NUMBER OF PROJECTS/TERMINAL

Does anyone please know whether it is possible to increase the number of recent projects displayed under FILE > OPEN RECENT. At the moment it only displays 10 and I would really like to increase that number.I looked in preferences to no avail.
I once had this problem before and it was solved by adding this command to the terminal :
defaults write com.apple.logic.pro NSRecentDocumentsLimit 50
HOWEVER THIS IS NOT WORKING THIS TIME. I do not know why....
Any help would be appreciated.

What is the number in the terminal dock icon?

Since I upgrade my iMac and it's now Lion, my terminal dock icon has a little red circle with "1" in it, similar to the one Thunderbird has that shows how many unread messages there are. There are a dozen terminal windows, and none are actively running processes, so I'm not sure what "1" could be indicating, and Terminal "Help" is about as useful as Mac Help ever is - i.e. not at all...

It's a new feature in Lion and it tells you that one of your tabs has new content in it. The number corresponds to the number of tabs with new content.
BTW the tab with thte new content will have a little bell in it if it isn.t the current tab.

You can use the Program RSPRTBEZ to get those relation between the tables. Above mentioned table details have been taken through the same.

Hi,
Tcode OPSK Maiantain the special character in "ANo".
Now whenever a new project is to be created in CJ20N, just hit enter in the Project definition field and give a start or finish number and hit Find the system automatically finds the number available.

Limit on number of projects to be merged

Hi,
I need to merge several WebHelp projects into a master
project. The file sizes are quite big. Is there any limit on the
number and size of projects that can be merged into a single master
project.

I work on a site where we have about 42 merged projects, but
this is HTML Help (.chm). We are currently pulling all these
projects into one to convert to webhelp.
If you have a deadline next week I'd get started right away.
Merging that amount of projects is going to take some serious
prepartation and forethough. Fellow Adobe Community Expert Peter
Grainge has a most excellent topic on his site discussing the
issues with merging

I'd be more worried about other issues such as consolidating
the index, consolidating condition tags and sorting out the cross
project links than the project size. As Peter and Column point out,
you won't know for sure until you go for it..

Time fcpx takes to open is increasing with the increase in number of projects...why ?

As I am editing more and more new projects the time fcpx is taking to open is increasing....
If we open any project all the other projects in project library seem to be available and their timelines opened
now is there a way that I can just open the project I want faster......

Hi there,
your projects are all stored in your project folder next to your media folder. When you launch FCPX, it reads that project folder and shows them to you. If you have finished projects that you are not going to work on anymore, consider archiving them and moving them out of this project folder. Next time you launch FCPX the moved project will not show anymore. This should help.

How to decide the number of project for CHARM?

We want to use only one project for all normal change requests(CR).
But some CRs are very quickly moved into the PRD while some others are slower.
Should we create 2 projects : one for fast moving corrections and another for slower ones?
Above is for normal corrections only. The shortcoming of above plan is that it hard to know the CR is going to be fast or not.
U r gent correction: We have a dedicated project for u r gent corrections which are usually moving very fast.
Could you tell us your practice on this?

So roughly speaking, 3 projects are needed for CHARM:
one for fast moving normal corrections
one for slow moving normal corrections
one for u r gent corrections

Help with number counting project

the program is supposed to let the user enter numbers and and then return the numbers they entered and how many times they entered each one. this is what i have so far and i dont know what i need to put next so can anybody give me a hint or help me please thanks

How to find next number range for project definition in tcode CJ20N

Hai Experts,
Please help me 'How to find next number range for project definition in tcode "CJ20N". I was trying in function module NUMBER_GET_NEXT. Is it right function module? If its right what input i need to give for this tcode and for the field project definition?

Hi,
For project defination internal number is assigned by system.
When you saves's project then system allocate one number to project defination, you can view it,
SE11 >>> table PROJ >> Click on contents >>> execute,
here you will get your project defination & number is assigned to project defination.

Grey out Project/WBS number

Hi,
The Project definition/WBSE number in Project Systems is greyed out once the
project/WBSE is released. In that case, you could use activity type 45 for authorization objects C_PRPS* or C_PROJ* to provide authorization to change these numbers.
But, how do I grey out the PD/WBSE number immediately after the PD/WBSE is created? Can I do it through authorizations or a user status? I tried looking through the field selection for PD and WBS, but the PD and/or WBSE number are not part of the selections there. Any suggestion would be greatly helpful and rewarded through points.

Hi Satish,
With the validations you cannot get your requeriment only you can get this field cannot be editable ( but not greyed), due to valiations works after you are in the screen.
I am not sure how to get this, check WBS BAdi there is a method 'before save' I don't know if you can develop here to grey the field.

Increase number of "open recent" projects

Is it possible to do this? I went through the preferences, but didn't see a choice. I could have missed it, as I'm partially blind. Bummer!

To my knowledge there is no way to control the number of projects stored in the Open Recent list. Once the number of project exceeds whatever number is the limit, the oldest project disappears from the list.

Reporting (Project Publish) job is failing with 'The given key was not present in the dictionary'

I am using Project Server 2010 with SQL Server 2008 R2.
I have a PWA Instance which was running fine. I have a big number of projects and I do not keep site for all the projects as we do not need project site in our business.
Everything was running fine but during last few days, some of the jobs like Reporting (Project Publish) and Reporting (Project Delete) job is failing with the same error details for all the projects. I am not able to trace where the data is wrong/corrupt
and how to resolve it.
The error detail and ULS Log is given below anod I would appreciate if someone can guide me where the problem is and suggest me any solution.

Without seeing the history, one possibility might be some corruption in the reporting database. Assuming that you are following best practices for SQL DB management, and this is not a DB neglect problem, then I would try to force a refresh to see if that
helps. You can do this by executing a custom field backup and then restore. Note: Do not do this during production hours. Let us know if that provides any therapy.

Project crashing caused by Memory?

I am having a program crash problem with Final Cut Pro when working with any number of projects (big or small). One large project (33MB), I cannot even open without FCP crashing. +*When I say crash, I mean that the program quits without notice and all windows disappear immediately without warning (i.e. no spinning beach ball or frozen windows). A dialog box then appears oon screen telling me that FCP quit unexpectedly and offers me a report or send Apple a message.+
This is my set up: I am running Final Cut Pro HD on a Dual 2.3 GHz PowerPC G5 with 4GB RAM with Mac OS X (10.4.11). My OS and all apps live on a 230 GB Internal start-up HD (159GB available) and my projects and all related assets live on a 500GB external Seagate high speed USB 2 Drive (14GB available). No other USB 1 devices are on the bus.
In order to correct the problem did the following in this order:
1- Used FCP Rescue to trash and reset FCP. No effect
2- Used Mac's Disc Utility to Repair Disk Permissions and Repair Disk (both run twice). No effect
3- Copied project file to main start-up drive in order to eliminate possible issue with linked asset. Project crashed FCP at launch.
4- Reformatted start-up Drive and performed clean install of OS and FCP. No Effect. Project still caused crash at launch.
Non of these seemed to work, so I started with a auto-saved backup of the project. I saved it as a separate copy with a new name. It opened without a crash, yet all media clips needed to be reconnected. Hooray! So, I started reconnecting media. As I do this, I reconnect small bunches of clips at a time and click save. During this long process, the program crashed again. So, I restarted FCP and the project opened without crashing. I continue to reconnect media as before. Now it takes half the time to crash again. I use FCP Rescue to trash prefs and restart FCP again, but as the program loads the project, it crashes before it can finish opening the project.
It seems to me that each time FCP crashes with a project open, it damages the project file somehow to the point that it will not open at all. Even after purging program preferences and attempting to reopen the crashed project file. Is this possible? Is there some other cause for projects to crash and or not open this way?
Now I am wondering if it is hardware causing the crashes leading to the corrupt files. I ran Apple's Hardware test and the MAC passes both the fast and long test. I also downloaded Temperature Monitor to check memory temp for overheating. It is running between 74-77˚C (165-170˚F), a few degrees higher during a render test. Does anyone know if this memory temp is an issue or what acceptable tolerances are for the G5 with FCPHD? I am out of ideas and hope that someone out there might have some ideas. +Any advice is appreciated.+

It sounds like you may have a piece of corrupt media (or several pieces of corrupt media). First of all, usb is not recommended for working with fcp. Don't think it's the source of your problem, but...
First, generally speaking, project files should reside on your startup disk and all media on other drives.
Are you using any nonstandard codecs or formats?
Are all your drives formatted macosextended? You might want to run diskwarrior on all drives.
Once the above are eliminated, try this. Copy your fcp project file to your startup drive and disconnect the media drive. Open fcp and launch the project. All media will be offline. Save your project. Reconnect your media drive, and launch fcp and the project. Gradually reconnect your media until you find the problem clips.
