Nullriver netshare and open source tethering solution for iPhone

While Nullrivers netshare is banned and Apple and AT&T is delaying the tethering plan, how about an opensource tethering solution for iPhone?
I was thinking to create a google code project to do just that. But I heard that the possibility of tethering itself is bricked in 2.1.
Does anybody have more information on this?

I have great interest in tethering. But seems like a black art. Anybody know this art?

No, it's done on the computer, it's just done on the web and not through iTunes. I guess you could do it on the iPhone, but it would be easier to do on the computer.
Just go to the site linked above, then click on the big blue button and fill out the neccessary information.

On his phone, sign in Settings>iCloud and enable Mail so that he can have his own email address. Then add your account in Settings>Mail, Contacts & Calendars and enable Contacts and Calendars. They will then appear on his phone alongside any syncing he has set up. This will keep your emails separate, or you can add Mail as well so that you can both access that if you want. You can add his account in the same way on your phone and enable any data types you want to sync.

  • Difference between SAP/APO/DP and the SAP/CRM solution for forecasting

    Hi,
Can you please help me identifying the main differences between SAP/APO/DP and the SAP/CRM solution for forecasting? Advantages and disadvantages?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi LCD777,
Forecasting at DP & CRM are altogether at different entities.  CRM involves webbased data transfer mechanism tool whereas DP is database/livecache driven tool.
In CRM, you dont get optimised solution of forecasting out of it whereas in DP you can get as much as
optimised solution & flexibility as per your requirements.
DP is majorly a forecasting tool where in huge statistical method functionalities are embedded in
whereas CRM is majorly a transactional tool wherein it involves gathering of forecast data and executing it.
Typically, CRM will be integrated with DP containing GATP environment & ECC so that DP will plan for forecast data, ECC system drives sales order data & GATP calls for availability check and finally
the forecast execution& transactions will be controlled by CRM

hi, when zooming in to capture still images, the image is really blurred and out of focus. is this a hardware issue and is there any solution for this?? or is my device faulty?

If you are using the iPhone camera zoom then remember that this is a digital zoom not an optical zoom. The zoomed in area will have fewer pixels and not appear as clear. The more you zoom the worse it gets. It's like cropping a picture after it has been taken.

  • Battery Solutions for iPhone 5 - From 4 to 12 hours Usage

Battery Solutions for iPhone 5 - From 4 to 12 hours Usage
    First:
iCloud sync is a great battery consumer
1** iCloud: turn off mail, safari and reminders. Only keep contacts, notes, photo stream and documents data
2** Use cellular data for iCloud documents and reading list only.
3** Notes to save on iPhone, not on iCloud.
4* Avoid downloading new Apps or updates if not on power. It's better to download all updates on a computer and synchronise to update them.
5* Avoid looking at videos on line if not on power.
    6* Games consume a lot
    Second: if not enough
7* Brightness to bring on top of the letter "t" of Brightness. Sometimes the brightness goes automatically to 75%, too high. Put it back.
8* In mail, fetch new data, advanced, check that all accounts are fetch manual
    Third: Additional Optional tips
9* Wifi ask to join networks off
10* Bluetooth off when no need, turn off WiFi if in an area with no WiFi, avoid Personal Hotspot: great battery consumer.
11* Turn off iPhone manually. Don't wait for iPhone to turn it off.
12* Let the battery exhaust totally until it turns off before to recharge it.
13 Kill The Apps unused from time to time, in case one application uses too much in back ground
14 The Reset All Settings solves nothing. It just creates problems to rekey in everything.

    Just a followup:
To summarize:  I upgraded to an iPhone 5 a few days ago and the first thing I did was restore from my iPhone 4 iCloud backup. After that I was experiencing the things some people here complain of: running hot and battery draining quickly.
But I then reset as a new iPhone and synced in all my apps, music, photos, etc. from iTunes and now it is running cool - even after using it continually for 90 minutes or 2 hours and the battery drain is acceptably within specs.
    This screen shows
    Usage: 4 Hours, 0 Minutes
    Standby: 19 Hours, 28 Minutes
    Battery at 44%.
    That would "multiply out" to
    Usage: 7 Hours, 14 Minutes
    Standby: over 34 hours
when the battery is fully used up.
I believe that is pretty reasonable and within specs.
I will try an experiment after my next full charge of turning off cellular data though (except when absolutely needed) for comparison.
I'm not saying some people aren't having some power-draining issue due to their carrier. But even without 5 bars standing the issue for me seemed to have been the attempt to restore from my iPhone 4's iCloud backup instead of installing as a new iPhone and syncing.

  • When i connect my iphone to my laptop and open itunes it shows my iphone has nothing on it(no music, no movies, etc...) then when i try to sync it says iphone is is full and can only put in a selected amount of songs

when i connect my iphone to my laptop and open itunes it shows my iphone has nothing on it(no music, no movies, etc...) then when i try to sync it says iphone is is full and can only put in a selected amount of songs. Take in mind this is my first time to sync with this laptop(HP 15 ENVY) and as well my laptop is just brand new. just got it a week ago. so how do i fix this prob. and also when i open my itunes store and then view my account it says error occurred either debug it through Microsoft visual studio or close program. I tired copying all the .dll files to the itunes folder didn't help

I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. Check your trash can on the desktop. The old version is automatically moved to the trashcan. You should be able to move it from the trashcan back to the Apps folder within the iTunes folder. The update that was pushed out was for iBooks to work with iOS 7 not iPhone 5. iOS 7 was released today.

  • Why Adobe doesn't use the open source codec x264vfw for Elements as .AVI?

Well we all know who wants to work with the x264vfw that it does not work in Premiere Elements.
But i think Adobe could have make it work with the open source x264vfw or with the AVC-Intra coder.
I am still asking me also why it would work when i do re-encode it with another program to h264 again but as MP4?
Adobe does itself make it really easy and messing with us. because they are saying there is support for h264 but only for MP4 and another one...
Why they don't add .AVI support that goes to the support of Adobe because i can't get into the livechat.... because its only under the week....
This Codec the H264 X264 and AVC-1 are the most used codecs today in my opinion so i don't know why they don't sit their Dev's on that.
ALSO that it does not work on their 600$ Application named Premiere Pro is something that i don't understand...
For me its unbelievable if i am honest.
I now want to know why adobe is such a service desert in this point.
They all yelling about that but Adobe does nothing.
If somebody knows a solution without re-encoding or FFMPEG solution, because it does not work well with my Variable Frame Rate in Premiere Elements let it me know.
Also i want an Answer from Adobe why they don't do anything.
I tried to put the x264vfw .dll into plugins or the folder but the problem is not solved.
I am sitting for Quiet a time behind that and see how many threads there existing... and it's only frustrating.
ADOBE it's time to do something!!!

I still think that a lot of peoples have done that. When you see how many persons are suffering by this problem...
Well i have not known about the Adobe Staff tags that they are not the real help from the real support.
    Thank you about that.
Normally i would send a mail but there is no option for that... to they're support team.
I said that it hard for me to get some support under the week. I have to work from 6am until 5pm with driving. and have to do some things a home.
Feature Request/Bug Report Form i think will not help or have you used it and got an answer? I want an answer not only request something.
" We normally do not send personal replies to feature requests or bug reports. We do, however, read each and every message. We use the information to improve our products and services. Your comments, suggestions, and ideas for improvements are very important to us. We appreciate you taking the time to send us this information. "
And yes i buied last year Premiere Elements to Christmas time.
I still don't understand why they didn't add support for H264, h264, X264, x264 and AVC-1 for .AVI wrapper when they have the licenses for the codec...
Also .AVI is really often used... not like .MKV

  • Whats the best open source verilog simulator for T1 regressions?

Is Icarus good for this? Or, is there any other better than this.
I am new to this, if someone have used any free simulator with opensparc work then please let me know about which simulator you used and the advantages of it.

I personally saw many uses of mySQL in production environments.
Generally speaking, lots of open-source solutions are being successfully used by lots of companies in their production environments, and the idea that they are somehow inferior to commercial solutions has no base in facts, in my view.
As for as comparison between MySQL and PostgreSQL :

  • [Solved] Slow graphics with RS780M and open source ati driver

EDIT: Well this is embarrasing. Guess this is why there's a new comers forum. I assumed since I installed a couple days ago my system was up to date. However, running pacman -Syu updated my kernal and it works fine now. SOLVED (I'm an idiot)
Hello Arch community. I've been using Ubuntu for a couple years so know that my hardware can work well enough with linux. Almost everything works great with arch with little setup, but I'm stumped as to how to setup the graphics card.
I'm attempting to use the open source drivers, either xf86-video-ati or xf86-video-radeonhd (I don't care which I use in the end). I have both installed so I can try out both, assuming that doesn't cause problems. I've never tried using the catalyst driver in arch, so I know I don't have remenents of that causing problems. Right I have gnome working, but when dragging a window, resizing a window, scrolling, or watching a video I can see the screen slowly refresh. It is definetly not right.
Here's the information that might help:

I've also tried it with many xorg.conf files without finding any which give me the same graphics performance I have in ubuntu. Here's the one I was using, with the comments showing some other things I tried.

  • Open Source project - request for interest

    Hi,
I know this may not be the most appropriate place for this but I couldnt find anywhere else. The project is due to start up in early 2006. The technology is Java based and supports J2EE. It enables developers to work at a high level and generate apps very quickly and more complex functionality can be built using Java to address requirements.
I thought I would post this here for anyone interested in participating in a new Open Source project for a Java development tool.
I apologise in advance if anyone gets upset over this post - but I thought Java developers should be aware of the project.
    Thanks.
Be in at the start of an exciting new Open Source initiative!
If you're a Java developer and you'd be interested in participating in the development of a new UK-based Open Source project then read on.
The project would seek to take an existing, powerful J2EE-based rapid web application development tool on to the next level. Sitting happily alongside other well-known open source names such as Red Hat, MySQL and JBoss, it enables the building and deploying of J2EE-based web applications in a fraction of the time that it would otherwise take to develop them. But the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
So, if you're interested in contributing to the evolution of this project please email us at [email protected] with your contact details and we will be in touch with you.

Thanks for the ponter, I will check it out.
    hth,
    Sean
