Number conflicks in numberranges

Good Evening
We are busy with our Lync 2013 deployment on all our campuses. We want to keep our exiting telephone number prefix (382) for all our campuses. The issue now is that two of our distant campuses which consist of about a 100 extension users each,
has a number conflict with our main campus. The two distant campuses has a different prefix as well. For example the main campus has 382-3500 and the distant campus 745-3500. With a Snom IP phone I could log on with two different accounts simultaneous.
Thus meaning the client will have 3500 on his phone and 1000. With the 1000 number the staff members from the main campus will be able to dial the user of 3500 on the distant campus. Now my question is how do I route the number 3500 when dialled at the
distance campus to reach the user on ext 3500 on the main campus? All three sites breakout local for external calls.  My suggestion was to add a unique digit to 3500 range which should be route to the main campus. This being said we want to
keep it as simple as possible for both campuses to dial each other.
Best regards
Eugene

Ideally, an office should have the same main number, each office should use unique extension range.
You use 382-3500 for main campus and 756-3500 for distant campus, it is possible to have number conflict. Please use different number range for each campus.

  • Use of a fixed  reusable Handling (Shipping) Unit number

    Dear Forum members,
    Initial AS-IS information :
    SAP IS-Retail  4.7 Environment
No real Handling Unit Management but only Shipping Units
Closed loop system customer development for delivery on crate level between
distribution center and the customer's retail outlets established.
Integrated solution using idoc interface to sorter system in DC and own created RF
transactions to support all steps in the DC process enabled by RF transactions and own created crate status management tables.
    Now TO-BE request :
Upgrade of the current solution using "fixed Handling Unit" numbering.
Advantages are savings in efficiency as the printing and applying of
crate labels is labor extensive and besides costs a fixed Handling Unit can leverage an ease of use when upgrading from RF to RFID supported processes for our client.
    Issue :
As the client cannot use the real Handling Unit Management functionality
the SAP standard HU02 transactions and configuration of HU user statusses
does not have any influence because the existing function modules do not pass the information required to make a change to a Handling Unit possible.
I implemented note 1083778 but this applies only for the triggering
    using HU management.
Is there anybody that has also been in a similar situation and has been looking for a solution to the problem descibed here ?
My current approach is to go through following steps :
    1. Investigate whether or not I need to use a modification to the SAP HU status
object as this now blocks emptying of the Handling Unit.
    2. Investigate SAP behaviour when deleting a Handling Unit from tables VEKP and
VEPO. Perhaps also HU status tables need to be emptied.
    3. Investigate use of own function module to unassign the Handling Unit from its
allocated " old " delivery number.
    3. When HU number can be reused (after Goods Receipt at store) we will create
a function module that can either be called from a RF transaction code or from
an RFID created message that will arrange the HU number to be available for
        new delivery processes.
    4. Return crates will still be numbered uniquely at the store and have a external
numberrange as well. A return crate will keep its number and will also be re-
used as a "returns loop of crates"  The idea is that "return crates can be easily
identified and also physically be distinguished from regular "outbound crates" .
Hopefully some of you recognize the idea and perhaps have some hints or tips and tricks in getting this development up-and-running.
Any input welcome a lot !

  • SD - Billing - External Number Range

    Hi,
I have two questions related to SD billing document numbering:-
    1. I am getting error message of [Please specify an internal number range Message no. NR752] while saving a billing document based on the delivery. I have checked only external number range box in VN01. Do I need to use any user-exit for this? If yes then there are 2 user exits available -
    a) USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE_INV_DATE USING US_RANGE_INTERN in program RV60AFZC
                              b) FORM USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE USING US_RANGE_INTERN in program RV60AFZZ
but both the cases the variable is US_RANGE_INTERN which is not allowing external number range ID to pass. How this external no range works.?
    2. I have a business requirement for our Mexican company code on external alphanumeric number. There would be 3 billing types say, ZF2, YF2 and ZYF2. Mexican government provides Invoice numbers in advance.
ZF2 Number range would be A001 to A999
YF2 Number range would be B001 to B999
ZYF2 Number range would be C001 to C999.
All these Invoices would be created at same time. i.e. parallel processing. Also all these invoices would be transmitted thru EDI -IDOC. And accounting document should have same number as billing document will carry i.e. external govt provided numbers.
How do I map this in systems. My experience says alphanumeric number range is not supported by SAP. Anybody may share his solution on this would be simply great.
    Thanks

  • Enable multiple PO numberranges to support SRM Classic implementation.

    Hi Experts,
We have implemented SRM 7.0 Classic Implimentation.
We currently have one PO number range which is assigned to one PO document type to support North America and Canada region.
We are planning to go for roll-out for Latin America, Europe and Asia pacific.
Here the client requirement is that they need to have one PO numberrange per Company.
Can any one suggest what ios the BADI that can be used to achieve this. Backend ECC we can have as many PO document type but how can this be managed in SRM.
Thanks in advance please help me with BADI or any other means this can be achieved.
    Regards,
    B.N.Karthikeyan

    Hi,
We are in Classic scenario implementation and hence the standard SRM does not have capability to manage multiple number ranges for PO.
My question can this be possible to have multiple PO number ranges in Classic scenario based on the company code of the user given in the user attribute.
SAP MM side I dont have any problem. Only thing is during transfer process how do we achieve selecting different number ranges if I maintain multiple numer ranges in SRM in the maintain intervals.
Do we have any BADI to achive this expectation. As the customising does not allow us to maintain differnt Number ranges for same logical backend ECC system.

  • Change FI doc number range indicator from internally to externally assigned

    Hi,
I created a new numberrange for 2011 but did not check the Ext (external number range indicator).
When I try to change it to external by trying to mark the option, it does not work.
    What can cause this ??
    Thanks in advance,
    regards
    Peter

    Hi,
check your settings in FBN1 for the number range. if the document number was assigned intially as internal and you are changing the setting in the next year system would not allow the change. The setting of No range is Co code specific if you change in one co code you will have to change in the other co codes.
Please check and let me know.

  • OM Implementation: Re-Number Org Unit Number Ranges.

    Hi Experts,
My client wants to implement OM module in SAP HR.
The requirement is : They need defined number ranges for org Units in OM. However the existing number ranges for Org Units in PA module do not fit in the range. How do I satisfy this requirement without any impact ?
FYI: Personnel Administration(PA), US Payroll , Benefits and FI-CO is already implemented.
    Regards,
    Somdeb.

Sounds like the problem is not maintaining different number ranges per object type (which is standard to do), but to not have these conflict with existing number range  in T527 tables.
I am not sure how this transfer from just using PA to using integration will work.  You will have to check the different RHINTE-reports to make out a strategy how to do this transfer.   When you start using OM, where will correct data regarding org.units be?  You will neeed to run some integration to establish a new startingpoint after integration is switched on.  If this creates conflict between existing numberranges in PA and wanted ranges in OM, you may have to do some coding in PA0001 first.

  • Delete SC when req. number ia assigned

    Hi Experts,
    I am facing a problem.
I have created a SC without the vendor is assigned. SRM try to create a Req. but no numberrange has been set up in back-end. In table BBP_PDBEI a Req. number is assigned to the SC, comming from SRM. No Reg. is created in back-end. How do I delete this SC? I have tried FM: BBP_PD_SC_DB_DELETE with a commit afterwards. This did not delete the SC.

  • Employee Download - HR* prefix in Number range

Our requirment when we download employee from ECC the prefix of Number range should be HR* we defined same number range with prefix HR----- and mark as Ext. but while download it takes only sales prospect number range.
What extra setting requir for getting HR* prefix number range.
    Regards
    Apoorva

    Hi Phani,
    Thaks for reply,
From config side the numberrange and groupings are assigned and while download the std external grouping also assigned but how it takes prefix HR*
because from ECC it is carring only numerical numbers which is assigned to employee but while downloading it should take prefix HR* and rest would be employee number which is coming from ECC.we have defined the HR0000001 to HR9999999 as external but through idoc carring eg. 10036 so in CRM it should be as HR0010036. For getting this what extra config i have to do.or it requir some abap devlopment.

    Hi Ravi,
There are a lot of FM's ( NUMBERRANGE* ) from se37 which can be used to get the information you need.

  • Number ranges  transport -urgent

    Hi
When we use copy company code function,as i noticed the number ranges of the
source company code will be will be copied for the target company code.
When i see the number ranges after transporting to QAS all number range status are set to zero for the target company code .when i checked the request it  contains  NIRV Table entries for the target company code.
Now my question is ,copy company code request contains entries in so many tables including NRIV,If i tranport this request my worry is does it overwrite the
all the PRD number ranges data or just it will updates only the Target company code data.
    Thanks
    Lily

    Hi,
When you copy a company it copied the number ranges to the target company and put this in the transport for the new company code (not the old one).
In the situation I used this it was no problem.
Have a look in your transport and there you can see the key field with the company code for the transport.
When you are not hapy for 100% make screen prints from the numberranges in PRD before you tranport it. When it's go wrong you change it manual back.
(Do only transports dor new companies not existing companies)

Isn't the account group and contact person a different object?

    Account group: DEBITOR
    Contact person: BU_PARTNER
You can create the same numberrange in different objects.

  • HU-SU NUMBER RANGE

Friday Afternoon and I have another question......
I have a warehouse created in an HU Managed SLOC
I have also specified that this Warehouse is SU Managed.
Now I want HU and SU to be same numbers.
    I have set up
HANDLING UNIT MANAGEMENT --> BASICS --> TECHNICAL BASICS --> DEFINE NUMBER RANGES FOR HANDLING UNIT and I have set Interval 01 with some values.
    I have also gone to
LOGISTICS EXECUTION --> WAQREHOUSE MANAGEMENT --> MASTER DATA --> DEFINE NUMBER RANGES
There is my question : Do I need to enter a Number Range Interval for STORAGE UNIT, or is it unnecessary as HU NUMBERS will be used?
Also I understand I have to set up CONVERSION FOR STORAGE UNIT NUMBER in that same screen,
So again my question is in order to have same HU and SU number for an HU managed SLOC, do I need to enter a NumberRange Interval for the SU?
This is an easy one for someone who has done it before.....
    Thanks for your help,
    Alain

    Thanks for your answer.
But I guess when I do not understand it takes a lot of details to explain it to me.....
"When you use HU in your warehouses, it is only the HU number range that is needed to be defined. This number range is considered by the system for the SU's when they are in Warehouse. The HU-SU assignment gets linked when you had assigned the packaging material type to the storage unit type in SPRO for HU at WM node."
OK for that point. I think I understand the link.
But Am I right in saying that If I have also under my warehouse a Storage Location that is not HU Managed, I would need to enter an SU NUMBER RANGE in that warehouse if I want That NON HU MANAGED STORAGE LOCATION to be SU MANAGED?
    Also, in the config under
HANDLING UNIT --> BASICS --> TECHNICAL BASICS --> DEFINE NUMBER RANGE FOR HANDLING UNITS
Am I right in assuming that this number range is internal only and the user has no interaction with these numbers?
    NOW MY QUESTION :
If I am not going to use SSCC.
I still need to enter an EXTERNAL NUMBER RANGE FOR HUs in order to generate the numbers that will be created BY packing IN MY inbound deliveries.
Do I enter that NUMBER RANGE  in the following point of  config under
HANDLING UNITS --> EXTERNAL IDENTIFICATION --> NUMBER RANGE MAINTENANCE FOR HU IDENTIFICATION
If the answer is yes, do I have to select the "EXT" button? I am already in a point of config that creates EXTERNAL IDENTIFICATION.
Are these the numbers that the users will see when Packing and UNPAcking?
Are these the numbers that the users wil use to INQUIRE on the HUs?
    ETC.
IS there another place in the config where I have to enter a NUMBER RANGE FOR THE HUs?
As you can see, I am pretty confused and unsure of myself....and I like to understand things, not only do them......
So if anybody can explain it to me, it will be very appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Alain

  • Missing Number range when trying to create inventory sampling

    Hi,
I tried to create an inventory sampling (Transaction MIS1). I selected a Inv.sampling profile and wanted to save the setting. However I get an error message saying:
For object MATBELEG , number range interval  does not exist OMBT
Looking at that TCode OMBT i do have set number ranges correctly.
Since there is space between the MATBELEG and teh comma I believe that at some place a MATBELEG is set to blank, where it cannot find any corresponding numberrange.
How can I resolve teh problem??
    Thanks fpor your help
    Torsten

number ranges are stored in table NRIV  object MATBELEG
Number ranges can be transported (but only with big care). it can be done from OMBT  menu Interval > transport.
you will get a warning (which should better be an error)  because you transport not only the interval, you transport as well the current number and that will screw up your production system.
better have your basis team open production for a short time frame for customizing ( can be done in SCC4 ) and do it directly in PRD.
