Number of Apple IDs under One Credit Card Number

I am setting up iTunes accounts/Apple IDs using the same credit card. It worked for three accounts. It will not process the fourth. Can only so many Apple IDs be assigned to one credit card?

Only one Apple ID can be associated with one credit or debit card account.
Do you have a link that verifies that this is Apple's policy?
I ask because I have two different Apple IDs; one that I use exclusively with my US iTunes/Mac App Store account and the other that I use with the Apple Online Store and they both use the same US bank card. Based on my personal experience, your statement to the OP is not true.

  • HT201251 I want to use 30  ipads to run kiosk software in my restaurant. Can I use one Apple ID (and one credit card) for all devices

I want to use 30  ipads to run kiosk software in my restaurant. Can I use one Apple ID (and one credit card) for all devices?

Alternatively you can always manage your iPads (does not matter how many) with a single apple id and all reporting to your account under "find my device" service. Keeping an eye on all your units. Additionally as you mentioned these are for your Restaurant you may find the solutions offered by this company who creates apps and hardware for this purpose: http://www.spartakioskpro.com
Additionally if you expand beyond those 30 iPads to say 300 you will want to enable or plan on MDM as your best option to automate every ipad to use the same profile and app and ios configuration while also keeping a close eye on all of them via online MDM services like: https://meraki.cisco.com/products/systems-manager

  • Major Issue: VPP Managed Distribution & Apple IDs with no credit cards

Hopefully someone from Apple can advise on a temporary workaround for this issue, or when the problem will be resolved. If anyone else has experienced this issue with Managed Distribution using the VPP Token, and has a workaround, I'd be very grateful.
    My set-up
OS X Server running on Mavericks, MacBook Pro
Using managed distribution via Profile Manager with the new VPP Token, I am successfully able to push FREE apps to my staff and students. However, problems occur when pushing paid apps. If I try to push a paid app to a staff Apple ID it's fine, because most of the staff have credit cards on file. The issue arises when pushing paid apps to student Apple IDs with no credit card.
This is a real issue, because we have purchased the app already, and technically it is 'free' to whomever we push the app to in our organisation. What has also happened is when apps have gone 'free' (promotions etc) we have been able to 'buy' them at their free 'price' via VPP, but when trying to distribute them using Managed Distribution (the only option available for free apps) it classes them as 'paid' and requires a credit card be attached to the Apple ID also.
Managed Distribution for our organisation, seemed to be the perfect solution, in that we could keep track of which members of staff and students had which apps and also have the ability to revoke them. Unfortunately because of the requirement for credit cards for VPP enrolled Apple IDs I am unable to distribute any paid or 'gone free' apps.
I imagine that as more organisations turn to Managed Distribution using the token, as it is still only early days at the moment, more and more people will realise that it is not possible. I suspect many people will be yet to test it out, but for the moment it doesn't work :-(

Hey there MrsStephenson. I was just getting on here to post a similar question regarding the new Managed Distribution. We are experiencing a similar issue with Paid App Distribution but even if we add a card to the Apple ID we are trying to push to it still doesn't work. I am glad to hear we are not the only ones out there with issues regarding Managed Distribution so far as I know the more folks running into problem the more traction this will get.
I have tried so many different methods of setting up devices and I just can't get it to work. Oddly enough about a week and a half ago it started working for about an hour or so on one of my devices I was testing with (iPad Mini Retina WIFI) but then quit working shortly later when I got out and iPad Air and tried again.
I have been working with AppleCare Enterprise Support/EDU Support but so far they have not divulged much information to me. Just about the only bit of information I have received from them is as of right now they don't have any work arounds but they have had a few more of this type of problem popping up.
It was odd in that when I first got my licenses and started implementing devices it was working fine. Then, out of the blue the apps stopped automatically downloading to the devices and I had to start selecting the Push Apps option in Profile Manager to get it to work. Then eventually it quit working all together and now only free apps will install.
I hope more people start reporting/coming forward with this issue as I know that should help expedite Apple to come up with a solution. I have about 20 iPads sitting in my cabinet that people are waiting for out in our shop and I can't do anything with them until I can distribute the apps to them.

  • 5 Separate iTunes Accounts under one Credit Card

I've been told that with each credit card that I register with iTunes, I can get up to 5 separate accounts for children or family members. I can not figure out how to make this happen. Please help. Thanks.

Create a second Apple ID if you don't have another, and use that credit card to register it with the iTunes Store.

  • HT204053 can you have 2 apple ids under one account

Our family has several apple devices.  Our phones and computers use icloud to coordinate calendars.  However we do not want to receive each others imessages and such.  With several iphones on imessage and icloud and under the same id this has recently become an issue.  How do we stop it from happening but stay coordinated with itunes and calendars?

Each user should have their own Apple ID for an icloud account.  You can defined shared calendars that all family members can access and edit.

  • HT204053 Can I have 4 apple IDs under one purchasing account for using iMessage and FaceTime?

I have an iPhone, an itouch, an iPad and my kids each have an itouch as well as my bf who has an iPad mini. Is there a way that we can use iMessage and FaceTime with each other? All devices use one account for purchases. Can we each have an ID without losing our music and movies?

Thank you for the reply... But now, I have to ask, HOW?! Lol I have added and verified their emails, but I don't think that's the same is it? I basically need step by step instructions. Maybe I just missed it, but I have searched how to do this and can't figure it out. So any help would be greatly appreciated... We each have a couple hundred various songs and movies etc downloaded, but all registered and synced to my account and I really don't want to have to buy duplicates of one direction, Taylor Swift, etc. ☺ so to anyone who can give me a hand... Thank you in advance.

  • Maximum number of iTunes accounts associated with one credit card?

We have a 20 person sales force and will be updating their iPhones and iPads to iOS 5 at a meeting in February.  We want each sales rep to have their own iCloud account for backups and storage.  So, we created 20 new iTunes accounts for each of them using the same company credit card.  To avoid any problems when we do the rollout I wanted to find out what the maximum number of accounts that iTunes allows you to register with one credit card?
    Background Information
Currently, our sales force uses a company ID and password to download apps.  This allows us to keep the accounts and location settings restricted for security purposes in case a device is lost.  We have since created 20 new user accounts under one credit card for our sales force.  I did not do this, but worked closely with the individual who set them up.  They shared that iTunes only allowed three accounts to be created per day with the same credit card - I assume that's for security purposes.
In the end, all were able to be registered without a problem.  My concern is that when we update the devices, which will be over a period of 1-2 days, will there be a limitation to activating accounts under the same credit card, as there was when we created the accounts?  I'm doing the research now to avoid what could be a significant problem if not properly prepared for.
If there's another solution for this, please feel free to share.  Our objective is to remove the reliance on the company computer for syncing and give the sales force more freedom.  We will still be locking the location for security purposes in case the device is lost/stolen - the iTunes password will be shared between the company and sales rep.  They also won't need to ship the device back to our office if there's a problem, as they would be able to restore with iCloud.
    Thank you!

Thank you for the reply!  That is helpful to know.
My follow-up question is this: we somehow managed to add 20 people to one credit card within one month without any warnings.  Should we anticipate encountering a problem?
In the interim, someone in our office is going to try and log into iTunes separately with each of the 20 accounts and download an app to see if there are any problems.
    Thanks for the help.

  • HT204266 How do I purchase a number of apps at one time with just one credit card transaction?  I am traveling and I pay an overseas conversion fee each time I use my credit card.

How do I purchase a number of apps at one time through iTunes using just one credit card transaction.  So far it seems that each app purchase is a separate transaction.  Is there a shopping cart facility?  I can't find one if there is. I'm traveling so each credit card transaction is quite costly.
    Thanks!
    Ruth

    I wish this were true.
    It is true.
You will be billed for iTunes purchase exactly the same as if you are at home. The CC company will not add any fees.
When purchasing through iTunes, it is NOT an overseas transaction. The transaction will simply show up as a regular transaction in your iTunes store. You will be charged/billed according to your address in iTunes, not where you physically are located.
When you make a purchase in a shop, the retailer ID/location is sent with the transaction allowing the CC company to figure the exchange rates and bill the correct amount.

  • HT3702 Is there any limit to the number of itunes account that can be linked to the one credit card?

Hi.  Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of itunes accounts that can be linked to the one credit card?
    Thanks,

    Craig,
It was image.cpp line 2770.  I am told (by another person in the company that has seen this) that it has been seen on several machines, always PXI controllers, but not on all PXI controllers.  I am told that it is not always image.cpp that reports the error, but for me it was always the same line of code identified by the error message.  I did not have a chance to do any experimenting to find a particular threshold number of mnu files.  I may be able to find error logs.  I currently sent the controller to our IT department, doing a windows XP repair, just in case there was something corrupted in the system itself.
The error was reproducible.  This installation at one time must have included real-time / FPGA, because on the opening screen I ge the drop-down ring for selecting a target.  If I click on this drop down ring, I get the crash on line 2770, every time.  If, instead I open an empty new VI, I am able to switch to the block diagram by selecting the window directly with the mouse, but if I try to pull down on the "window" menu to do "show block diagram", I get the crash on line 2770, every time.  Because the user-defined mnu files are now deleted, I would have to create them again, or find a way to reinstall them, to reproduce the error at this point.

  • How do I manage multiple Apple IDs on one iMac

We just purchased my oldest child her first personal iPod Touch 5th gen.  Up until now, we have all managed our music/devices (2 nanos, 2 iPhones, iMac, iPad, and now Touch) on our iMac under one Apple ID (mine!).  We use this ID for everything from Apple TV purchases to iTunes to apps etc. as one big pool all charged to one credit card.  Now that my daughter has her own Touch we want to allow her to redeem gift cards to buy things (rather than go to credit card).  The problem is, her Touch is now somehow (automagically) synced to MY Apple ID - I am guessing because we plug it into our iMac and downloaded all the OLD songs she had from before.  Is there anyway that my daughter can have a separate Apple ID than our main one and still manage them both on our iMac??

What do yo mean by manage?

    Note:
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

    Settings>GameCenter
    Settings>iCloud
    and Settings>iTunes and App store
You  have to sign out of ID (for iCloud you delete the iCloud account from the iPod) and sign in with other ID.
If the iPod has iOS 7 then you have the enter the password for Apple ID presently sign in Settings>iCloud.
Also, a Restriction can be set (Settings>General>Restrictions) the prevents changing accounts

I stopped using iCloud after another family member received all my contacts. Now I want to restart using iCloud. How do I prevent this happening again? We share the same Apple id password and credit card but different usernames.

If two of you shared the same contacts you were logged in with the same Apple ID. In order to avoid this you need to use different Apple IDs, and be using separate Macs or separate user accounts on the same Mac.
One or other of you should create a new Apple ID at http://appleid.apple.com for which you will need a non-Apple email address which hasn't been associated with another Apple ID.

  • Multiple ipads on one credit card

I have 15 ipads (to start with) that need to be managed (financially) through one credit card.  I've set up an iTunes account for each ipad but apparently can't use a single credit card on more than 5 or so iPads (according to iTunes support).  They recommended that I do the VPP for Business.  However, out of the handful of apps we plan to use, only 2 of them are available.  Not everyone of our users have a corporate credit card and besides the ipads are going to change hands from job to job.  So we do not want each iPad (and all the purchased apps) to be tied to an individual.  How in the world is this possible?? Itunes support said that it was a security reason behind not letting us have more than 5 iPads tied to a corporate credit card but never gave me any specifics about WHY or WHO they were supposedly protecting.  Please Please someone help me with this.  I love Apple products but this is causing me to HATE the Apple company.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Some educational groups are looking at device "cloning" so you'd setup a number of devices with the same apps, IPCU profile etc.  You might look at this site ( which was is great and was recommended by another member of this forum a while back)
    http://ipadeducators.ning.com/forum
As you mention though, licensing is still an issue and the EULA, as I currently understand it allows an app to be shared across multiple devices used by one person, or one device used by multiple persons.  Some educational groups use the VPP and assign a single license to one device/user and then purchase enough additional licenses to cover the other devices using the same AppleID, and keep track of the additional license purchases.  Last I looked the VPP spreadsheet only allowed on Apple ID or device assigned per license...so you'd have to keep separate records someplace and hope that this satisfied any legal team that might check software compliance at some point down the road.
Another option would be gifting the app, though I'm not sure how this would work if the device was transferred to another user, with another email address/Apple ID...

  • Using two apple IDs on one Itunes account

I recently purchases a ipad for my 86 year old mother. I want to also add music to it that I have cd's for. She now has an Apple ID of her own and I have my own Apple ID. The problem is this, when I log out of my itunes account and log in as her, I can still see all my music library as her. How do I see NOTHING under her account, until I actually load in music for her. Then can i sync her ipad using my OWN Mac and have it appear on her ipad? I have not enabled home sharing at all. Thank you!

Phil, I am confused about your statement/answer:
""Is it possible to create two Apple IDs on one iTunes account?"
    Yes.  I have two."
    Apple says:
"An Apple ID is a user name you use for everything you do with Apple. Creating an account for an Apple service, such as the iTunes Store or the App Store, creates an Apple ID. Apple ID allows you to access other Apple services. You don't have to create a new account for each service—just use your Apple ID."
Thus an Apple ID is the same as the iTunes account.
Did you mean can yu use more than one Apple ID on one iPod because yuo know the answr is yes.
Or have I go something wrong?
