Number of songs in iTunes and my iPod do not match

I have 3002 songs in the "My Music" folder. My iPod indicates 3002 songs. But iTunes says I have 3005. How can I find where the other three songs are coming from? There are no "!" or "?" in the left column. Thank you.

This happens to me also. Go to the bottom of your library list. Normally at the end of the list you will find audio files that are not synchronised to the i-pod. In my case it is most often phone messages because the answering machine is linked to the computer. As I have set i-tunes as my preferred audio player it will be used to listen to these messages and they are then stored at the end of the library but never synchronized. You can just delete it there

  • ITunes and my iPod are not syncing

I'm having a few problems with iTunes and my iPod right now. I have the Classic 160GB if that makes any difference.
The laptop my original iTunes library was on died. I tried transferring all the songs off my iPod to the new computer. When I transferred only the purchased songs are showing in the library. The songs I uploaded from CDs are only showing on my iPod.
       2.  I purchased several songs about 2 weeks ago and they will not sync to my iPod; they are only showing in the library. Which leads me into my 3rd problem.
       3.  For some reason, the sync songs manually option is checked, and when I uncheck it I get a message that says if I continue the contents on my iPod will           be replaced with the current contents of the library. (I don't not want this to happen.) Also, when I go to the summary of my iPod and click the music tab             and try to sync that way, I get the same message about replacing contents with current library.
Thanks to anyone that can provide any help!

is your other computer still operational?if it is,do you have a wirless internet connection,or just a modem?

  • Problems with some songs in iTunes (and my iPod)

    Hi,
I do not know whether this is the right category for my problem, but I did not find a suitable one.
I have problems with some songs in iTunes. They do not sound right. It is hard to me to describe my problem in English (thanks to apple's "great" support...I was not able to contact them personally except by phone). The songs "hang", they sound like someone reels (?) it. The problem does not only appear with iTunes but also with my iPod nano first generation.
My godmother brang me CDs where that problems appear (but not the whole CDs have that problem, only a few songs) from the USA - I live in Germany. Maybe that is cause of the error. But I cannot imagine that, because CDs there and here have the same format and I have several CDs from the US where is no problem at all. I am absolutely sure that the CDs are originals and not a copy, by the way.
Maybe you can help me, it would be great!
    Thanks,
    Jule

Yes, I thought that's what Restore should do, but the problems remain.  Hmmm, the out of order 'album's' songlist is notated 1 of 8, 2 of 8, 3 of 8...  I'll try 01, 02...
    Probably a good idea.
The other album is running through the list of songs like fast-forward, but not playing the songs.  Then, iPod locks up.
Do these same tracks play okay in iTunes?  What is the original source for these tracks?  Were they downloads from the iTunes Store or imported from outside of iTunes?  What format are they encoded in and at what bitrate?

  • HT1567 When I plug my ipod into my computer I no longer am able to go to itunes and my ipod will not play the songs i recently downloaded.  My ipod has a white screen. At one point i got a message that it was corupted.

when i plug my ipod into my computer it no longer takes me to itunes. my ipod screen is a white blank and i can no longer listen to tunes i have downloaded.
at one point i received a message that said it was corruped.

My ipod has a white screen.
This forum category (where your question appeared) is for iPod shuffle, which has no screen.  What iPod model do you have?
When you connect the iPod to your computer, and run iTunes, the iPod does not appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES?
At one point i got a message that it was corupted.
Where and when did this message appear?

  • Itunes and my ipod are not showing purchases

I recently got a new imac, I authorized my itunes library and i bought a movie a few months ago on my ipod touch and two tv show episodes, and after i have synced my ipod the movie cannot be found on either my itunes or my ipod but when i go to purchase it again it says i have already purchased it. Some songs are even doing the same thing. PLEASE HELP!

Were all of the missing items purchased on the iPod? If so, when you performed the Sync, did you see a question asking if you wanted to transfer Purchases? If you saw this message and replied in the negative, that could be the problem.

  • Connected Ipod lost all playlists, songs in itunes and on ipod

I connected my video ipod to my computer, not for the first time, and all my songs and playlists were erased from my ipod and, in my itunes library, I lost all my playlists, recently purchased songs, and recently played folder. Why? How can I retrieve my playlists? How can I prevent this from happening again? Jeannine

    Weird.
While there's plenty of things that could change the playback speed in iTunes, I don't know of anything that could change the speed of playback on the iPod itself.
Maybe you've had a stroke. Might want to see a doctor about that.

  • IPod is recognized by iTunes and computer, but wil not sync songs

iPod is recognized by iTunes and computer, but wil not sync songs. I have about 1400 songs and just got 40 more, and before I bought those 40 my iTunes was wiped out. I still had the files so my iTunes was filled up again. Now, when I connect my iPod to the computer it is recognized and then it says "do not disconnect" then after a few seconds it says "ipod update is complete- ok to disconnect". but it did not upload any songs. How can I make it work?

If your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter:
    -- Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management
-- Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”
-- Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused (Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” or something similar)
    -- Safely eject the iPod
    -- Reboot the PC
Then restore your iPod to factory settings.

I have that exact same problem! It plays albums fine. But individual songs including ones downloaded from iTunes either skip or play the music of another totally different song. All play fine on iTunes and my iPhone... Got this one to replace my dying 5th gen classic.
I hope there is a fix for this, cause it *****!!!!

  • I know how to add lyrics to a song in iTunes and then see them on my iPod. But now I'm interested in watching those lyrics on my windows pc...can I and how do I do that ?

I know how to add lyrics to a song in iTunes and then see them on my iPod. But now I'm interested in watching those lyrics on my windows pc...can I ? What do I do so than I can see the lyrics of the song while it plays ?

This is the correct behavior. When you play a song, the play count and last played time gets updated. When you resync the iPod, the track gets copied to the iPod to update these new changed fields.
There is no fix for this, this is what it is supposed to do.

Do you have the right boxes checked to sync the music to your iPod?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Do they play in iTunes on the computer?
Have you successfully synced music form this iTunes library/computer before?
