to sync my playlist with both devices for the last time on December 15th 2013 but I think that was before updating to version 11.1.3.
Any body knows about a problem synchronizing (updating)  playlist on devices running iOS 7? This seems like a major bug to me since any of my devices can't sync completly.

After going by elimination to isolate if the problem was from (1) iTunes app, (2) my computer or (3) my old iPhone 4G, I figured out what my problem was.
    1) First I deleted & reinstalled iTunes on my Windows PC without succes, my playlist did not changed on my iPhone.
    2) I tested a successful #sync from the iMac at work.
So my conclusion is: The hard drive on my Windows PC is full and that is affecting iTunes SYNC functionalities.
So I'll do a back-up then run a "Clean Install" of my Windows OS, hoping that it will fix my SYNC problems.

  • Windows XP system does not Sync

I have two Windows systems - a Vista and and XP Pro system and two iPhones. The Vista system has upgraded to iTunes 7.6 and all works fine. On the XP system, after the upgrade to iTunes 7.6 my wife's iPhone is not recognized by iTunes. Nothing in the menu system, no syncing, etc. The PC clearly sees the iPhone since the "new hardware found" process happens. I did read somewhere back in December or November that there was a problem (maybe this one) that was related to the version of Quicktime that upgraded with iTunes. The solution was to uninstall Quicktime, download an older version and reinstall. I can't find a reference to what I read, can't find older versions of Quicktime.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the iTunes/Quicktime package that did not solve the problem. Any suggestions?

One additional bit of information - when the iPhone is connected via USB to the the PC, the iTunes software does not start. Previously when the iPhone was plugged in, iTunes started.
Does anybody know what the connection or link is to "tell" iTunes to start when the iPhone is plugged in? This may be "broken"

  • Instant Client on 64-bit Windows 7: Driver does not appear in System DSN

Instant Client on 64-bit Windows 7: Driver does not appear in System DSN tab when creating a new Data source.
    What I did so far:
I downloaded the basic and odbc zips for Window 64-bit.
    Unzipped the basic zip.
Unzipped the odbc zip to the same directory.
Added the dir path to the System Environment Variable called Path.
Double-clicked on the odbc_install.exe to run it from Windows Explorer.
Then I tried to add the driver to create a new data source but it does not appear in the list of drivers.
From a cmd window, I navigated to the instant client directory and tried to run odbc_install again.
I got the message: Oracle ODBC Driver with same name already exists.
    What am I missing?

hello, I did it like that you say,but the result also is "oracle odbc driver with same name already exists". I don't kown what can I do it ,Thank you!

  • Windows 8.1 does not go to sleep reliably anymore

I recently did a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro x64 (final version). Before doing the clean install, all hardware being identical, my Windows 8 was ran smoothly and went to sleep fine automatically after the set time.
Now, after the clean install, although I believe I have installed and set up everything as before, the computer does not reach standby automatically anymore most of the time. To be precise, when I reboot or log off and on the PC, the sleep functionality
is re-established for a while, but after 1 or 2 hours of work it invariably gets lost.
However, as soon as I disable the Ethernet adapter, the PC sleeps as expected.
I do not seem to be able to figure out why this is, or how my configuration is different than before.
Here are a few specs about my hardware: ASRock Z77E-ITX mainboard (http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77E-ITX/, has the Windows 8.1 compatibility sticker), Intel Core i7-3770, 4x 3.40GHz including Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics (no external graphics installed),
Intel 530 Series SSD, Intel 520 Series SSD, WD HDD. I have use a wired Ethernet connection, my Ethernet chip is from Broadcom. Wifi chip is disabled.
Since this has been a pervasive issue with all Windows versions, the internet is full of suggestions how to resolve this matter. Why I am not convinced that the old advice still has any bearing as I tend to think Windows 8.1 introduced new issues (bugs?),
for the sake of covering all bases, I tried almost every tip I could find on the net and will list my fruitless attempts in the following. It might also be useful as reference for other people trying to tackle such issues.
    1) Installed latest Windows 8.1 drivers from Asrock's homepage. I also tried chip manufacturer's like Intel's own drivers, did not make any difference (so far).
    2) Left the homegroup and disabled homegroup functionality as for example in these threads it has been argued that this is a new issue with Windows 8.1: http://www.eightforums.com/general-support/28226-windows-8-1-refuses-sleep-2.html
    http://www.eightforums.com/general-support/33221-windows-8-1-does-not-go-sleep-standby-automatically.html
    3) In the Ethernet adapter's settings, I unchecked ipv6. I also made sure the device cannot be awaken through the network.
    4) I even went so far to disable network discovery as
file and printer sharing (both in private and public profiles) and disable
    public folders.
    5) Even though sharing is disabled, I also made sure that within the energy options the computer is
allowed to sleep when sharing media.
    6) powercfg /requests returns "none".
    7) ran powercfg /energy duration 300 from an elevated command prompt while the ethernet adapter was enabled. It found 9 errors, mostly related to USB hubs, but the same errors were also recorded when I repeated the exercise having the ethernet
adapter disabled. So these errors are probably not relevant for the problem at hand.
    8) powercfg /devicequery wake_armed : just the mouse and keyboard appear
    9) I tried netstat which shows many connections but do not know how to interpret them or what to look for. Same for
Wireshark. If anybody can guide me on how to use these tools, I am happy to learn about it.
    10) powercfg -requestsoverride DRIVER \FileSystem\srvnet SYSTEM
    did not help, reverted it.
    11) Uninstalled software some would find suspicious: Cisco Anyconnect VPN Client, Shadowprotect Desktop backup software, VMware player. Did not help.
    12) I also have a MySQL server installed, which I did NOT uninstall because it would be too much point reinstalling and reconfiguring it. However, I doubt this is the culprit as with Windows 8 it did not prevent any sleep. Even when I stop the server the
PC does not go to sleep.
This is more or less it. I am out of ideas and welcome any feedback.
Again, when the Ethernet adapter is disabled, the PC sleeps as programmed, but I cannot figure out what communication is responsible for keeping it awake.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
I don't know if you'll feel better but - You are not alone facing the same problems, I am sure that all the power handling in 8.1 is a mess. If I force the comp. to go to sleep mode, after a while it is
not staying in the sleep mode but shutting down autonomously. I suppose there is more hidden bugs.
    Tazlam
Isn't your computer just switching from sleep mode to hibernation mode after the amount of time set in your power management settings? This sounds like it, as in hibernation the computer is effectively shut off. This is also intended behaviour.
As you guys, I hope MS releases a fix soon.

I just discovered that Windows Media Player does not recognize songs I recently downloaded from the Wal-Mart Music Download Site.  The songs can be seen in the Music Library in a folder named "Downloads" and I can open each song and it will play when double clicked.  The problem is that I can not create a playlist containing the new songs and burn a copy of the playlist because the songs are not listed in the Media Player library no matter hot it is sorted (Artist, Album, Genre, etc).

  • Windows Security Suite does not recognize Verizon Internet Security Suite

Windows Secuity Suite does not recognize that the Verizon Internet Security suite on one of my PC's is running and keeps popping up aWindows Security Alert. The Firewall is enabled within Verizon Internet Security suite.
My other PC's don't have this issue.
All PC's are running Windows Vista Home Premium.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Mark

well that error message is saying that Windows security center no longer supports the way that the VISS is reporting. Which means that even though VISS is working and it is even reporting its status to WSC. WSC doesnt recognize it anymore. Likely one of the windows updates made the change. I can see the fight comming now. Verizon is going to say. Its working and if the other program doesnt support it, too bad. And windows is going to say the same thing in reverse. My guess would be that it will probably stay that way unless Verizon or Microsoft get enough complaints to make a change in the recognition system.
But the good news is that VISS is running and protecting you. The WSC just doesnt "speak the same language" anymore and cant understand the message from VISS saying "I'm up and running"

  • IPhone unrecognized in Windows 7 & Mac -- does not show in iTunes

    Hey everyone,
Just this week I was able to sync my iPhone 4 to my iTunes (Windows 7), but for some reason it is now completley unrecognized. I've already done the basics -- reset my phone, restarted my computer, reinstalled iTunes and have even attempted to reconfigure msconfig but nothing seems to work. I have also tried to sync it to my brother's MacBook on his iTunes, but again it only charges the phone but does not sync it at all. Apparently after doing some research, a common problem is to disable my wi-fi connection on my laptop and then attempt to sync it, but that doesn't work either. When I run iTunes Diagnostics, everything seems to be fine except the fact that iTunes cannot find the phone and sync it. My phone also used to show in My Computer but no longer does that.
Any idea why my iPhone now cannot be found by Windows? I know it's not my USB ports, because I am using an external mic and mouse and have even tried switching to all USB ports. My drivers are up to date. As you can see I've virtually done (what seems like) everything to sync my phone but I just can't fix this issue. I'm thinking it's an issue with the iPhone itself as it does not sync to anything.
    Please help!

    Shameless bump. Someone please help!

  • Windows 8.1 Mail app does not sync with the Office 365 account

My company has recently switched to Office 365. Windows 8.1 Metro Mail app does not work with Office365 account. When I switch to IMAP it works but that is soon going to be disabled and is not compliant with the company policy.
I can add the account and it also pushes the security policies but it does not sync email at all. Says account is not available. The tablet shows up on the mobile devices on the office 365 and I could also remote wipe it.
It seems everything works except basing email sync. What could be the issue?

How do i share itunes music? I have a Mac and she is on Windows. She does not have an iTunes or iCloud ID.

You could install iTunes on her PC, then sign in using your ID and activate her computer (iTunes menu bar: Store Authorize This Computer) in order to download your previous purchased media files.
