NullPointer with Replicated Session

          I'm running on a 2-node Solaris cluster with WLS 8.1 sp1. When testing failover,
          the session is replicated correctly to the secondary server. However, if the
          page being tested with failover uses session.setAttribute, the following error
          is received:
          java.lang.NullPointerException
               at weblogic.servlet.internal.session.SessionData.setAttribute(SessionData.java:563)
               at weblogic.servlet.internal.session.ReplicatedSessionData.setAttribute(ReplicatedSessionData.java:438)
          I've checked and everything appears to be serializable (no WLS errors and in a
          non-clustered environment, I'm able to write the session out to file). Is this
          an issue with WLS?

  • Appcrash with multitrack sessions in Audition CS6 on a MacBook Pro with Windows 7

    This is an issue with multitrack sessions different from 44100 Hz in Audition CS6 (as part of a Premium Suite CS6). While multitrack sessions with  a sampling rate of  44100 Hz works normally (as long as I use clips with 44100 Hz) any other sampling rate causes  an APPCRASH (s. below). Also with the insertion ( in a 44100 Hz multitrack session, of course) of any clip with a sampling rate different from 44100 Hz, the programme crashes in the moment it's going to generate a adapted copy for the multitrack timeline.
    Audition is installed on a MacBook Pro Retina 15" ,Mid 2014, Model 11,3, Intel Core i7 4870HQ 2,5 GHz, 16GB RAM  with  Windows 7 SP1.
    I tried all advices of the Adobe troubleshooting site and some of the community.
    Especially:
    - the simplified mode with user-defined system start
    - deactivated user account control
    - new user account
    - deactivated data execution prevention (DEP)
    Also the use of different audio interfaces affords no effect:
    - build in Cirrus Logic CS4208 with MME drivers
    - Motu UltraLight mk3 hybrid via USB with Asio drivers.
    In spite of an extensive search I can't find any similar case in the net.
    So, please, can you help me?

    I'm afraid you are right. At the worst I'm more than 50% of the audition users on a mac with windows.To solve the problem within a passable time I would like to change to the mac version of audition. But unfortunately it's impossible to use the mac version with a windows licence. And CS6 licences (mac audition) are not longer available (only at a moon rate).
    Because of the weekend we can pass the time with the latest news of my trouble-shooting.
    The crash is not only within the multitrack session but also within the waveform view: when I try to change the sampling rate (Edit -> Convert Sample Type) the programme crashes with the same problem signature. And here it crashes with all sampling rates , including 44.1k audio files. On the other hand I can play all sampling rates within the waveform view.
    I compared the logfile from the predecessor of the MacBook , a LG Notebook with windows vista and a working Au CS6 with the current logfile of the Mac: They are identical at the beginning and at the end (termination sequence). But after " Initializing AuScripting"  there is a "DLMS 6.0x39 FileServer startup code: 0" and the listing of a couple of codecs in the Notebook logfile - but not so in the Mac logfile.
    Also the logfile of my workstation with a working Au CS6 shows this "DLMS 6.0x39 FileServer startup code" - line. Because of the two working and one crashing computer this part of the logfile seems to be important ??

  • A simple problem with sateful Session beans

    Hi,
    I have a really novice problem with stateful session bean in Java EE 5.
    I have written a simple session bean which has a counter inside it and every time a client call this bean it must increment the count value and return it back.
    I have also created a simple servlet to call this session bean.
    Everything seemed fine I opened a firefox window and tried to load the page, the counter incremented from 1 to 3 for the 3 times that I reloaded the page then I opened an IE window (which I think is actually a new client) but the page counter started from 4 not 1 for the new client and it means that the new client has access to the old client session bean.
    Am I missing anything here???
    Isnt it the way that a stateful session bean must react?
    This is my stateful session bean source.
    package test;
    import javax.ejb.Stateful;
    @Stateful
    public class SecondSessionBean implements SecondSessionRemote
    private int cnt;
    /** Creates a new instance of SecondSessionBean */
    public SecondSessionBean ()
    cnt=1;
    public int getCnt()
    return cnt++;
    And this is my simple client site servlet
    package rezaServlets;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    import javax.ejb.EJB;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import test.SecondSessionRemote;
    public class main extends HttpServlet
    @EJB
    private SecondSessionRemote secondSessionBean;
    protected void processRequest (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException
    response.setContentType ("text/html;charset=UTF-8");
    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter ();
    out.println("<html>");
    out.println("<head>");
    out.println("<title>Servlet main</title>");
    out.println("</head>");
    out.println("<body>");
    out.println("<h1>Our count is " + Integer.toString (secondSessionBean.getCnt ()) + "</h1>");
    out.println("</body>");
    out.println("</html>");
    out.close ();
    protected void doGet (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException
    processRequest (request, response);
    protected void doPost (HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException
    processRequest (request, response);
    }

    You are injecting a reference to a stateful session bean to an instance variable in the servlet. This bean instance is shared by all servlet request, and that's why you are seeing this odd behavior.
    You can use type-leve injection for the stateful bean, and then lookup the bean inside your request-processing method. You may also save this bean ref in HttpSession.
    @EJB(name="ejb/foo", beanName="SecondBean", beanInterface="com.foo.foo.SecondBeanRemote")
    public MyServlet extends HttpServlet {
    ic.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/foo");
    }

  • A problem with a session Access

    Hi Olivier,
    To connect with Forte while running distributed you must use System DNS
    instead of User DNS on the server. The ftexec.exe on your server partition
    will be launched by the NodeMgr running as UID SYSTEM. User DNS are not
    available to processes running as UID SYSTEM.

  • Need help with the session state value items.

    I need help with the session state value items.
    Trigger is created (on After delete, insert action) on table A.
    When insert in table B at least one row, then trigger update value to 'Y'
    in table A.
    When delete all rows from a table B,, then trigger update value to 'N'
    in table A.
    In detail report changes are visible, but the trigger replacement value is not set in session value.
    How can I implement this?

    You'll have to create a process which runs after your database update process that does a query and loads the result into your page item.
    For example
    SELECT YN_COLUMN
    FROM My_TABLE
    INTO My_Page_Item
    WHERE Key_value = My_Page_Item_Holding_Key_ValueThe DML process will only return key values after updating, such as an ID primary key updated by a sequence in a trigger.
    If the value is showing in a report, make sure the report refreshes on reload of the page.

  • Scope of global & pl/sql variable in open_form with new session

    Hi,
    What will be the scope of the Oracle forms global variable & variable declared in a pl/sql pckage, if the value in these variable is updated from the Oracle Form GUI, if the form is opend by using the open_form method with new session or Active session.
    My requirement is , I developed one application with custom user login name & password - not the Oracle username & password.
    But I need to track the user actions on the forms - Inser/Update/Delete action, for this i included user_name as one of the column in the base table, and from the form, initialise this field with login user name.
    I implemented this in the trigger of the base table. But for delete, I am not getting the user name who deleted, only getting the user who created this record, because :NEW is not in scope for after delete trigger. So for the delte, I created a variabe in a PL/SQL package, and created two procedure to set & get the user name to that variable, and from the Form, before delete by using the set method I assign the current login user name to the variable, and in the trigger by using the get() get the user name from the variable, So far this is working fine, my doubt is What will be the value in the variable, if two different user made delete action from at a same time, Whether first user name will be replace with second one, or this variable will be in different session, If I opened the forms by using SESSION parameter. Also can I use Oralce Forms global varaible instead of the PL/SQL varibale.
    Thank in advance.

    Thanks Andreas,
    I did the same way. But my doubt is All the user login will be in different session, I mean, Whether the vairable used to store the user name will be in different session to each Oracle Forms user, it wont overwrite one user name with the next login user name.
    -- Copied from you old message:
    <<On the forms-side after the login, call PK_USER.PR_SET_USER(THE_USER_TAKEN_FROM_SOMEWHERE);
    In your db-triggers where you actually use something like USER, use PK_USER.FK_GET_USER instead>>
    Thanks

  • Issue with sticky sessions

    My application has the following architecture:
    1.) a load balanced Flex frontend with sticky sessions which queries
    2.) a load balanced REST service also with sticky sessions
    The flex frontend queries the service using a Flex HTTPService object.  However, although sticky sessions are enabled on both the flex frontend and
    rest service, we are seeing queries go to different instances. For example
    user will request Flex App1 which will then call RestService1
    then user will request Flex App1 again which will call RestService2(instead of RestService1).
    Has anyone seen this issue before in a load balanced environment?  I need this to work because the REST service does not have a distributed cache, so subsequent requests must hit the same box to use the cache.
    thanks

    NW6 SP5 needs nw6nss5c in order for NSS to work properly; once applied
    then do
    nss /poolrebuild /purge
    on all pools. Make sure you have tested backups first, just in case.
    Also Load Monitor - Server Parameters - NCP. Set Level 2 OpLocks Enabled
    = Off, and Client File Caching Enabled = Off.
    What lan driver, date and version, on the server?

  • Model session not in sync with Http Session

    Hi All,
    I have an application developed in JDev 11.1.1.4 and we are not using ADF Security for login.
    The problem occurring is randomly some of the LOV on my home page are getting null (having no data). These LOVs are populated using the values passed as bind parameter from the login values (basically HTTP session values at web layer). So i added a method in all the task flow to set the session value at the model layer (default method) . Also on each call to the Am Impl call i am setting the value in the HTTP session and then invoking the method, but some how what happens is the Model level session value is not in sync with HTTP session and the list gets empty.
    Any inputs what i can do to get out of this prblm ?
    thnk

    In this case you need to overwrite the activateState/passivateState method of your am and store/reads the values from the xml structure you get as parameters to this methods.
    For more detailed information check the docs http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/bcstatemgmt.htm#sm0495
    By the way, this is nothing you need to open an SR on as it's working as designed.

  • Globals and Open_Form with new session

    How are Globals treated when calling Open_Form with the SESSION parameter? Are they session specific?
    I am trying to pass information between two forms within different sessions. Would parameters allow me to do this? Is there a way of passing globals between forms in different sessions?
    thanks in advance
    n

    Sorry but global variables are specific to session and do not span over multiple sessions. U could use parameter forms instead.

  • Insufficient privileges when creating MV with alter session set current_sch

    I observed similiar issue with regular View also in 9.2.0.6 also.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Sounds like your management needs a stern lecture on the concept of change management. <g>
    I am not debating what you do. I am questioning the logic, or lack thereof, of doing it that way. My recommendation would be to change your procedure to one that:
    A. Is more in line with good change management practices.
    B. Works.

  • IIS Blocks pages with a session ID

    [This followup was posted to weblogic.developer.interest.plug-in and a copy was sent to the cited author.]
    Hello,
    I'm having problems trying to get IIS to proxy page requests, which have
    a session ID in them, to a WebLogic 6.0 Server.
    For example, the following page is accepted through IIS:
    http://www.mydomain.com/index.jsp?L=en&C=AU
    The IIS HTTP log indicates a successful match:
    2001-10-29 00:24:54 SYD00142 - 149.44.68.240 80 GET /index.jsp - 200
    Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+5.5;+Windows+NT+5.0)
    However, this URL, which contains session information, will not be
    passed through:
    http://www.mydomain.com/index.jsp;jsessionid=O9k6fLq3!
    8748738969133413066!-1792260880!1234!1235?L=en&C=AU
    The IIS HTTP log indicates an unsuccessful match:
    2001-10-29 00:25:11 SYD00142 - 149.44.68.240 80 GET

    The IIS proxy settings are as follows:

    Extension: .jsp
    Verbs: All Verbs
    Script Engine: Enabled

    Does anyone know the correct IIS configuration to proxy through pages
    with a page extension containing session information?

    Installation directory: D:\bea\WebLogicCommerce3.5
    Thank you.

    Indeed, after speaking with local BEA support here in Australia and
    speaking to MS I'm of the same opinion. However this isn't an acceptable
    solution for the application I'm working on. Path by file extension is
    the preferred method. Does this mean that what I'm requiring cannot be
    achieved with an IIS/WL6.0 combination? Should BEA talk to MS about
    supporting RFC standards like Apache and iPlanet?
    In article <3bf2af90$[email protected]>, [email protected] says...
    I believe this is a limitation of IIS. The servlet spec does say that for
    url rewriting, the jsessionid must be encoded as a path parameter which
    needs the ;.
    SRV.7.1.3 URL Rewriting
    URL rewriting is the lowest common denominator of session tracking. When a
    client
    will not accept a cookie, URL rewriting may be used by the server as the
    basis
    for session tracking. URL rewriting involves adding data, a session id, to
    the URL
    path that is interpreted by the container to associate the request with a
    session.
    The session id must be encoded as a path parameter in the URL string. The
    name of the parameter must be jsessionid. Here is an example of a URL
    containing
    encoded path information:
    http://www.myserver.com/catalog/index.html;jsessioid=1234
    I am unsure as to why IIS does not handle the ;. It should as that is part
    of the HTTP Spec as well.

    Hi Konstantin,
    it has nothing to do with the number of system threads. You are obviously executing several function modules statefully in multiple threads within the same session context. Stateful requests can only be executed in an ordered manner in case they should belong together. You are using ARFC2, which is part of the WebDynpro runtime. In case you are sure that the calls are independent from each other, it might be a good idea to adjust the scope type of some of your bindings. Then the requests will be executed with different scopes depending on your configuration and you can execute them concurrently

  • What if we acquired a UoW with client session in JTS env?

    Dear all,
    According to the application developer guide, session 7.5.2.5 - Using a Unit of Work When No External Transaction Exists,
    ======
    When getActiveUnitOfWork returns a null Unit of Work, there is no existing external transaction. You must start a new external transaction.
    Do this either by starting an external transaction explicitly using the UserTransaction interface, or by acquiring a new Unit of Work using the acquireUnitOfWork method on the server session.
    ======
    What if the application acquire the UoW with client session instead?
    Thanks and regards,
    William

    William,
    Acquiring the UnitOfWork from a client session or Server session will accomplish the same thing.
    One thing I would caution you on is that if your application is using JTA then I typically avoid having TopLink ever start the transaction. In this scenario the transactions should always be started by a container managed method on an EJB or through a UserTransaction. TopLink starting a JTA transaction would be an atypical usage.

  • Why Firefox always opens with last session tabs?

    When I open firefox always opens with last session tabs? How can I fix it?

    You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the <b>browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once</b> pref to true.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once
    The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
    You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: "Open with"; do not double-click).
    The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
    You can delete the user.js file if you didn't create this file yourself.
    You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
    *Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
    Windows hides some file extensions by default.
    Among them are .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see file name without file extension.
    You can see the real file type (file extension) in the properties of the file via the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer.
