NullpointerException while returning XML bean from JDBC Control

Hi,
I have a simple jdbc control method which returns multiple rows of a table. i am trying to get the data in XML bean format and followed the instruction provided in the help documentation.
None of the columns in table has null values.
The exception I am getting is
Exception in getActiveAlertList

Any help is appreciated.

Hi!
I?m facing this same problem.
Have you found a solution?
I also tried to migrate an WL 8 application, that works with a DB Control, but got the error anyway.
If you, or someone else, found the solution, please share. I?d appreciate.
Thanks.

  • Heap space error while creating XML document from Resultset

    I am getting Heap space error while creating XML document from Resultset.

    After spending 2+ hrs with Hyperion Support nothing got resolved.. Just to give more background on this problem, we originally reconfigured all Hyperion components to use different SQL server, that is when the problem started happening as soon as we got to Planning Instance Configuration. Could this be the situations when old server name is still somewhere in the system?.. Could this be Shared Services problem.

              Radha,
              We have a client/server package which speaks SOAP over a
              streaming HTTP channel for which we are writing a WebLogic
              servlet. For reasons of efficiency, we want to deserialize
              only the very top-level tags of the messages as they pass
              through the servlet. Yes, in theory, we should probably
              deserialize and validate the entire message contents...
              When we add support for other clients, we will fully
              deserialize inside those servlets.
              I have not looked any further into how to stop the inner
              tags from being escaped yet -- it is an annoyance more than
              a disaster, since the client handle meta escapes.
              My current guess is to use ECMAScript mapping...

  • Returning XML Data from a database

    Ok, just got the new DW CS3 and really want to begin using
    the built in Spry capabilitites. All of the examples I've seen for
    populating the datasets with XML data are based on referencing a
    static XML file. I want to query my database and return XML data to
    a Spry Table. How do I accomplish this? I know how to perform the
    query and retrun the data in an XML format (ColdFusion) but I can't
    tell the spry dataset to use this. HELP!!

    Well, that's the trick... I can't point to a testing server
    (i.e. Application interface) because we aren't permitted to have
    the RDS login where I work. (They haven't bothered to configure the
    CF server for restricting access) I have to manually create all
    connections and queries. I'm currenlty using the exact format in
    the example page you provided to return the data in an XML format
    but when I point to that file as my datasource I get nothing
    displayed on the page. The file that performs the query and returns
    the data is in a separate file from the one I'm trying to use the
    Spry table in. When I use this same query file for an Ajax call to,
    say, populate a listbox or pulldown menu it works fine, but I can't
    get it to work with the Spry dataset.

  • Func returns Cursor problems from JDBC

    I'm wanting to hide implementation behind a function and call from JDBC / SQL
    select a,b,c from tbl where d in ( myFunc ( ? ) )
    My function is:
    FUNCTION F_GET_DEPTS
      ( sup_cuid IN varchar2 )
      RETURN  sys_refcursor IS
    my_depts sys_refcursor;
    BEGIN
        open my_depts for select dept_id from department where lead_cuid = sup_cuid;
        return my_depts;
    END;I test from sql navigator:
    select * from f_get_depts( 'mm9546' )
    or
    select f_get_depts( 'mm9546' ) from dual
    both fail with different error messages.

    the above procedure returns a ref cursors, if u need to use this in SQL plus
    u should declare a variable like this..
    var c refcursor,
    var ecode number;
    and then execute like this
    exec Ref_types_getall(:c,:ecode)
    after it executes, type
    print c
    the above print stmt will print the resultset
    print ecode
    this will print the error code if any has been set

  • Returning java bean from web service

    hello i just want to know if it is still platform independent if i make an array of java bean object as a return value from a webservice?
    if the return value of a webservice is a java bean, is it required for the client to have a copy of the java bean class? what will happen if the client of the java webservice is in PHP or other language besides java? will it still be compatible?
    thanks in advance guys..

    Yes, you should be able to return a Java bean from a Web service. What will happen is your web service framework, such as JAX-WS (http://jax-ws.dev.java.net) will generate WSDL and Schema that describes the operation and its use of Java bean. Then the client web service framework used will take the WSDL and Schema description and generate something that can marshal/unmarshal the contents of the bean.

    Hi,
    There might be possibility that the page you are running might be getting called from another page from the instance.
    If that is the case, PR method will not be getting the parameters required.
    Check the PR method of CO file.

  • Some data is missing while returning complex datatype from a web service

    Hi
    I am returning a complex data type from a web service. complex data type has a super class and some(not all) values from this super class are not being returned to the client. Strange part is that it giving some fields from super class and some values are not returned.
    I saw the soap response also it does not show any tag for those fields. but while creating a response i am setting some string values to those fields but i am not getting at client side.
    all the serailiastion and deseialization classes where created using ANT tasks and i have checked that all the cedec classes have been created.

    for what it's worth, the same problem was reported by one of our developers, although the string size was considerably smaller (probably less then 1 MB). According to him, soap clients generated from apache tools could connect fine and process the XML records. JDev hung. We simply changed our use case to return smaller results sets, but perhaps you could also generate your clients with WSDL2Java rather then JDev (if it is a truly a bug in JDev SOAP)? Can you add record parameters to the payload, in order to limit the results and scroll between remaining rows?

  • Error while loading xml files using JDBC

    Hi,
    I am trying to load xml files into an xmltype table using JDBC calls and am getting this error for some files
    LPX-00200: could not convert from encoding UTF-8 to UCS2
    The xml files and our database are both UTF-8 encoded. The version of oracle that we have here is 9.2.0.6
    Any suggestions in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Uma

    I also experienced this problem and unfortunately this solution didn't work for me given that the tag you suggested was already on the XML file.
