NUM LOCK toggles on and off

I've just started having problems with my NUM LOCK.  For the last 3 years I've had it off - no problems.  Now all of a sudden it's toggling on and off by itself.
I've gone into registry editor for Keyboard and set the InitialKeyboardIndicators to zero - is that right?  The default has no value.
I have a Satellite A505-S6015 laptop.
Any help is much appreciated - thank you.

  • Sound toggles on and off when I hit the "0" key on a 2010 Mac Mini.

Whenever I hit the zero key on an Apple keyboard using a 2010 Mac Mini, the sound toggles on and off.  It does not happen when I use the keyboard with a 2012 Macbook Pro.  There can be times when the sound toggles when I am not even typing. I upgraded to Mountasin  Lion, but this did not resoilbve the issue.  I have disabled remote control.
Thanks to all for your help.

    Hi John,
That's often a sign of a bsad Capacitor in the Power Supply, but...
Might be time to replace the PRAM Battery, 4 years is close to their lifespan, far less if ever without AC power, & can cause strange startup problems...

  • Spry Validation Toggle On and Off

    Hi everyone,
Is there a way to toggle On and Off an event for validation,
for example if I attach an event like this
    var handle = new Spry.Widget.ValidationSelect("handle",
    {invalidValue:"-1", validateOn: ['change']});
Is there any way to detach it.
    Thank you,,,,,,

Im attaching this event with a function, thus calling the
destroy method outside the function will
not work, could you recommend a way to attaching the event so
that the handle variable will be global...
Thanks again, for your time !!!

  • Toggle on and off apple auto raw adjustments

After upgrading to aperture 3 I noticed I no longer can toggle on and off Apertures Raw auto adjustment, How can I do this?

sorry for taking so long to reply and thank you for taking the time to post.... I think what I was looking for was the
M=  Show Master, I believe this lets me see the raw file without the auto camera adustments applied in Aperture..
I was a little disapointed in some of the image, when they look different in my cameras screen.. then I loaded the images directly on my desktop, they infacted look different... maybe aperture makes the popular perfect adjustment but as an artist, that's not always a style I'm looking for.. Thanks..
If showing the master is not what I am looking for feel free to let me know.. Thanks

  • Shortcut for toggling on and off the preview after developing

I am searching for a shortcut to toggle on and off the preview of the developed Picture. So I can see "Before and After".
There is written in the German Version of the Shortcut List: Nur Vorher anzeigen -- \
Be aware that it is not / which you will get with SHIFT-7 but for \ you have to SHIFT-ALT-7.
This shortcut marks the picture into yellow and does not as intended.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi dj_paige,
yes you are quite right. It is the backslash as you may see in the original post. It is SHIFT-ALT 7 and this will generate "\".
And also it is said to be exactly for this purpose (Before-After). But it does´t do so. That was my question.
I also had since then contact to Support from Adobe, but they could not help either.

  • Help! 3G Toggles On and Off - No Down Arrow - Droid 2 Global

I have encountered a problem on my Droid 2 Global.  The 3G symbol toggles on and off constantly.  Sometimes it appears with an up arrow but never with a down arrow.  I cannot access the Internet.
Things I know or have tried:
    1. There aren't any new apps.  This happened out of the blue.
    2. Data is enabled.
    3. I have booted into Safe Mode.  I still have the same problem.
    4. I removed the battery.  I still have the same problem.
    5. I did *228.  I still have the same problem.
I do not know if this is just a coincidence or another symptom of the problem but I am also having trouble making calls.  Recently when I try to make a call from the contact list and I press send, nothing happens.  I see the 3G toggling but the call isn't made.  It's only when I then press the back icon that the call is sent.
    Help!

It seems to me the only things that could cause your symptoms are a bad charger which is shutting off when the extra charging current is drawn, or a bad battery which is open circuit and won't accept a charge (goes instantly to full-charge Voltage). It sounds like the computer will run off the battery, so the latter isn't likely. Other possible culprits would be a confused PMU which didn't really get reset (there's more than one way to reset a PMU, so be sure you're doing the right one for your model iBook), a loose power input connection, or a broken wire at the power plug.
There's also a chip in the battery, and they sometimes get confused. Cycling the battery (full discharge followed by a full charge) sometimes helps. There is a battery reset utility, but I don't know if it works on G4s.

Cap Lock and Num Lock is working , but their leds always is off.
I don't find any Linux driver in Toshiba support web site. How I solve this problem?

Hi. Are you sure this is a Linux-issue? Please try this: reboot the unit and press F12 several times when the Toshiba logo is shown. When the boot menu is shown try Caps and Num lock again.
    Same issue or not?

  • How do I turn on NUM LOCK with Leopard and apples new keyboard?

Am I missing something with Leopard and the new keyboard, how do I turn on Num Lock?
    thanks,
    Jeff

well OSX doesnt necessarily use "num lock", unless of course your using bootcamp?
but either way here is the keyboard chart/mapping comparison:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304270
(clear is generally "num lock" jsut press it to use. or F6 or maybe fn & F6 on the wireless new keyboard)
    hope that helps?

  • IBook G4 charge toggles on and off

All of the sudden, when we plug in our MacAlly PS-AC4 charger into our iBookG4, the computer recognizes that a plug has been inserted, goes into charging mode (the icon at the top changes), the screen goes brighter -- and then less than a second later, it changes back into battery mode (dimmer screen, different icon) -- and then it changes back again, over and over. Not only is this distracting, the computer is not charging.
I read through a bunch of messages on this board and tried a number of suggestions. Here's some facts:
    - The iBook is less than 2 years old and very gently used
    - The input isn't wiggly or moving at all
    - We got the MacAlly 2 mos ago after the factory charger stopped working at all. Until recently, we've had 0 problems.
    - I reset the PMU
    - When the charger is inserted while the computer is on, system information does not recognize it as inserted.
    - When turned off, the computer does appear to take a charge.
    - The battery stats seem to me (a non-techie) to be fine.
    Battery Installed: Yes
    First low level warning: No
    Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 4366
    Remaining Capacity (mAh): 2041
    Amperage (mA): -1082
    Voltage (mV): 11211
    Cycle Count: 47
I'm beginning to think that the fault lies with the MacAlly charger. However, are there any other possible causes I'm not seeing? Anything else we can do or try? Thanks in advance for your help!

  • MacBook Keyboard Caps Lock and Num Lock are working in reverse!!!

Ok, this sounds very strange...my keyboard on my MacBook only works when both the num lock and caps lock keys are depressed (so the green lights are illuminated). if the num lock is off then the keyboard does not work. if num lock is on and caps lock is off then the keys only type in ALL CAPS. if both num lock and caps lock are on (green lights) then the keyboard behaves as it should--except it's supposed to be that the num lock and caps lock keys should be off! I've checked system prefs for keyboard and mouse and for universal access, i've reset to defaults, i've restarted the machine...NOTHING works!
Has anyone ever seen this before? Any clue what to do?
    thanks
    Mark

Do computers have child diseases? My computer's immune system now seems to have taken care of the caps lock/num lock problem. I haven't had any inverted startups in weeks now. Very strange!
In my experience, the treatment is to ignore the fact caps lock/num lock is lit, and to restart the computer. If you need to log in to restart, do it as if startup was normal, since caps lock/num lock is not actually turned on.
And hope for the natural healing.
    Does anyone have different experiences?

I would be happy to assist you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. Which Windows operating system am I running?

  • Detecting engaged num lock

I have a brand new envy dv6.  I can't tell if the num lock is engaged.   I don't see any indicator light as I'm acustomed to seeing.   How can I tell if num lock is engaged or off?  In any number of pw's I have a numberal(s).  My entries are often rejected *because* num lock of off and the key pad is not entering a number.  Please help.

Thanks for trying to help.  I do know to toggle the num lock key.  Problem is that unlike every other computer I've used previously, I can't find an indicator light anywhere -- the key itself, the keys along the top to the keyboard (etither side of the function keys etc.).   I was assuming there's an indictor somewhere and I just need to find it.
Do you know where?  Does anyone know where?

  • Num lock light

    Hello everyone.
After I updated the bios from my P6N SLi Platinum to version 1.5, my num lock won't go off when I shut the pc down.
I've looked through my bios but I can't seem to make it go off when I shutdown
I've also tried removing the OC from the CPU and loaded default settings but it still stays on after shutdown.
    Does anyone have any suggetions.
    My specs are below
    Thx for your help

    I completly shutdown.
S3 is enabled in BIOS, set it to s1, doesn't make a difference.
    I'm pretty confused now
If I choose to not boot up num lock it's out, but when system is shutdown I still can turn it on and off
