I am looking for a turorial to show me how to create a document with formatting options in Adobe.
Example:
1. Heading Name
a. Sub Heading text.
b. Sub Heading text.

fwiw - "Adobe" is the company name and not a software application.
For what you want you are in the wrong forum. You need an authoring application (word processor / page layout applications).
You need, for example, Adobe FrameMaker or Adobe InDesign or MS Word or some other like application.
Once you have purchased and installed just jump into the application's Help.

I am trying to change the page number format in a section of my document. I want 2 sections to have 2 different page number formats. How can I do this?

I have 2 sections in my Pages document. I am using Insert Auto Pages in footers to number my pages, but when I try to change the number format for one section it changes the format to the same as my change for the other section. I want auto page number in each section but want each section's page numbers to have different formats. I have managed to get the auto page numbering to begin separately in each section, but just can't get the formats to be different. There must be a way to do this. Anyone know how?

Stored Procedure for Batch Number Format and Block Duplicate Batch Number

I am new one in forum asking question.. I want Stored procedure for Batch Number Format. I want fix one Batch number format in Stored Procedure.
Example :
My Batch number format Like BATCH00001 - It should be first five digit is text format and next five is Numeric.
IF create Goods receipt PO or Goods receipt stage I create batch number like BATCH 00001 or any other number means don't add that document and also duplicated batch number also does not allowed. please give me the solutions. I am sorry for my bad english .

              I used above Stored Procedure. here we can use one batch number for different item but i want to block one batch we should use one item and one time only after than we never use that batch number for same item and another item.
         After that I want format for Batch, we should follow unique Batch number for all items.

Reset/Clear Number Format

Hi, I have used my phone overseas with a USA sim card.
Now when I text some people in Australian (from Australia) the phones persists in using the USA number format for text messages - as a result they do not sent
I tried using the overseas sim card to change the phone number format back to Australian, no luck.
I have deleted the contact and all references to them, disabled spotlight search, turned the phone off and on - still no luck.
Any thoughts on how to clear the memory?

That link is what I had originally come across. I tried using the AFNumber_Format, but if I'm not mistaken, that still sets the format to a Javascript function. I'm trying to reset the format to "Number" (as if I had selected "Number" from the "Select format category" instead of "Custom" in the interface)
My goal is to set the PDF up to work without Javascript if the user has it disabled, and enable the javascript functions on startup if they do have it enabled. On closing the document, I want to reset everything to the non-javascript settings so the next time it is opened up by them (or someone else), it will work again if that person doesn't have Javascript enabled. In my limited researching into this, I am starting to think that this is not doable.

Invalid number format for portnumber

I am trying to install Oracle 10G Lite
During this process it requires a password.
Leaving the 1st line unchanged (system) I fill in the 2nd line "Manager" (Which is supposed to be the password)
After this, I get the message
i/o uitzondering: invalid number format for portnumber
Who knows how I can correct this

For repository information, if you have already Oracle 10g server installed and running database. Then you should supply system/password/1521/<sid> information to generate repository. Otherwise no reason to select repository from wizard

Number formating problems

When editing an existing Voice Recognized word document I'm not able to format the numbering so that the text on the second and following lines indents to the same tab that the first line does.
I'm assuming that is because of the way the document was originally formatted.
Is there a way to correct this?

When you ask, be sure to mention the version of Word involved. You may also need to be more specific about what a "Voice Recognized" Word document is - that's not a term I'm familiar with; others may not know what it means, exactly, either.
FWIW a setting in the number format is probably required, but how to do that will depend on the version of Word inolved and what kind of numbering was used.

Global Custom Number format

Hi, I've searched in the forum and help for this to no avail.
It seems that you should be able to define a custom number format and have it stored so that you can use it again. But whenever I do this it only applies to that document.
Is there a way to have custom formats stored in the Cell Format list?

I don't know how to make it "global" but you can open the blank template, make your custom format, then save the document as a template and it will be in any new document you create with that new template.

Export to excel - number format

Our version is SAP ERP Central Component 5.0 and we have just pathed the system from SPS18 to SPS23.
However from that time has change the export to excel functionality. Now after you select List - Export - Spreadsheet you can select either Excel (in Mhtml format) or All available formats - here the same format as in the old version has option 'Microsoft Excel (In existing XXL format). However when the report is exported eg account numbers do not have the correct format. So you need to convert them first to the correct number format with function VALUE in Excel.
Can this be somehow fixed?

Dots and commas is not the issue.
The issue is that eg doment numbers are in the format in which you cannot vlookup them with other files where document numbers are in number format. So you need first to convert them using excel function value(). And then they have the correct format.
I am 100% sure there was not the same problem before we installed the higher patch.

Billing document number is always internal in standard
So Internally giving alpha numeric number is not possible in standard
But external number range is possible with userexit mentioned below
USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE (Module pool SAPLV60A, program RV60AFZZ)
The internal number range used in the standard system is specified in the billing type table and can be changed in this user exit. This user exit is only called when the billing documents is created.
A zee table is to be maintained according to the requirement
and maintain the entries in billing no range object RV_BELEG
This can be done with the help of the ABAPer
But i am not sure whether you can achieve alphanumeric number
If possible kindly update us why do you require alphanumeric number for billing

COPA line item report, Number format -output type - object list(ALV).

I am preparing COPA line item report. I want to change number format (two decimal place). I did the changes in form level then I did the changes in drill down report as well and saved as save definition.
But changes are not reflecting in- output type - object list(ALV).

Problem with the number format in the graph axis with Report Generation Toolkit.

I'm trying to use the Report Generation Toolkit to plot some graphs in Excel.
My first problem is that I don't know how to configure the number format in the Excel Set Graph Font.vi so that my numbers are correctly displayed in the graph's axis. The only given option is general (0,0) but this is not enough for me, my numbers can get really small so I need engineering notation or fraccional format.
Second: I also insert a table with the graph source data, but the numbers are not correctly displayed either: for example:
0,75 is shown as:
0,750000
but 1,25 is shown as:
1!250!000
My guess is I am making to much or wrong string to number conversions or Excel is getting it wrong but I can't find my way...
Can someone help me with this?

Number formatting issue in Web intelligence report

I've an object called ' Serial number' (12 digits long) but when I set this in query filter as a prompt number format gets changed.
Similar like this:
whereas I am expecting to see 123456789123 something like this.
I made sure that object data type is number while designing universe as well as also format the object ( using format object option) and set as ############. ( 12times #) to forced as 12 digits number.
When I drag this object in 'result objects' results shows fine but if i add this as 'Query Filters' number gets changed as above pic.
Any advise ?

Try to create a dimension variable in universe and choose the data type as string. Please check this and let me know for issues, if any.

Number format issue in XML Publisher from OAF (',.' is replaced by 'u n')

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in XML Publisher report. In report I need to display some number fields with 'USD' format. In RTF, data type 'Number' and format '###,##0.00' is selected. If I run concurrent program from oracle core forms using System Administrator > Concurrent > Request, I am able to get correct number format.
Ex : 123456.00 After Number format : 123,456.00
Also its working fine from XML Publisher Administrator responsibility (using Preview).
But problem is when I submit the concurrent request through OAF, I am not getting correct data. ',' is replace by 'u' and '.' is replace by 'n'.
Ex: 123456.00 In Report 123u456n00
Checked profile value : ICX: Numeric Character and its set to 1,000.00 at site level.
Do I need to set character set anywhere in OAF before calling concurrent program?
I tried to use "alter session set nls_numeric_character = ',.';" by calling stored procedure from OAF. But still its not working.
Please give me solution for this.

How to get the number of created document?

My first program in ABAP works very well. Thanks to all who helped me
I would like only one function to it.
The program read data from excel file and generates document using BDC.
I use this statement:
call transaction 'F-65' using bdcdatafile
I count the number of documents which have been generated or refeused because of error using the sy-subrc function.
if sy-subrc <> 0.
    counter for errors
else.
    counter for generated documents
endif.
Finally program displays these number on the last screen and the user knows if there everything is ok. For example this is a sample screen:
1. OK.
2. OK.
3. Error.
Number of imported documents (2)
Errors (1)
However, I would like to add one information to these screen. If the document is saved it gets its own number.
Is any possibility to get this number for displaying?
Maybe there is a function which returns this number.
I want to get the scren like this:
1. OK. Document No. 10000001
2. OK. Document No. 10000002
3. Error

The document number should be being passed back via a message. You need to specifiy to return any messages in the messtab when calling the transaction.
DATA: MESSTAB type table of BDCMSGCOLL WITH HEADER LINE.
call transaction 'F-65' using bdcdatafile
                        messages into messtab.
Messtab will have the messages after the call, you can then read this internal table and check for the success message, usually the document number is in the first variable field, MSGV1.
