Number Formatting in Message Mapping

Guys
I am getting a decimal number like 30.22 from SAP. I am sending it to a flat file. Now I have a format for the flat file like 5S2 which means 5 total and the last two is decimal part. Also I dont want decimal point in the output. So my output should be 03022. But I am unable to fulfill this as my output? If I use "FormatNum" in airthmetic functions and if I specify it as 00000 then I am able to get 00030. But instead of this I should get 03022. Can any of you guys help me out?

Satish,
but if I understanded correctly, the 5S2 standard also only accepts 2 decimal positions, isn't it so? How does 3.457 is represented in 5S2? Isn't it 00345?
If that's the case, then the answer that Christine provided satisfies your needs.

  • CcBPM Process Number in the Message mapping

    Hi,
    I  have a requirement to map the ccBPM's process number in which the Mapping error has occured to be mapped to a specific field in the target.  I wanted to know how could I pass the BPM's process number to the message mapping ( this message mapping(Service mapping) is a part of the same BPM).  If we could get the MESSAGE_ID of the message in the message mapping, we should also be getting the BPM Process number.
    In other words, when an alert is triggered in BPM, we get the BPM process number in its subject, i need that BPM process number in to the message mapping where that message has to be stored in a table in ECC.
    I have searched in help and SDN to check if some system properties can help, but i couldnt.  Any help/inputs from you is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Kalpana.

    Hi Manuel,
    it is very easy to to get the <b>Message ID</b>, which is unique and useful for selecting a message in the monitoring

    You send a mail from Java Mapping or, what would be the standard, (as additional) message from BPM or just as normal Message Receiver or only in Error case as Alert receiver.

  • Sequnce Number generation in Message Mapping..

    Hello All,
    I am using this thread as a reference for declaring a Counter for unique sequence number generation...
    Sequence Number in XI Mapping
    -> define a global variable by clicking the JAVA_SECTION_TOOLTIP icon on the design tab of source message type of ur message mapping.
    enter the following in the GlobalVariables Section
    Integer counter =0;
    -> define a user defined function (SeqGen let's say)
    write the following code in it.
    Integer seq = 0;
    GlobalContainer globalContainer = container.getGlobalContainer();
    a = globalContainer.getParameter("counter");
    seq = globalContainer.getParameter("counter");
    seq = seq + 1;
    globalContainer.setParameter("counter",seq);
    return a;
    now use this user defined function (SeqGen)in all ur mappings to the sequence no of ur line items.
    If u could just elaborate on creation of UDF.. on what are we goin to pass in the variable 'a'...  while creating the UDF. ??
    Harpreet..!!

    Hi harpeet,
    A UDF can be of two types a  Simple UDF and Adavnced UDF.
    This is a case of a simple UDF,
    A simple UDF returns only 1 element  as  an output.
    here 'a' is such an generated output.   you can assign this to any numeric filed of ur target stucture
    This UDf does not require any input Field from the message.
    These functions are known as generating functions.
    Hope this explains.
    Reward points if useful.

  • Export Parameters in Parameterized Message Mapping does not work.

    Hello, XI-Gurus!
    I have a question: how to use an EXPORT parameter in Parameterized Message Mapping? seems it does not work...
    (I use XI / PI 7.1)
    For example, I have a follow scenario: a large message comes to XI from one BS (message contains a lot of rows), then this large message splits to some small messages (something about 1000 rows in one small message), and send small messaeg one by one from XI to second BS. So, after receive step I use a transformation step with Parameterized Message Mapping to get a total amount of rows in large message (it needs for making condition for loop in IP, for example). I want to use an EXPORT parameter to pass this number from Parameterized Message Mapping to Integration Process. How can I do it?
    Of course, I know the way to how to make this scenario without any parameterizing, but I want to use exactly "Parameterized Message Mapping" like it writes in this help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/43/c3e1fa6c31599ee10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
    This topic contains something about procedure how to use an EXPORT parameter, but this procedure does not work. I don't understand how to write this UserDefined Function, which I can set any export parameters.
    I read this blog:
    /people/jin.shin/blog/2008/02/14/sap-pi-71-mapping-enhancements-series-parameterized-message-mappings
    this blog has NO solutions about EXPORT parameters. about IMPORT parameters - everything OK.
    Some topics about how to use export parameters in MM in this forum marked as "answered", but this is not true.

    Hi Rudolf,
    It still does not works.
    Great thanks for all your answers! If your advice works on your PI-server, it means that my problem not in UDF.
    Step by step:
    1) I create in "Signature" tab two parameters: FILE_NAME, FILE_TYPE (of course, they both Export and xsd:string type)
    2) Then, I goes to "Functions" tab and create new function "testUDF" with one argument var1.
    3) In body of this UDF insert 2 strings:
       getOutputParameters.setString("FILE_NAME" , "Order");
       getOutputParameters.setString("FILE_TYPE" , "PDF");
    4) in "Definition" tab I bind function "Local.testUDF" with one field in my input message and goes to "Test" tab for testing.
    5) And then I have a message window "Problems While Testing":
    Source text of object Message Mapping: mm_ParamMap | urn:****.*.:****:TEST has syntax errors:

    2 errors

  • Message mapping for checking hyphens (-) in material number

    Hi All,
    I have an interface in PI 7.1 for product change and product create coming from ORACLE to SAP
    Now, the reqmt is to take the ORACLE product which could have hyphens or without hyphens
    In SAP, the product can have upto 40 characters and if something without hyphens come in, then it adds leading zeros while creating and while changing, SAP expects a product with leading zeros
    So, how do I handle this? How do I check in message mapping, the product with hyphens or without and write a condition to it.
    Here is my idea
    Take the product, use a message mapping function to check for products without hyphens and if YES, add leading zeros upto 40 characters
    Can anyone let me know how this could be achieved using message mapping function
    I am sure this kind of reqmt especially leading zeros for products is very common in PI interface circle
    So, please let me know the details
    Thx
    mike

    Hi Mike,
                  your requirement can be solved without UDF too
    inputfield ---------------->
                                                 indexOf() ------------>
    Constant(-)---------->                                                  less---->if ----->target field
    constant(0)---------->
    inputfield  and contant (hyphen) are inputs to standard text function indexOf. Output of IndexOF and constant(zero) are inputs to standard arithmetic function less. Out put of less goes to boolean function if. The IF has two inputs then and else .
    For then part write this logic
    inputfield----> formatNumber()---->then
    in standard arithmetic function Formatnumber  specify number format with 40 zeroes, leave decimal separetor blank.
    Now for the else part of "IF" write this
    inputfield----->else
    Finally
    output of "IF" goes to target field
    IF------>target

  • Format of reference document number is invalid  Message no. 8A556

    Dear Expert,
    I have problem while executing transaction Manual Posting incoming invoice with t-code FB60. The error message shown as written above "Format of reference document number is invalid  Message no. 8A556"
    I have check the customizing on document type and number range, they are all standard SAP, nothing strange as far my concern.
    Could any one give any idea on this problem.
    Thanks in advance
    Irhasni

    Dear Experts,
    I have tried to investigate this problem but still have no solution for doc. type KR (Posting vendor invoice)
    During investigation on this problem, I did a simulation posting using document type other than KR (assign manually) either by t-cod FB60 or F-02 or F-43, I chose doc. type KA and SA, there is no error when using this doc type, it create Accounting document and Tax line item also appear.
    From the simulation I did with this problem, the  problem seems on Document type KR (default doc. type for Vendor Invoice). I suspect, it might some setting at other modul likely at MM that control the "Reference" field during document entry...  eventhough this field is not set as mandatory at OBA7, it's still saying the same error message.
    Is there anyone have any ideas about problem in document type KR?
    Thanks in advance

    I have searched in other blog also and ended up with the same error. Please check and do the needful.
    The Basic Problem
    We have an IDoc ORDERS05 with purchase order information where each purchase order line item (represented by segment .<E1EDP01>) can contain multiple schedule lines (represented by segment <E1EDP20>). For example, we have 2 line items with 3, resp. 2 schedule lines. Then the corresponding portion of message ORDERS05 can look as follows:
       <E1EDP01>
          <POSEX>00010</POSEX>
          <E1EDP20 SEGMENT="1">
             <WMENG>15</WMENG>
          </E1EDP20>
          <E1EDP20 SEGMENT="1">
             <WMENG>44</WMENG>
          </E1EDP20>
          <E1EDP20 SEGMENT="1">
             <WMENG>3</WMENG>
          </E1EDP20>
       </E1EDP01>
       <E1EDP01>
          <POSEX>00020</POSEX>
          <E1EDP20 SEGMENT="1">
             <WMENG>32</WMENG>
          </E1EDP20>
          <E1EDP20 SEGMENT="1">
             <WMENG>12</WMENG>
          </E1EDP20>
       </E1EDP01>
    We want to map the information of the IDoc ORDERS05 to the message OrderCreate of the CIDX v4.0 standard. This message uses a more flat
    structure where the purchase order line items and the corresponding schedule lines are on the same level. The corresponding portion of the
    message OrderCreate (for the same information as in the IDoc) looks as follows:
       <OrderCreateProductLineItem>
    <PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>00010</PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>
          <ProductQuantity>15</ProductQuantity>
       </OrderCreateProductLineItem>
       <OrderCreateProductLineItem>
          <PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>00010</PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>
          <ProductQuantity>44</ProductQuantity>
       </OrderCreateProductLineItem>
       <OrderCreateProductLineItem>
          <PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>00010</PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>
          <ProductQuantity>3</ProductQuantity>
       </OrderCreateProductLineItem>
       <OrderCreateProductLineItem>
          <PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>00020</PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>
          <ProductQuantity>32</ProductQuantity>
       </OrderCreateProductLineItem>
       <OrderCreateProductLineItem>
          <PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>00020</PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>
          <ProductQuantity>12</ProductQuantity>
       </OrderCreateProductLineItem>
    The data in red correspond to data of the segment <E1EDP01>, while the information in blue correspond to data of the segment <E1EDP20> of the original IDoc. Note that the data in red need to be duplicated based on the occurence of segment <E1EDP20>.
    Solution 1
    A simple solution of this mapping problem exists under the assumption that in the IDoc ORDERS05 each segment <E1EDP01> contains at least one segment <E1EDP20>. Luckily this assumption holds true for IDocs created via the purchase order creation process in ERP.
    1. Mapping of <OrderCreateProductLineItem>
    The segment <OrderCreateProductLineItem> of the target structure needs to be created once for each occurrence of segment <E1EDP20> of our source structure. This can easily be achieved via the following mapping:
    Remember to change the context to IDOC.
    2. Mapping of <PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber>
    Since the information for the node <PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber> comes from the IDoc segment <E1EDP01>, this node needs to be replicated based on the occurrence of segment <E1EDP20> under each segment <E1EDP01>. This can be achieved using the node function useOneAsMany as follows:
    I will not describe the functionality of the node function useOneAsMany in detail since there is a lot of excellent documentation available on this function, for example in the SAP help . In our scenario you only need to change the context of the second input parameter to E1EDP01.
    With the sample input from above, the function useOneAsMany will give the following result:
    3. Mapping of <ProductQuantity>
    Since the <ProductQuantity> is derived from a value of the IDoc segment <E1EDP20> the mapping for this field is trivial (remember that <ProductQuantity> must occur once per <E1EDP20> segment):
    Please check the error and guide me how to proceed further.
    Regards,
    GIRIDHAR

    Hi
    The problem is that you the first and second input queue of UseOneAsMany function does not have the same number of context changes.
    Do your mapping like this
    E1EDP20(set context to Idoc level )----> OrderCreateProductLineItem
    First input of UseOneAsMany   --->POSEX ( set context to E1EDP01)
    Second input of UseOneAsMany--->  E1EDP20 ( set context to E1EDP01 )
    Third  input of UseOneAsMany--->  E1EDP20 ( set context to E1EDP01 )
    Then after UseOneAsMany use removeContext--->SplitByEachValue--->PurchaseOrderLineItemNumber
    WMENG ( set context to E1EDP20) ----> ProductQuantity
    This will give you the output in the format you are asked for.
    Let me know if any issues.

  • Message Mapping, filling field with 0 (zeros) on left

    I need to fill a field with values that has variable lenght adding 0 (zeros) on the left, how can I do it ?
    I'm using the LENGHT in message mapping, with value returned by LENGHT I use FIXVALUES to map the quantity of 0 (zeros) that I need to add in the field.
    Somebody can help me with this problem ?
    Thank's.

    Hi Regis,
    You can use the Arithmetic:FormatNum built-in function for this.
    If you want to left-pad the number with zeros so that the length is always 10, then specify 10 zeros for the format, 0000000000.
    This function takes formats based on java.text.DecimalFormat so you can see all of the possibilities at:
    java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/DecimalFormat.html

  • Message Mapping : conversion of source value 2,520,926.08 to 2,520,926

    Hi,
    The value coming from Idoc at source side is 6,999,432.08.
    I want the value to be passed at target side as 6,999,432
    I do not want .08
    How i will do the message mapping. Can someone help me out.
    Thanks,

    Ashish,
    I have tested this and all works as you expect.  I have also provided two examples due to confusion as to whether you want the decimal places.  You stated in an earlier post 'I do not want .08, i want .00' but in your last post that 'Source Value be 22345.45 or 22345.78 or 22345.99.........target value should be 22345'
    Two decimal places .00
    LHS field_in --> floor (arithmetic function) to give you the integer value required (rounded down) --> format number (second arithmetic function and indicate a format of 0.00 to represent two decimal places) --> RHS field_out
    Source       Target
    22345.45    22345.00
    22345.78    22345.00
    22345.99    22345.00
    No decimal places (integer)
    LHS field_in --> floor (arithmetic function) to give you the integer value required (rounded down) --> RHS field_out
    Source       Target
    22345.45    22345
    22345.78    22345
    22345.99    22345
    I hope this clears up your issue

    Mike

  • Upgrading from XI/PI7.0 to 7.1 having problems with message mapping

    Hello,
    We are in the process over the past week of testing our XI/PI functionality after upgrading our 7.0 XI/PI environment to PI7.1; in particular several maps that were accessible in 7.0 will not open or diaplay in 7.1 complaining of a missing node in the mapping structure. Currently working with SAP on a possible fix but wanted to know if anyone else has done a true migration on top of an existing XI/PI7.0 system and experiencing similar issues (note: the maps can execute in the runtime environment but we can't display the maps source within message mapping; this also does not occur for all maps and there is no clear consistant theme to those that can be displayed and those that can't).
    The lattest issue just encountered related to message mapping is that in test mode of a map (that can be displayed) attempting to display the data queue for the mapped elements are blank no data being displayed giving an error noting that the source text of object message mapping: name of the map; has syntax errors, java area import line x, package ibm.com.xi.mapping does not exist/ import ibm.com.xi.mapping UDF:
    Has anyone upgraded from PI7.0 to 7.1 and experienced errors with existing maps that worked ok (ans still work in our QX/PRD systems) in their 7.0 envirinment but encountereing strange errors once upgrated to 7.1?
    Thanks

    Here is the solution we received from SAP to address the issue, there were several mapping related issues we started havng from maps that worked in our 7.0 system prior to the upgrade to PI 7.1. I will try to encorporate the solutions in this response.

    1. We are unable to open some massage mapping, it is throwing
    exception
    2. Number Format functions throw exception.
    But following issue is still unresolved:

    We discovered another issue with mapping.
    For some of the mappings, we are unable to display mapping queue. When
    we execute, Interface mapping and Massage mapping, it works fine. But
    display queue throws exception. Itu2019s not able to recognize libraries
    used from dependent software component.
    Please find document "Display Mapping Queue Issue" providing example
    problem.

    Thank you for your update. I wanted to check with "CopyValue"
    function's index. It has to take an input integer and the problem that
    found while debugging the opening of your mapping is that the input
    was empty thus causing the exception.
    I was going to suggest the intended use of "CopyValue" function.
    When the input to "copyValue" is a constant, "copyValue" is totally
    not necessary. Thus constant can be directly mapped to other function.
    When the input is a node with values in context, you can treat one of
    values say input[0] to used in mapping by using CopyValue[0].
    But please make sure that input[0] will always produce a value.
    Note 877964 will describe in detail on Copyvalue usage.
    I am marking this Message as complete. Please confirm.
