Number of records in a infocube

Hai,
How do we know the number of records in an infocube? I need to know if the infocube I am using is having more than 50 million records.
Thanks.

Also if you happened to compress your cube data, you may have to look for the number of entries in table " /BIC/E<cube name> " using SE16.
Total number would be what you find in both the E & F fact tables.

  • Number of records of a infocube

    Good Morning forum!
They know me as I know the number of records that have a bucket .... When you sink to visualize the data infocubo there is no option to let you know this not?
I thought of adding the number of rows inserted into the infocubo, but if this is not entirely correct.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
the manage infocube will give you the number of records in your F fact table (uncollapsed requests). If your cube is compressed, you have to goto the E fact table as well....
    Several options:
-SE16 tables /BIC(0)/F(E)<YOUR_ICUBE>. Number of entries
    - report SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS (will retrieve a complete analysis of all your cubes) via SE38
    - SE37 with function module RSDU_INFOCUBE_TABLE_SIZES :
    Import parameters               Value
    I_INFOCUBE                      YOUR_CUBE
    I_DO_COUNT                      X
    I_CHECK                            X
    will give a result like
E_FACTROWS                      857,944     (F+E fact table number of records)
the itab will give you a more detailed analysis like the hereunder with the DIM tables...
    TABLNM                         ROWS        PERCENT
    /BIC/FZICRT_023                    10,765           1
    /BIC/EZICRT_023                   847,179          99
    /BIC/DZICRT_023P                        2           0
    /BIC/DZICRT_023T                       61           0
    /BIC/DZICRT_023U                        2           0
    /BIC/DZICRT_0231                   47,760           6
    /BIC/DZICRT_0232                       49           0
    /BIC/DZICRT_0235                   47,760           6
    /BIC/DZICRT_0237                       61           0
    /BIC/DZICRT_0238                        2           0
    /BIC/DZICRT_0239                   47,760           6
    hope this helps...

  • Total number of records loaded into ODS and in case of Infocube

    hai
i loaded some datarecords from Oracle SS in ODS and Infocube.
My SOurceSytem guy given some datarecords by his selection at Oracle source system side.
how can i see that 'how many data records are loaded into ODS and Infocube'.
i can check in monitor , but that not correct(becz i loaded second , third time by giving the ignore duplicate records). So i think in monitor , i wont get the correct number of datarecords loaded in case of ODS and Infocube.
So is there any transaction code or something to find number records loaded in case of ODS and Infocube .
    ps tell me
    i ll assing the points
    bye
    rizwan

    HAI
I went into ODS manage and see the 'transferred' and 'added' data records .Both are same .
But when i total the added data records then it comes 147737.
But when i check in active table(BIC/A(odsname)00 then toal number of entries come 1,37,738
why it is coming like that difference.......
And in case of infocube , how can i find total number of records loaded into Infocube.(not in infocube).
Like any table for fact table and dimension tables.
    pls tell me

  • Number of records in Cube and in report

    Hi,
Is it possible to have less number of records visible in InfoCube and in reporting report has to show all the records?i.e., if cube contains 100000 records while using InfoCube--->manage and checking the data it has to show only 90000 records, while reporting it has to show all the records. If it is possible how?

If you want all the records to be displayed on the report as in the cube create a report having all chars & keyfigures with no filters.
Sry, I dont get the 90000 part..."checking the data it has to show only 90000 records" -- checking where & how ?
<b>**Added</b> will be the num of records in the cube.

  • How to find the number of records in ods?

how to find the number of records in ods?
Pls suggest the solution apart going to the table of ods and seeing the number of records.
Is there any program or function module to see the number of records in ods?
For eg: SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS is a program which gives the detail (number of records) of infocube.

    Hi,
I was looking at this and found the following tables that may be of help.
One of these tables will include a summary of the record count of all the tables in your system based on the last time each table had it's database statistics calculated:
    DBSTATTADA
    DBSTATTDB2
    DBSTATTDB4
    DBSTATTDB6
    DBSTATTINF
    DBSTATTMSS
    DBSTATTORA
We run on an Oracle database so the table record counts can be taken from DBSTATTORA. Type in AZ in table selection field in SE16 to restrict the output to ODS (or DSO) tables only.
The record count is at the time indicated in the timestamp field. Obviously this is not real time but should not be too out of date - if it is you may be having performance issues and should get your DBA / Basis to run a full refresh of DB stats.
Hope this helps, alhtough not real time the table should give you a decent indication of the size of all your ODS objects (or any other table for that matter!)

  • How to count the number of records retreived through a query?

    Dear All
I want to find the total number of records retreived for a particular query .
does BW provide any internal count function , which can solve my requirement??
if yes, please provide some details.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Pandurang.

    hi pandurang
when u see the contents of a particular cube
    RSA1->Infocube->manage->contents
there is a option "Output number of Hits"
An extra keyfigure is created displaying the number of records rolled up
Aggregating the column might just solve ur issue
    Try

  • Table to check number of entries in an Infocube for a particular selection

    Hi All,
Is there a table in BW system which would give a the number of entries in an infocube for a particular selection just like the flatR/3 table which has the button on top for checking the number of records?
Any close work around to check the number of entries in an Infocube would be appreciated.I have tried to find out the number of entries from F & E table but in vain.

    Hello,
    You can try the following:
    1) Right click on cube display data, select all attributes and nav attributes yo are interested in
    2) Go to field selection for output, here select only the nav attribute you want the no of records against (dont select any KF) , hit execute
    3) In selection screen provide the selection you want to give
    4) Scroll down, uncheck do no use nay conversion and use mat aggregates, keep Max no of hits blank
    5) Check use DB aggregation and output no of hits
This will give you the number of records for the nav attribute value u have selected.
You can use sum function in the ALV GRID if you want to sum up multiple values.

  • Less number of Records while loading data from one cube to another

    Hi,
We are in the process of doing major changes in the existing InfoCube.
Before making any changes, we had planned to make a copy of the cube with data.
For this we did the following steps :
    1. Created the new cube from the original cube.
    2. Generated Datasource on the Orignal cube.
    3. Made a update rule on the new cube by selecting the Orinal cube.
    4. Made a InfoPack on Infosouce which got created with 8<original cube>.
    5. Uploaded the data into the new cube.
We have uploaded the data successfully from the original cube to the new cube.
However, New cube shows less number of records as compared to the original cube.
But the query is showing the same figures from both the cubes.
Can anyone please advise what could be the reason for this less number of records and how the figures are showing same when we run the query from both the cubes.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Ramesh Ganji

    Hi Ramesh,
this is possible coz when u have loaded yr original cube, it may be loaded on daily/weekly basis. so in the cube there are many requests. Also if in the same request, if there are two records with same dimension keys ther are automatically added aggregating them.
if req 1 has following records
    cust mat amt
    1      1     100
    1      1       50
    it will add
    1      1     150
and if the records are seperated by different req, then both will b added individually.
therefore when u r loading yr new cube from original cube, all records that has same dimension key gets aggregated coz they are loaded into single request. so it showing less no of records as added.
    hope this helps.

    Purvang

  • How to find the number of records per months  in cube

    Hi,
how to find the number of records per months for my all cubes?
Can i use the ListCube transaction to find totl number f records per cube monthwise ?
    Jimmy

    Hi,
Here is a program to generate no of records and list of ODS and Cubes in Active version.Schedule this program in background and create a cube to load this information and schedule to the data from the file generated by the program. Schedule this all per you requirement.
1.Copy the code into your Z<programname> from Se38.
2.change the FILENAME in CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD' in the program to the location from where you can pick the information to load data to cube(eg Application server).
    3.Save program.
4.Schedule the program in background as required
5.Create cube with infoobjects to hold no of records and Infoprovider name
6.Load this cube based on event after the program job is done.
Hence you can report on this cube to see no of records in  CUBE or ODS in your box.
    Please find the code below.

  • SQL help: return number of records for each day of last month.

Hi: I have records in the database with a field in the table which contains the Unix epoch time for each record. Letz say the Table name is ED and the field utime contains the Unix epoch time.
Is there a way to get a count of number of records for each day of the last one month? Essentially I want a query which returns a list of count (number of records for each day) with the utime field containing the Unix epoch time. If a particular day does not have any records I want the query to return 0 for that day. I have no clue where to start. Would I need another table which has the list of days?
    Thanks
    Ray

Peter: thanks. That helps but not completely.
When I run the query to include only records for July using a statement such as following
    ============
    SELECT /*+ FIRST_ROWS */ COUNT(ED.UTIMESTAMP), TO_CHAR((TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY') + (ED.UTIMESTAMP/86400)), 'MM/DD') AS DATA
    FROM EVENT_DATA ED
    WHERE AGENT_ID = 160
    AND (TO_CHAR((TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY')+(ED.UTIMESTAMP/86400)), 'MM/YYYY') = TO_CHAR(SYSDATE-15, 'MM/YYYY'))
    GROUP BY TO_CHAR((TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY') + (ED.UTIMESTAMP/86400)), 'MM/DD')
    ORDER BY TO_CHAR((TO_DATE('01/01/1970','MM/DD/YYYY') + (ED.UTIMESTAMP/86400)), 'MM/DD');
    =============
    I get the following
    COUNT(ED.UTIMESTAMP) DATA
    1 07/20
    1 07/21
    1 07/24
    2 07/25
    2 07/27
    2 07/28
    2 07/29
    1 07/30
    2 07/31
Some dates donot have any records and so no output. Is there a way to show the missing dates with a COUNT value = 0?
    Thanks
    Ray

  • Hw to find total number of records

    Hi All,
    Can anyone help from these
    1. how to find total number of reports for a particular cube/ods... need step - step solution
    2. how to find total number of records for a particular Cube and ODS and Aggr's to till date.
    3.what is sandbox,mirror sys,instance of a sys..?
4.what r TWS(Tivoli Workload Scheduler) jobs? how these r different to standard schedulers?
    Thanks in ADv
    Linda

    Hello Linda,
As you have lots of answers on first 2 so i'll start from 3rd onward.
    3. Sandbox is mostly practice system where you can do all kind of R&D, mirror sys can be mirror image of any system depends on the organization and instance of system is again mirror image of one system.
    4. TWS is third party tool for scheduling which doesn't come along with SAP like standard scheduler as TWS has been prepared specially for this purpose so it has some more features than standard.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to find total number of records in a BDoc?

    Dear all,
I have replicated about BP 1088 records from ISU into CRM system with block size 100. Technically on SMW01, for each successfully processed BDoc, there will be 100 records (corresponds to 100 block size). But due to some failed BDocs, not all "successfully" BDocs will have 100 records each, some may have only 1 record inside...or 30...or 88 for example. So, may i know how to find or is there a report i can look into to find the total number of records clearly shown for each of the successfully processed green status BDocs???
Please help and points will be rewards!!
    Thank You

I am just showing this to show how to get the rowcount along with the cursor, if the program has so much gap of between verifying the count(*) and opening the cursor.
Justin actually covered this, he said, oracle has to spend some resources to build this functionality. As it is not most often required, it does not makes much sence to see it as a built-in feature. However, if we must see the rowcount when we open the cursor, here is a way, but it is little bit expensive.
    SQL> create table emp_crap as select * from emp where 1 = 2;

    Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to display the WebI Report data only if the number if record is less than 65k.
Incase if the records are more than 65k then the report should be blank and a text message needs to be displayed.
The client dont want to set the number of records either in universe or at the edit query at the report. They want to limit once the report is executed.
Please let me know if its possible to do it at the report level.

Optional prompts are not a problem.
Assuming you first query uses the following SQL statement
    select a,b,c from t where x=y and z=@prompt(...)
The query for checking the number of rows should use the following SQL code
select count(*) from t where x=y and z=@prompt(...)
The original query should be modified as follows
    select a,b,c from t where x=y and z=@prompt(...) AND (select count(*) from t where x=y and z=@prompt(...)) < 65000
