Number Lock stopped Working

I have a Pavilion dv6 - QJ912AV with a i7 processor, on Windows 7 operating system. This notebook has a full keyboard with numbers on the right.
I just noticed my Number Lock is no longer working. When I press the key, it's not engaging. Does anyone know why and could possibly provide me some suggestions as to how to fix it. This is really bumming me out. I've only had the notebook for 8 months!

Is the key the type that has a rubber dome under it? Sometimes this type of key can get a hair or other foreign particle under it that keeps it from touching the conductive material to the pad and contact is not established with the key press. Carefully try to vacuum or blow it out.

Vimperator number hint stopped working yesterday in Arch

I don't know where to post this, but as it is somehow related to Arch, I'm posting it here.
I do not remember where I did wrong yesterday, but maybe after some upgrade, Vimperator 2.0 number hints stopped working. Char hints work like a charm, but since I'm a CJK users, being forced to use char hints is a terrible experience.
I'm using Firefox 3.0.8. The same version of Firefox and Vimperator works flawlessly under Ubuntu, so this is why I figure that the problem might have a connection with Arch. I copied my Firefox extension folder in Ubuntu over to Arch, but the hint mechanism still works differently. The problem's driving me nuts. No clue...
The difference might be that I'm using Awesome wm in Arch vs a vanilla installation of Ubuntu, but I don't really see how a WM matters. Anyway, any "hints" are welcome

Currently I'm using char-hints-mod2.js as a workaround. I even uninstalled all other plugins and left vimperator 2.0 alone, but didn't solve the problem. I suspect that something else is interfering with vimperator...

Does the Caps lock still work, just not the LED?
Or does the caps lock not work at all? You usually have to hold the caps button for 1-2 seconds.
If the key is indeed faulty, then you should contact Apple, or go to an Apple Retail Store, or Service Provider to have the keyboard replaced

Number keys stopped working

The number keys on my keyboard stopped working. Both on the number keypad and the numbers across the top. This was sudden. They worked and then the next second, they didn't. And yes, I have checked the num lock key . Just the numbers are effected, no other keys. What's up with that?

On the SMC reset, please follow the instructions VERY carefully. Also it can take 2-3x for a SMC reset to take. Other things to try are resetting the PRAM:
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
Also restarting in Safe Mode can help, this clears some caches. It's possible one has become corrupt.

Hopefully easy question: the number keypad stopped working!

OK, this is a super-minor problem, but I'm hoping that means it's an easy one to fix!
I normally rely on quickkeys or keyboard shortcuts, like in Logic when you just hit the "0" on the number keypad which takes you back to the beginning of the piece. Problem: it stopped working! Now when I hit the 0 I just get the penalty beep. I did trash my preferences earlier today, because I was having problems with a 3rd-party plugin. But I can't find a place in Preferences to enable the number keypad keys.

If you trash your prefs you automatically delete your Keycommands with it so you should save/export them first before trashing the prefs. Now open the Key command menue, enter "stop" in the little Spotlight menue and reassign the "0" to the command stop.

My Online Number has stopped working!

My online number which I have had for 2 1/2 years for my business is now not working...Earlier today, when the number was dialed, my clients recieved a recording that said the number had been changed, and then the call disconnected...Now, when you dial the number, it rings busy...I have tried changing the privacy settings to contacts only and then back again and logging out and back in again...same problem...Looking for ANY assistance...Please help!

I have exactly the same problem. The support consists of typing in a question and getting a reply from completely incompetent agents. They get impatient if you don't know what to do if they ask you to re-program your computer. One person on this person says try GOOGLE VOICE instead of SKYPE I am going to find out about it today and let you know what its about. It can't be worse than the service offered BY THIS GROUP OF INCOMPETENT COWBOYS THAT TRY TO RUN SKYPE.......

Disable caps lock stops working...

I've been using the modifier key setting to disable caps lock and it's great!
Only now after some time the caps lock key suddenly starts working as normal
I can turn it off again in system preferences and it'll work for a while, but it's so annoying that the setting won't keep.
I think this problem started appearing after the latest security update, but can't really say for sure when it started...

glote, I'm having the same problem, as well as startup items (Safari, iCal, AddressBook, Font Xplorer) not hiding themselves. It started after the 10/.6.1 upgrade. Any news on your end?

The number pad on my wirelss keyboard has stopped working...help!

New to macs, I have a new interl-based iMac with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Yesterday the number pad stopped working. The CD eject and sound buttons still work, but the numbers themselves do not - in fact when I use them, the whole machine freezes and I can not do anything. I was playing around in the system preferences yesterday - did I click something I should not have? Or is the keyboard faulty and in need of going back to the apple store for replacing?
I have updated the machine fully, including the latest keyboard update, but the same resulting freezing occurs when I press a number on the pad.
Any suggestions very much appreciated.

Serial number stopped worked

My serial number just stopped working. I have copied and pasted it from my adobe account, but it just won't work. I tried the support web pages, but I couldn't find a way to get to the online help and I just got redirected to the community forum.
Does anyone know how I can get a support ticked with adobe so that they will look into it?
The product is Photoshop CS6, but I couldn't find that community, so I selected Photoshop Mix.

My serial number doesn't work (Lightroom 4, non-cloud)

I have Lightroom 4 (non-cloud). My serial number suddenly stopped working since the beginning of March.
Whenever I start the program, I'm prompted to purchase a new Lightroom, which I don't want to/can't afford). Could someone tell me how to resolve the problem? Thank you.

At the end of a 30-day LR trial period, LR should give you a choice to enter a serial number or purchase. What happens if you enter your serial number?
Where did you purchase the original LR4 serial number from, Adobe, a physical store location, or the internet site not Adobe?

My Logitech K750 numeric keypad stopped working after last update-numbers only

After the last Mountain Lion update, the number on my numeric keypad will not function. They work for my login, but then become inactive. I have tested the system with an Apple keypad, same thing! What happened? Is there a keyboard setting that needs to be reset?

Thank you. My K750 number pad stopped working on my iMac. The keyboard and number pad 'do' work on a different Mac, so I suspect it is some setting on the iMac. I did a Safe Mode start, reset the SMC, and repaired the disk permissions. The dongle was plugged into an USB Hub. It is now plugged into the iMac USB port. The keyboard has a 90% charge, but still does not work. Then suddenly it started working again, but stopped after about one month.
I found your "Accessibility>Mouse and Trackpad" suggestion and deselected "Enable Mouse Keys". My number pad works again.

Number lock button on numeric keypad

Just recently the NUM LOCK stopped working. When I press it I get a beep but am unable to use the numeric keypad.

Please try changing the "Accessibility Options"
Go to "Control Panel"
   l--------> "Ease Of Access Center"
              i--------> "Make the keyboard easier to use"
                        i----------> untick "Turn On Mouse Keys"
